Abstract
一种流体过滤器(20)包括一过滤器外壳(22)和一过滤器模块(24、40)。所述过滤器模块(24、40)包括一过滤介质(38)和一可熔化的密封件(26或28)。所述可熔化的密封件(26和28)粘接至所述过滤介质(38)的一部分并与所述外壳(22)配合以防止流体绕过所述过滤介质(38)。

技术领域
本发明涉及过滤器,特别是涉及用于车用流体的过滤器及制造此种过滤器的方法。
背景技术
流体过滤器用于从流体中滤去污染物。过滤器通常包括一个过滤器模块,该模块包括一个待过滤流体流经的过滤介质。该过滤器模块安装于一外壳内。流体流进外壳到过滤介质的一侧,流经该介质至过滤介质的另一侧,并从所述外壳排出。这样污染物被过滤介质捕获。
在一种通用的装置中,过滤介质包括打摺的过滤材料。所述打摺的过滤材料形成一有外侧壁和内侧壁的圆柱体。然后端部密封。进入过滤器内的流体从内侧壁至外侧壁流经过滤材料或反之亦可。用于密封过滤介质圆柱体端部的端帽使用粘合剂与端部耦连。
发明内容
在本发明的一个方面,一种制造过滤器模块的方法包括,提供一个可熔化元件和粘接到该可熔化元件上的过滤介质。该方法还包括熔化该可熔化元件的至少一部分,以及使过滤介质与可熔化元件的熔化部分接触。该方法还包括允许可化熔元件的熔化部分在过滤介质与熔化部分接触时重新凝固且。
在本发明的另一个方面中,和一具有外壳的流体过滤器一起使用的过滤器模块包括构造为可至少部分地容放于外壳内的过滤介质。该过滤器模块还包括可熔化密封件,该密封件与过滤介质粘接以与外壳配合防止流体在过滤介质和外壳之间流动。
对于本领域的技术人员而言,在研究下面图示实施方式的详细描述之后,本发明的其他特征将变得显而易见,所述图示实施方式举例说明了可预见的实施本发明的最好方式。

具体实施方式
如图1所示,一流体过滤器20包括一个过滤器外壳22和一个对流经外壳22的流体进行过滤的过滤器模块24。过滤器模块24包括一过滤介质38和粘接至过滤介质38与外壳22形成密封的第一和第二密封件26、28。粘接密封件26、28可防止流体绕开过滤介质38。
密封件26、28由可熔化材料制成。“熔化”是指变为液态或者塑态。密封件26、28熔化后过滤介质38的端部48、50与密封件26、28粘接。图示中,过滤模块24构造为使得不需要附加组件就可以在外壳22和过滤介质38之间产生密封。当然,包括垫圈或类似物以减小密封件26、28和外壳22之间泄漏的可能性也在本发明的范围内。
密封件26、28的形状要与过滤元件40的端部区域47相配合以防止流体绕过过滤介质38并在端部区域47和外壳22之间流过。图示中,每个密封件26、28大致呈平盘状,包括一中心开口66。密封件26、28连接至过滤元件40且开口66与元件40轴向对准,如图2所示。
如图1所示,过滤元件40包括端部区域47之间的中心区域49。过滤元件包括一从元件40的轴线41径向向外的外表面42以及一与之相对的径向向内的内表面44。内表面44限定了一中心区域46,过滤后的流体在流经过滤介质38后流入中心区域46中。尽管图示为一打摺的过滤元件40,但应该理解成过滤元件40可以设置为任何合适的形状或结构。
如图1所示,外壳22包括一端壁30和一从端壁30延伸并与之配合组成过滤室腔34的侧壁32。侧壁32终止于与端壁30间隔开的远端36并与一开口37邻接,过滤模块24可以通过开口37插入和移出。
如图2所示,流体过滤器20包括一过滤器闭合件54,为流体提供进入及流出外壳22的进口和出口。闭合件54与中心管70耦连于中心管70的一端72。管70的另一端74带螺纹,如图1和2所示。闭合件54包括一个或多个入口,图示为多个绕闭合件54距轴线41一定距离形成的入口洞76,入口洞76在组装好的过滤器20内位于过滤模块24的外侧。过滤器20的排出口78与贯穿管70的通道80连通。如图1和2所示,管70包括多个形成于其内的进入开口82以使过滤后流体经排出口78从过滤器20流出。
如图1和2所示,过滤模块24由过滤器闭合件54保持在室腔34内。过滤器闭合件54在图1中图示为与过滤器外壳22耦连以组成过滤器总成20的过滤器底部56。过滤器闭合件54在图2中图示为一过滤器安装盘58,例如,设置于一发动机本体(未图示)上。外壳22和过滤器闭合件54耦连在一起将过滤器模块24保持在室腔34内。图示中,过滤器闭合件54和侧壁32的远端36彼此紧接放置使得中心管60贯穿每个密封件26、28的开口66以及过滤器元件40的中心区域46。图示中,中心管70的螺纹端74耦连于螺纹孔84,螺纹孔84成形于与端壁30耦连的轴套86中,将闭合件54固定于外壳22。当然,任何合适的将外壳22与过滤器闭合件54耦合的方法都在本发明的范畴之内。
如图1和2所示,一垫圈88与闭合件54耦连并与侧壁32的远端36接合,图示中与设置在远端36的径向向外凸出的凸缘33接合。凸缘33与垫圈88接合以将远端36和闭合件54密封。
如图2所示,过滤元件40和外壳22之间形成有一密封件以防止流体绕过过滤介质38并溢出过滤元件40的端部50进入端口78。密封件28紧靠并密封轴套86以在端部50和外壳22之间设置密封。与端壁30接合的密封件28或者耦连于外壳22以在外壳22和过滤介质38之间设置密封的其他结构都在本发明的范围之内。设置垫圈或者其他元件以配合形成密封件28和轴套86或端壁30之间的密封在本发明的范围内。密封件26紧靠并密封过滤器闭合件54以防止流体绕过过滤介质38并溢出过滤介质38的端部48进入端口78。设置垫圈以配合形成密封件26和过滤器闭合件54之间的密封在本发明的范围内。
如图2中标示流体流动的方向箭头所示,流体经闭合件54的入口洞76进入过滤器20并通过开口37进入腔室34。然后流体流经过滤介质38进入过滤元件40的内部46。接着流体经过通道80以及闭合件54的排出口78,流进管70的入口开口82。
如图2和3所示,密封件26、28分别耦连于过滤元件40的端部48、50。密封件26、28由可熔化材料如可熔化树脂或聚合物制造。一能量源,图示为一激光器90,将能量施加于各个密封件26、28的中部区域92以熔化中部区域92。然后将过滤元件40的端部48、50插入或施加至已熔的中部区域92。一旦中部区域92凝固或硬化,密封件26、28密封且耦连至端部48、50。
如图3-7所示,每个密封件26、28包括一中部区域92,该中部区域92由邻近中心开口66的内部区域94以及邻近密封件26或28外周的外部区域96限界。激光器90只熔化中部区域92。如图3所示,中部区域92有足够的径向宽度以容纳过滤介质38。内部和外部区域94、96保持未熔,这样,当过滤元件40插入已熔化的中部区域92时,可以最小化所不希望的已熔化中部区域92径向向内或向外流动或者溢料(flash)。当元件40被施加到已熔的中部区域92时,内部和外部区域94、96防止融化材料由中部区域92移位。
如图4-7所示,通过将来自能量源的能量对准中部区域92而不是对准内部或外部区域94、96,可以融化每个密封件26、28的中部区域92。图4显示可使用镜子和/或透镜(未图示)将来自激光器90的辐射形式的能量对准中部区域92使得能量聚集在中部区域92。图5显示了能量源90的相对运动,如一以辐射形式发射能量的激光器,将能量对准中部区域92或者围绕中部区域92,并且导致每个密封件26、28的中部区域92熔化。通过绕中心轴线98转动每个密封件26、28可获得所述相对运动。另外,激光器90也可绕轴线98运动以熔化中部区域92。图6显示了一包括相对转动及相对倾斜的组合相对运动以实现能量源90对跨越中部区域92宽度的往复扫描。另一方面,这种相对转动及相对倾斜也可以通过移动能量源90和密封件26或28中的任一个或者同时移动两者来获得,不过也可以很直接地通过绕轴线98旋转密封件26或28并同时倾斜或“摆动”能量源90来获得这种相对运动。图7显示了使用一遮罩装置99以遮掩内部和外部区域94、96避开能量源90。这样只有中部区域92被熔化。任何具有足够输出功率可以熔化中部区域92的能量源90都在本发明的范围内。
目前计划选择激光器用作能量源90,但使用其他用以熔化区域92的能量源如红外灯、电阻加热器及类似物均在本发明的范畴之内。由任何与将要过滤的流体不发生反应、符合其它如抗热和/或机械冲击性能等环境需要、同时可以选择性地熔化中间区域92而不熔化内部和外部区域94、96的材料制造密封件26、28都在本发明的范围内。应该理解,中部区域92和内部区域94以及外部区域96之间将会出现一些热传递,并且内部区域94和外部区域96也有一定量的熔化,这是可以接受的。
密封件26、28可使用允许过滤介质38施加其上的任何适合的能熔材料制作。在中部区域92硬化或凝固之后,密封件26、28与过滤介质38配合、粘接、锁位或成为一体。过滤介质38可以包括任何合适的过滤材料如,纤维素、多孔的聚合材料、金属丝或其它适合的材料。
制造和/或装配流体过滤器20的方法包括将来自能量源90的能量施加至中部区域92以使之熔化。一旦区域92熔化,过滤器元件40的端部48、59之一被施加至中部区域92。然后中部区域重新凝固,将密封件26、28粘接于相应的端部48、50。该过程也用于将密封件26、28中的另一个粘接到端部48、50中的另一个。
虽然图示给出了一些大致呈盘状的密封件26、28,但密封件26、28中的一个或两个设置为任何适于构建过滤元件40的形状都在本发明的范围内。同样,不管是同时熔化密封件26、28两者的中部区域92并同时完成装配过滤元件40,还是不同时熔化且顺序地装配过滤元件40,都在本发明的范围内。尽管过滤介质38图示为放入圆柱元件40中的打摺的结构,但其可以设置为任何合适结构,与适当结构的密封件26、28以及过滤器外壳22配合以过滤流经的流体。另外,使用此处发明的设备和方法作为任何流体过滤器或者与其一起使用,包括引擎以及传动油过滤器、液压流体过滤器、空气过滤器、燃油过滤器、以及其他过滤器,都在本
发明的范围内。
虽然已经参考特定图示特征或具体实施方式详细描述了本发明,但是在所示及所述本发明的范围和主旨内具有各种变形和修改。
Claims (20)
1.一种制造一过滤器模块的方法,该方法包括如下步骤:
提供一第一可熔化的元件,
提供一用于粘接至所述第一可熔化元件的过滤介质,
熔化所述第一可熔化的元件的至少一部分,
使所述过滤介质与所述第一可熔化元件的熔化部分接触,并且
使所述第一可熔化的元件的熔化部分在所述过滤介质与所述熔化部分相接触的同时重新凝固。
2.一种由如权利要求1所述的方法制成的过滤器模块。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括:
提供一第二可熔化的元件,
熔化所述第二可熔化的元件的至少一部分,
在距离所述第一可熔化的元件一定间隔处使所述过滤介质与所述第二可熔化的元件的熔化部分接触,以及
使所述第二可熔化的元件的熔化部分在所述过滤介质与所述熔化部分相接触的同时重新凝固。
4.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,提供一第一可熔化的元件包括提供一包括可熔化的树脂或聚合物的第一可熔化的元件,所述可熔树脂或聚合物暴露于合适强度的能量经足够时间,而达到融化所述树脂或聚合物而使所述树脂或聚合物达到塑态。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法,还包括:
提供一第二可熔化的元件,熔化所述第二可熔化的元件的至少一部分,在距离所述第一可熔化的元件一定间隔处使所述过滤介质与所述第二可熔化的元件的熔化部分相接触,并使得第二可熔化的元件的熔化部分在所述过滤介质与所述熔化部分相接触的同时重新凝固,所述第一可熔化的元件和所述第二可熔化的元件粘接至所述过滤介质的相对端。
6.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中,熔化所述第一可熔化的元件的至少一部分包括使用激光器熔化所述第一可熔化的元件的至少一部分。
7.一种用于具有外壳的流体过滤器的过滤器模块,包括:
一构造为至少部分地容置于所述外壳中的过滤介质,所述过滤介质允许流体从其流过而阻止污染物从其经过,
一密封件,其粘接至所述过滤介质以与所述外壳配合从而防止流体在所述过滤介质和所述外壳之间流动,该密封件是可熔化的。
8.如权利要求7所述的过滤器模块,其中,所述过滤介质多细孔且所述密封件通过熔化所述密封件的至少一部分并允许所述密封件熔化的至少一部分流进所述细孔中而粘接至所述过滤介质。
9.如权利要求7所述的过滤器模块,其中,所述过滤介质被做成一圆筒。
10.如权利要求9所述的过滤器模块,其中,所述过滤介质呈摺状。
11.如权利要求9所述的过滤器模块,其中,所述密封件粘接至所述圆筒的一端,且所述圆筒有一纵向延伸穿过该圆筒的孔腔,且流体流进所述外壳并从所述圆筒外侧经过,穿过所述过滤介质进入所述孔腔。
12.如权利要求7所述的过滤器模块,其中,所述密封件包括一材料,该材料在暴露于足够强度的能量到达足够长的时间段时可以熔化。
13.一种用于过滤流体的流体过滤器总成,其包括一外壳、一具有一邻近所述外壳的第一部分以及一流体从中流过的第二部分的过滤介质、和一第一可熔密封件,该第一可熔密封件粘接至所述过滤介质的第一部分以阻止流体在该可熔化的密封件和所述第一部分之间流动。
14.如权利要求13所述的总成,其中,所述第一可熔化的密封件包括可熔化的树脂或聚合物,所述可熔化的树脂或聚合物在暴露于合适强度的能量经足够长的时间而达到融化所述树脂或聚合物而使所述树脂或聚合物达到塑态,而将所述可熔化的密封件粘接至所述过滤介质的第一部分。
15.如权利要求13所述的总成,其中,所述外壳包括一端壁和一从该端壁延伸的侧壁,所述过滤介质至少部分地位于所述外壳内,且所述第一可熔化的密封件放置于所述端壁和所述过滤介质的第二部分之间。
16.如权利要求13所述的总成,还包括一第二可熔化的密封件,所述过滤介质还包括一第三部分,且所述第二可熔化的密封件粘接至所述第三部分。
17.如权利要求16所述的总成,其中,所述过滤介质的第二部分位于所述第一部分和第三部分之间。
18.如权利要求16所述的总成,还包括一具有一流体进入口和一流体排出口的过滤器闭合件,该过滤器闭合件与所述外壳和所述第二可熔化的密封件配合以阻止流体绕过所述过滤介质从所述流体进入口流至所述流体排出口。
19.如权利要求18所述的总成,其中,所述过滤器闭合件耦连至所述外壳。
20.如权利要求18所述的总成,其中,所述第一可熔化的密封件与所述外壳的端壁接合,使得所述过滤元件位于所述第一和第二可熔化的密封件以及所述外壳的端壁和所述过滤器闭合件之间。
