技术领域
本发明涉及电话学，尤其涉及查找并呼叫存储在电话机或相关装置中的电话号码。
背景技术
电话机可以存储相当大数目的电话号码。电话用户可以放弃纸制电话本，或个人地址簿。尤其是对于无线电话是如此。该特征能防止丢失或忘记电话号码。
通常，每个电话号码与被呼叫者的姓名关联。这些姓名以某些方便的顺序列出，一般按字母顺序。电话用户滚动这些姓名，选择他想要拨打的，并按发送键。这不需要在键盘上手动地输入正确的号码。通过在电话(或某些关联装置，如个人数字助理)中建立电话号码可以快速地呼叫号码，并能防止电话号码被丢失或遗忘。
发明内容
申请人注意到该特征的高度普及造成它的衰败。在电话机中配置大量存储器相对廉价且方便，这允许将一长串号码列表存储在电话机中。这种较长的长度使用户滚动整个列表不方便。
因此，申请人改变传统的技术。申请人并非试图避免手动使用键盘。而是，申请人通过这种手动使用减少列表的长度，并在减小的列表上使用滚动。事实上，通常将列表减小到单个条目，因此允许完全避免滚动。
当键入电话号码的每个数字时，所产生的部分键入电话号码与完整电话号码比较。显示器只显示的符合(从某种意义上)部分键入号码的电话号码。当显示了所要的电话号码时(也许还需要一些附加滚动的帮助)，用户选择它，并呼叫该电话号码。

图1是显示部分键入号码和所得存储号码实例的矩阵(100)。左列(102)显示了形成部分键入电话号码的数字序列。右列(104)显示了符合部分键入电话号码的存储号码。在键入第一个数字(106)之后，有三个可能的存储号码。通过键入每个后续的数字(108、110)，可能的存储号码的数目减小了，直到只剩一个。可以呼叫该号码，如通过按下“Call”键，或以任何其它方便的方法。或者，可以使用的传统方法如接触显示单元，该显示单元上显示了几个号码中的一个，甚至是显示了不止一个号码。也可以使用滚动，并且将大大地减少在没有本发明的情况下所需的滚动数量。

当通过用户接口(208、212)将数字键入电话机中时，比较器(216)将所得的键入号码与列表中的号码比较。当比较结果证明存储号码和部分键入号码之间的某些预定关联时，存储号码显示在显示单元(210)上。
最方便的关联是部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码开始处相等长度数字序列之间的关联。然而，关联可以是任何数字序列、任何长度以及存储号码中的任何位置。事实上，甚至可以是与存储电话号码关联的代码。这种代码最好是被呼叫者姓名的缩写。对于本领域熟练的技术人员还可以发生其它关联。
图3是根据本发明的方法的流程图(300)。键入数字(302)，将所得部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码的列表比较(304)。如果显示符合的结果(也就是如果比较证明存在上述关联)(306)，那么显示号码(308)，也许需要一些滚动。如果用户选择(306)显示号码中的一个，那么呼叫该号码(312)。如果没有，那么键入下一数字。
工业实用性
本发明能够在工业中采用，每当期望通过减小或去除滚动而加速自动查找电话号码时，能被制造并使用。这里所示装置和方法中的各个部件是彼此分离的，它们全部是传统的，我们要求作为本发明的是它们的组合。
虽然我们描述了各种较佳实施例以及装置和方法的模型，但是本发明的真正精神和范围不限于此，而是只受以下权利要求书及其等效范围的限制，我们以此作为我们的发明。

Claims (14)

1.一种电话机(202)，其中：
(a)该电话机包括：
(1)用户接口(208)，用户通过它键入被叫电话号码；
(2)列表(214)，用于存储电话号码；
(3)用于为用户显示存储电话号码的装置(210)；
(4)用于为用户选择所显示电话号码其中之一的装置(210)；
(5)用于呼叫被选号码的装置(210)；以及
(b)该电话机，其特征在于：
(1)该电话机还包括用于将部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码列表比较的装置(216)；以及
(2)显示装置，它被构造成只显示那些存储的电话号码，比较结果证明该存储电话号码与部分键入电话号码之间存在某些预定关联。
2.如权利要求1所述的电话机，其特征在于，用户接口包括键盘(208)。
3.如权利要求1所述的电话机，其特征在于，用户接口包括话音识别装置(212)。
4.如权利要求1所述的电话机，其特征在于，预定关联包括部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码中任何位置的任何数字序列之间的关联。
5.如权利要求4所述的电话机，其特征在于，预定关联包括部分输入电话号码与存储电话号码开始处相等长度数字序列之间的关联。
6.如权利要求1所述的电话机，其特征在于，预定关联包括部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码关联代码之间的关联。
7.如权利要求6所述的电话机，其特征在于，与存储电话号码关联的代码包括被呼叫者姓名的缩写。
8.一种发出电话呼叫的方法，其中：
(a)电话机(202)包括：
(1)用户接口(208)，用户通过它键入被叫电话号码；和
(2)列表(214)，用于存储电话号码；
(b)该方法包括：
(1)为用户显示(308)存储的电话号码；
(2)用户选择(310)所显示电话号码中的一个；和
(3)呼叫(312)被选号码；以及
(c)该方法，其特征在于：
(1)该方法还包括将部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码列表比较(304)；和
(2)显示装置只显示那些存储电话号码，比较结果证明该存储电话号码与部分键入电话号码之间存在某些预定关联。
9.如权利要求8所述的方法，其特征在于，用户接口包括键盘(208)。
10.如权利要求8所述的方法，其特征在于，用户接口包括话音识别装置(212)。
11.如权利要求8所述的方法，其特征在于，预定关联包括部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码中任何位置的任何数字序列之间的关联。
12.如权利要求11所述的方法，其特征在于，预定关联包括部分输入电话号码与存储电话号码开始处相等长度数字序列之间的关联。
13.如权利要求8所述的方法，其特征在于，预定关联包括部分键入电话号码与存储电话号码关联代码之间的关联。
14.如权利要求13所述的方法，其特征在于，与存储电话号码关联的代码包括被呼叫者姓名的缩写。
