Abstract
The present application relates to a cooling filter rod and a smoking article including the same, and more particularly, as a cooling filter rod having an internally hollow tubular shape and including a main body portion, a coating layer including an alkali chloride is formed on the hollow surface. By using the filter rod, a smoking article with improved durability of cigarette taste and smoke flavor can be provided while having an efficient cooling function.
Description
Technical Field
The present application relates to a cooled filter rod and a smoking article comprising the same.
Background
In the heating type tobacco rod, in order to generate smoke smell in the medium portion (including substances generating smoke smell and aerosol including tobacco raw materials such as tobacco shreds and flavors), it is necessary to use special equipment for heating. The conventional heating type special device for a tobacco rod, which has been developed so far for generating smoke smell, is designed to have a temperature program for realizing high-temperature heating in consideration of the transfer to the inside of the medium part. The heating temperature is generally between 200 ℃ and 400 ℃, and a large amount of water vapor is generated when the medium part cigarette rod is heated by equipment, unlike the traditional cigarette in which tobacco shred is burnt for inhalation. The temperature of the medium part inside due to heating reaches 100 ℃ to 200 ℃. The temperature of the air flow generated inside the medium section reaches a similar level, and if no cooling element is provided downstream of the medium section, the smoker may inhale the hot air.
At present, development and research on cooling elements for reducing the cost and improving the functions of the novel heating type cigarette rod are very active.

The cooling filter rod and the smoking article comprising the cooling filter rod according to the present application will be described in detail below by way of examples and accompanying drawings. The application is not limited to the embodiments and figures.
The present application relates to a cooled filter rod 120 comprising a coating comprising an alkali chloride.
As shown in fig. 1, the cooling filter rod 120 of the present application may be in the shape of a tube (tube) having a hollow 120H therein. A coating is formed on the hollow interior surface, i.e., the passage through which the upstream inflow gas passes.
According to an embodiment of the application, the coating has a basis weight of 1 to 30% relative to the basis weight of the filter rod and comprises an alkali metal chloride which is applied to the hollow surface of the interior of the filter rod, dissolves with moisture generated when the alkali metal chloride is heated by the smoking article and reacts endothermically, thereby providing a cooling effect on the airflow. And, the alkali metal chloride is a material which is easy to degrade in soil, and is an environment-friendly cooling filter stick.
According to an embodiment of the present application, the alkali metal chloride may be one or more selected from the group consisting of sodium chloride, potassium chloride, and lithium chloride. Preferably, the alkali chloride is sodium chloride. The sodium chloride can absorb moisture in the air flow during smoking, and can generate endothermic reaction based on moisture absorption, thereby being beneficial to reducing the temperature of main stream smoke.
According to an embodiment of the present application, the coating layer may further include one or more selected from the group consisting of cellulose, cellulose derivatives, resin alcohols, and saccharides, the cellulose derivatives may be one or more selected from the group consisting of methyl cellulose, ethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, carboxyethyl cellulose, hydroxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose, and agar, and the resin alcohols may be polyvinyl alcohol, but are not limited thereto. The saccharide may be one or more selected from the group consisting of sugar alcohols, monosaccharides, disaccharides, oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides, but is not limited thereto. The sugar alcohol may be sorbitol, xylitol, mannitol, maltitol or lactitol, the monosaccharide may be fructose, glucose or galactose, the disaccharide may be sucrose, lactose or maltose, and the polysaccharide may be starch, dietary fiber or glycogen.
The cellulose, cellulose derivative, resinous alcohol or saccharide undergoes a phase change at the temperature of the airflow generated when smoking the cigarette, thereby achieving an endothermic effect. Therefore, the above-mentioned material is added to the alkali metal chloride and used, and the cooling effect can be further improved.
According to an embodiment of the application, the cellulose, cellulose derivative, resinous alcohol or saccharide may be coated in a manner having a basis weight of 1% to 15% relative to the basis weight of the filter rod, preferably having a basis weight of 0.5 to 1.5%. When falling within this range, the cooling effect can be further improved.
The cooling filter rod 120 may be made of paper, polymeric or cellulose acetate material. Paper is preferably used, but is not limited thereto. The thickness, length, etc. of the cooling filter rod may vary depending on the smoking article to which it is applied, preferably having a length of 5mm or more and a circumference of 14 to 27 mm.
