本发明涉及基本上不含有不想要的盐的紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物的配合物。这种配合物是通过在两种化合物间的离子键形成的。本发明的配合物可基本上除去所有过量的不想要的盐,从而获得紫外线吸收剂化合物,这种化合物具有改善的耐光性和耐洗性,易于涂敷至主体表面上,并且具有优异的不雾化和不断裂特性,还具有抗静电、抗菌及抗腐蚀性能。本发明也涉及本发明的紫外线吸收剂配合物的制备方法和使用方法。
背景技术
在本文中引用的所有专利均完整引入本文作为参考。
季铵化合物对于某些化合物如阴离子染料来说是公知的配合剂。例如,US专利5,059,244(King)描述了一种阴离子染料与乙氧基化的三乙醇胺的水溶液。该组合物可用作油墨制剂的成分,以及用作暂时性对纺织品纤维进行染色的试剂。季铵化合物还可用作对纤维材料进行印刷的助剂,例如,US专利3,785,767(Hildebrand)公开了一种用于对纤维材料连续染色并进行印刷的垫蒸气法(pad-steamingprocess),该方法采用了包含阴离子染料和胺盐的制剂。其它的相关技术教导涉及下述文献:US专利4,563,190(Topfi),该文献公开了一种含季铵化合物的阴离子染料的染色辅助制剂,所述季铵化合物至少包含一个碱性氮原子,该氮原子至少与一个聚乙二醇醚链相连;US专利4,935,033(Mosimann等),该文献公开了一种对天然聚酰胺纤维进行染色的方法,该方法使用活性染料和含季铵化合物的染色助剂;US专利4,369,041(Dvorsky等)公开了一种对纺织品进行印刷的技术,该技术涉及将纺织品用季铵化合物进行作用,作用过程可在用酸性染料进行染色或印刷之前或之后。进而,Aston等的US专利5,403,358公开了一种用于喷墨过程的预处理组合物,其包含一种季铵化合物和一种活性染料。还发现此类阴离子染料和季铵化合物还可用于其它领域,例如:US专利4,459130(Helling等)公开了一种染料制剂,其是由酸性染料与碱性载体组成,所述碱性载体包含季铵化合物或鏻基团;US专利5,266,077(Auten等)公开了一种对亲水性接触镜片进行染色的方法,所述方法利用了季铵化合物作为染料配合剂。
但是,现有技术中并未教导如何使一种公知的紫外线吸收剂与一种季铵化合物进行配合反应以形成更加全面的紫外线吸收剂,也未提及这样一种基本上不含有不想要的盐的配合物。最接近的现有技术为US专利5,376,304(Yamamoto等),该文献公开了一种二氧化铈溶胶(非紫外线吸收剂,但其最终会表现出紫外线吸收功能),其基本是一种基本上不含盐的阴离子化合物与二氧化铈的配合物,它再与可以为季铵化合物的化合物进行反应。如果这样一种反应发生的话,该专利也既未公开也未正面暗示随后的季铵化合物反应盐脱除过程。进而,该专利的初始无盐阴离子化合物也并非是紫外线吸收化合物;当然,所形成的二氧化铈溶胶的确显示出紫外线吸收性能。
业已发现,紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物间进行配合反应,和随后除去在该反应过程中形成的,基本上所有的过量的盐(由阴离子紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物的抗衡离子进行反应形成的)产生一种具有出人意料的并且是人们所希望的特性,例如,仅仅是举例说来,裂缝发生率较低以及雾化性能得到改善。常规紫外线吸收剂如苯并三唑和二苯酮衍生物是以小的有机分子存在于涂敷后的基质上的。当分散于涂料组合物内时,这种传统的吸收剂随时间增加会与涂料分离,并在目标基质上的涂层内形成结晶。这种常规紫外线吸收化合物重结晶的可能性将引起涂层自身通过裂缝离解。进而,标准的UV吸收剂易于从基质涂层上升华并产生积聚于其它附近表面上的“雾”。在涂敷吸收剂一段时间后,在这种表面(即车窗内部)形成不希望出现的轻微的不透明现象。这种断裂和雾化均将降低主体基质(如外表或家具被覆材料等)的外观,并可能在周围表面上产生不想要的膜。业已发现,由紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物间进行配合反应,经进一步除去基本上所有不想要的盐后,可提供一种在涂敷后的主体基质上将不产生诸如断裂和雾化等问题的化合物。同样,本发明的配合物易于分散并溶解于任一种标准的紫外线吸收剂涂料组合物中。此外,由于这种季铵化合物的存在将出人意料地提供其它用途,如抗静电和抗菌性能。因而,通过采用价廉的反应和季铵化合物,生产一种用于各种基质的不雾化、抗静电、抗菌、均匀的成膜紫外线吸收化合物的成本可大为降低。因此,业已发现,基本上不含盐的紫外线吸收剂/季铵化合物的配合物提供了一种成本有效的方法,该方法可使许多不同类的基质具有非常理想并有益的性能。
当置于配合溶液中时,紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物相互间显示出很大的亲合性,从而当其与它们各自的阳离子和/或抗衡离子离解时,吸收剂与季铵化合物的配合导致形成过量的由游离阳离子与抗衡离子组成的盐。一旦形成这种盐,它们易于通过过滤、相分离或萃取技术除去。这些盐通常为无机盐,虽然有机盐和抗衡离子也可存在,因而,应从本发明的配合物中基本将它们除去。这种脱盐过程确保了吸收剂和季铵化合物仍然配合在一起,而不会使得在形成的紫外线吸收剂溶液中它们再与离解时形成的游离阳离子和/或抗衡离子进行潜在的反应。因此,大量的吸收剂/季铵化合物配合物与很少量的残余盐将获得所需的性能。术语“基本上不含盐”是指不含这种不想要的阳离子/抗衡离子盐。
发明目的
本发明的目的是提供一种基本上不含盐的紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物的配合物,其可改善对各种基质和介质的紫外线吸收性。本发明的另一个目的是提供一种紫外线吸收化合物,其可用于处理纺织品、纸、木材以及其它会在光照时发生光降解的表面。
发明概述
迄今,人们还未对基本上不含盐的紫外线吸收剂/季铵化合物配合物以及这种基本上不含盐的配合物的优点及应用进行研究。阴离子紫外线吸收剂为本发明配合物的优选类型,所述配合物可能包含一定量的无机或有机盐。如在下面将会详细讨论的那样,这种盐也是阴离子紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物进行配合反应的副产物。由于在组合物中存在这种盐,季铵化合物或无机阳离子就可能会用作配合的阴离子吸收剂的抗衡离子。结果,吸收剂与季铵化合物间继续进行配合反应的机会将因存在数量不断增加的盐而降低。由于紫外线吸收剂与季铵化合物会在溶液中分离,某些游离的阴离子紫外线吸收剂将不可避免地与游离阳离子结合,而某些游离的季铵化合物将不可避免地与游离抗衡离子结合,从而降低了吸收剂/季铵化合物的整体耐光性、不成雾作用和不迁移作用。大量的残余的无机盐将使这些潜在的有害作用更为明显。因此,含盐的多相紫外线吸收剂/季铵化合物配合物体系在不同基质处理时显示出较差的溶解性、涂敷性等。从而,这种配合物不适宜用作紫外线吸收化合物。
业已发现,基本不含盐的阴离子紫外线吸收剂/季铵化合物配合物作为纺织品、纸、木材、塑料等的处理剂,提供了优良的迁移性、防雾性、抗静电性、抗菌性、均匀的成膜性以及耐光性。由于紫外线吸收剂的均匀膜能抵抗断裂,不会在主体基质的不连续区域积累或积聚,并且不会降解,所以不会产生“雾”,使得这种膜成为一种非常理想的膜。除去无机盐使配合物具有改善的稳定性。进而,通过改变季铵化合物的结构,可以使配合物的上述物理性能适应任一种特定的要求。例如,更为疏水的季铵结构在与阴离子紫外线吸收剂配合并除去基本上所有的形成的盐后,可向使用者提供一种在疏水涂料体系内溶解性更好的紫外线吸收剂。
本发明的配合物可用于向各种不同的介质和基质提供如前提及的广泛的有利之处。事实上,所有类型和类别的紫外线吸收剂均可用于实施本发明;但是,优选的紫外线吸收剂为阴离子紫外线吸收剂。更优选的阴离子吸收剂为基于苯并三唑、苯并咪唑、三嗪或二苯酮体系的那些紫外线吸收剂,例如,仅仅作为优选的实例,磺化的羟基苯并三唑(商品名CibafastW)、2-羟基-4-甲氧基-5-磺基-二苯酮钠、2-苯基苯并咪唑-5-磺酸和2,2'-二羟基-4,4′-二甲氧基-5,5′-二磺基二苯酮钠;最优选商购自Ciba Geigy的CibafastW。这种紫外线吸收剂公知具有所需的吸收性能;但是,它们并不能提供适宜程度的抗断裂、抗雾化、抗静电、抗摩擦和/或抗菌作用。进而,当以其纯的未改变的状态使用时,这些化合物不具有所希望的耐光性,而这对于长期持续单一应用(因此成本有效)的紫外保护来说是必需的。阳离子铵基团与阴离子紫外线吸收剂上的游离活性基团(即磺酸和/或羧酸基团)结合从而形成离子键。尽管并不完全理解,但是,实现了季铵的阳离子部分与吸收剂的阴离子部分间的相互作用;然而,如前所述,业已证明,季铵化合物与阴离子吸收剂间的亲合力要大于这种季铵化合物和通常与其结合的阳离子抗衡离子间的亲合力。同理,阴离子紫外线吸收剂与阳离子季铵化合物间的亲合力要大于其与阳离子抗衡离子间的亲合力。在配合反应后,两种组分的游离抗衡离子相互反应形成上述需要从形成的配合物中除去(至少基本上除去)的不想要的盐,以提供所需的上述有益性能。残余盐的可允许的水平,及本发明基本上不含盐的定义是指,在本发明的配合物内,盐的含量至多为约5,000ppm。理论上说,不可能从所述配合物中除去所有的无机盐;但是,在如此低的可允许并且可达到的盐含量水平上,可以获得所需的耐光性、防雾性、抗断裂性、迁移性、抗静电性、抗菌性等特性。确实,根本上无盐是最优选的,虽然如上所述,这样的一种程度几乎不可能达到。
宽范围的季铵化合物已表明可用于实施本发明。在本发明中潜在有用的季铵化合物包括:三烷基、二烷基、二烷氧基烷基、一烷氧基、苄基和咪唑啉鎓季铵化合物。特别优选的季铵化合物在下面列出,但是,这些化合物仅仅是可用于本发明配合物和方法的不同类季铵化合物的一列。作为非限定性的实例,下表给出了季铵化合物的优选类别和实例:

此外,上面给出的实例仅为优选的化合物;任何一种能够满足广义列出的季铵化合物类别的化合物均在本发明的范围之内。其它可提及的适宜的季铵化合物包括:四烷基季铵化合物、单取代的多烷氧基烷基季铵化合物、二取代的多烷氧基烷基季铵化合物和三取代的多烷氧基烷基季铵化合物,它们均仅为几个例子。残余的无机盐的量通常为约50ppb至5000ppm。典型的钠抗衡离子和钠盐为在这种阴离子染料中残余的无机离子和盐。无机盐含量的检测可通过方便且易于操作的测定组合物中钠离子含量的方式进行。此外,这种基本上不含盐的紫外线吸收剂的存在将使得在涂敷至基质和介质的过程中处理起来更为容易,特别是采用液体组合物,而采用标准的紫外线吸收剂却不明显。
可采用各种纯化技术以从配合物中除去基本上所有的残余的不想要的盐。这些技术包括但不限于:溶剂萃取、相分离、超滤和其它过滤方法。特别优选的方法是:高压超滤,采用碳酸铵淋洗过程的相分离法(即,三次用25%碳酸铵水溶液以与配合物1∶1重量比进行连续洗涤),以及采用二氯甲烷的溶剂萃取过滤等。在除去过量的无机盐后,将形成的溶液汽提出过量的水以纯化紫外线吸收剂配合物。
实施本发明的最简单方式是,首先,针对被涂敷的主体基质,根据吸收性能、耐光性、热稳定性等确定所需的紫外线吸收剂;其次,基于必需要求的物理性能如迁移性能、均匀分散性、溶解性、耐洗性等对主体基质选择适宜的季铵化合物;第三,使两种物质反应形成一种配合物;最后,从配合物中除去不想要的盐。
优选实施方案描述
以下举例说明本发明的非限定性优选特征。合成紫外线吸收配合物
                      实施例1
将3份的磺酸化的羟基苯并三唑(商品名Cibafast W)和4份的二(氢化牛油基烷基)二甲基季铵氯化物(商购自Akzo Nobel Chemicals,商品名Arquad2HT-75)溶解于10份的水/甲醇溶液(5/1,v/v)中。将溶液搅拌2-3小时。通过相分离和氯仿萃取对高分子紫外线吸收剂进行纯化。然后,将纯化后的颗粒状高分子紫外线吸收剂分散于水中。
                     实施例2
将33份的2-羟基-4-甲氧基-5-磺基二苯酮钠和92份的甲基多氧化亚乙基(15)椰油基氯化铵(商购自Witco,商品名Variquat K1215)溶解于200份水中。将溶液搅拌2小时,随后用二氯甲烷进行萃取。将二氯甲烷溶液在真空下进行汽提,得到一种均匀的液体。
                     实施例3
将48份的2,2’-二羟基-4,4’-二甲氧基-5,5’-二磺基二苯酮钠和95份的VariquatK1215溶解于200份水中。将溶液搅拌2小时,随后用二氯甲烷进行萃取。将二氯甲烷溶液在真空下进行汽提,得到一种均匀的液体。本发明配合物的应用
                    实施例4耐光性
将来自实施例1的水分散液用于纺织品处理组合物和处理过程中,采用常规的100%聚酯汽车织物上的垫料方法。这种高分子紫外线吸收剂向纺织品基质提供了优异的紫外线保护,并且不挥发(因而不会产生任何可感知的雾化),还对染色的织物的耐光性有显著改善。下表列出了许多实例,通过在汽车织物中加入一定量的实施例1的紫外线吸收剂配合物可改善耐光性。汽车织物耐光性实验采用标准实验过程进行,如下述文献所述:通用汽车和克莱斯勒,“表面交通工具推荐实践”(Surface Vehicle Recommended Practice)(R)采用控制的辐照度水冷氙弧光装置进行的汽车内部整理元件的加速照射(AcceleratedExposure of Automotive Interior Trim Components Using aControlled Irradiance Water Cooled Xenon-Arc Apparatus)”,由国际高级机支陆海空和空间工程学会(The Engineering Society forAdvancing Mobility Land Sea Air and Space International)发布。表2的测量值表明了不同颜色的协调。^E*和^H*越高,则结果越好。^L*和^C*越低,则结果越好。表2列出的实施例相应于以下参数:

                         抗菌性结果
采用AATCC实验方法147-1996,以金黄色葡萄球菌的无生长区和接触抑制对本发明的配合物进行抗菌特性实验。抑制区表明围绕被处理的基质移动的抗菌性。接触抑制实验表明抗菌剂对直接接触的有效性。表2内所列出的实施例相应于下述参数:

因此,与未处理的基质相比,本发明的配合物向处理过的织物提供了一定程度的抗菌性质。
                      实施例7
                   紫外线吸收特性
当然,最重要的一点是,本发明的紫外线吸收剂可有效地改善织物的日光保护因子(SPF)。紫外线照射对人体的皮肤是有害的,这种危害分成两种类型:一种为UV-A型,  在光谱中波长范围为320-400nm,另一种为UV-B型,在光谱中的波长范围为290-320nm。因此,任何一种能够减少或防止紫外线穿透传播的方式均必须有效地阻止或吸收在这些波长(290和400nm)间的辐射。SPF数由以下方程测量:紫外线100/%穿透值=SPF数。因此,如果组合物允许20%紫外线穿透,则SPF#为5;如果组合物允许10%的紫外线穿透,则SPF#为10等等。将实施例1的配合物掺入Downy Care织物柔软剂(样品总重的5%)样品中。所采用的两种织物为聚棉(polycottons)(桃色65/35聚酯/棉,以下所述V,和紫色65/35聚酯/棉,以下所述W)。结果如下表所示:

因此,在与本发明的配合物接触后,处理过的织物的紫外线吸收率增加。应当指出,上述结果是仅通过用含配合物的Downy织物柔软剂漂洗织物一次获得的。可以预期,在多次漂洗后,每一种处理过的样品相应的SPF数值将连续增加。
以上描述了本发明的具体特征,当然可以理解,本发明并不受这些特定的构型或实施形式的限制,本领域的技术人员无疑会做出一些改进以及得到符合本发明原理的其它实施方案。由于将本发明的特征引入权利要求的真实含义、精神和范围内,因此,本发明的权利要求将覆盖这些改进。
