                   背景技术
当观看以前记录的节目时视频录像机允许通过快速前进通过商业节目而跳过它们。对于基于新的硬盘驱动的录像机，有可能在“实况”电视中跳过商业节目。在技术上，这需要通过视频超高速缓存器使个人正在观看的节目在硬盘驱动上缓冲，以及被播放出的节目实际上稍微有时间偏移。用户已经被给予去定制他们的电视经历的手段，且作为结果，业务提供者部分地失去了对观众经历的控制。用户现在能够决定何时观看或跳过以及观看或者跳过哪些内容。

在为基本业务支付的第一费用之上支付附加费后该增强的业务可提供。该附加费可随基本费用而按每日、每星期、每月或按使用期限支付。附加费可以是一次性支付，用于在给定的周期内自动去除广告。在本发明的另一个商业模型中，附加费是按被存储在设备126的贮存装置中的无商业节目项来收取的。该费用也可以是按一个被记录节目的无商业节目收看来收取的。该费用也可能基于广播的时间。在峰值观众时间播放的著名电视演出期间跳过商业节目，可能比在深夜播放的电视节目期间跳过商业节目收取更高的费用。这里没有提到且基于在播放出一条内容时对订户收取自动去除或跳过广告的附加业务费用的商业模型也是在本发明的范围内。
在本发明的实施例中，来自增强业务的订户的附加收益被重新分布给内容广播者100，这样广播者100可以补偿在直接广告收益中的不可避免的下降。然而，在本实施例中，收益流不是直接从用户106流动到内容广播者100。业务提供者102收集由用户106支付的预订费，以及把收集的收益重新分布给各个广播者，例如，广播者100。因此，考虑广播者100也按照本发明的方法提供业务给用户106是在本发明的范围内。事实上，广播者100广播由用户106接收的内容信息123。在用户106支付附加费后，广播者100例如通过提供指示商业节目456在内容123中的位置的信号110，而使得用户106的设备126能够自动播放无广告的内容。因此，提供者102和广播者100按照本发明的方法提供业务。在另一个实施例中，业务提供者102和广播者100共享由基本业务和增强业务产生的收益。
本领域技术人员应当看到，信息广播不是被包括在本发明中的仅有传输技术，而是可以使用任何其他传输技术，例如，流动的或点对点的传输。
图2是显示本发明的另一个分发方案的另一个方框图。广播者100发送内容信息789。内容信息789是代表节目或一部分节目的一组数据，以及被广播到设备124、126和128。内容789不包括商业节目456。商业节目456是从广告数据库200中被接收的。例如，内容789的广播可以是全国性的，而商业节目206的传输可以本地地完成，以便用本地广告来对准本地观众。商业节目456可以在设备124-128中被本地地插入在内容789。在另一个实施例中，商业节目456和内容123在靠近设备124-128的中间广播站中被组合。当内容789被实况播放出时或当内容789被本地地记录在设备124-128的贮存装置中时，商业节目456可被插入内容789。广播者100可以通过链路202与数据库200通信，以便同步内容789的广播和商业节目456的广播。
例如，用户104和108已预订到基本业务，以及用户106已预订到增强的业务。如前所述，当播放内容789时，使得设备126能够自动跳过商业节目456。为此，广播者100发送信号204给设备124、126和128。信号204允许将设备126配置成当播放出内容789时自动跳过该商业节目456。信号204可以是一组只可被设备126读出的加密的数据。例如，设备126包括由可以远程动作的控制器运行的软件应用。响应于信号204，控制器运行该软件应用来配置设备126，以使得可以播放无广告的内容。该软件应用把设备126配置成忽视商业节目456在内容789中的插入，以及作为结果，设备126这样地播放内容789。
图3是设备126的方框图。设备126包括电视节目指南模块304、解密单元和识别单元306。设备126需要基于规律地更新内部存储的电视节目指南。这是例如每星期地完成的。为此，设备126例如通过电话线拨号连接到业务提供者102。当拨号时，ID单元306发送识别数据310到业务提供者102。业务提供者102从数据310来识别用户106为增强业务的订户。提供者102发送信号112到设备126。信号112代表新的电视节目指南308，以及信号112也包括加密的时间印记316，指示商业节目456在内容123中的位置。提供者102可以通过使用RSA公共加密技术来加密该时间印记316。公用密钥加密牵涉到一对密钥：一个公用密钥和一个私用密钥。该公用密钥是已知的，而私用密钥被保持为秘密的。用公用密钥加密的数据只能用私用密钥被解密。私用密钥已被存储在ID单元306中。提供者102可以从信号310识别要被使用来加密数据的公用密钥，这些加密的数据将能够由设备126来解密。公用密钥可被存储在ID单元306，或指示公用密钥的信息可被存储在单元306中。提供者102通过使用此公用密钥来加密时间印记316。该信号112被模块304接收。
模块304从信号112再现节目指南308。模块304被配置成再现该指南308的第一区310，指示频道播放内容123和指示内容123本身。模块304也再现第二区312和第三区314，分别指示内容123的广播的开始和结束。第四区包括时间印记316，它由解密单元302再现。单元302通过使用由ID单元306提供的私用密钥来解密该时间印记316。时间印记316指示在内容123中商业节目456的位置和长度。从解密的时间印记，设备126能够从内容123中跳过商业节目456。
图4是设备126的另一个示例性方框图。在这个例子中，设备126在把内容123记录在视频贮存单元414之前，从内容123中去除商业节目456。
调谐器402接收广播内容123和把内容123发送到视频编码器404和XDS译码器410。XDS译码器410能够以本领域公知的方式从内容123中提取XDS(扩展的数据业务)数据。XDS数据在内容123中连同接近的标题数据和文本数据一起被发送。XDS数据包括一个节目识别号，允许去识别内容123的开始时间和与等同的世界时间相关的日期。该XDS数据在一个节目中指示当前的时间。因此，译码器410可以从内容123的XDS数据，实时地指示在播放或接收内容123中所消逝的时间。译码器410提供内容123的时间参考。在本实施例中，译码器410把消逝的时间信息存储在视频贮存单元414。
视频编码器404从调谐器402接收内容123。编码器404以适合于在单元414中贮存的格式，例如MPEG-2，来编码接收的内容123。编码器404把编码的内容123提供到缓冲器406，以及中央处理单元408控制把编码的内容123从缓冲器406转移到贮存单元414。
控制器412控制在贮存单元414中内容123的无商业节目的记录。控制器412接收与来自译码器410的、与内容123有关的消逝的时间信息。译码器410可以与从接收的内容123中提取XDS数据同时地、把消逝的时间信息实时提供到控制器412。控制器412比较消逝的时间信息和时间印记316，指示内容123中商业节目456的暂时出现。根据该比较，控制器412监视PCU以省略商业节目456在贮存单元414中的记录。内容123被无广告地存储在该单元414中。设备126然后能够播放无商业节目的内容123。
图5上给出设备126的另一个示例性方框图。在本实施例中，内容123与商业节目456一起被存储在贮存单元414中。调谐器402接收广播内容123，以及把内容123发送到视频编码器404。编码器404例如以MPEG-2格式对内容123进行编码，以及把编码的内容123发送到缓冲器406。CPU 408控制内容123从缓冲器406转移到单元414。译码器410从内容1 23中提取XDS数据，以及推断出在内容123播放时消逝的时间。译码器410把推断出的消逝时间发送到PCU 408，以使得消逝时间信息在被贮存在单元414之前可以与编码的内容123相复用。控制器412也提供时间印记316到贮存单元414中。
设备126包括重放控制单元416，用于控制被存储在单元414中的内容123的播出。单元416比较消逝的时间信息和时间印记316(二者被存储在单元414中)以便检测内容123中的商业节目456。当播放出内容时，单元416控制CPU 408跳过商业节目456。因此，无商业节目的内容123被发送到视频译码器418，然后译码器418把内容123播放给用户106。
单词“包括”并不排除存在权利要求中所列出之外的其他单元或步骤。

Claims (16)

1.一种提供业务给用户的方法，该方法包括：
在由用户支付第一费用后，把包括商业信息的内容信息发送到该用户的设备，该设备被配置成使能跳过该内容信息的任何部分；以及
在由该用户支付附加费用后，使得该用户的设备能够在播放该内容信息时自动跳过该商业信息。
2.权利要求1的方法，还包括：
使得该设备能够在记录该内容信息时去除该商业信息。
3.权利要求1的方法，还包括：
发送代表该商业信息的暂时出现的信号；以及
根据该信号，使得该设备能够在该商业信息期间中断该内容信息的记录。
4.权利要求1的方法，还包括：
发送用于标识在该内容信息中的商业信息的信号；以及
根据该信号，使得该设备能够从该内容信息的记录中省略该商业信息。
5.权利要求1的方法，其中当播放出该内容信息的被记录版本时，使得该设备能够自动地跳过该商业信息。
6.权利要求1的方法，还包括：
使得用户能够撤销该商业信息的自动跳过。
7.权利要求1的方法，还包括：
对于每次自动跳过商业信息，收取该附加费用
8.权利要求1的方法，还包括：
广播该内容信息和/或使该内容信息流动到该用户的设备。
9.权利要求1的方法，其中内容信息代表电视节目和/或无线电节目的一部分。
10.一种消费者电子设备，包括：
接收机，能够接收包括内容信息的第一信号，该内容信息包括商业信息；以及能够接收指示在该内容信息中商业信息的出现的第二信号；
以及控制单元，能够使用该第二信号来跳过该内容信息中的任何部分的商业信息。
11.权利要求10的设备，其中控制单元能够在把该内容信息记录到贮存装置时去除该商业信息。
12.权利要求10的设备，其中控制单元能够在播放出该内容信息的被记录版本时，自动跳过该商业信息。
13.一种电子设备，包括能够发送代表在内容信息中商业信息的出现的信号的发送器。
14.权利要求13的设备，其中商业信息代表该内容信息中的时间上的分段。
15.权利要求13的设备，其中商业信息包括被插入在该内容信息中的一组数据。
16.一种系统，包括：
-一个能够发送包括内容信息的第一信号的部件；
-一个能够发送指示在该内容信息中商业信息的出现的第二信号的部件；
-一个能够接收该第一和第二信号以及能够使用该第二信号来跳过该内容信息中的任何部分的商业信息的部件。
