技术领域
本发明涉及用于电气装置的接口。具体地,本发明涉及具有被称为高清晰多媒体接口或HDMI的用于数字显示装置的数字视频接口(DVI)的HDMI变体的线缆。更具体地,本发明涉及用于将HDMI接口连接至多条线缆的互连板。
背景技术
高清晰多媒体接口(HDMI)是一种响应于数字平板显示器的迅速增长而开发的显示接口。HDMI接口变得越来越普遍,并且预料会更广泛地用于数字显示装置(包括平板显示器和新兴数字CRT)。数字HDMI连接器具有19个引脚(pin,针),它们可以容纳TMDS和任选的CEC通道链路以及VESA增强DDC和EDID服务。HDMI标准定义了两种类型的连接器。可连接到连接器的标准HDMI线缆是19导体线缆。HDMI线缆很昂贵并且不能够用于很长的距离。市场上可买到的最长的HDMI线缆的长度是48英尺(48′)。可使用HDMI线缆的唯一选择是双向数模转换(double digital analogconversion)。来自计算机的数字信号必须被转换为用于模拟VGA接口的模拟信号,然后再将其转换回由平板显示器处理的数字信号。这种固有的低效处理在性能和视频质量上付出了代价并且增加了成本。相反地,当将显示器直接连接至数字接口时,就不需要进行数模转换。
合适的HDMI线缆配置是新一代电子装置(包括数字电视机、高清晰电视机(HDTV)和大型数据监控器)的主要元素。由于经常要从电子装置中移除显示器,因此这样的装置将需要很长的线缆。
发明内容
HDMI技术中存在数字信号需要经过很长距离的问题。显示SXGA需要的带宽是83MHZ。例如对于HDTV来说,如果期望更高的分辨率,则所需带宽也将相应的更宽。如果使用标准的19导体线缆,伴随着信号的电容性退化的串扰和辐射使得不能够维持长距离HDMI线缆的使用。如果使用传统的同轴线缆,为了减少这些问题,需要一束19芯线缆。因此,对能够长距离且成本合理的HDMI线缆系统有着长久的需求。
本发明广泛采用现在已被证实的线缆连接方法。一种类别的标准HDMI接口连接器被连接至用户连接器卡。该卡将接口的19输出连接器连接至多条双绞线线缆。相似的卡将双绞线线缆连接至相反类别的HDMI连接器。
本发明的系统允许诸如显示器的装置和诸如电视接收机或计算机的远距离源(remote source)之间的连接。这是以最低成本通过久经试验的元件来实现的。本发明可以用于使双绞线线缆穿过墙排列,其中,在墙的每一端均具有通过HDMI引出端(pigtail)连接至组件的转换器。

具体实施方式
图1是本发明的系统的框图。组件源(component source)是HDMI信号源。组件源101可以是计算机,具体地,是计算机的视频输出。组件源101也可以是DVD播放器、电视机、或VCR,简而言之,可以是能够产生符合HDMI标准的信号的任何装置。虽然与HDMI线缆的直接连接也是可能的,但组件源101通常会通过标准DVD插孔(jack)传送信号。HDMI线缆102的一端连接至组件源101的输出。线缆102通常是特别适合于HDMI信号传输的十九(19)线线缆。线缆102的另一端连接至转换器103。线缆102与转换器103的连接可以通过HDMI插头和HDMI插孔进行或可以直接连接。转换器103将十九个输入信号转换为适合于双绞线线缆的多个信号。在优选实施例中,转换器103不包括任何有源组件。在优选实施例中,转换器103输出到三个RJ45插孔。多条双绞线线缆104的一端连接至转换器103。在优选实施例中,每条均具有四条双绞线的三条5类线缆被用作线缆104。为了具有更宽的带宽,可使用5E类、6类或最优化线缆。线缆104的另一端连接到第二转换器105的输入端。在优选实施例中,转换器105与转换器103的类型相反(转换器105与反转的转换器103相同)。转换器105的输出连接至HDMI线缆106。HDMI线缆106连接至外围装置107。外围装置107可以是视频监控器或具有HDMI输入的任何装置。在可选实施例中,诸如941OP Amp的运算放大器108设置在转换器103和线缆104之间,以增强信号强度。
图2是本发明的转换器103的俯视平面图。印刷电路板50形成转换器103的主体。转换器103包括安装在印刷电路板50上的HDMI插孔111,其用于输入HDMI信号。已经发现,诸如那些由Molex制造的HDMI-D母插座(female receptacle)适合于插孔111,但其他等效的插孔可用在公或母插座的实施例中。插孔111包括十九个引脚插座(pin receptacle)1-19。三个输出插孔37、38、和39也安装在包括在转换器103上的印刷电路板50上。已经发现MolexCAT5插孔w/internal shield#855070001适合于用作输出插孔37、38、和39。每个输出插孔37、38、和39分别包括8个引脚40-47、5个引脚50-54、和6个引脚60-65。值得注意的是,具体引脚和各个导线之间的对应关系仅是设计偏好的问题,并不是为了限制或排除其他的布线选择,例如,8线、8线、3线选择也是等效可操作的形式。电路板50将输入HDMI插孔111的引脚1连接至输出插孔37的引脚40。剩余的引脚如以下表所示连接。

Claims (7)
1.一种用于将产生HDMI输出的HDMI产生装置连接到外围装置的系统,包括:
连接装置,用于将所述HDMI产生装置的输出连接到HDMI线缆,
转换器,用于将包含由所述HDMI线缆传送的HDMI信号的HDMI输入转换为多个输出,
多条线缆,每条线缆的一端各自连接到所述转换器的所述输出中的一个输出,
第二转换器,用于将从每条所述线缆的另一端接收到的信号转换为HDMI输出,以及
第二HDMI线缆,用于将所述第二转换器的所述输出连接至外围装置。
2.根据权利要求1所述的用于将产生HDMI输出的HDMI产生装置连接到外围装置的系统,还包括第二连接装置,用于将所述线缆连接至所述外围装置。
3.根据权利要求1所述的用于将产生HDMI输出的HDMI产生装置连接到外围装置的系统,还包括用于将所述转换器连接至所述线缆的运算放大器。
4.根据权利要求1所述的用于将产生HDMI输出的HDMI产生装置连接到外围装置的系统,其中,所述多条线缆中的每一条均包括多条双绞线。
5.根据权利要求4所述的用于将产生HDMI输出的HDMI产生装置连接到外围装置的系统,其中,在所述多条线缆中的每一条中都有四对双绞线。
6.根据权利要求4所述的用于将产生HDMI输出的HDMI产生装置连接到外围装置的系统,其中,具有三条这样的双绞线线缆。
7.根据权利要求4所述的用于将产生HDMI输出的HDMI产生装置连接到外围装置的系统,其中,具有三条这样的双绞线线缆,并且它们都是5类线缆。
