Abstract

Un proceso de lixiviación atmosférica para la recuperación de níquel y cobalto de un mineral laterítico, dicho proceso incluye las etapas de (a) Preparar un lodo del mineral laterítico con agua salina o hipersalina que tiene un contenido total de sólidos disueltos (TDS) mayor de 30 g/L; (b) Lixiviar el lodo del mineral laterítico con ácido sulfúrico a presión atmosférica, (c) Recuperar el níquel y el cobalto del lixiviado resultante.
