弹簧销和插座的选择与接地平面的位置和壳体的设计相呼应,以保持电气信号的匹配的阻抗特征。
图3示出了弹簧销20,其中通过在套管62内的弹簧110将销组件64偏置在延伸的位置。销组件包括两个导电的金属部分。第一销部分112具有延长的轴114,轴114的大部分紧密地接收在套管内。轴具有后端116,弹簧压靠在其上。第一部分112终止于带有钉头状凸缘120的自由端,凸缘120具有轴向远离销延伸的平的圆形表面122,它垂直于且定心在销轴线。凸缘具有圆柱形外围表面124,其直径大于套管,但这可以在替代的实施例中改变。
销的第二部分126定位在第一部分前方且具有最小长度轴130,轴130具有自由端132,自由端132具有一个或多个尖锐的探针点134。轴在其后端终止于面向第一销部分,第一销部分带有成形为且尺寸设定为与第一部分凸缘120相同的凸缘136,带有面向且平行于第一部分凸缘面的表面122的后表面140。销部分轴在共同的轴线上对齐。
凸缘表面机械地且电气地连接到在凸缘之间并联的电阻器142和电容器144。这些电子部件的每个具有金属化的端极面,这便于为更强的机械连接而直接焊接到销凸缘,这提供了用于第二销部分的结构支撑。有时部件具有不相等的尺寸且凸缘的机械形状必须成形为(例如带有台阶)适应不同的尺寸。同样,套管可以提供机械强度以当部件为易碎的或太小或另外地不合适于提供充足的强度时进行补偿。为提供附加的结构支撑且为以机械挡板和环境密封件来保护部件,塑料套管146封闭了凸缘和部件。套管紧密地配合了凸缘的外围使得其可以以例如氰基丙烯酸酯粘合剂的芯吸粘合剂被密封。套管具有足够整体地覆盖凸缘而无悬垂的长度。
在优选的实施例中,套管以镀金的镍/银形成且具有7.4mm(0.292英寸)的长度、0.64mm(0.025英寸)的直径和0.51mm(0.020英寸)的内孔直径。销的第一部分112具有2.1mm(0.084英寸)的轴长度、0.38mm(0.015英寸)的轴直径、0.51mm(0.020英寸)的凸缘直径和0.25mm(0.010英寸)的凸缘厚度或轴向长度。销的第二部分126具有0.38mm(0.015英寸)的轴长度和0.51mm(0.020英寸)的轴直径。销部分轴直径在优选的实施例中相同,虽然对于其中探针尖端和套管孔的机械约束可对具有不同直径提供优点的替代的实施例不需要这样。第二部分具有0.51mm(0.020英寸)的凸缘直径和0.25mm(0.010英寸)的凸缘厚度或轴向长度。
第二销部分126的0.64mm(0.025英寸)的总长度提供了显著的优点在于,在被探测的设备和电气部件142和144之间的此非常有限的长度产生了12GHz的极其高的自谐振,这允许了达到此频率极限的有用的运行。在替代的实施例中,第二部分长度可以减小到任何实际的极限,包括使用形成有端特征部的电气部件。第二部分尖端仅充分地突出为使被检测的设备上角度不对齐或凸起的部件不因凸缘或套管导致不必要的接触。
相信当第二部分的长度小于凸缘直径的二倍时,它提供了电气性能和机械几何形状的有利的组合。同样的,当长度小于1.3mm(0.050英寸)时实现了这些益处,因为这提供了足够低的吸收传送的能量的损失正切(loss tangent)。对于KaptonTM聚酰亚胺上的常规线迹,典型的损失正切为0.0030,而优选的实施例实现了零损失正切,因为探针在被检测的设备和RC部件之间的导电部分(金属尖端)被空气围绕且不安装在膜或印刷电路板上。可比较的性能(0.69mm(0.027英寸)直径信号,50欧姆)在下表中描述。

因为第二销部分的质量比现有技术的整个销加上套管的质量小得多,它实现了比现有技术显著低的电抗(reactive)电感,现有技术必须依赖于在印刷电路板上邻近套管的无源RC部件。
第二部分与第一部分(包括套管)的长度比值为小于十分之一,且第二部分的质量与第一部分和套管的质量的比值为小于1∶3。这些低的比值提供了优选实施例比RC部件安装在电路板上的实心销的相对的优点。
替代实施例
图4示出了用于电缆端子的探针组件200的替代实施例。组件包括框架202、连接到框架的探针204的阵列和数个连接到探针的同轴电缆206。下盖210和上盖212封闭了框架和探针使得销突出超过一侧的外围且电缆从其他侧延伸。带螺纹的螺钉214和螺母216将盖固定在一起。
框架202为带有大的中心开口的矩形主体。框架具有第一边缘件220,它支撑了电缆206的端和探针204的后端。相对的第二边缘件222支撑了探针的相对端且侧边缘件224和226连接了第一和第二边缘件。第一边缘件限定了一系列通道230,每个通道具有紧密地容纳电缆端部分的宽度,从该端部分外鞘233被剥去以暴露屏蔽层234。屏蔽件覆盖了围绕中心信号导体240的电介质层236。每个通道的深度小于屏蔽件直径的一半,使得整个中心导体保留在框架的上表面242上方。通道互相间隔开以提供邻近的电缆屏蔽件之间的区(land)244。框架的整个上表面242以印刷电路板的方式覆盖有薄的铜箔层246,使得区244是导电的。这提供了焊接屏蔽件和探针的一些到第一框架部分,如将在下文中论述。
框架的第二边缘件222也具有通道250的阵列,通道250的阵列限定了在其间的区252的阵列。这些区也覆盖有铜箔使得探针可以被焊接。通道250以第一边缘的通道230的间距的二倍的间距排布,带有足够使导电的区表面互相隔离的最小深度。在优选的实施例中,同轴电缆为34 AWG,第一通道具有0.83mm(0.033英寸)(信号到地)的中心到中心间隔,且第二通道具有1.68mm(0.066英寸)(信号到地)的间隔。框架具有31.8mm(1.250英寸)的长度、6.1mm(0.240英寸)的厚度和25mm(1.000英寸)的宽度(对于带有19个电缆和38个探针的实施例)。框架的第一边缘具有0.64mm(0.025英寸)的宽度且相对的边缘具有6.4mm(0.250英寸)的宽度且侧边缘具有4.4mm(0.175英寸)的宽度。
每个探针204包括管状的圆柱形套管254和部分地接收在套管内的销256。如图5中所示,每个套管具有邻近电缆206的后端260和向前端262,销256从向前端262中突出。销具有接触接收在套管孔内的压缩螺旋弹簧266的后端264。套管的缩颈部分270在套管中间部分提供了对弹簧的向后的支撑。销具有从套管的向前端262突出的尖锐的尖端272。
参考回图4,探针的一半连接到电缆的信号导体且一半连接到屏蔽件以用作接地导体。这些以交替方式布置为均匀间隔的平行探针的阵列,阵列在其每端具有接地探针。所有探针通过向前的框架元件222支撑在它们的套管的向前端。套管的向前端以焊料274欧姆连接到箔层246。套管端不延伸超过框架边缘而延伸部分276突出超过套管和框架很多。
套管的后端被不同地支撑和连接,取决于它们是信号载体还是互相交叉的接地载体。如在图5中所示,每个信号承载探针连接到各导线的信号导体240。导体插入到套管内且通过套管后端的孔紧密地被接收,且为欧姆连接而被焊接。套管254的后端搁置在暴露的屏蔽件部分处的电缆之间的区244上。焊料276的连接将每个屏蔽件234和套管连接到每个邻近的区使得所有的屏蔽件相互连接,如接地探针套管的端。套管具有0.69mm(0.027英寸)的直径,使得对于优选的间隔,在邻近的套管之间存在0.15mm(0.006英寸)的空间。
接地探针套管比信号探针套管长,因为接地套管必须与第一框架边缘交迭以覆盖区,而信号探针套管不必与区交迭,因为电缆屏蔽件和电介质部分延伸到框架部分的边缘,且信号套管甚至不需要完全地到达电介质的端。在替代的实施例中,电缆可以定位为使得电介质和屏蔽件的端不到达框架部分的边缘,但是停止在中间位置。以此可使用共同的套管尺寸使得接地套管与框架部分交迭而信号套管也与框架部分交迭而不与电介质干涉。
图示的实施例提供了稳定的信号和接地路径长度,因为在销柄和套管的向前的孔口之间的接触或缺乏接触不影响路径长度。通过销或套管,或通过二者的信号沿相同长度的路径行进而没有上述的现有技术的缺点。
参考回图5,框架和套管包含在由上盖212和下盖210所形成的塑料盒内。盖限定了室280,室280在探针之间且在套管和每个表面之间提供了空气空间。盒的向前壁282定位为刚好在套管的向前端的前方且具有0.64mm(0.025英寸)的最小厚度,以提供过多的自由销长度。向前壁限定了由上盖和下盖沿处的半圆形切除部分284所形成的孔口阵列。这些孔口的尺寸设定为紧密地适应销而无接触或摩擦。盒具有限定了也由盖沿的半圆形切除部分290所形成的更大的孔口的后壁286。这些孔口尺寸设定为略微小于带鞘的电缆的总直径使得当盖相互固定时电缆鞘以应变消除的方式略微地被压缩,以保护焊料接合点不应变。在优选的实施例中,室在盖的主表面之间具有2.0mm(0.080英寸)的深度,提供了在套管和盖之间充足的空隙。
虽然以上论述的是依据优选的和替代的实施例,但是本发明不意图于限制于此。

Claims (12)

1.一种电连接器,其包括
(1)主体,主体包括金属化的表面部分,金属化的表面部分包括第一阵列的盘;
(2)多个连接到主体的探针;
每个探针具有带接触尖端的弹簧偏置的销;
每个销包括接收销的套管;和
每个套管具有第一端、连接到主体且销从其突出的第二端和悬置的与主体不接触的中间部分;和
(3)多个连接到主体的同轴电缆,每个电缆具有被导电的屏蔽件所围绕的信号导体,探针布置为阵列,使得每隔一个探针连接到相应的信号导体,剩余的探针的套管的第一端焊接到所述金属化的表面部分,所述第一阵列的盘定位在邻近的引入导体之间,每个屏蔽件连接到第一阵列的邻近的盘,其中屏蔽件在第一阵列处相互连接,从而所有的屏蔽件相互连接。
2.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中每个套管在没有介入材料的情况下与邻近的套管间隔开。
3.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中每个套管的中间部分套管悬置在空气中且每个套管与邻近的套管间隔开。
4.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中主体具有外围边缘且其中销延伸超过主体。
5.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中每个探针提供了通常线性的导电路径,从探针尖端通过探针的长度到与弹簧接触的探针的相对端,通过弹簧到套管的接触部分且通过剩余的套管部分到引入的导体,使得导电路径不依赖于销的中间部分和套管的第二端之间的可能的侧向接触。
6.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中主体为电路元件,其具有在套管的第一端支撑套管的第一线性部分和与第一线性部分间隔开的第二线性部分,第二线性部分在套管的第二端支撑了套管的至少一部分。
7.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中主体为支撑了套管的两端的框架且具有与套管中间部分对准的开口。
8.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中套管包括两个子组,每个子组的成员相互交替,且其中子组的一个的成员的套管的第一端延伸超过其他的子组的成员的第一端。
9.一种电缆组件,其包括:
具有导电表面部分的图案的电路元件;
套管,每个套管包含延伸超过电路元件的第一外围边缘部分的弹簧销,并且套管包括第一和第二子组,第一和第二子组的元件相互交替;和
电缆,其中电缆包括多个同轴线,每个具有信号导体和连接到电路元件的外屏蔽件,且套管的第一子组连接到相应的信号导体且套管的第二子组焊接到电路元件,从而所有的屏蔽件以及套管的第二子组相互连接。
10.如权利要求9所述的组件,其中第二子组的套管的端部与屏蔽件的端部以交替布置散布。
11.如权利要求9所述的组件,其中每个套管具有相对端和中间部分,且其中电路元件具有在中间部分下面的开口部分。
12.如权利要求9所述的组件,其中套管的中间部分相互间隔开。
