Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明涉及一种掺杂质的氧化镝放电容器。
背景技术
金属卤化物放电灯已经因为其高功效和高显色性而受到欢迎,这些属性是由它们的稀土化学成分产生的合成发射光谱引起的。尤为理想的是陶瓷金属卤化物灯,它们提供优于传统石英电弧管类型的改进的色彩再现、色温和功效。这是因为陶瓷材料可以在比石英更高的温度下工作并且较不易与各种金属卤化物化学成分反应。优选的陶瓷材料是多晶氧化铝(PCA)。
已经提出了各种形状用于陶瓷放电容器,包括从完全圆筒形到大致球形(膨胀泡体形状)。这些类型的电弧放电容器的示例分别在欧洲专利申请No.0 587 238 A1和美国专利No.5,936,351中给出。具有半球形端部的膨胀泡体形状是优选的,因为其产生更均匀的温度分布,从而使得金属卤化物填充材料对放电容器的腐蚀减小。
发明内容
多晶的氧化镝,即Dy2O3,也可以用作制造金属卤化物灯的陶瓷放电容器的材料。与PCA(多晶氧化铝)不同,多晶氧化镝具有立方结构并因此具有制造用于需要高光输出量的照明应用场合的透明放电容器,并由此制可造出高亮度的光源。多晶氧化镝还具有PCA不具备的275-475nm范围中的多个固有吸收频带。其结果为,放电容器的主体颜色与发白的PCA容器相比稍黄。多晶氧化镝对于蓝光和UV(紫外线)的强吸收性使得过滤掉了电弧放电发射出的短波辐射并且降低了灯产生的光的色温。例如,通常的3000K的金属卤化物化学成分在多晶氧化镝放电容器中被使用时将产生约2500K的色温。
已经发现,被强烈吸收的紫外线辐射可以借助掺杂有诸如铈、铽和铕的稀土金属中的一种或多种稀土金属的多晶氧化镝从而被转换成可见光。其它发光掺杂剂可以包括镨、钕、钐、铒、镱、钬和铥。诸如Mn、Cr、Ti、V、Co、Ni、Cu、Bi、Pb、Sn和Sb的非稀土金属代表其它的可用的发光掺杂剂。
这引入了:在不必调节复合金属卤化物填充物的化学成分的情况下就可以调节金属卤化物灯的光谱的可能性。例如,铈(Ce3+)可以用于增强黄光发射,铽(Tb3+)可以用于增强绿光,而铕(Eu3+)可以增加更多红光。来自放电容器主体的所述增强的可见光发射应当还增强了灯的功效,这是因为由电弧放电发射的更多辐射被转换成可见光。来自放电容器的补充性的发射具有在电弧核心周围有延伸的罩的效果,这与在石英金属卤化物灯中观察到的来自橙色的钠罩的发射相似。此外,降低的UV(紫外线)输出将改善对吸收UV的护罩的需要,该护罩通常放置在放电容器周围以保护人们不会过度地暴露于UV辐射。

具体实施方式
为了更好理解本发明以及其其它和进一步的目的、优点及能力,结合所述附图参照以下公开及所附权利要求。
现在参照图1,示出了用于金属卤化物灯的放电容器的剖视图。放电容器1为具有半球形端部腔17的膨胀泡体形状。膨胀泡体形状的容器具有包围放电室12的中空的轴对称主体6。根据本发明,放电容器的主体由掺杂有以从铈、铽和铕中优选地选择的一种或多种元素的多晶氧化镝构造成。该氧化镝主体中掺杂剂的量基于金属氧化物优选地处于从约0.1至约10的重量百分比的范围内,并且更优选地为约1的重量百分比(wt.%)。
两个相对的毛细管2沿着中心轴线从主体6向外延伸。此实施例中的毛细管已经与电弧管主体模制成一体。电弧管的放电室12可以包括缓冲气体和金属卤化物填充物8,缓冲气体例如是30torr至20bar的Xe、Kr、Ar或其混合气,金属卤化物填充物8例如是汞加上金属卤化物盐混合物,金属卤化物盐例如为NaI、CaI2、DyI3、HoI3、TmI3和TlI,或者仅包括足量的汞以在工作期间产生约200bar的压力。
电极组件14密封到毛细管2上。在优选的结构中,电极组件由铌馈电体、钨电极和钼线圈构造成,该钼线圈缠绕在焊接于钨电极和铌馈电体之间的钼或Mo-Al2O3金属陶瓷棒。钨线圈或者形成电弧附接点的其它适合装置可以固定到钨电极的末端3。熔结材料9在电极组件14和毛细管12之间建立气密密封。在金属卤化物灯中,通常期望使熔结材料穿过毛细管中的穿透性最小化以防止与腐蚀性金属卤化物填充物的不利反应。
虽然借助内置电极的激励是优选的,但是也可以使用其它结构。例如,可以通过电容电极、微波腔或者实现无电极灯的感应方法从外部施加激励。实际上,当使用可以侵蚀电极结构的侵蚀性填充物时(例如在使用氯化盐情况下),这些结构可能更理想。
示例
图2示出了抛光的多晶氧化镝盘的直进透光度。200至约475nm的低透光度表明了多晶氧化镝对于UV和蓝光的强吸收。
多晶氧化镝盘分别掺杂有1wt.%(重量百分比)的Eu2O3、1wt.%的Tb2O3和1wt.%的Ce2O3。盘(直径约10mm,厚度为1.3mm)暴露于紫外线辐射(270nm)并且测量可见光发射。三种盘的发射光谱示出在图3-5中。每个盘在400nm至700nm的可见光波长区域中具有至少一个发射峰值。包含1wt.%Eu2O3的盘在约614nm处表现出红色Eu3+发射特性(图3);包含1wt.%Tb2O3的盘在约545nm处表现出绿色Tb3+发射峰值特性(图4);并且包含1wt.%CE2O3的盘在约573nm处表现出黄色Ce3+发射特性(图5)。在三者中,包含1wt.%Eu2O3的盘表现出最强的发射。这对金属卤化物灯特别有用,这是因为经常需要调节金属卤化物填充物化学成分以增大灯的红光发射来获得更高的特定(R9)显色性系数。
这些结果证明了掺杂有发光离子的多晶氧化镝放电容器通过增强光谱的不同部分可以用来调节金属卤化物灯的发射光谱。这对灯设计而言提供了增加的灵活性,因为灯光谱可以根据掺杂到陶瓷材料中的离子(或离子组合)的浓度和类型而变化。
虽然已经示出并描述了当前被视为本发明优选实施例的那些内容,但对本领域技术人员显而易见的是在不背离所附权利要求所限定的本发明范围的情况下此处可以进行各种变化和改进。
Claims (13)
1.一种陶瓷放电容器,其包括用于包围放电的中空主体,该中空主体包括具有发光掺杂剂的多晶氧化镝,当被所述放电产生的辐射激励时该发光掺杂剂发射出一种或多种可见光波长。
2.根据权利要求1所述的放电容器,其特征在于,来自所述发光掺杂剂的可见光发射是红光发射。
3.根据权利要求1所述的放电容器,其特征在于,来自所述发光掺杂剂的可见光发射是绿光发射。
4.根据权利要求1所述的放电容器,其特征在于,来自所述发光掺杂剂的可见光发射是黄光发射。
5.根据权利要求2所述的放电容器,其特征在于,与从包括不含所述发光掺杂剂的多晶氧化镝放电容器的相似灯发射的光的R9值相比,来自所述发光掺杂剂的红光发射足以为从包括所述放电容器的灯发射出的光提供增大的R9值。
6.一种陶瓷放电容器,其包括用于包围放电的中空主体,该中空主体包括多晶氧化镝,该多晶氧化镝含有从Ce、Tb、Eu、Pr、Nd、Sm、Er、Yb、Ho、Tm、Mn、Cr、Ti、V、Co、Ni、Cu、Bi、Pb、Sn和Sb中选择的一种或多种金属。
7.根据权利要求6所述的陶瓷放电容器,其特征在于,所述多晶氧化镝基于该金属的氧化物包含重量百分比约0.1至10的该金属。
8.根据权利要求6所述的陶瓷放电容器,其特征在于,所述多晶氧化镝基于该金属的氧化物包含重量百分比约1的该金属。
9.根据权利要求6所述的陶瓷放电容器,其特征在于,所述多晶氧化镝包含Ce、Tb、Eu、Pr、Nd、Sm、Er、Yb、Ho和Tm中的一种或多种。
10.根据权利要求9所述的陶瓷放电容器,其特征在于,所述多晶氧化镝基于该金属的氧化物包含重量百分比约0.1至10的该金属。
11.一种陶瓷放电容器,其包括用于包围放电的中空主体,该中空主体包括多晶氧化镝,该多晶氧化镝含有从铕、铈和铽中选择的一种或多种金属。
12.根据权利要求11所述的陶瓷放电容器,其特征在于,所述多晶氧化镝基于该金属的氧化物包含重量百分比约0.1至10的该金属。
13.根据权利要求12所述的陶瓷放电容器,其特征在于,所述多晶氧化镝基于该金属的氧化物包含重量百分比约1的该金属。
