Abstract

El objeto de la invención consiste en proveer un material absorbente biodegradable, elaborado a partir de exocarpio y mesocarpio de frutas y micelios de hongos macromicetos, que tiene una alta porosidad. Este material está estructurado en dos capas una de las cuales es impermeable. El material puede ser empleado para recoger, disponer y tratar residuos orgánicos, de tipo sanitario, tales como excrementos sólidos y líquidos. Con una modificación en el proceso obtenemos el mismo material pero mucho más delgado y flexible que puede ser empleado como capa absorbente en la elaboración de toallas higiénicas o pañales desechables, o en productos que recubren heridas. En otra modalidad de la invención se enseña el proceso por el cual es fabricado dicho material.
