Abstract
Un método destinado a reducir significativamente o inhibir el desarrollo de la enfermedad de la escaldadura de la hoja en una planta o su tallo, dicho método incluye el paso de administrar una enzima de desintoxicación de la albicidina a la planta o su tallo. Asimismo, se proporciona un método para generar una planta transgénica con una elevada resistencia a la albicidina y a la enfermedad de la escaldadura de la hoja, el cual incluye los pasos para la introducción y la expresión de una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifique la enzima de desintoxicación de la albicidina en una planta, parte o célula, así como el cultivo de la planta, parte o célula con el propósito de generar la planta transgénica. Posteriormente se suministra un método para reducir sustancialmente o inhibir el desarrollo de la enfermedad de la escaldadura de la hoja en una planta o su tallo, dicho método abarca el paso de administrar a la planta o al tallo de ésta una bacteria que produce extracelularmente una enzima de desintoxicación de la albicidina. También se proporciona una enzima de desintoxicación de la albicidina aislada capaz de inactivar dicha sustancia en modo irreversible, así como una secuencia de nucleótidos aislada que codifica una enzima de desintoxicación de la albicidina
