Abstract

The claim refers to a take-up mechanism for a plied steel rope or cable on a laying-up or rope-making machine. It comprises a frame in which a roller is mounted in two bearings of which one is hollow and has a guide channel for the cable or rope. The roller also contains a guide of two curved titanium tubes. A frame is mounted on the bearings inside roller; it houses a mechanism for tensioning the cable or rope a laying device and a take-up package on a friction clutch. The cable or rope runs through the hollow bearing, the take-up mechanism being rotated via the toothed belt and the toothed disk. After the hollow bearing the cable slides into the titanium tubes, arrives at the frame and, after passing through the tensioner and the laying device is wound up on the package. This is rotated by the drive, a belt drive and the friction clutch.
