La invención se relaciona con un aparato para cocción de alimentos a presión (1) que comprende un recipiente (2) y una tapa (3), dicha tapa (3) comprende una pared superior (3A) que tiene un contorno periférico (30A) a partir del cual se extiende un faldón (3B), dicho aparato (1) comprende un empaque de sellado (4) así como un agujero de fuga (8) , dicho aparato se caracteriza porque dicha pared superior (3A) forma localmente una porción deprimida (9) a través de la cual se forma dicho agujero de fuga (8), dicha porción deprimida (9) delimita una cavidad que dicho empaque de sellado (4) cubre siempre y cuando la presión dentro del encierro no supere un umbral de seguridad, dicho empaque de sellado (4) descubre dicha cavidad tan pronto como la presión dentro del encierro supera dicho umbral de seguridad.
