Abstract
一种液晶显示装置,备有在相向的内面上分别具有电极(3、4)的透明的第1基板(1)和第2基板(2)之间夹持有以180°—270°的扭曲配向的向列液晶(6)的STN液晶元件(20),在该第1基板(1)的外侧,中介第1相位差片(12)地配置反射式偏振光片(14),再在其外侧设置背光源(15),在STN液晶元件(20)的第2基板(2)的外侧,中介第2相位差片(13)地配置吸收式偏振光片(11)。借助于此,可以进行明亮、高对比度、且无彩色的金属色调显示。
Description
技术领域
本发明涉及利用超扭曲向列(STN)液晶元件显示文字信息或图象信息的液晶显示装置的构成。
技术背景
利用液晶元件显示文字信息或图象信息的液晶显示装置,从钟表或手机等的小型装置到电视机或个人计算机等的大画面的显示器,正在种种的电子装置中使用。
在使用液晶元件显示文字信息或图象信息时,使用这样的液晶显示面板:在2块透明的基板之间充填有液晶的液晶元件的两侧,把吸收式偏振光片配置得使其各个透过轴分别成为所希望的角度。
当给该液晶显示面板的液晶加上电场时,光学特性将随着具有介电系数各向异性的液晶的配向方向变化而变化。利用该液晶的光学上的各向异性,进行所需要的显示。
作为这样的利用液晶的光学特性的现有的液晶显示装置,作为一般性的液晶显示装置,有使用扭曲向列(TN)液晶的液晶显示装置。在把出射一侧的吸收式偏振光片配置得使在借助于TN液晶的旋光性来控制透过了入射一侧的吸收式偏振光片后的线偏振光的偏振方向,使之成为通常白色模式的时候,在背景色的白地上用黑色显示来显示文字信息或图象信息。
但是,若仅仅象这样地在背景的白地上用黑色显示来显示文字信息或图象信息,则在外观设计方面没有什么变化,也缺少趣味性。
于是,人们希望能够形成在文字信息或图象信息的显示上富有变化,在外观设计方面也富有变化的液晶显示装置。
此外,要想扩大可以显示的文字信息或图象信息的信息量,就必须使用使用超扭曲向列(STN)液晶的液晶显示装置而不是使用使用TN液晶的液晶显示装置。使用STN液晶的液晶显示装置,由于对于所加电压的变化的透射率变化的陡峭性高,且电压变化的允许余量可以取得宽,故可以进行高分割显示,显示画面内的象素密度可以增高。因此,显示容量增大,而且显示部分和背景部分的对比度也好。
该STN式液晶显示装置,由于是利用了液晶的双折射各向异性的显示方式,故作为黑白显示用,即便是使用亮度优良的通常白色模式,不给液晶层加电压的背景部分的显示颜色,也会由于椭圆偏振光而发生带色现象。
其结果是,背景的显示颜色不是白色而是接近黄绿色的颜色,而在液晶层施加了电压的黑色显示部成为带点蓝色的黑色。
在这样的STN式的液晶显示装置中,在外观设计方面也没什么妙趣,是一种朴素的信息显示。
本发明就是有鉴于现状而发明的,目的是使得在信息的显示容量大的STN式液晶显示装置中,显示的背景成为不带色的无彩色,成为在外观设计方面也是新颖而时尚性优良的液晶显示装置。
发明的公开
为了实现上述目的,本发明的液晶显示装置,具备:在相向的内面上分别具有电极的透明的第1基板和第2基板之间夹持有以180°~270°扭曲进行配向的向列液晶而构成的STN液晶元件;在该STN液晶元件的第1基板的外侧设置的反射式偏振光片;在该反射式偏振光片和第1基板之间设置的第1相位差片;在该反射式偏振光片的与相位差片相反的一侧设置的背光源;在上述STN液晶元件的第2基板的外侧设置的吸收式偏振光片;以及在该吸收式偏振光片和第2基板之间设置的第2相位差片。
在这种情况下,上述第1、第2相位差片,在把各自的延伸方向的折射率定义为nx,把与该延伸方向垂直的方向的折射率定义为ny,把厚度方向的折射率定义为nz时,理想的是满足nx>nz>ny的条件的相位差片(所谓的Z型的相位差片)。
此外,也可以取代上述第2相位差片而代之以配置扭曲相位差片,省去上述第1相位差片,构成液晶显示装置。
在这种情况下,在设上述STN液晶元件的扭曲角为Ts,扭曲相位差片的扭曲角Tc时,理想的是使这两个扭曲角的绝对值之差△T=Ts-Tc的值处于0°~30°的范围内。
在这些各个液晶显示装置中,可以把上述吸收式偏振光片和反射式偏振光片配置得使透过轴彼此垂直。
此外,可以在上述吸收式偏振光片的与相位差片或扭曲相位差片相反的一侧的表面上设置无反射层。
此外,上述STN液晶元件的第1基板的厚度可以是0.1mm~0.5mm。
这样地构成的本发明的液晶显示装置,作为不加电压部分的背景部分,成为金属色调的显示。
可以使STN液晶显示器件最佳化,使得被反射式偏振光片反射的光的量最大限度地增加,使得不加电压部分成为明亮且无彩色的金属色调显示,而且,使得加电压部分的透射率在广范围的波长内增高。
具体地说,采用把相位差片的光程差值Rf和作为液晶的双折射率△n和单元间隙d之积的Rs=△nd之差,即△R=Rs-Rf的值,设定为0.005~0.05微米,并把两偏振光片配置得使与吸收式偏振光片和反射式偏振光片的透过轴垂直的办法,使STN液晶显示器件的反射效率增高,得到更为良好的透过状态。
此外,在相位差片中,在把延伸方向的折射率定义为nx,把与之垂直的方向的折射率定义为ny,把厚度方向的折射率定义为nz时,采用使用满足nx>nz>ny的条件的所谓的Z型的相位差片,而不是采用通常的1轴延伸式的办法,成为可以改善视场角特性,可以有效地利用来自周边的入射光,因而可以得到更为明亮的显示。
此外即便是使用扭曲相位差片来取代相位差片,也可以得到高反射率的金属色调特性和良好的透射率特性,可以在宽视场角范围内改善辨认性,实现明亮、无彩色且金属色调显示的液晶显示。

优选实施例
为了更为详细地说明本发明,以下参看附图具体地对本发明的实施例进行说明。
[实施例1:图1到图4]
首先,参看图1到图4对本发明的液晶显示装置的实施例1进行说明。
图1和图2的示意性的剖面图示出了本发明的液晶显示装置的实施例1的构成,大幅度地扩大示出了厚度方向的尺寸比率。
本实施例1的液晶显示装置,是半透过式液晶显示装置,如图1或图2所示,分别用密封剂5把由厚度0.5mm的玻璃板构成的第1基板1和第2基板2,保持恒定的间隔地粘贴起来,在其间隙内封入并夹持225°扭曲配向的向列液晶6,形成STN液晶元件20。
在该第1基板1的内面(液晶6一侧的面)上,形成由作为透明导电膜的氧化铟锡(ITO)形成的第1电极3,在第2基板2的内面形成由ITO构成的第2电极4。
在该STN液晶元件20的第1基板1的外侧(在图中为下侧)中介相位差值R=0.43微米的第1相位差片12地配设反射式偏振光片14,在该反射式偏振光片14的与相位差片12相反的一侧(下侧)配置背光源15。
至于该背光源15,可以使用电致发光(EL)器件、光发射二极管(LED)、冷阴极管或热阴极管等。此外,也可以向该背光源15的发光面上印刷涂敷荧光色的颜料,使得发荧光色的光。
此外,在STN液晶元件20的第2基板2的外侧(在图中是上侧)中介相位差值R=0.43微米的第2相位差片13,配置透射率为46%的吸收式偏振光片11,使第1相位差片12和第2相位差片13的相位差值之和Rf成为0.86微米。
在该图1和图2中,上侧是由观察者进行观察的一侧,外光从上侧入射。
在这里,通常的吸收式偏振光片11,是一种具有彼此垂直的透过轴和吸收轴,透过在平行于透过轴的方向上偏振的线偏振光,吸收在平行于吸收轴的方向上偏振的线偏振光的薄片状的构件。
另一方面,反射式偏振光片14,是一种具有彼此垂直的透过轴和反射轴,透过在平行于透过轴的方向上偏振的线偏振光,反射在平行于反射轴的方向上偏振的线偏振光的薄片状的构件。
为此,如果把发荧光色的背光源15配置到反射式偏振光片14的外侧,则在与透过轴平行的方向上偏振的线偏振光入射进来之际将成为荧光色的显示,在与反射轴平行的方向上偏振的线偏振光入射进来之际将直接反射,由于表面是镜面状态反射率高,故可以得到明亮的金属色调的显示。
在本例中,作为反射式偏振光片14,使用住友3M株式会社的Opticalfilm DBEF(商品名)。该反射式偏振光片用折射率不同的多层薄膜形成,但除此之外,也可以使用用λ/4板把胆甾醇液晶聚合物夹在中间的构成的反射式偏振光片或利用全息照相的反射式偏振光片等。
第1相位差片12和第2相位差片13不论哪一个都是使聚碳酸酯延伸后的厚度约70微米的薄膜,若把延伸方向的折射率定义为nx,把与该延伸方向垂直的方向的折射率定义为ny,把厚度方向的折射率定义为nz时,则是满足nx>nz>ny的条件的所谓的Z型的相位差片。
第1相位差片12与反射式偏振光片14,第2相位差片13与吸收式相位差片11分别用丙烯酸系的粘接剂进行粘接形成一体化。
该Z型相位差片,由于视角倾斜时的光程差的变化小,故可以改善液晶显示装置的视场角特性。
在这里,对STN液晶元件20的第1基板1的厚度和显示品质的关系进行说明。在向STN液晶元件20入射的光来自正面的时候,该入射光先透过吸收式偏振光片11和第2相位差片13和第2基板2和液晶层6,然后在透过第1基板1和第1相位差片12后被反射式偏振光片14反射,通过与入射光相同的路径,作为出射光到达观察者一侧。
但是,从斜向入射进来的光,当第1基板1厚时,入射时所透过的液晶层和出射时所要透过的液晶层不同,产生显示部分看起来模糊不清的2重图象,显示品质降低。
因此,第1基板1越薄,则因来自斜向的入射光所形成的2重图象减少得越多,显示的辨认性越高。
在用各种厚度的基板试制第1基板1后,得知厚度在0.5mm以下可以得到良好的显示品质。虽然第1基板1越薄越好,但由于若太薄则作业性会降低,故理想的是在0.1mm以上。在本实施例中,作为第1基板1和第2基板2,都用厚度0.5mm的玻璃板。但是,第1基板1的厚度可以薄到0.1mm~0.5mm的范围内。
由ITO构成的第1电极3和第2电极4的透射率,在亮度和色调方面是重要的,人们要求透射率高的ITO。通常,ITO电极面电阻值越低则ITO的膜厚越厚,透射率越低。
于是,由于在第1电极3上将加上电压低的数据信号,故串扰的影响小,所以可以使用面电阻值为100欧姆且ITO的膜厚为40nm的ITO膜。这种情况下的第1电极的平均透射率约为92%。
由于第2电极4上将加上电压高的扫描信号,故为了降低串扰而使用面电阻值为10欧姆且ITO的膜厚为230nm的ITO膜,故虽然平均透射率降低为约89%,但如本实施例那样,可以采用至少对一方的基板的电极使用透射率90%以上的透明电极的办法来改善亮度。
图2所示的液晶显示装置,在吸收式偏振光片11的与第2相位差片12相反的一侧(观看一侧)的表面上,设置有无反射层17。该无反射层17是蒸镀上多层无机薄膜的无反射层,反射率约为0.5%。
由于采用设置该无反射层17的办法降低吸收式偏振光片11的表面反射,故透射率得以改善,显示变得明亮起来。此外,由于向观察者出射的出射光被无反射层17散射,故可以得到明亮、无彩色的金属色调且柔和的色调。
但是,由于蒸镀膜价格昂贵,故最近人们开发出了涂敷1层~2层的有机材料的涂敷式的无反射膜,反射率为1%前后,虽然多少有点高,但价格低。即便是这样的无反射膜,也可以作为本实施例的无反射层17使用。
其次,用图3和图4说明本实施例1中的各个构成构件的配置关系。在第1电极3和第2电极4的表面上,形成配向膜(未画出来),如图3所示,采用对第1基板1的内面,在对于水平轴逆时针旋转22.5°的方向上进行研磨处理的办法,使液晶6的下液晶分子配向方向成为+22.5°(+表示逆时针旋转的方向)。
第2基板2的内面,采用在对于水平轴顺时针旋转22.5°的方向上进行研磨处理的办法,液晶6的上液晶分子配向方向成为-22.5°(-表示顺时针旋转的方向)。
然后,向黏度20cp的向列液晶6中添加叫做chiral剂的旋转性物质,把扭曲节距P调整为11微米,形成逆时针旋转225°扭曲的STN液晶元件20。
所使用的向列液晶6的双折射之差△n为0.15,作为第1基板1和第2基板2的间隙的单元间隙d作成为5.8微米。
因此,若设用向列液晶6的双折射之差△n和单元间隙d之积表示的STN液晶元件20的△nd值为Rs,则Rs=0.87微米。若设第1相位差片12和第2相位差片13之间的相位差值之和为Rf,由于Rf=0.86微米,故△R=Rs-Rf=0.01。
反射式偏振光片14的透过轴14a,以水平轴为基准配置成0°,吸收式偏振光片11的透过轴11a,如图4所示,以水平轴为基准配置成+90°,第1相位差片12的延伸轴12a,如图3所示,以水平轴为基准配置成-70°,第2相位差片13的延伸轴13a,如图4所示,以水平轴为基准,配置成+70°。
在这样构成的实施例1的液晶显示装置中,在液晶元件20的第1、第2电极3、4间不加电压的状态下,由于到达反射式偏振光片14的线偏振光完全被反射式偏振光片14反射而向观看一侧返回,故将成为明亮且镜面那样的金属色调的无彩色显示。若给第1电极3和第2电极4之间加上电压,则由于向列液晶6的分子站立起来丧失旋光性,到达反射式偏振光片14的线偏振光将透过该反射式偏振光片,故在背光源15不发光的情况下,就可以观察因其表面的色彩而形成的显示色。在背光源发光的情况下,则可以观察因该背光源15的发光色而形成的显示色。
因此,可以采用任意地选择背光源15的表面的色彩和发光色的办法,使之在金属色调的无彩色的背景内,用任意的色彩显示信息,或者,与此相反,在任意的色彩的背景内用金属色调的无彩色显示信息。
此外,作为第1相位差片12和第2相位差片13,采用使用满足nx>nz>ny的条件的Z型相位差片的办法,可以改善视场角。由于视场角特性改善,来自各个方向的光可以入射,其结果是,金属色调显示变得明亮,因而可以得到辨认性更好的液晶显示装置。
在上边所说的实施例中,虽然作为STN液晶元件使用的是225°扭曲,Rs=0.87微米的STN液晶元件20,但是即便是使用180°~270°扭曲,Rs=0.71~1.0的STN液晶元件,采用使吸收式偏振光片11和第1相位差片12和第2相位差片13和反射式偏振光片14的配置角度最佳化的办法,也可以得到同样的金属色调的显示。
此外,在本实施例中,虽然使用的是透射率46%的吸收式偏振光片11,但是,为要得到良好的亮度,理想的是使用透射率在45%以上,且偏振度在95%以上的偏振光片。不言而喻,即便是透射率不足45%的吸收式偏振光片,也可以使用,虽然显示多少有些暗。
[实施例2:图5到图8]
其次,参看图5到图8说明本发明的液晶显示装置的实施例2。
图5和图6是用来说明该液晶显示装置的构成要素的示意性的剖面图,对于和图1及图2对应的部分,赋予同一标号而省略说明或简单地进行说明。
本实施例2的液晶显示装置,也是半透过反射式液晶显示装置,除去取代实施例1的液晶显示装置中的第2相位差片13而设置扭曲相位差片16,从而省去了第1相位差片12这一点,和STN液晶元件20的扭曲角度不同这一点之外,与实施例1的构成是相同的。
在图5和图6所示的液晶显示装置中,STN液晶元件21虽然与实施例1的STN液晶元件20的构成是一样的,但是,封入夹持在第1基板1和第2基板2之间的向列液晶6则配向为逆时针旋转240°扭曲。
在STN液晶元件21的第1基板1的外侧(下侧)配置反射式偏振光片14,在反射式偏振光片14的外侧配置背光源15。
在第2基板2的外侧(上侧),中介扭曲相位差片地配置透射率46%的吸收式偏振光片11。
图6所示的液晶显示装置,在该吸收式偏振光片11的与扭曲相位差片16相反的一侧的表面上,设置与图2所示的无反射层同样的无反射层17。
至于反射式偏振光片14与在实施例1中使用的是一样的。
此外,第1基板1和第2基板2、第1电极3和第2电极4,也与在实施例1中使用的是一样的。
扭曲相位差片16,是这样一种薄膜:在经过了配向处理之后,把具有扭曲的液晶性高分子材料涂敷到三乙酰纤维素(TAC)薄膜或聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)薄膜上,在150℃的高温下成为液晶状态,在进行了扭曲角调整后,急冷到室温,固定化为该扭曲状态。
在本实施例中,使用扭曲角Tc=-240°,作为△nd值的Rc=0.80微米的顺时针旋转的扭曲相位差片16。
如图6所示,采用在吸收式偏振光片11的观看一侧的表面上,设置蒸镀了数层无机薄膜的反射率为0.5%左右的无反射层17的办法,降低吸收式偏振光片11的表面反射以改善透射率,使显示变得明亮起来。此外,由于向观看一侧反射的反射光被无反射层17散射,故可以用明亮且无彩色的金属色调得到柔和的色调。
其次,用图7和图8说明该液晶显示装置的各个构成构件的配置关系。
在第1电极3和第2电极4的表面上,形成配向膜(未画出来),如图7所示,采用对第1基板1的内面,在对于水平轴顺时针旋转30°的方向上进行研磨处理的办法,使液晶6的下液晶分子配向方向6a成为+30°。采用对第2基板2的内面,在对于水平轴沿逆时针旋转30°的方向上进行研磨处理的办法,使液晶6的上液晶分子配向方向6b成为-30°。
向黏度20cp的向列液晶6中添加叫做chiral剂的转角性物质,把扭曲节距P调整为11微米,形成左旋转240°扭曲的STN液晶元件21。
设所使用的向列液晶6的双折射之差△n为0.15,作为第1基板1和第2基板2的间隙的单元间隙d为5.4微米。因此,若设用向列液晶6的双折射之差△n和单元间隙d之积表示的STN液晶元件21的△nd值为Rs,则Rs=0.81微米。由于扭曲相位差片的相位差值Rc=0.80微米,故△R=Rs-Rf=0.01。
如果△R变大,则金属色调的显示带上色,一点一点地成为黄色,反之,如果△R极端地小,则透过光减少,显示全体变暗。因此,△R=0.005~0.05微米的范围是理想的。
反射式偏振光片14的透过轴14a,如图7所示,以水平轴为基准配置成+75°,吸收式偏振光片11的透过轴11a,如图8所示,以水平轴为基准配置成-15°。此外,扭曲相位差片16的下分子配向方向16a,以水平轴为基准配置成+60°,上分子配向方向16b则配置成-60°,成为在顺时针旋转方向上240°扭曲的状态。
在以上那样构成的实施例1的液晶显示装置中,在液晶元件21的第1、第2电极3、4间不加电压的状态下,由于到达反射式偏振光片14的线偏振光完全被反射式偏振光片14反射而向观看一侧返回,故将成为明亮且镜面那样的金属色调的无彩色显示。若给第1电极3和第2电极4之间加上电压,则由于向列液晶6的分子站立起来丧失旋光性,到达反射式偏振光片14的线偏振光将透过该反射式偏振光片,故在背光源15不发光的情况下,就可以观察因其表面的色彩而形成的显示色。在背光源发光的情况下,则可以观察因该背光源15的发光色而形成的显示色。
因此,可以采用任意地选择背光源15的表面的色彩和发光色的办法,使之在金属色调的无彩色的背景内,用任意的色彩显示信息,或者,与此相反,在任意的色彩的背景内用金属色调的无彩色显示信息。
此外,采用使用扭曲相位差片的办法,可以改善液晶显示装置的视场角特性,其结果是,可以明亮地显示金属色调,从而可以得到视场角更好的液晶显示装置。
在本实施例中,虽然作为STN液晶元件使用的是240°扭曲,Rs=0.84微米的STN液晶元件21,但是即便是使用180°~270°扭曲,Rs=0.71~1.0的STN液晶元件,采用使吸收式偏振光片11和扭曲相位差片16和反射式偏振光片14的配置角度最佳化的办法,也可以得到同样的显示装置。
在本实施例中,虽然使用的是透射率46%的吸收式偏振光片11,但是,为了得到良好的亮度,理想的是使用透射率在45%以上,且偏振度在95%以上的偏振光片。不言而喻,即便是透射率不足45%的吸收式偏振光片,也可以使用,虽然显示多少有些暗。
在本实施例中,作为扭曲相位差片16,虽然使用的是在室温下扭曲状态已固定化的液晶性聚合物薄膜,但是如果使用使液晶分子的一部分仅仅结合到锁状的聚合物分子上的、随着温度的变化Rc发生变化的温度补偿式扭曲相位差片,则可以改善在高温下的亮度或对比度,因而可以得到更为良好的液晶显示装置。
在本实施例中,作为第1基板1,虽然使用的是厚度为0.5mm的玻璃基板,但第1基板1的厚度越薄就可以得到越好的显示品质。但是,由于如果太薄,则作业性会降低,故实际上厚度在0.1mm~0.5mm的范围即可。此外,至于第1、第2基板,也可以使用聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯(PET)等的塑料基板来取代玻璃基板。
工业上利用的可能性
由以上的说明可知,倘采用本发明,就可以使使用STN液晶元件的信息显示的容量大的液晶显示装置,以明亮且高对比度,在无彩色的金属色调的背景内以任意的色彩显示信息,或进行使之反转的显示,就可以作成为在外观设计方面富有变化,时尚性优良的半透过反射式液晶显示装置。因此,该液晶显示装置,包括手表或手机、便携信息终端(PDA)在内,可以在各种的电子装置的显示装置中利用,可以提高其外观设计性和时尚性。
Claims (14)
1.一种液晶显示装置,具备:
在相向的内面上分别具有电极的透明的第1基板和第2基板之间夹持有以180°~270°扭曲进行配向的向列液晶而构成的STN液晶元件;
在该STN液晶元件的上述第1基板的外侧设置的反射式偏振光片;
在该反射式偏振光片和上述第1基板之间设置的第1相位差片;
在该反射式偏振光片的与上述相位差片相反的一侧设置的背光源;
在上述STN液晶元件的上述第2基板的外侧设置的吸收式偏振光片;以及
在该吸收式偏振光片和上述第2基板之间设置的第2相位差片。
2.权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:上述第1、第2相位差片,在把各自的延伸方向的折射率定义为nx,把与该延伸方向垂直的方向的折射率定义为ny,把厚度方向的折射率定义为nz时,是满足nx>nz>ny的条件的相位差片。
3.权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:上述吸收式偏振光片和上述反射式偏振光片,被配置为使得透过轴彼此垂直。
4.权利要求2所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:上述吸收式偏振光片和上述反射式偏振光片,被配置为使得透过轴彼此垂直。
5.权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:在上述吸收式偏振光片的与上述相位差片相反的一侧的表面上设置无反射层。
6.权利要求2所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:在上述吸收式偏振光片的与上述相位差片相反的一侧的表面上设置无反射层。
7.权利要求1所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:上述第1基板的厚度为0.1mm~0.5mm。
8.一种液晶显示装置,具备:
在相向的内面上分别具有电极的透明的第1基板和第2基板之间夹持有以180°~270°扭曲进行配向的向列液晶而构成的STN液晶元件;
在上述STN液晶元件的上述第1基板的外侧设置的反射式偏振光片;
在该反射式偏振光片的与上述第1基板相反的一侧设置的背光源;
在上述STN液晶元件的上述第2基板的外侧设置的吸收式偏振光片;以及
在该吸收式偏振光片和上述第2基板之间设置的扭曲相位差片。
9.权利要求8所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:在设上述STN液晶元件的扭曲角为Ts,上述扭曲相位差片的扭曲角为Tc时,上述两个扭曲角的绝对值之差△T=Ts-Tc的值处于0°~30°的范围内。
10.权利要求8所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:上述吸收式偏振光片和上述反射式偏振光片,被配置得使透过轴彼此垂直。
11.权利要求9所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:上述吸收式偏振光片和上述反射式偏振光片,被配置得使透过轴彼此垂直。
12.权利要求8所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:在上述吸收式偏振光片的与上述扭曲相位差片相反的一侧的表面上设置无反射层。
13.权利要求9所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:在上述吸收式偏振光片的与上述扭曲相位差片相反的一侧的表面上设置无反射层。
14.权利要求8所述的液晶显示装置,其特征是:上述第1基板的厚度为0.1mm~0.5mm。
