背景技术
目前,具有粘接剂相富集表面区域的涂层硬质合金刀片通常用于车削钢和不锈钢材料。粘接剂相富集表面区域拓宽了朝着更坚韧的切削操作的应用。

发明内容

具体实施方式
根据本发明,提供一种涂层刀具刀片,它由一硬质合金主体构成,该主体其成分为:其含量为7-12wt%、优选为8-11wt%、最优选为8.5-9.5wt%的Co,含量为5-11wt%、优选为6.5-9.5wt%的元素周期表中IVb、Vb和VIb族金属中的立方碳化物,优选该金属为Ti、Nb和Ta,以及衡量的WC。Ta和Nb的重量浓度(weight concentration)之间的比例为1.0-3.0,优选为1.5-2.5。Ti和Nb的重量浓度之间的比例为0.5-1.5,优选为0.8-1.2。

根据本发明现在已经发现,如果硬质合金主体其S值为0.79-0.89、优选为0.81-0.85,则可以实现改善切削性能。
另外,在磨削抛光的代表横截面上测量出的碳化钨相的平均截取长度为0.7-1.4μm,优选为0.9-1.3μm,最优选为1.1-1.3μm。该截取长度是通过在放大率为10000×的照片上进行图像分析测量出的,并且计算成大约1000个截取长度的平均值。
在一个实施方案中,硬质合金形成为其所有三个相在该材料中均匀分布。
在优选实施方案中,硬质合金层其厚度为10-40μm,优选为20-40μm,最优选为20-30μm厚,基本上没有立方碳化物相,并且粘接剂相富集表面区域其平均粘接剂相含量为标准粘接剂相含量的1.2-2.5倍。

在一优选实施方案中,在α-Al2O3层上面具有一层Ti、Zr和Hf中的一种或多种的碳化物、氮化物、碳氮化物或碳氧氮化物层,其厚度为0.5至3μm,优选为0.5至1.5μm。
整个涂层厚度应该为7-15μm,优选为8-13μm。
α-Al2O3层由具有强(012)织构的柱状晶粒构成。这些柱状晶粒其长/宽比为2至10,优选为4至8,其宽度为0.5-3.0μm,优选为0.5-2.0μm,最优选为0.5-1.5μm。
α-Al2O3层的织构系数(TC)如下确定:
TC ( hkl ) = I ( hkl ) I O ( hkl ) { 1 n Σ I ( hkl ) I O ( hkl ) } - 1
其中
I(hkl)=(hkl)反射的测量强度
IO(hkl)=根据JCPDS卡No.46-1212的标准强度
n=在计算中所使用的反射数量
所使用的(hkl)反射为:(012),(104),(110),(113),(024),(116)
氧化铝层的织构定义如下:
TC(012)>2.2,优选为2.8-3.5,并且相关的TC(024)>0.6×TC(012),同时TC(104),TC(110),TC(113),TC(116)<0.4,优选为<0.3。
要指出的是,晶面012和024的强度是相关的。
将α-Al2O3层沉积在优选通过MTCVD获得的Ti(C,N)涂层。如在瑞典专利申请0201417-3中所述一样需要几个步骤来控制成核。首先,在Ti(C,N)层上沉积一层在US5,137,774中所述的改性粘接层(在该专利中被称为kappa粘接),其特征在于具有Al浓度梯度。在该情况中在CO2/H2/N2气体混合物进行受控氧化处理,从而得到比在0201417-3中更低的O潜能,从而进一步增强了(012)织构。氧化步骤是短暂的,随后可以用AlCl3/H2混合物进行短暂的处理,随后再次进行短暂的氧化步骤。这种脉动(Al处理/氧化作用)处理将形成令人满意的α-Al2O3的成核位置和强(012)织构。通过按照以下顺序依次施加这些反应气体来开始使氧化铝层生长到表面改性粘接层上:CO,AlCl3,CO2。温度优选应该大约为1000℃。
实施例
实施例1发明
通过对原料粉末进行常规研磨、挤压生坯并且随后在1430℃下进行烧结来生产出根据本发明的硬质合金基底,其组分为9.0wt%Co、3.6wt%TaC、2.2wt%NbC、2.9wt%(Ti,W)C 50/50(H.C.Starck)、1.1wt%TiN以及衡量的WC,并且与W合金化的粘接剂相对应于0.83的S值。在烧结之后对微观结果进行观察表明,该硬质合金刀片具有厚度为22μm的无立方碳化物区域。在该区域中的钴浓度为在基底的总体中的浓度的1.4倍。碳化钨相的平均截取长度为1.2μm。
实施例2
按照步骤1(下面)用一层MTCVD Ti(C,N)涂覆从实施例1中得到的硬质合金切削刀片。MTCVD层的厚度大约为6μm。将以下氧化铝层沉积到该层上:
a)按照步骤2-6沉积5μm厚的α-Al2O3:(本发明)。
步骤1:MTCVD涂覆
气体混合物    TiCl4        =4.0%
              CH3CN        =1.0%
              N2           =20%
              衡量          H2
              持续时间      150分钟
              温度          850℃
              压力          100毫巴
步骤2:粘接层
气体混合物    TiCl4        =2.8%

              CO            =5.8%
              CO2          =2.2%

              温度          1000℃

b)按照现有技术沉积5μm的κ-Al2O3,其中在没有氧化作用的情况下沉积κ-Al2O3层,从而导致κ-Al2O3在Ti(C,N)上外延生长。(现有技术)
c)按照现有技术沉积5μm的α-Al2O3。在该情况中成核控制没有形成100%纯α-Al2O3,而是代替产生出κ-Al2O3和α-Al2O3的混合物。因此κ-Al2O3相在沉积过程中转变成具有高错位密度的α-Al2O3。(现有技术),
试验涂层的整体涂覆厚度在所有情况中都为11μm。
实施例3
采用XRD对从实施例2a和2c(α氧化物)得到的刀片。涂层c具有随机的织构,但是根据本发明的涂层a显示出清晰的(012)织构。表1显示出涂层a所获得的织构系数。

实施例4
在下面条件下相对于根据现有技术的刀片(从实施例2中得到的涂层),对根据从实施例2得到的本发明(涂层a)的刀片进行测试。
工件:         圆棒
刀片类型:     CNMG120408-M3
切削速度       220m/分钟
进刀量         0.4mm/转
切削深度       2.5mm
切削时间       4.7分钟
备注:         在没有冷却剂的情况下进行间歇切削
在图2显示出在经过4.7分钟切削之后的刀刃。根据现有技术产生出的刀片显示出严重的刀刃碎片和弧坑磨损,而根据本发明的那些刀片没有任何碎片。在这些刀片上的磨损非常均匀,并且这些刀片可以使用更长时间。
这表明具有根据本发明的织构的α-Al2O3具有比根据现有技术生产出的α-Al2O3更坚韧并且更耐磨的性能。
实施例5
在金属切削中对从实施例2中得到的刀片a)和b)进行比较。涂层a由根据本发明的无缺陷α-Al2O3构成,而涂层b由根据现有技术的κ-Al2O3构成。测试条件如下:
工件:          圆柱形开槽棒
材料:          SS1672-08
刀片类型:      CNMG120408-M5
切削速度        80m/分钟
进刀量在10mm切削长度之后逐渐增加0.1,0.125,0.16,0.20,0.315,0.4,0.5,0.63,0.8,1.0mm/转
切削深度        2.0mm
备注:          在没有冷却剂的情况下进行间歇机加工模式测试
刀具寿命标准:  逐渐增加进刀量直到断裂。测试到每个变型的10刀刃。
在图3中给出了这些结果。
从在图3中的结果中可以看出,由具有一织构的α-Al2O3构成的根据本发明的刀片其韧性比根据现有技术生产出的κ-Al2O3的那些好得多。
实施例6
在下面的条件下对从实施例2得出的涂层a和b进行测试。
工件:          圆棒
材料:          SS1672-08
刀片类型:      CNMG120408-M5
切削速度        250m/分钟
进刀量          0.4mm/转
切削深度        2.0mm
切削时间        3.6分钟
备注:          在没有冷却剂的情况下进行间歇机加工模式测试;测试每个变型的三个刀刃。
涂覆有κ-Al2O3的现有技术刀片在3.6分钟切削之后出现严重的塑性变形,而根据本发明生产出的那些刀片其塑性变形非常小。显然α-Al2O3防止塑性变形的能力优异。
实施例7
通过对不锈钢进行间歇车削来测试以下三个变型。
a.本发明的实施例2a
b.用于对不锈钢进行间歇车削的来自竞争者1的强烈推荐的钢号
c.用于对不锈钢进行间歇车削的来自竞争者2的强烈推荐的钢号
工件:        圆棒
材料:        8S2343
刀片类型:    CNMG120408-M3
切削速度      150m/分钟
进刀量        0.4mm/转
切削深度      2.0mm
切削时间      7.6分钟
备注:    在没有冷却剂的情况下进行间歇机加工模式测试;测试每个变型的三个刀刃。
在7.6分钟之后,测量这三个变型的侧面磨损:
变型          侧面磨损
a.本发明      0.20
b.竞争者      0.29
c.竞争者      0.26
这些结果表明具有带有根据本发明织构的α-Al2O3的硬质合金刀具与竞争者产品相比具有更长的刀具寿命。
实施例8
在普通碳钢的连续车削中还测试在实施例5和6中的测试的相同变型。
工件:        圆棒
材料:        SS1672-08
刀片类型:    CNMG120412-M3
切削速度      300m/分钟
进刀量        0.4mm/转
切削深度      2.0mm
备注:        在有冷却剂的情况下进行连续切削
刀具寿命标准:侧面磨损>0.3mm,测试每个变型的三个刀刃
结果          刀具寿命(分钟)
本发明        9.0
现有技术      6.0
测试结果表明,根据本发明的即具有带有一织构的α-Al2O3的涂层的硬质合金刀具在连续切削中其刀具寿命比具有κ-Al2O3的现有技术材料更长。
因此,上面的实施例显示出,根据本发明的硬质合金在耐磨性和韧性方面都优于现有技术材料。

Claims (6)

1.一种切削刀具刀片,用于对钢进行中度粗车削的需要韧性的机加工,并且还用于车削不锈钢,该刀片由包括硬质合金基底和涂层,其特征在于:
所述硬质合金基底包含有,
WC、7-12wt%的Co、5-11wt%的元素周期表中IVb、Vb和VIb族金属的立方碳化物,
Co粘接剂,它与W高合金化并且具有0.79-0.89的S值,
碳化钨相具有0.7-1.4μm的平均截取长度,并且
所述涂层包含至少一层由具有以下织构系数的柱状α-Al2O3晶粒构成的厚度为2-12μm的氧化铝层,
a)TC(012)>2.2,优选为2.5-3.5并且相关的TC(024)>0.6×TC(012),
b)TC(104),TC(110),TC(113),TC(116)都<0.4,优选<0.3
织构系数TC(hkl)定义如下:
TC ( hkl ) = I ( hkl ) I O ( hkl ) { 1 n Σ I ( hkl ) I O ( hkl ) } - 1
其中,
I(hkl)=(hkl)反射的测量强度,
Io(hkl)=根据JCPDS卡No.46-1212的标准强度,
n=在计算中所使用的反射数量,
所使用的(hkl)反射为:(012),(104),(110),(113),(024),(116)。
2.如前面权利要求1所述的刀片,其特征在于,所述柱状α-Al2O3晶粒其长/宽比为2至10,优选为4至8。
3.如前面权利要求中任一项所述的刀片,其特征在于,包括与硬质合金基底相邻的第一层,所述基底为CVD Ti(C,N)、CVD TiN、CVDTiC、MTCVD Ti(C,N)、MTCVD Zr(C,N)、MTCVD Ti(B,C,N)、CVD HfN或其组合,优选为MTCVD Ti(C,N),所述第一层厚度为1至10μm优选为3至8μm最优选为大约6μm。
4.如前面权利要求中任一项所述的刀片,其特征在于,整个涂层厚度应该为7-15μm,优选为8-13μm。
5.如前面权利要求中任一项所述的刀片,其特征在于,所述烧结基底的碳化钨相其平均截取长度为0.9-1.3μm。
6.如前面权利要求中任一项所述的涂层刀具刀片,其特征在于,所述硬质合金具有富集粘接剂相并且基本上没有立方碳化物的表面区域,其厚度为10-40μm。
