Abstract

Description
本发明涉及一种在绝缘壳体内具有导电接点的电连接器,特别涉及在壳体上用于使接点沿着壳体的薄的部分对准的结构。
按照美国专利US5,017,156和美国专利US5,073,130,一种电连接器包括设在绝缘体的相对侧上的两排电接点。绝缘体是其上安装接点的绝缘壳体的一部分。接点被成对地设置,每对接点彼此相对,并被安装在绝缘体的相对侧。按照美国专利US5,226,038,连接器中的接点被制成各自具有不同长度的弯曲部分。弯曲部分从壳体伸出。接点朝向用于固定壳体的电路板弯曲。
先前的专利中描述的连接器具有把每对接点分开的固体绝缘体。接点沿着在绝缘体的相对侧开出的浅槽延伸。绝缘体用模制操作制造,按照模制操作,熔融塑料被注入模制模的限定的空腔中,从而形成绝缘体的形状。通过凸进腔体内的相应的芯柱形成浅槽。因为槽是浅的,所以相应的芯柱是薄的。薄的芯柱被熔融塑料偏移错位,使得在制成的绝缘体中,由偏移的芯柱形成的浅槽不能和所需的位置对准。
本发明涉及电连接器上的绝缘体的结构,这种结构能够确保形成的浅槽不会错位。
按照本发明,浅槽在通过模制操作而制成的绝缘体的相对侧形成,并且芯柱开孔沿着浅槽之间的绝缘体延伸。浅槽沿着在模制操作期间通过芯柱而形成的芯柱开孔的相对侧延伸。开孔进入绝缘体的用于使芯柱从绝缘体中撤出的前面。浅槽和沿着浅槽的电接点比芯柱开孔宽,从而避免接点尖进入开孔,这样便把接点保持在精确的位置上。
本发明的实施例将参照附图以举例的方式进行说明,其中:

参见图1和图2,电连接器1包括绝缘壳体2,和装在壳体2上的多个电接点3。
参见图8,其中示出了三个一组的电接点3。接点3彼此在同一个平面内,其中的一个比其它的大。连接器1包括在壳体2中的两组接点3。现在说明一组接点3的结构。
参见图7-图10,每个接点3是一个单体结构,由具有一定厚度的平面金属薄板冲压而成。每个接点3包括细长的配合部分4,弯曲的或斜的中央部分5,和细长的端子7。端子7具有由接点3向着中央部分5的后方弯曲而形成的偏移8。在接点3上的偏移8处于同平面对齐状态。端子7垂直于配合部分4延伸。中央部分5被弯曲,以便连接配合部分4和端子7。接点3开始和承载带9相连,随后承载带9被切下并被除去。端子7的尖端10由第二承载带11连接,第二承载带11随后被切下并被除去。
每个接点3具有升高的接触表面12,通过在配合部分4沿轴线延伸拱形13形成。每个拱形部分13的前方斜向配合部分4上的锥形尖端14。在每个尖端3拱形13的后方,前凸起15和后凸起16被分开。凸起15,16通过贯通接点3的厚度冲开槽17被限定。槽17部分地包围着各个凸起15,16的周边,并限定在凸起15,16上的向后的边缘18,19。
前凸起15被弯曲离开相应的接点3的厚度的平面。前凸起15被弯曲而具有一定刚性。前凸起15具有向外凸出的向后的边缘18。后凸起16被弯曲离开其厚度的平面,并且具有向外凸出的向后的边缘19。
参见图1-6,壳体2是由模制塑料材料而制成的一个整体结构。在壳体2的内部是接点接收腔20。壳体2的后方21是敞开的。如图2,3所示,在壳体2上的薄的绝缘隔板22在腔体20内延伸,并向前向壳体2的外面伸向配合端部23的前部。升高的细长壁24从细长隔板22的相对侧的表面向外凸出。壁24用于限定沿着隔板22的相对侧上的表面延伸的接点接收腔25的侧边。每个槽25伸进配合端部23。每个槽25伸进在槽25的前方的配合端部23上的凹处26中。每个槽25通过壳体2上的前壁27延伸,并和壳体2中的腔体20连通。各个槽25和壳体2的前壁27中的较大的接点接收开口28连通。
如图3所示,通过壳体2的底壁31的两个窄开口30和壳体2的内部腔体20连通。开口30平行于隔板22延伸并与隔板22隔开一个偏移32。开口30和壳体2的后开口21连通。
如参照图8所述,一组接点3和承载带9分开,并由第二承载带11保持连在一起。这组接点3沿着隔板22的一个侧边进行装配。类似地,第二组接点3沿着隔板22的相对的侧边装配。现在说明一组接点3的装配过程。参见图2,每组接点3被装在壳体2的后开口21中,并在壳体2的内部向前向着前配合端部23移动。后凸起16提供了从接点3的厚度伸出的工具座,并且对着后所述工具座,一个没有示出的推力工具和其接合,以便向外推接点3。接点3被横向地支撑在隔板22上。
前凸起15进入壳体2上的前壁27中的各个接点接收开口28中。凸起15插入开口28中,以便使各个接点3定位,并把接点3推向隔板22。凸起15上的向后边缘18插入壳体2中,避免接点3向后移动。尖端3上的尖端14插入各个凹处26,如图2所示。凹处26限制接点3的进一步向前移动。凹处26阻止接点尖端14脱离槽25的限制。
端子7沿着窄的开口30被接收,并通过壳体2的底壁31伸出。尖端3上的偏移8紧靠底壁31的内表面,阻止尖端3通过底壁31脱落。尖端3上的配合部分4沿着壁24之间的槽25延伸,并从壳体2上的前壁27露出。然后,可以除去承载带11。
现在参照图2说明本发明的特征。为了在模制操作期间有利于形成槽25,在模制期间图3所示的细长的芯柱33插入前配合端部23。每个芯柱33被定位在隔板22的相对侧中形成的两个槽25之间。芯柱33的存在使得确保槽25在模制操作期间被精确地形成,并使得隔板22能够作得非常薄。薄的隔板22使得能够形成所需的小型壳体2。当芯柱33被除去时,小的圆周的芯柱开口34便出现在配合端部23中,如图5所示。芯柱开口34一直延伸到和槽25连通。芯柱33的圆周比槽25的宽度小,从而阻止接点3的尖端4落入由芯柱33形成的芯柱开孔34中。
虽然披露了本发明的最佳实施例,但本发明的其它实施例和改型被包括在所附权利要求的范围和构思中。
Claims (5)
1.一种电连接器,具有壳体,在壳体中的导电接点,导电接点具有沿着隔板的相对侧延伸的前方部分,隔板伸向和配合端部相邻的接点的尖端,以及沿着隔板的浅槽接收各个接点的前方部分的浅槽,在模制期间,浅槽被细长的芯柱限定,其特征在于:
配合端部包括在壳体模制期间由小的芯柱形成的贯通的芯柱开孔,所述芯柱开孔和槽的端部连通,小的芯柱通过细长槽形成芯柱和槽接合,在模制期间起支撑作用,小的芯柱开孔的圆周比槽的宽度小,从而阻止在装配时接点的尖端落入开孔中。
2.如权利要求1所述的连接器,其中在和配合端部相邻的槽的端部形成有凹处,其特征在于,凹处被斜壁所限定,从而在装配时限定一个所述接点的下方的下切的锥形尖端。
3.一种电连接器,具有壳体,和壳体内的导电接点,其特征在于:
接点包括插入壳体的前壁的开孔中的凸起,以及位于凸起上的向后边缘在把接点插入壳体中时插入壳体中,从而阻止在装配之后沿着开孔抽出。
4.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其进一步的特征在于,接点包括第一凸起后方的第二凸起,第二凸起突出,并提供工具座,一个推力工具和其接合,从而在装配期间向前朝向配合端部推动接点。
5.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其进一步的特征在于,接点包括相互对齐的端子和偏移,并且壳体包括底壁和接收端子的细的开口,并且其中偏移和底壁对准。
