Abstract
本发明涉及用于在双层可记录盘上记录信息的记录方法,和相应的记录装置。在这样一个方法和装置中,OPC区域可变化的位于盘的一个层上。在一优选实施例中,OPC区域被布置成相对靠近数据流从第一层切换至第二层的半径。这减少了跳至一固定OPC区域所需的附加时间。另外,在另一个这种方法和装置中,将要记录的信息被均等的分割在双层盘的两层上。这避免了最终化所需的附加时间。
Description
本发明涉及用于在双层可记录盘上记录信息的记录方法,所述方法包括执行最佳功率控制(OPC)过程以确定实际的最佳写入功率的步骤,所述最佳功率控制过程是在盘上的OPC区域执行的。本发明还涉及相应的使用这些方法在双层可记录盘上记录信息的记录装置。
对于需要与只读双层盘读取兼容的可记录双层介质(一次写入型的和可重写型的),类似例如DVD+R盘和DVD+RW盘,存在问题就是如何处置要求占据双层盘的一层以上但是少于两满层的存储空间的数据量。
用于在这种双层可记录盘上记录信息的第一种记录方法,即方法A,被描绘在图1的左手侧。在该方法中,首先第一层L0被充分完全写入,随后将数据的剩余部分写在第二层L1上。用于在双层可记录盘上记录信息的第二种方法,即方法B被描绘在图1的右手侧。在该方法中,根据本发明,将要写入的数据被均等的分割在两层L0和L1之间。
这里L0被定义为是最靠近记录装置中的记录透镜的层,因此也是最靠近盘中激光束入射表面的层。L1是另一层。为了使此更加清楚,对于所谓的OTP(相反轨迹路径)盘根据标准ECMA-267的双层DVD-ROM盘的布局被描绘在图2中。如该标准中所描述的,在OTP型盘L0中,层L0的螺旋方向与层L1的螺旋方向相反。
在方法A中,从半径Rin至Rout(它们对于DVD型介质是24mm和58mm)对第一层L0进行写入。接着,激光点(用于在层中记录数据)从层L0跳至层L1,并写入数据的剩余部分。根据将要记录在盘上的数据量,对层L1进行写入直到一确定半径。然而,为了保证在现有的DVD播放器(尤其是DVD视频和DVD-ROM播放器)上进行重放,层L1的剩余部分必须也要进行写入(例如用伪数据)。这是因为当搜寻命令的目标位于另一层上时,某些播放器会从一个层立即跳至另一层。如果在层跳跃之后没有发现数据(因为跳至的位置没有记录数据),则很有可能发生碰撞和/或报告致命错误,因为当在盘上的那个位置没有写入数据时则不能执行跟踪。通过写入长的导出区域,如在图1的左手侧所示的,与现有DVD播放器的兼容性能够得到保证。然而,这可能需要长的附加时间来写入导出区域(最终化)。
该附加时间可通过应用如权利要求7中所述的根据本发明的记录方法B得到避免。这里数据被均等的分割在两层L0和L1之间,这意味着超过某一最大半径Rmax在层L0和层L1上没有写入数据。Rmax的值是可变的,并且取决于将要记录在盘上的数据量。
然而,在记录期间会出现另一个问题。当激光点从层L0跳至层L1时,在能继续进行记录之前,必须在层L1上执行最佳功率控制(OPC)过程。如本领域技术人员众所周知的,最佳功率控制过程是用于确定在盘的一个层上记录信息的实际最佳写入功率的过程。该最佳写入功率取决于盘、记录器和实际使用的记录速度。因此,应该在实际的记录速度下对于每个记录器/盘的组合确定该最佳写入功率。该最佳功率控制过程通常是在盘上的尤其是为此目的保留的固定区域,即所谓的OPC区域执行的。
当该OPC区域位于盘的内径或外径时,如对于单层介质的情况,首先必须执行对那个(内部或外部)半径的访问。该跳跃要求某一额外的时间量。尤其是当在CLV模式下进行记录时,在跳跃包括盘旋转速度变化的情况下,可能需要相当大量的额外时间。在该额外时间期间,数据流通常继续,必须要将所述数据流捕捉进缓冲存储器中。因此这种缓冲器必须比没有跳跃时所需的大。注意OPC过程是在从层L0切换至层L1时“匆忙(on the fly)”执行的。
本发明的另一个目的是提供一种减少额外时间量的方法。该目的是通过提供如前言所述的方法实现的,所述方法的特征在于在可变化的位于双层盘的至少一个层(L0,L1)上的OPC区域中执行最佳功率控制过程。
根据本发明的方法和记录器意味着OPC区域的位置是可变的。所述位置取决于将要记录在盘上的数据量。在一优选实施例中,根据本发明的方法和记录器使用位于第二层L1上的OPC区域,该OPC区域被布置成相对靠近数据流从第一层切换至第二层的半径(例如方法B中的Rmax)。该半径取决于将要记录在盘上的信息量。
在根据本发明的方法的一种形式中,OPC区域位于层L1的所谓中间区中以便在层跳跃的半径处实现快速的“匆忙”的OPC过程(如图3所示,其中MZ0代表位于层L0中的中间区的部分,而MZ1代表位于层L1中的中间区部分)。对于DVD-ROM盘在上述的标准ECMA-267中定义了该中间区。
根据标准ECMA-267,每层中的信息区(或数据区)具有一中间区,以允许激光点从层L0移至层L1。这被显示在图4中。中间区可被看作是双层盘上的一种中间导出区域。根据该标准,中间区延伸1mm超过层L0上的最后写入的位置。这足以并入一个OPC区域。然而注意OPC区域可延伸超过中间区的1mm的边界。
注意本发明的额外优点在于可更加准确的确定层跳跃之后的最佳写入功率。当在层跳跃之后将要在盘的内径或外径处执行OPC过程时,这将不会导致最佳的功率控制,因为OPC过程是在不同于层L1上的实际记录开始位置的位置进行的。在外侧的盘性质可不同于在实际记录位置的性质。
在根据本发明的方法的一种形式中,在一固定的和保留的OPC区域执行另外的最佳功率控制过程。类似于单层盘,这种固定的OPC区域可位于盘的内径和/或外径处。可例如在层L0上开始进行写入时执行该另外的最佳功率控制过程以确定将要使用的初始最佳写入功率。另外,可单独的对每个层确定一初始最佳写入功率。
虽然已经参照上述的实施例阐释了本发明,但很显然可替换的使用其它实施例来实现相同的目的。因此本发明的范围并不局限于上述的实施例,而是也可应用于所有种类的可记录介质(一次写入型的和可重写型的),类似例如DVD+R、DVD+RW、DVD-R、DVD-RW、DVD-RAM和蓝光盘。
另外,在上述的实施例中,通过将数据首先写入层L0然后写入层L1解释了本发明。然而,应该注意当将数据首先写入层L1随后写入层L0时,本发明也同样工作良好。此外,本发明的范围并不仅仅限于双层盘,而是也可应用于包括两个以上的用于存储数据的层的多层盘。
Claims (8)
1.一种用于在双层可记录盘上记录信息的记录方法,所述方法包括执行最佳功率控制(OPC)过程以确定实际的最佳写入功率的步骤,所述最佳功率控制过程是在盘上的OPC区域中执行的,其特征在于在可变化的位于双层盘的至少一层(L0,L1)上的OPC区域中执行最佳功率控制过程。
2.如权利要求1所述的记录方法,其中OPC区域在双层盘的至少一层上的位置取决于将要在盘上记录的信息量。
3.如权利要求2所述的记录方法,其中OPC区域位于双层盘的至少一层的中间区中。
4.如权利要求1所述的记录方法,还包括执行另外的执行最佳功率控制(OPC)过程的步骤,所述另外的最佳功率控制过程是在位于双层盘的至少一层(L0,L1)上的一固定位置处并且保留用于另外的最佳功率控制过程的另一OPC区域中执行的。
5.如权利要求4所述的记录方法,其中所述另外的最佳功率控制过程是在位于双层盘的第一层(L0)上的第一固定OPC区域中和位于双层盘的第二层(L1)上的第二固定OPC区域中执行的。
6.一种用于在双层可记录盘上记录信息的记录装置,其适于使用根据权利要求1,2,3,4或5中任何一个所述的方法。
7.一种用于在双层可记录盘上记录信息的记录方法,其特征在于将要进行记录的信息被基本上均等的分割在双层盘的第一层(L0)和第二层(L1)之间,并被写入到所述第一和第二层中使得超过一最大半径(Rmax)在两层(L0,L1)上不写入数据。
8.一种用于在双层可记录盘上记录信息的记录装置,其适于使用根据权利要求7所述的方法。
