Abstract

Description

聚乙烯多层薄膜
本发明涉及特别用于包装码垛堆积的设备的多层薄膜以及涉及该多层薄膜的制造方法。
在一项在先的意大利专利申请中,已经揭示过一些多层薄膜,这些多层薄膜具有高的韧性和良好的拉伸性,这些多层薄膜是由掺有低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)的线型低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)制得的。
在上述在先申请中所揭示的制造方法包括下列步骤:
-在一组挤压机中,将与LDPE掺合的LLDPE和至少一种具有粘合性的聚合物材料进行挤压;
-使该材料在挤压机的作用下,在挤压机的出口处层化;
-经层化的材料在大气中通过扩展头的唇缘排出到大气中,然后送至高速旋转的第一冷却滚筒上,该滚筒用保持在10℃至30℃的水冷却;
-将从第一滚筒排出的薄膜送至用水冷却使温度低于第一滚筒并保持在10℃至20℃的第二滚筒,第二滚筒的圆周速度(旋转速度)比第一滚筒的速度高10至40%。
扩展头的狭缝、扩展头的唇缘与第一滚筒之间的距离以及该唇缘与材料在第一滚筒上的接触点的距离均调节在规定的范围内。
如此得到的薄膜的屈服点为15至35N/mm2,极限伸长率为200%至500%。
现在我们出乎意料地发现可以制得多层薄膜,这些多层薄膜的刚性和拉伸性包括在上述在先意大利申请中所揭示的薄膜的刚性和拉伸性的范围内,而且这些多层薄膜与在先意大利申请中所揭示的薄膜相比还具有一些新的特性,刚性更好但仍可拉伸,它们是由LLDPE制备的,但不加入LDPE。
我们还发现,用LLDPE与少量LDPE的混合物(后者的量为8至40重量%),通过适当地控制薄膜的冷却和拉伸条件,也可以得到刚性高但可拉伸的薄膜。
这些薄膜的制备方法与上述在先意大利申请中所揭示的方法类似。然而,在制备非常刚硬的薄膜时,工艺上有些不同。
这些薄膜是用已知的流延挤塑技术进行制备的。该技术中使用一组挤压机(两个或更多),通常为带有跨距可变的螺杆的单螺杆挤压机,使材料良好地均化,这些挤压机向一个设备(称为进料装置)进料,该设备通过机械作用使来自挤压机的材料在挤压机的作用下层化。
从进料装置出来的棒材是一种多层材料,其中的中间层来自直径较大的挤压机,而外层来自其它的挤压机。
然后将该棒材送至扩展头,该棒材再通过机械作用由扩展头通过一细小狭缝排出到大气中,形成宽度大于厚度的塑料薄膜。
然后,将该塑料薄膜覆在第一冷却滚筒上,高速旋转,使该材料取向。再将该薄膜从第一滚筒送至也用水冷却的第二滚筒。
当挤压机的挤出量和其它条件相同时,薄膜的厚度取决于第一滚筒的圆周速度(旋转速度):实际上,该滚筒的速度越快,薄膜的厚度越薄。
然后,将来自上述冷却滚筒的薄膜收集在具有适宜宽度和长度的卷绕筒上。
薄膜在卷绕筒上的卷绕运动是通过一系列机动滚子(各滚子作正向相对旋转)对薄膜施以恒定张力而均匀进行的。
根据本发明的方法,LLDPE和至少一种与LLDPE相容并使薄膜具有粘合性的聚合物材料以及任选的与LLDPE相容的其它材料在一组挤压机中挤塑。挤压出来的材料在挤压机的作用下层化,该层化的棒材再通过扩展头的狭缝排出形成塑料薄膜,接着将该薄膜送至以高圆周速度(从300m/min至450m/min)旋转的第一滚筒上,用温度保持在10℃至25℃的水冷却,然后将薄膜再置于第二滚筒上,该滚筒用温度为10℃至20℃的水冷却,其温度低于第一滚筒所用水的温度。
第二滚筒的圆周速度(旋转速度)比第一滚筒的速度快10-40%。
从扩展头出来的材料的温度通常为230℃至260℃。
狭缝的尺寸为0.3至0.5mm;扩展头的唇缘和第一滚筒之间的距离为2mm至5mm,较好为3-5mm,该唇缘与第一滚筒上材料接触点之间的距离为10至15cm。
调节该狭缝的尺寸可以控制薄膜的最终厚度以及其所经受的拉伸作用。
扩展头的唇缘与第一滚筒上材料的接触点之间的距离可以通过将滚筒移近(拉远)扩展头出口处的唇缘进行调节,也可以通过在冷却滚筒上的薄膜接触点附近运行的吸气装置产生的压力降进行调节。产生的压力降能使薄膜很好地附着在滚筒上。
通过改变吸气,可以改变材料从扩展头的唇缘移动至冷却滚筒这段距离的具体途径,同时也改变材料接触点。
该唇缘与接触点的距离越大,所得材料的弹性越高。
操作时应避免薄膜在第一滚筒和第二滚筒之间产生滑动,例如,可使薄膜经受反压来达到这一点。
为了制备具有高屈服点(40至80N/mm2)但仍具有高极限伸长率(50至100%)的薄膜,使第一滚筒冷却水的温度保持在15℃至18℃,而第二滚筒的冷却水的温度保持在12℃至15℃。第二滚筒的圆周速度(旋转速度)要比第一滚筒的圆周速度高20至30%。
上述条件也适用于由LLDPE与8至40%(重量)的LDPE的混合物为原料,制备具有高屈服点(35至70N/mm2)和高极限伸长率(60至200%)的多层薄膜。
与单独由LLDPE得到的薄膜相比,当其它条件和屈服点相同时,由LLDPE与LDPE的混合得到的薄膜需要采用更大的冷却滚筒之间的速度差。
本发明的多层薄膜的厚度为2至100微米;较好的厚度为8至20微米。
用于制造薄膜的LLDPE是人们熟知的聚合物。它可使用齐格勒-纳塔催化剂或金属茂催化剂进行制备。
LLDPE也可以与其它的聚合物材料混合以提高其加工性能。所述材料可包括,例如,部分结晶的丙烯与少量丁烯和/或乙烯的共聚物。
LLDPE的密度较好为0.915至0.935g/cm3(ASTMD1505)。
熔体指数较好为2至3g/10(ASTMD238-65T,E条件)。
LDPE也是人们熟知的聚合物。为了使薄膜具有粘合性,将LLDPE和一层与LLDPE相容的聚合物材料层共挤塑,优选密度为0.895至0.910g/cm3的LLDPE。
对于某些用途,薄膜需要具有滑动性能,以防止在相互接触时,平面之间产生粘合。
较好的是使用密度为0.930g/cm3左右的LLDPE,可以使薄膜的内表面和外表面具有滑动性能。
因此,本发明的薄膜包括主层,一般为中间层,具有粘合性的材料层,以及任选的密度高于LLDPE主层的LLDPE层。
用于制造薄膜的聚合物可含有该领域常用的添加剂,例如颜料、抗氧剂、成核剂。也可使用与LLDPE相容的聚合物,其用量以达到提高LLDPE的性能为宜。
本发明的薄膜的特点是具有高的刚性以及良好的拉伸性。
与在通常的流延挤塑条件下得到的普通LLDPE薄膜相比,本发明薄膜的屈服点是其三倍或更大,其值为15至80N/mm2
极限伸长率恰好在实用的范围,即50至500%。
LLDPE基多层薄膜具有良好的刚性或拉伸性是人们已知的。
然而这些薄膜是通过对流延挤塑制备的薄膜进行拉伸而得到的。
制备这些薄膜的方法相当复杂,因为这意味着要将流延挤塑制备的薄膜解卷,然后在拉伸之后将其复卷。为了得到高的屈服点,要使用非常高的拉伸比。
如此得到的薄膜具有50N/mm2左右的屈服点和60-70%左右的极限伸长率。
下面的实施例用于进行说明,但它们并不限制本发明的范围。实施例1
向一组螺杆跨距可调的单螺杆挤压机A-C中,依次加入LLDPE Dow2100(密度为0.918g/cm3)(挤压机A)、聚乙烯Dow 4104(密度为0.904g/cm3)(挤压机B)和聚乙烯LLDPE Dow 22376(密度为0.928g/cm3)(挤压机C)。
在各挤压机的出口处的物料挤出量分别为70%、7%和15%。A-C挤压机的螺杆转速分别为57、63和85rpm,在挤压机出口处熔融物料的温度分别为265℃、180℃和265℃。
将从挤压机排出的物料加入进料装置,使该物料在挤压机的作用下层化,供进入扩展头之用。
扩展头的狭缝为0.5mm,扩展头唇缘和材料与第一冷却滚筒的接触点之间的距离调节为15mm。从狭缝排出的物料的温度为235℃。
第一滚筒的水温保持在18℃。圆周速度为340m/min。
从第一滚筒排出的物料的温度低于90℃。然后该物料进入用保持12℃的水冷却的第二滚筒。第二滚筒的速度为430m/min。
在恒定张力下将从冷却滚筒排出的薄膜收集在具有给定宽度和长度的卷绕筒上。

Claims (19)

1.通过流延挤塑技术制造聚乙烯多层薄膜的方法,该多层薄膜的中间层含有线型低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE),制造步骤包括:
a)用一组挤压机挤塑密度为0.915至0.935g/cm3的LLDPE聚乙烯和至少一种具有粘合性的聚合物材料,
b)使经挤塑的材料在挤压机的作用下层化,
c)将层化的物料通过扩展头的唇缘推挤出来进入大气,
d)将从扩展头排出的物料收集在一冷却滚筒上,该冷却滚筒用保持在10℃至25℃的水冷却,
e)将从第一冷却滚筒排出的薄膜送至第二冷却滚筒,该第二冷却滚筒的冷却水温度保持在10℃至20℃,比第一冷却滚筒的冷却水温度低,第二滚筒的圆周速度或旋转速度比第一滚筒高10-40%。

4.如权利要求1、2或3所述的方法,其特征在于扩展头的唇缘和第一滚筒之间的距离为2mm至5mm,该唇缘与经挤塑的物料在第一滚筒上的接触点之间的距离为10至15mm。
5.如权利要求1、2、3或4所述的方法,其特征在于扩展头的狭缝尺寸为0.3至0.5mm。
6.如前面任何一项权利要求所述的方法,其特征在于粘合性聚合物材料是与聚乙烯相容的,所述材料是密度为0.895至0.910g/cm3的LLDPE。
7.如权利要求6所述的方法,其特征在于粘合性材料的用量为中间层LLDPE重量的5至15%。
8.制造聚乙烯多层薄膜的方法,其中该薄膜中的中间层薄膜含有与低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)混合的LLDPE,该薄膜的屈服点为35至70N/mm2,极限伸长率为60至200%,该方法是用如权利要求1中所述方法的各个步骤进行流延挤塑,其特征在于第一冷却滚筒的冷却水的温度保持在15℃至18℃,而第二滚筒的冷却水的温度低于第一滚筒的冷却水温度,保持在12℃至15℃,第二滚筒的圆周速度或旋转速度比第一滚筒高20至30%。
9.如权利要求8所述的方法,其特征在于滚筒的速度为300至450m/min,扩展头的唇缘和第一滚筒之间的距离为2mm至5mm,该唇缘与经挤塑的物料在第一滚筒上的接触点之间的距离为10至15mm,扩展头的狭缝尺寸为0.3至0.5mm。
10.如权利要求8和9所述的方法,其特征在于粘合性材料是密度为0.895至0.910g/cm3的LLDPE。
11.特别适用于包装码垛堆积设备的多层薄膜,其特征在于它含有由密度为0.915至0.935g/cm3的线型低密度聚乙烯形成的主层,所述薄膜是通过流延挤塑得到的,屈服点为15至80N/mm2,极限伸长率为50至500%。
12.如权利要求11所述的薄膜,其特征在于屈服点为40至80N/mm2,极限伸长率为50至100%。
13.如权利要求11所述的薄膜,其特征在于将LLDPE聚乙烯与8至40%(重量)的低密度聚乙烯LDPE混合,该薄膜的屈服点为35至70N/mm2,极限伸长率为60至200%。
14.如权利要求11、12或13所述的薄膜,其特征在于含有具有粘合性的与LLDPE相容的材料层。
15.如权利要求14所述的薄膜,其特征在于该粘合性材料层是由密度为0.895至0.910g/cm3的LLDPE形成的。
16.如权利要求14或15所述的薄膜,其特征在于粘合性材料层的用量为LLDPE主层的5至15%(重量)。
17.如权利要求11至16所述的薄膜,其特征在于其厚度为2至100微米。
18.如权利要求11至17所述的薄膜用于包装码垛堆积的设备。
19.如权利要求11至17所述的薄膜用于包装码垛堆积的设备,其特征在于码垛堆积设备的单元为矿泉水容器、纸卷、砖块、机械部件、陶瓷制品、食品和药品、层压制件和型材(profilates)。
