Abstract
Un proceso para preparar briquetas con alto contenido decarbono, que comprende los pasos de: proporcionar un material particulado que comprende partículas de hierro que incluyen óxido de hierro en una cantidad de por lo menos 4% basado en el peso de dicho material, y partículas de carbono en una cantidad mayor de 2% basado en el peso de dicho material; y someter dicho material a temperatura y presión de formación de briquetas en forma tal de proporcionar briquetas de aglomerado estables de dicho material. 1Una briqueta de alto contenido de carbono, que comprende un aglomerado estable de partículas de hierro y partículas de carbono, dichas partículas de hierro que incluyen hierro metalizado y óxido de hierro, dicho óxido de hierro que está presente en una cantidad de por lo menos 4% basado en el peso de dicha briqueta, y dichas partículas de carbono que están presentes en una cantidad mayor de 2,0% basado en el peso de dicha briqueta.
