Abstract

Un método para alterar las características del crecimiento deuna planta que comprende el paso de incorporar en el genoma de la planta una molécula recombinante de ADN que comprende una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica 4-cumarato Co-enzima A ligasa tal que cuando la secuencia de nucleótidos se expresa en la planta, el crecimiento de la planta se altera. Una planta que tiene su característica de crecimiento alterada a través de la incorporación dentro del genoma de la planta de una molécula de ADN recombinante que comprende una secuencia de nucleótidos que codifica 4-cumarato Co-enzima A ligasa tal que cuando la secuencia de nucleótidos se expresa en la planta, la característica del crecimiento de la planta se altera. 1Un método de alterar una característica de una planta que comprende el paso de regular corriente abajo genéticamente la enzima 4-cumarato Co-enzima A ligasa, donde la característica se selecciona a partir del grupo que consiste de crecimiento acelerado, reducido contenido de lignina, alterada estructura de lignina, incrementada resistencia a enfermedades, incrementada biomasa e incrementado contenido de celulosa.
