Abstract

本实用新型涉及一种平板场离子显示屏FID。主要克服现有平板显示屏图象质量不好,工艺难度大等缺点。该显示屏由场离子发射板1,微通道板2和荧光板3三块玻璃平板平行对准组成,板间相隔几百微米,周边密封,各板电极的引线留在外面,内充稀薄气体,采用X-Y编码选址,厚度5—20毫米,当信号电压加于某一选址点(Xi,Yj)时,该选址点的场离子发射板,即根据信号强度发射场离子,当离子流穿入微通道孔并撞击到孔壁上时,引起多重二次电子发射倍增,并被加速极加速,转换为强电子束流,由孔的另一端飞出,再被屏极加速轰击到荧光屏上选址点的象素上发光成象。具有图象质量好,造价低,功效高等特点,可用于电视机或计算机的彩色平板显示。

Description

场离子显示屏
本实用新型涉及基本电气元件,具体地说是一种平板场离子显示屏FID。可用作电视机或计算机的彩色或黑白平板显示,也可根据需要用作其它图文显示。
当前,信息化浪潮正席卷全球,作为人机交换信息的窗口,显示器占有极其重要的地位,一台微机全部硬件成本构成中,显示器占三分之一,在彩色电视机中占二分之一,1996年显示器全球总产值达1500亿美元,年增长率高达14%,据此,人们预测:显示器工业有可能成为电子器件中的支柱产业。目前各种显示器中,图象质量最优良的,仍推阴极射线荧光显象管CRT。但CRT最大的缺点是体积过大,必需实现平板化,而现有的各种平板显示屏如:液晶显示屏LCD,等离子体显示屏PDP和场发射显示屏FED等,由于在原理和技术上存在各自的困难,其共同的缺点是图象质量不高,工艺难度大,因此性能价格比都达不到CRT的水平。例如LCD利用电信号改变液晶分子排列,调制外界光照以实现显示目的,当前日本虽已将这一技术发展到了十分成熟的地步,占领了全世界99%的市场。但至今它的图象质量在许多指标方面都达不到CRT的水平,虽其驱动电压和功耗低,但由于必需采用背光源,故总体电压和功耗并不低。又如PDP利用气体辉光放电产生紫外线以激发彩色荧光粉发光,但因其辉光影响图象的色纯度,又为保证其亮度,象素不能作得太小,故它在彩色逼真度和清晰度上都不可能达到CRT的水平,目前多作成1平方米左右的大屏幕电视,但因其性价比低,前景不容乐观。又如当前国际上最先进的FED,它将CRT中的热电子枪改换为平面场电子冷发射尖端阵列,确是CRT平板化的最佳方案,但由于尖端阵列工艺难度大,大面积均匀发射电子困难,且电子束流能量低,只能激发低压彩色荧光粉,其彩色逼真度,远达不到CRT的水平,故90年代以来,国际上虽集中了雄厚的资金和技术,全力开发,但仍迟迟未进入市场。
本实用新型的目的在于避免上述已有技术的不足,提供一种图象质量好,效率高、价格低的场离子显示屏FID。
实现本实用新型目的的技术方案是:采用背板、内板、面板、三块间隔为几百微米的玻璃平板平行对准组合,周边用低熔点玻璃密封,各平板上电极的引线留在外面,内部充有稀薄气体,并采用X-Y编码选址,总厚度根据屏面大小为5至20毫米。其中背板为场离子发射板,该发射板上蒸镀有发射场离子的X列线电极系列,每两条X列线电极的中心距和每条列线的宽度可根据显示屏要求的清晰度而定,如要求屏的清晰度为每平方毫米100个象素,则两条X列线的中心距应为100微米,每条列线的宽度可取60毫米,又每一条X列线电极实际由十几条尖劈形细长条电极并联而成。
内板为微通道板,厚度约2毫米,在正对发射板的一面蒸镀有Y行线电极系列,每两条Y行线的中心距和每条行线的宽度,应与发射板上的X列线电极相同,每条Y行线电极上,与X列线电极正对处有直径约50微米的微孔(栅孔),微孔垂直穿通整个微通道板,板的另一面蒸镀有加速电极。
面板为荧光显象板,其内侧有红绿兰三原色相间的高压彩色荧光粉象素,并蒸镀有0.1微米厚的铝膜,作为屏幕电极,且作为和荧光粉的保护层与反光层。本实用新型显示屏的机理如下:
当某一选址点(Xi,Yj)加有信号电压时,发射板附近的气体分子将被电场离化产生场离子发射,并被电场加速,穿入微通道孔撞击到孔壁上,引起多重二次电子发射倍增,并被微孔另一端的加速电极加速,形成强电子束流,由微孔飞出后,再被屏幕电极加速并聚焦,轰击到荧光屏对应的象素上发光成象。
本实用新型具有如下优点:
(1)场离子发射比场电子发射容易实现。FID的发射极不必作成带有栅孔的尖锥阵列,只需作成尖劈形长条系列即可,其栅孔在微通道板的入口,从而使加工工艺大为简化,故FID能够克服FED加工难度大,发射不均匀,成品率低,价格昂贵等困难;
()FID利用微通道板将离子流转换为强电子束流,可直接激发高压彩色荧光粉,图象质量可达到CRT的水平,且结构简单,无附加零件,成本低,具有与CRT竞争的潜在优势;
(3)FID采用场致离子冷发射,无预热延迟,不消耗能量,且工作在气体自激暗放电区,其消耗的电能几乎全部用于加速离子和电子,故功耗很低,其效率不但高于PDP,(因PDP中为碰撞电离,需消耗能量,且在辉光放电区工作,功耗大),而且高于CRT(因CRT中为热电子发射,需消耗能量),甚至高于LCD(因LCD要计入背光源的功耗);
(4)FID具有很高的清晰度,能够作到每平方毫米100个象素,达到FED同等水平。
以下结合附图详细说明本实用新型的结构与基本原理。

图1,图2中,背板1是场离子发射板,面板3是荧光板,背板1与面板3之间的内板2为微通道板。场离子发射板1的内侧加工有X列线电极系列4,每一条列线电极都由十几条尖劈形细长条电极并联而成。微通道板2与发射板1相对的一面加工有Y行线电极系列5,另一面加工有加速电极6,在各Y行线电极上与X列线电极正对处有直径为几十微米的微通道孔8,为了简化图中一个通道孔,实际代表数百个微通道孔,这些微通道孔穿过微通道板2。荧光显示板3的内侧加工有高压彩色荧光粉象素9,并蒸镀有薄铝层作为屏极7。将图2中的场离子发射板1,微通道板2和荧光板3三块玻璃平板平行对准组合,周边密封,内充稀薄气体,各板电极的引出线留在在外面,则成为图1所示的整体结构,其中10是微通道板Y行引线,11是发射板X列引线。

Claims (1)

1.场离子显示屏FID,主要由场离子发射板(1),微通导板(2)和荧光板(3)三块玻璃平板平行对准组合而成,周边密封,各板电极的引出线留在外面,内充稀薄气体,采用X-Y编码选址,其特征在于:
①场离子发射板(1),其内侧蒸镀有X列线电极系列(4),每一条列线电极都由十几条尖劈形细长条电极并联而成;
②微通道板(2),与场离子发射板(1)相对的一面刻有Y行线电极系列(5),另一面刻有加速电极(6),在各Y行线电极上与X列线电极正对处有微通道孔(8),它们垂直穿通微通道板;
③荧光显示板(3)的内侧加工有高压彩色荧光粉象素(9),并蒸镀有薄铝膜,作为屏极(7)。
