Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及带可取下顶层的太阳能电池单元。
背景技术
太阳能电池单元通常包括一由半导体材料组成的光致电压(PV)层,它设置在一前电极(在单元的前面,即在入射光的一侧)和一后电极(在单元的背面)之间。前电极是透明的,使入射光能到达半导体材料,在半导体材料处,进入的辐射被转换成电能。这样,光就可以用来产生电力,这样就提供一个令人感兴趣的例如矿物燃料电或核电的替代品。
太阳能电池单元的顶侧,即前电极的一侧用一透明的顶层保护,使之不受其环境的影响,该顶层包括例如玻璃片或一塑料基的片或层。当太阳能电池单元在使用时,其顶层经过相当时候要变脏,例如由于烟尘,砂子和其它来自周围区域的脏物沉积在其上而变脏。其结果为,顶层的透明度将降低,造成太阳能电池单元的发电量减少。当顶层用玻璃做时,原则上它可以被清洁,但是这是一个要花费劳动的过程,尤其是由于太阳能电池单元常常放在屋顶上或其它难于接近的地方。塑料基的顶层通常比基于玻璃片的顶层易碎。这意味着,一方面是顶层由于其周围例如由于砂子而损伤的危险仍然较大,另一方面是顶层的清洁甚至更困难。在其它应用场合例如其中一体地做有太阳能电池的可携带的应用场合中,可以想象,经过相当时候,外表面将由于接触而损伤,或以某些其它方式而影响外观。上述作用的结果为,该顶层可能最终决定太阳能电池单元的使用寿命,即使一般来说,它并不是太阳能电池单元的最贵的部分。
由于这一原因,需要有一种系统,采用它,可以避免太阳能电池单元的花费相当劳动的清洁,并且特别在塑料基顶层的情况下,太阳能电池单元的使用寿命可以延长。
发明内容
本发明的目的为解决这些问题,并且,为此而提供一太阳能电池单元,它包括一后电极、一光致电压层,一前电极和一透明的顶层,其特征为,在顶层的顶上有一层以上可逐层取下的透明的聚合物膜。在使用时,当按照本发明的太阳能电池单元变脏或受损伤,以致其表面的透明度降低到不能接受的水平时,可简单地将顶部的聚合物膜取下,得到一清洁而未损伤的新表面。这个过程可以按可得到的可取下的透明聚合膜数重复多次。
在本说明的正文中,顶层一词指的是稳定的顶层,即其内部的物理化学性能例如聚合程度在使用中基本不会改变的顶层。
可取下的透明的聚合物膜的数目由下述条件决定。透明的聚合物膜的数目太多,则经过透明的聚合物膜到达太阳能电池单元的活性(active)层的光量就变得过低。当透明的聚合膜的数目太少时,太阳能电池单元的表面不能以足够的次数经常更新,其结果为,本发明的作用不能充分实现。优选的是有2~10张可取下的透明的聚合物膜在顶层上方逐层堆叠,最好为3~5张膜。可取下的透明的聚合物膜的数目还取决于太阳能电池单元最终使用的地方。在太阳能电池单元用于高污染环境的场合,例如在高速公路两旁,要比在太阳能电池单元用在污染较少的环境时选用较多数目的可取下的透明的聚合物膜。

具体实施方式
在图2所示的实施例中,每个聚合物膜都在底侧备有粘结剂层,它对聚合物膜本身的粘附大于对下面层的粘附,以使当聚合物膜被取下时,粘结剂层与上述膜一起被取下。不过,根据聚合物膜的性质例如其静态性能不同,粘结剂层并不总是必不可少的。
本发明还涉及一用于用本发明的太阳能电池单元产生电力的方法。在此过程中,按照本发明的包括一顶层和至少一个可取下的透明聚合物膜的太阳能电池单元暴露至环境中。当位于太阳能电池单元的顶上的聚合物膜的透明度例如由于灰尘的沉积而降低至一不能接受的水平时,就取下顶上的聚合物膜,将其下面的聚合物膜暴露至环境中。当有多于一个的聚合物膜时,就可重复此步骤,直至所有聚合物膜都取下。于是,最后顶层本身就暴露至环境中。
已经知道的适用于可取下的透明的聚合物膜的材料如下。它们包括尤其是基于聚酯、聚酰胺、聚酰亚胺、聚醚砜、聚碳酸酯、聚烯烃、丙烯酸酯类和乙酸酯类的膜片。合适的例子包括用聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚酯、三乙酸纤维素、聚碳酸酯和聚酰胺做的膜片。本发明还包括设有用于抵抗强紫外线、气体和液体的透明的阻挡层的聚合物膜,以作为防污垢层。聚合物膜通常有5~60μm的厚度,最好为10~25μm。
不用说,如果有粘结剂的话,它必须是透明的。至于其它,可以使用对熟悉本技术的人均为已知的合适类型的粘结剂。在本说明书中,透明一词有这样的意义,即在光能通过光致电压层转换为电能的频率范围内透(导)光。
当选择可取下的透明的聚合物膜的材料并确定其厚度时,必须考虑下列事项。一方面,必须保持被聚合物膜吸收的光尽可能少,以使到达太阳能电池单元的活性层的光量尽可能大。另一方面,聚合物膜必须有这样的固有强度,以使它容易取下。考虑上述事项,熟悉本技术的人就能选择合适的可取下的透明的聚合物膜。
根据太阳能电池单元的大小,可以使可取下的透明的聚合物膜由许多相邻的段组成。在此情况下,要优先保证,在由许多彼此叠合的段组成的若干聚合物膜中,每个膜要将其各个段之间的过渡部位设置在与紧靠上方或下方的膜的过渡部位不同的地方,这样就防止许多膜同时被取下。
聚合物膜和任何粘结剂层可以用对熟悉本技术的人为已知的方式例如用层压法、涂刷等设置在太阳能电池单元上。
按照本发明的设有至少一个可取下的透明的聚合物膜的太阳能电池单元的性质并不重要。本发明可应用于刚性太阳能电池单元,例如顶层由玻璃片组成的太阳能电池单元,其例子为众所周知的基于晶体硅的太阳能电池单元。
不过,如同早先指出的那样,本发明对具有塑料顶层的太阳能电池单元的使用特别有吸引力,这是因为,一般来说,这种太阳能电池单元比具有用玻璃做的顶层的太阳能电池单元更容易受到损伤和产生污垢。具有一个塑料顶层的太阳能电池单元包括基于例如陶瓷载体的刚性太阳能电池单元,但是特别包括基于例如金属或塑料载体的柔性太阳能电池单元。本发明特别适用在用连续工艺制造的太阳能电池单元中,更具体的是,用在按例如在WO 98/13882或WO 99/49483中描述的卷装进出(roll-to-roll)工艺制造的柔性太阳能电池单元中。就制造上述柔性太阳能电池单元的工艺和在上述工艺中所用的材料而言,上述公开都作为参考包含在本说明中。

前电极通常为一透明的导电的氧化物(TCO)。合适的TCO包括铟锡氧化物、氧化锌、掺杂铝的氧化锌、掺杂氟的氧化锌或掺杂硼的氧化锌、硫化镉、氧化镉、氧化锡和掺杂F的SnO2。
