某些电缆保护终端或箍是两件式设计。这些已证明是不安全的,装配工在试图安装两件式设计时容易受伤,特别是对于非常小的电缆。另外,两件式设计的安装是费时和相对较昂贵的。
发明内容
本发明提供上述的两件式箍设计问题的解决方案。在示例性实施例中,单件式箍包括通过径向边缘表面连接的内部圆柱部分和外部圆柱部分。内部圆柱部分被设计成插入到电缆包层的内径,而径向边缘表面和外部圆柱部分围绕末端缠绕和包围电缆包层的外径。内部和外部圆柱部分在它们的自由端是漏斗式的,以便于在电缆和电缆包层的末端滑动。外部圆柱部分比起内部圆柱部分具有更短的轴向长度以及适于通过任何适当的措施,诸如压接、变形、铆接、焊接等等被固定到电缆包层。

再一个方面,本发明涉及电缆组件,包括电缆、包围电缆的电缆包层和单件式电缆终端箍,具有被固定到电缆包层的外部圆柱部分和电缆穿过的内部圆柱部分,通过径向表面被连接的外部和内部圆柱部分覆盖电缆包层的终端边缘。

具体实施方式
一开始参照图1,按照本发明的实施例的箍10包括由环状径向边缘表面16连接的内部圆柱部分12和外部圆柱部分14。径向边缘表面16建立位于内部与外部圆柱部分12,14之间的环状空间或间隙18,它适于接纳一个末端,包括圆柱电缆包层的终端边缘26。径向边缘表面16还保护电缆包层的终端,否则箍的安装者的手会受到包层的裸露终端边缘的损害。
在示例性实施例中,外部圆柱部分具有约0.12英寸的轴向长度,而内部圆柱部分具有约0.26英寸的轴向长度,或约为外部圆柱部分的轴向长度的两倍。内部圆柱部分的直径可以是约0.181-0.185英寸,而外部圆柱部分的直径可以是0.303-0.308英寸。当然,尺度将随电缆直径和包层厚度而变化。
参照图3和4,内部和外部圆柱部分的尾部或自由端是漏斗式开口的。具体地,参照图4,内部圆柱部分12的尾部端在22处以相对于箍的纵向中心轴线28约5°漏斗式开口。同时,外部圆柱部分14在24处以相对于同一个轴线约2°漏斗式开口。漏斗端部分使得箍易于在电缆包层26上滑动以及电缆本身易于穿过箍10的圆柱形开孔20。
箍10可以由诸如不锈钢的适当的金属或诸如铜、铝、黄铜、塑料等等的其它适当的材料制成。在这方面,将会看到,保护箍10可以通过适当的传统的措施,包括压接、变形、铆接、或焊接,被固定到电缆包层26。压接的箍30被显示为附着到图5的电缆包层32。电缆34延伸超出箍30到电缆终端,连接器等等。

Claims (7)
1.一种电缆保护金属箍,包括其一端由径向边缘表面连接的外部圆柱部分和内部圆柱部分,其中所述外部圆柱部分在它的相反端以相对于金属箍的纵轴线约2°的角度向外漏斗形开口,并且其中所述内部圆柱部分也在它的相反端以相对于金属箍的纵轴线约5°的角度向外漏斗形开口。
2.根据权利要求1所述的电缆保护金属箍,其中所述内部圆柱部分具有所述外部圆柱部分的轴向长度的基本上两倍的轴向长度。
3.根据权利要求1所述的电缆保护金属箍,其中所述径向边缘表面具有约0.181英寸的宽度。
4.根据权利要求1所述的电缆保护金属箍,其中所述金属箍由不锈钢制成。
5.一种电缆组件,包括电缆、围绕所述电缆的电缆包层和单件式电缆终端箍,所述单件式电缆终端箍具有固定到所述电缆包层上面的外部圆柱部分和所述电缆从其中通过的内部圆柱部分,所述外部圆柱部分和所述内部圆柱部分通过覆盖所述电缆包层的终端边缘的径向表面相连接,其中所述外部圆柱部分和所述内部圆柱部分的自由端分别大体上以2°的角度和5°的角度向外漏斗形开口。
6.根据权利要求5所述的电缆组件,其中所述内部圆柱部分具有所述外部圆柱部分的轴向长度的基本上两倍的轴向长度。
7.根据权利要求5所述的电缆组件,其中所述金属箍由不锈钢制成。
