使用时，首选向上抬起推杆5，半圆形闸门4在推杆5的带动下逆时针旋转，从而带动驱动杆3向后移动，驱动杆3牵拉连接器2向后运行，连接器2带动车身7向下倾斜，同时转轮1在连接器2的带动下向上抬起，将车身7的边缘伸入货物的下方，然后向下压动推杆5，半圆形闸门4在推杆5的带动下顺时针旋转，并带动驱动杆3向前运行，驱动杆3推动连接器2向前运行，连接器2推动车身7的前端向上抬起，从而将货物铲入车身7上，同时转轮1在连接器2的带动下下落，最后通过推杆5拉动车身7行走，将货物运输到指定地点，并再次向上抬起推杆5，使连接器2带动车身7向下倾斜，将货物卸下。
所述驱动杆7还可用钢丝绳或链条代替，钢丝绳或链条的一端固定在连接器2上，由钢丝绳或链条来牵拉或松放连接器2，进而使车身7抬起装货或倾斜卸货。
