Description
发明的技术领域
本发明涉及数字数据的传输,尤其涉及从多个数据流进行选择以产生单一数据输出的装置和方法。
发明的背景技术
各种类型的信息都可以变换为数字格式,然后作为包含数字数据流的射频信号将该数字数据发送到用户处。单个用户能接收多个源来的这些数字射频发送。例如,用户可接收一个或多个来自地面发射机来的信号。该用户还能接收一个或多个卫星来的数字射频信号。不管包含数字数据流的射频信号的源怎样,每个数据流在用户处必须能被处理而得到有用的信号。
直接广播卫星(DBS)的电视发射是数字射频发送的一个例子。在DBS发射中,从某个卫星发射多个不同载频的数字信号,且这些多个载频一起共同组成一个数据流。目前分配给DBS发射的频谱从12.2-12.7GHz。每个载频携带的数据用于几个不同的独立输出,在DBS例中,这些输出包含若干电视信道。为了使用该DBS数据流,该整个数据流用合适的天线加以接收,并下变频到低于该射频的中频。用户处的接收机解调该所需载频,并对该解调后的信号解码,产生包含用于电视机信道输入的所需输出。
本发明概述
本发明的目的在于提供一种从一个或多个共用频率上发射的多个数据流进行选择并对所选数据流进行处理的装置和方法。
为了实现该发明目的,本发明的装置包含接入单个接收机/信号处理器的多个信号输入通道。与所述信号输入通道相联的开关装置在给定的时间只让通道之一将数据流接入所述接收机/信号处理器。各个信号输入通道能接收包含一个或多个频率上信号的各自的数据流,该一个或多个频率可以与所述输入通道之另一通道接收到信号的频率共同或不共同。所述开关装置通过在某个时间只让一个输入通道接入,能防止共同频率的信号相互干扰。而且,利用单个接收机/信号处理器就能处理各个源来的所有信号,从而在用户处无需重复配置信号处理设备。

参见图1,本发明的多个数据流处理装置10接收第1输入通道11的一个数据流和第2输入通道12的分开且不同数据流。装置10包含接收所述两数据流之一并处理该数据流从所接收到的信号中产生所需信道输出的接收机/信号处理器14。开关装置16在某个时间只允许一个数据流到达接收机/信号处理器。

本发明不限定于从特定类型信号源接收信号。例如,一个源可以是卫星而另一射频信号源可以是地面发射机。可替代的是,两射频信号源都可以是卫星或都可以是地面发射机。在任何情况下,第1天线21和第2天线22接收到的射频信号可包含相同载频上的信号。虽然在一些情况下两射频接收天线21和22所接收到的载频可相同,但在本发明的其它应用中,两不同组的信号可包含仅几个相同载频或无相同载频,且各组可包含未被包含在另一组中的其它载频。当天线21和22接收到的射频发射共享至少一个共用频率时,信号不可能无干扰地组合在单个传播通道上。例如,第1天线21可接收射频为12.2GHz的信号。第天线22可接收同样12.2GHz发射的信号,但载有完全不同的数据。在这种情况下,如果将两天线21和22来的信号组合到同一信号的通道上,则共用频率的信号相互干扰。
两个信号输入通道11和12通过开关装置16。开关装置16包含连接在第1输入通道11中的第1通/断放大器或开关31,和连接在第2输入通道12中的第2通/断放大器或开关32。第1通/断放大器通过第1使能线33接收使能信号,第2通/断放大器接收加到第2使能线34的使能信号。第1通/断放大器31的输出和第2通/断放大器32的输出作为输入加到结合放大器36。结合放大器36在输出线37上产生单一结合输出。通/断放大器31和32可包含任一合适的通/断放大器或有源开关,结合放大器36可包含任一合适的相加放大器。
通/断放大器31只有当使能信号通过使能输入线33加给它时才让输入通道11上接收到的中频信号或数据流通过。通/断放大器32只有当使能信号通过使能输入线34加给它时才让输入通道12上接收到的中频数据流通过。当使能信号未加到特定的通/断放大器31或32时,该特定的放大器不会继续将各个数据流传递到结合放大器36。而当通/断放大器31或32通过各自的使能线33或34接收到使能信号时,相关输入通道上的数据流继续传送到结合放大器36,通过线37输入到接收机/信号处理器14。结合放大器36确保信号以正确的阻抗输入到接收机/信号处理器14。根据下文的详细讨论,任何时候只有接收到的数据流之一作为输入加到接收机/信号处理器14。

本发明另一重要方面是,两个不同输入通道11和12可携带格式完全不同,例如DSS、DVB或MPEG2格式的数据。只要存储装置47存储特定的信号处理信息使能去复用器/格式解码器45解码数据,那么对装置10可处理的特定数据格式没有限定。

Claims (20)
1.一种处理多个数据流的装置,其特征在于,包含:
(a)具有第1输入和第2输入与其相联的信号处理装置;
(b)连接所述第1输入并具有第1开关输出的第1开关,响应加到与第1开关相联的使能输入的使能信号将信号从第1输入传递到第1开关输出;
(c)连接所述第2输入并具有第2开关输出的第2开关,响应加到与第2开关相联的使能输入的使能信号将信号从第2输入传递到第2开关输出;
(d)连接到第1开关输出和第2开关输出并具有连接到所述信号处理装置的单一结合输出的数据流结合;和
(e)控制器,通过选择将所述使能信号加到第1开关和第2开关之一的使能输入以使所述开关之一能将信号从各自输入传输到各自开关输出,通过所述数据流结合加到所述信号处理装置。

17.如权利要求16所述的方法,其特征在于,其中,各数据流包含多个不同的信道,各不同信道与不同的信道标识符关联,且其中,有选择地阻断除一个数据流外的各数据流的步骤包含:
(a)接收表明所需信道的信道标识符的信道选择输入;
(b)使用所需信道的信道标识符以识别包含所需信道的特定数据流;和
(c)将使能信号只加到与包含所需信道的数据流相联的开关,以使所述数据流能加到接收机。
18.如权利要求17所述的方法,其特征在于,还进一步包含:
(a)使用所需信道的信道标识符从存储装置重新调用对所需信道是唯一的并可由接收机使用的信号处理信息,以便从包含所需信道的数据流产生所需信道输出;和
(b)用所述信号处理信息控制所述接收机以产生所需信道输出。
19.如权利要求16所述的方法,其特征在于,其中,
(a)各数据流实质上包含具有多个载频的第1频带中的信号。
20.如权利要求19所述的方法,其特征在于,其中,
(a)各数据流实质上使用相同的载频。
