Abstract

背景技术
本发明涉及医疗器械,并且更具体地,涉及对于床和椅子的改进,使得它们适于收集来自患者的身体废物。本发明体现了一种用于改进床和椅子以从中收集粪便的附件,从而有利于无法走动(non-ambulatory)患者的护理和清洁。
为了清理无法走动患者的粪便,护理者需要抬高患者,但出于以下原因这是有问题的。首先,这种身体抬高可能对双方都造成危险:例如,对于护理者的背部伤害。其次,升降机的使用是常见的且已知会伤害患者和护理者。此外,在无法走动患者中,肥胖的流行是已被确认的,因此操作升降机来抬高患者通常需要两名护理者。然后,患者脱掉衣服并洗澡,然后程序颠倒进行。简而言之,清洁无法走动患者的全部过程和组成部分占据了护理者本可以用于患者其它方面的时间和精力。
另外,根据埃博拉病毒(Ebola)和其它疾病,众所周知处理被感染的废物会对护理者和医护人员产生危害。
无法走动患者在清洁不当或没有充分清洁时,会产生褥疮和皮肤感染。特别地,对于老年人来说,这些情况可能是威胁生命的。
有记载的忽视和虐待卧床患者的案例几乎总是包括停止更换弄脏的内衣和对无法走动患者进行相关清洁。可以说,这项艰巨而吃力不讨好的任务可能在上述忽视和虐待的发生中起到一定作用。同样值得注意的是,随着人口老龄化,存放在垃圾填埋场的成人纸尿裤的数量在稳步增加。
环境问题包括地下水的污染,以及对在这些地方觅食的鸟和小动物的影响。
可以看出,对床和椅子进行改进以使其适合于收集无法走动患者的身体废物是有必要的。这种改进使得患者能够被简单地引导到释放位置,从而不需要与患者身体接触就可以收集身体废物——之后,患者很容易被清理干净,整个体验对患者来说创伤较小。
因此,成人纸尿裤的使用减少,患者在排便过程中更舒适,除了清洗以外护理者所需的工作量最小,并且患者同样可以就地清洗或沐浴,而不用将身体移动到新的位置——这会降低对患者和护理者的压力。
发明内容
在本发明的一个方面,一种用于由支承表面(resting surface)支撑的患者的身体废物收集系统,包括以下:废物入口,其接合所述支承平面;收集单元,其通过柔性导管系统流体耦接到(fluidly coupled to)所述废物入口;以及集成至收集单元的样本端口。这也允许接近用于测试的废物,同时为试剂或传感器提供接入点。
在本发明的另一方面,所述用于由支承表面支撑的患者的身体废物收集系统包括以下:废物入口,其接合所述支承平面;收集单元,其通过柔性导管系统流体耦接到所述废物入口;集成至收集单元的样本端口;空气去除端口,其集成至所述采集单元;从废物入口向上延伸的漏斗,其中所述漏斗终止于所述支承表面,其中穿过所述支承表面形成排放口;以及当不使用时封住废物入口的塞子。这与正常使用的床表面无缝结合。
在本发明的又一方面,一种用于从卧床的患者收集身体废物的方法,所述方法包括以下:提供上述的身体废物收集系统;将卧床的患者定位在沿着不可渗透的床单由废物入口限定的释放位置;以及在收集身体废物后,提升床单远端边缘以辅助身体废物的流穿过废物入口。这种布置也允许清洗患者。

大体上,本发明的实施例提供了一种用于卧床的或依靠轮椅(chair-bound)的患者的身体废物收集系统。废物入口可以通过终止于支承平面的漏斗与床或椅子的支承平面接合。收集单元可以通过柔性导管系统流体耦接到废物入口。收集单元可以包括温度计、体积测量器、样本端口和空气置换端口。一旦卧床或依靠轮椅的患者采用了沿着支承平面由废物入口限定的释放位置,则不需要患者的其他提升或者移动来将他们的身体废物收集在收集单元中,该收集单元可以利用集成硬件。此时,可以通过样本端口移除废物样本,或者可以通过从柔性单元分离来移除整个收集单元。试剂可以直接添加到容器中以生成所需的反应产物,来帮助分析废物。研究人员避免了身体接触以及废物可能的感染。废物避免了转移到其他容器造成的进一步污染。
所述容器提供可视化信息,如颜色、数量、温度、物理形态(液体或固体),这些信息对护理者可能很重要。流量可以很容易被计算。容器中传感器的存在可以提供以电子方式传输到远程位置或设备的信息。这些都是有助于分析患者健康状况的参数。
现在参考图1至图11,本发明可以包括废物收集单元10,其通过柔性导管系统28、32、60、70可流体连接至支承表面中的废物入口34或58,例如沿着椅子66的座部68或床62的床垫38或52。
在某些实施例中,柔性导管系统60在相对于固体单元56在横向方向上定向。漏斗30或54从废物入口34或58向上延伸。漏斗30或54的远端可以在排放口44处与支承表面接合。排放口44可包括在床62的床垫38、52和床单42或椅子66的座部68中的开口。所述界面可限定用于排出粪便或尿液的身体废物的患者的解剖结构的释放位置。废物入口34或58可由塞子36封闭。

在某些实施例中,收集单元10可以被移除,污水管(sewer)导管46可与柔性导管28流动地连接。
在某些实施例中,支撑枕64可有助于患者采取或被引导到释放位置,类似于移动可调节病床以同样帮助患者采取释放位置。当普通床配备有本发明的便携型号时,也会发生这种情况。
一种使用本发明的方法可以包括以下内容。可以提供上述公开的收集单元10。收集单元10与柔性导管系统28和60流体耦接,柔性导管系统28和60又与废物入口34或58流体连接。患者可被定位在上述整个系统的排放口44的上方,处于释放位置。在那里,患者可以释放身体废物,而不必从他们的床上或椅子上移开。
当废物无传染性时,收集单元10可被移除,废物被转移至污水管系统(柔性单元28与污水管线连接)。可以用纸清洁人员,然后进行冲洗,或者也可以通过淋浴进行坐浴盆式清洁。在某些实施例中,当要移除大量的水时,柔性导管系统可以连接到家庭废水系统。
此外,本发明可制成便携式,允许在运输车辆中使用。如果不需要改造床,也可以在家中使用便携式装置。图10中示出这点。该系统也可以根据图11改装到轮椅上。
当然,应当理解,前述内容涉及本发明的示例性实施例,并且可以在不脱离如在下述权利要求中所阐述的本发明的精神和范围的情况下进行修改。
Claims (9)
1.一种用于由支承表面支撑的患者的身体废物收集系统,包括:
废物入口,其接合所述支承表面;
收集单元,其通过柔性导管系统流体耦接到所述废物入口;以及
集成至所述收集单元的样本端口。
2.根据权利要求1所述的身体废物收集系统,还包括从所述废物入口向上延伸的漏斗,其中所述漏斗终止于所述支承表面处。
3.根据权利要求1所述的身体废物收集系统,其中穿过所述支承表面形成排放口。
4.根据权利要求1所述的身体废物收集系统,其中所述支承表面是床的床垫。
5.根据权利要求4所述的身体废物收集系统,其中所述支承表面是椅子的座部。
6.根据权利要求4所述的身体废物收集系统,其中所述支承表面还包括也具有相关的排放口的床单。
7.根据权利要求1所述的身体废物收集系统,还包括用于密封所述废物入口的塞子。
8.一种用于由支承表面支撑的患者的身体废物收集系统,包括:
废物入口,其接合所述支承表面;
收集单元,其通过导管系统流体耦接到所述废物入口;
集成至所述收集单元的样本端口;
集成至所述收集单元的气味去除端口;
从所述废物入口向上延伸的漏斗,其中所述漏斗终止于所述支承表面处,其中排放口穿过所述支承表面形成;以及
用于密封所述废物入口的塞子。
9.一种收集来自卧床患者的身体废物的方法,所述方法包括:
提供权利要求7所述的身体废物收集系统;
将所述卧床患者沿着床单定位在由所述废物入口限定的释放位置;和
在收集所述身体废物之后,提升所述床单的远端边缘以辅助所述身体废物的流穿过所述废物入口。
