Zur Herstellung von Äthyl-)3,7,11-trimethyl-2(E) , -4(E)-dodekadienoaten wurden von CA. Hernick u.a. (D. Org. Chem. 40_, 8 (1975)) verschiedene Verfahren entwickelt. For the preparation of ethyl) 3,7,11-trimethyl-2 (E), -4 (E) -dodecadienoates were obtained from CA. Hernick et al. (D. Org. Chem. 40, 8 (1975)) developed various methods. According to one of these methods, 6,7-dihydro-citronellal is reacted with an anion formed from diethyl 2-oxo-propylphosphonate, and the resulting 2-0x0-6, lO-dimethyl-3 -undecene is reacted with the lithium salt of acetic acid , The resulting 3-hydroxy-3,7, ll-trimethyl-4-undecenoic acid is converted to the acid chloride by reaction with phosphoryl chloride and N-ethyl-diisopropylamine, from which by treatment with ethanol the 2 (Z) stereoisomer of the hydroprene and as As a result of double bond migration, the corresponding 3,5-dodecadienoic acid derivative (10 %) can be obtained. A disadvantage of the method is that the Veresterung.durch only with poor yield (50 %) is feasible and a considerable amount of by-products is formed.
From this compound, a dianion is formed with the lithium compound of diisopropylamine, which is reacted with 6,7-dihydro-citronellal. The obtained 3-hydroxy-2-isopropenyl-5,9-dimethyldecanoic acid is converted by thermal rearrangement into S-hydroxy-3,7, ll-trimethyl-2 (Z) -dodecenoic acid, from which in acidic medium a lactone with six members The lactone is reacted with Nat'riummethylat, the
Treatment with thio-phenol gives a mixture in which the hydroprene and its 2 (Z) stereoisomer are present in a ratio of 6.5: 3.5. The process is unfavorable because of the high price of the starting compound and because of the low yields of the individual steps ,
Gemäß einem neueren Verfahren von CA. Henrick u.a. /_~0. Org„ Chem. 40, 8 (1-975); J.Agric. According to a recent method of CA. Henrick and others / _ ~ 0. Org. Chem. 40, 8 (1-975); J.Agric. Food Chem, 23, 396 (1975) 7, 6,7-dihydro-citronellal is reacted with the lithium compound of 1-propyne. The resulting 4-hydroxy-6, 10-dimethyl-2-undecin is reacted with ethyl orthoacetate and the resulting ethyl (3,7,11-trimethyl-3,4-dodecadienoate) is converted by means of a base into a hydroprene and its 2 ( Z) stereoisomers existing mixture transferred. By treatment with thiophenol, the equilibrium ratio (6.5: 3.5) is established in the mixture. The practical value of this method is greatly impaired by the poor yields of the individual process steps (the yield of the first addition step was 29 %) .
Unlängst wurde von G. Cardillo u.a. (CJ.C.S. From the 3-methyl-3-buten-1-ol used as the starting compound, a dianone is formed with twice the stöchiotnetrischen amount of butyllithium, which when reacted with 6,7-dihydro-citronellal 1,5-dihydroxy-3-methylene ~ 7,11-dimethyl-dodecane gives. This compound is acylated and the obtained Dracylderivat partially hydrolyzed. The resulting 5-acetoxy-3-methylene-7,11-dimethyl-dodecan-1-ol is oxidized with Oones reagent, the resulting carboxylic acid esterified with diazomethane and from the ester with sodium hydride in the presence of crown ethers

Bei einem bekannten Verfahren (CA. Henrick u.a.: 3. Org. In a known method (CA Henrick et al .: 3rd Org Chem 40, 1 (1975)) for the preparation of the Methoprems acetoacetic ester is dimerized in an acidic medium and prepared from the diene by treatment with sodium alcoholate 3-methyl-glutakonester. This is condensed in alcoholic potassium hydroxide with 7 ~ methoxy-6,7-dihydro-citronellal and the resulting ll ~ methoxy-4-carboxy-3,7,11-trimethyl-2 (Z), '4 (E) -dodekadiensäure decarboxylated by heating in the presence of 2,4-dimethylpyridine. From the reaction mixture, as the main product, ll-methoxy-3,7,11-trimethyl-2 (Z), 4 (E) -dodecadienoic acid, furthermore unreacted starting material, a lactone and the lO-methoxy-2 resulting from double decarboxylation, 6,10-trimethyl-1,3 (Z) -undekadien isolated. The dodecadienoic acid is isomerized with thiophenol to the mixture of stereoisomers 2 (E), 4 (Z) and 4 (E). From the mixture, the ammonium salts are formed, the ammonium salts of 2 (E) and 4 (E) are separated by crystallization. The acid released from the ammonium salt is converted into the acid chloride with a mixture of thionyl chloride and dimethylformamide and this with isopropanol in methoprene.
Economics and applicability of the method are affected by the fact that for the preparation of one mole of methoprene theoretically at least two moles of acetoacetic ester are required that further after decarboxylation, the separation of by-products is cumbersome, in the formation of the acid chloride, a portion of the methoxy is eliminated and finally the Product by i-propyl- (3,7,11-trimethyl-2 (Ξ), 4 (E) -10-dodecatrienoate) and i-propyl- (3,7, 11'-trimethyl-2-chloro-2 (E). 4 (E) -dodecadienoate) is contaminated.
A process is known for the preparation of the ethyl / ~ 3- (3,7-dimethyl-1-octylidene) -2-methyl-2-cyclopentene-carboxylate (cf., for example, Henrick et al., Bioorganic Chemistry 7, 235 (1978). ), according to which from l-ethoxycarbonyl-cyclopropyl - • triphenyl-phosphonium fluoroborate and diethyl (2-oxo-propylphosphonate t ethyl- (3-diathyl-phosphoryl ~ 2 ~ methyl-1 -cyclopenten-carboxylate) were prepared and A disadvantage of the process is that the starting compound phosphonium fluoroborate is expensive and the yields of the individual process steps are very low (10-20 %) .
