铝合金轮毂机械加工以一台数控车床和一台数控加工中心为主，辅以其它金切机床组成一个加工单元来完成。它既可获得较高的机加工质量，又满足大批量生产的对生产效率的要求。
铝合金轮毂机车机械加工在切削液润滑及冷却下进行车一序、打气门孔、车二序、打装饰孔等工序，完成后吹干轮毂并按照检查表进行外观、尺寸及铸造缺陷检查。目前检查工序大多在数控车床旁的平台上进行，由于轮毂体积较大，翻动时不方便，员工操作费力。
