Abstract
加入牙用组合物中优选用作增稠剂的二氧化硅颗粒,其上涂敷有聚醚二醇如聚乙二醇用于增强牙膏的粘性。
Description
本发明涉及用于牙用组合物中的颗粒材料如合成无定形二氧化硅,特别是沉淀二氧化硅,其在这类组合物中特别用作增稠剂。本发明还涉及含这类颗粒材料的牙用组合物。
牙用组合物中含有多种特定成分,例如颗粒材料如无定形二氧化硅、氟化物源、粘度调节剂、防腐剂、保湿剂、表面活性剂、抗牙菌斑剂、抗牙结石剂、抗过敏剂、着色剂、水、调味剂和其他任选成分,其中应用颗粒材料的增稠和/或研磨特性。
保湿剂体系一般基于食用多元醇,如甘油、山梨醇、聚丙二醇、聚乙二醇(PEG)或其适用的混合物,其用于防止牙膏干化。聚乙二醇可任选地用于调节制剂的粘度和粘性-例如参见美国专利3689637。例如与甘油或山梨醇相比,PEG是较昂贵的牙用制剂用组分。
本发明的一个方面在于提供一种用于牙用组合物中的颗粒材料,该颗粒材料包含涂敷了聚醚二醇的二氧化硅颗粒。
优选的二氧化硅颗粒具有高结构化,从而引入到牙用组合物(如果未施加聚醚二醇)中用作增稠剂。意外地发现与相同结构的不含聚醚二醇的二氧化硅相比,将聚醚二醇用于二氧化硅可进一步改善在牙用制剂中的增稠性。
某些牙用制剂已包含聚醚二醇。通过使用已施用了聚醚二醇如聚乙二醇的二氧化硅颗粒,可借助于颗粒材料引入至少一部分牙用组合物所用的聚醚二醇。意外地发现将聚醚二醇与颗粒材料共用,牙用组合物达到预定粘性所需的聚醚二醇的用量明显降低。此外,通过将适用的聚醚二醇涂敷于颗粒材料,由于粘度调节剂有利于过滤功效,因此更易于经润湿法生产颗粒材料。
本发明的第二个方面是提供一种牙用组合物,其中含有水、保湿剂和经分散的颗粒材料(优选其用作增稠剂),其特征在于该颗粒材料含有在加入到牙用组合物前涂敷了聚醚二醇的二氧化硅颗粒。
本发明另一个方面是提供一种生产用于牙用组合物的颗粒二氧化硅材料的方法,其中二氧化硅是通过下述方法制备的:使碱金属硅酸盐溶液与酸接触以制备二氧化硅,然后将其粉碎成至多30微米的重均粒度,其特征在于所述二氧化硅是增稠二氧化硅,和在粉碎到所需粒度之前或之后将选自聚乙二醇和聚丙二醇且平均分子量为200-20000的聚醚二醇的水溶液与如此形成二氧化硅相混合,且该二氧化硅随后经干燥再加入到所述牙用组合物中。
当牙用组合物中含有的聚醚二醇载带于二氧化硅颗粒上,甚至牙用组合物中基本上全部的聚醚二醇载带于二氧化硅颗粒上,而非作为独立组分存在于牙用组合物中,有利地发现需要基本上较少的聚醚二醇以提供特定的牙用粘性。对于只有在不含PEG的条件下才能获得良好透明度的高含水透明牙膏制剂,本发明特别有利。从制剂中除去PEG以达到良好的透明度会降低牙膏的粘性。通过加入本发明的载带有聚醚二醇的二氧化硅可恢复牙用粘性。
此外,与相同量聚醚二醇在制剂中作为独立组分加入时相比,如果由二氧化硅载带聚醚二醇,可达到更高的牙用粘性。并且与未经聚醚处理的二氧化硅颗粒相比,当以相同的承载量(重量)加入时,经聚醚处理的二氧化硅颗粒提供更高粘性的牙膏。
聚醚二醇一般由平均分子量(即数均分子量)为200-20000的聚乙二醇和/或聚丙二醇构成。目前优选的聚乙二醇(PEG)的平均分子量为4000-12000,优选5000-10000,更优选约5000-7000,例如约6000。
牙用组合物一般为不透明、半透明或透明的牙膏、凝胶、膏霜或液体形式。例如可对水、保湿剂和分散颗粒材料(增稠二氧化硅)进行适当调整以控制牙用组合物的物理特性。
组合物中的保湿剂组分可包含多元醇如甘油、山梨醇糖浆、聚丙二醇、乳糖醇、木糖醇或氢化玉米糖浆。保湿剂的总量例如占组合物的10-85%(重量)。
牙用组合物的含水量一般为1%至约90%(重量),优选为约10-约60%(重量),更优选为约15-约50%(重量)。对于透明牙膏,优选范围是约1-约35%(重量)。
在本发明的优选实施方案中,负载有聚醚二醇的二氧化硅颗粒材料在组合物中的总量为约0.1-约50%(重量),优选约0.5-15%(重量),最优选为约1-10%(重量)。
本发明的牙用组合物中另外可含有一种或多种附加组分,如下文所述。
本发明组合物中可含有一种或多种表面活性剂,优选选自阴离子、非离子、两性和两性离子表面活性剂,以及它们的混合物,其均适于牙用和/或口用。本发明的组合物中表面活性剂的用量一般为约0.1-约3%(重量)(以100%活性为基础计)。
适用的阴离子表面活性剂可包括皂类、烷基硫酸盐、烷基醚硫酸盐、烷芳基磺酸盐、烷酰基羟乙磺酸盐、烷酰基牛磺酸盐、烷基琥珀酸盐、烷基磺基琥珀酸盐、N-烷氧基(alkoyl)肌氨酸盐、烷基磷酸盐、烷基醚磷酸盐、烷基醚羧酸盐和α-烯烃磺酸盐,特别是它们的钠盐、镁盐、铵盐和单-、二-和三乙醇胺盐。烷基和酰基一般含8-18个碳原子,并且可以是饱和的。每分子烷基醚硫酸盐、烷基醚磷酸盐和烷基醚羧酸盐可含1-10个环氧乙烷或环氧丙烷单元,优选含2-3个环氧乙烷单元。优选阴离子表面活性剂的实例包括月桂基硫酸钠、十二烷基苯磺酸钠、月桂酰基肌氨酸钠和椰油单甘酸酯磺酸钠。
可以适用于本发明组合物的非离子表面活性剂包括脱水山梨醇和脂肪酸聚甘油酯,以及环氧乙烷/环氧丙烷嵌段共聚物。
适用的两性表面活性剂包括甜菜碱如椰油酰胺基丙基甜菜碱和磺基甜菜碱。
本发明的牙用组合物中还可含有适用的熟知的聚合物悬浮剂或增稠剂,如聚丙烯酸、丙烯酸共聚物和交联聚合物、含疏水单体的丙烯酸共聚物、含羧酸的单体与丙烯酸酯的共聚物、丙烯酸和丙烯酸酯的交联共聚物、乙二醇的酯或聚乙二醇的酯(例如其脂肪酸酯)、杂多糖胶如黄原胶和瓜尔木胶,以及纤维素衍生物如羧甲基纤维素钠。特别适用的增稠剂是黄原胶和羧甲基纤维素钠。这类试剂(可单用或以上述两种或多种成分的混合物形式应用)在组合物中的总含量可以是约0.1-约5%(重量)。
牙用组合物中可含有一种或多种常用于口用组合物中的其他组分,包括以下组分:调味成分如薄荷、留兰香;人工甜味剂;香精或口腔清净物质;珠光剂;过氧化物如过氧化氢和过乙酸;遮光剂;颜料或着色剂;防腐剂;增湿剂;含氟化合物;抗龋剂和抗牙菌斑剂;抗牙结石剂;抗过敏剂;治疗剂如柠檬酸锌,玉洁纯(Ciba Geigy出品);蛋白质;酶;盐;小苏打和pH调节剂。此外,牙用组合物一般还含有含量为约1-60%(重量)的擦洗剂。其中包括摩擦性二氧化硅、白垩、水合氧化铝、磷酸钙、焦膦酸钙、羟基磷灰石、不溶性偏磷酸盐等。
本发明的牙用组合物可由制备这类组合物的常用方法制得。膏体或膏霜可由常规技术制成,例如在真空下采用高剪切混合体系。
最合适的用于涂敷聚醚二醇的二氧化硅颗粒是在不含聚醚二醇时给组合物提供增稠作用的那些成分,即中度、高度或极高结构化的二氧化硅。这些成分还可是定量如下的二氧化硅:吸油量高于约125、优选200cm3/100g;汞注入孔隙体积高于约2.0、优选3.0、最优选4.0cm3/g;重均粒度最高约为30微米(优选最高约为20微米),以及在105℃下的水分损失低于约25、优选15%(重量)。
根据本发明的另一方面,提供了颗粒二氧化硅材料的生产方法,其中二氧化硅是通过下述方法制备的:使碱金属硅酸盐溶液与酸接触以制备二氧化硅,然后将其粉碎成所需粒度,其特征在于经粉碎到所需粒度之前或之后将聚醚二醇与二氧化硅相结合。
然后可将由此得到的二氧化硅颗粒加入到各种类型的牙用组合物中,例如不透明、半透明或透明牙用组合物中,以控制其粘性。
参数的测定和定义
吸油量
采用ASTM刮片擦去法(美国材料试验学会标准D,281)。该测试基于以下原则:用刮片在光滑表面上刮擦将亚麻籽油与二氧化硅混合,直至形成粘稠的油灰状膏体,采用刮片切割时不会裂开或分开。然后由达到该状态所需的油的体积V(cm3)和颗粒材料的重量W(克)根据以下方程计算吸油量:
吸油量=(V×100)/W
即由cm3油/100g颗粒材料来表示。
重均粒度
采用Malvern Mastersizer X型和45mm透镜及MS 15试样显示单元测定二氧化硅的重均粒度。该装置由Malvern Instruments(Malvern,Worcestershire)制造,采用了夫琅和费衍射原理,使用低功率氦/氖激光器。测定前试样在水中采用超声分散7分钟形成水悬浮液。由Malvern Matersizer测定二氧化硅的重均粒度分布。由该装置产生的数据易于得到重均粒度(d50)或50分布百分数。
电解质含量
通过热水提取二氧化硅然后以硫酸钡沉淀出,对硫酸盐进行定量测定。通过热水提取二氧化硅然后采用标准硝酸银溶液滴定(采用铬酸钾作为指示剂)测定氯化物(Mohr法)。
105℃下的水分损失
由电烘箱在105℃下将二氧化硅干燥至恒重时的重量损失测定水分损失。
1000℃下的烧失量
由加热炉在1000℃下燃烧二氧化硅至恒重时的重量损失测定烧失量。
pH
采用二氧化硅在沸腾软化水(不含二氧化碳)中的5%(重量)悬浮液进行测定。
汞注入孔隙体积
采用Micromeritics Autopore 9220汞孔度计根据标准汞注入法步骤测定汞注入孔隙体积。测定前将试样在室温下脱气至50微米汞柱。压入孔隙的汞作为压力的函数,在各压力设定值计算每克试样所注入的汞的体积。记录的汞注入体积是在真空至60000psi.间各压力点发生的,并代表注入的汞的累计体积。
牙膏的折光率(RI)
采用购自Bellingham&Stanley有限公司(Tunbridge Wells,Kent,England)的阿贝60折光仪进行测量。根据操作说明在25℃下进行测定。将1-2g被测牙膏试样置于折光仪的下棱镜面上,降低上棱镜面,直至两棱镜面间仅存牙膏薄层。进行调节以确保视野的亮区和暗区的对比最鲜明。调节亮区和暗区的分界面直至与十字线交叉。牙膏的折光率计至小数点后四位。
牙膏粘性
牙膏粘性是衡量牙膏从牙膏管挤到牙刷上后膏条“持型”特性的良好尺度。高粘性值代表较硬的膏条,而低粘度、结构性差的牙膏会得到较低的粘性值,这种膏条会迅速流挂到牙刷刷毛内。要提供良好的品质的挤出膏条、且其不会流挂或过硬,牙用组合物的粘性一般需要为150-430克。
测定的基本原理是测量将两平行盘(其中夹杂着特定牙膏涂层)拉开所需的重量(克)。目标装置的组成如下:
(1)弹簧可在受0-430g力时延长100mm的弹簧秤。弹簧的测度标是在0-430g以每10g为一个刻度,并且可在试验开始时调至零。
(2)马达驱动的棘轮,其与底盘相连,可以5cm/分钟持续、均匀、平稳地垂直拉动底盘。
(3)直径为64mm的抛光圆形铬顶盘,其在顶面上带有可与弹簧秤相连的钩子。该抛光盘的底面上带有与盘体成整体的三小片相同的抛光铬定距片。它们凸起高度为4mm,当装配装置进行试验时用于确定牙膏膜的厚度。
(4)直径为76mm的抛光的圆形铬底盘,其底端与马达驱动的棘轮相连。在该盘的顶部上设有两短拴,以使顶盘可同心安放于底盘上。
(5)可使顶盘同心安放在底盘上的金属框架,并且调节底盘使该盘大致水平(通过采用装置底部的水平尺实现)。
将15-20g牙膏均匀分配在顶盘底面上,小心将该盘安放在底盘的顶部,采用两短拴将顶盘边缘定位。将顶盘牢固地压在底盘上,直至三个定距片均与底盘接触。然后用刮片将从两盘间挤出的过量牙膏除去,从而使牙膏不会延伸到顶盘直径之外。然后将顶盘与弹簧秤相连,将弹簧秤刻度调至0克。然后开动装置令马达驱动棘轮拉低顶盘。弹簧逐渐拉伸,当夹有牙膏的两平行盘最终被拉开时记录最大视重。即为牙膏粘性(以克计)。
透明度
该试验的原理是测定透过特定厚度的牙膏读取测试卡上的不同大小的字母和数字。
采用Graphic Arts研究中心(Rochester Institute ofTechnology,1,Lomb Memorial Drive,Rochester,New York 14623)生产的RIT字母数字分辨测试对象(RIT ALPHANUMERIC RESOLUTIONTEST OBJECT)RT-4-74进行试验。其中包括刻度为-12到+13的26排从很大(10指10mm)到很小(0.4指0.4mm)的不同数字和字母。正数指透明牙膏,正数越高,说明具有越好的透明度,+13指最佳透明度。
在路径长度1cm的比色杯中充入被测牙膏。将比色杯置于刻度表上,并通过记录经比色杯在刻度表上所能读取的最小的一排数字和字母来测定透明度。
发明的具体描述
现通过以下实施例进一步描述本发明。第一个实施例说明的是经聚醚二醇处理的二氧化硅的制备方法;但本发明并非仅限于该特定制备方法。
实施例1
采用加热的搅拌反应器用于硅酸盐/酸反应。混合是硅酸盐和硫酸反应中的重要特性。所以采用列于Chemineer Inc.Chem Eng.(1976年4月26日)102-110页的确定说明来设计折流加热搅拌反应器。当从混合几何学中可任选涡轮设计时,实验可选用6片30°斜叶桨装置,以确保用最小剪切达到最大混合功效。
用于该方法的溶液如下:
(a)SiO2∶Na2O的重量比为3.29且SiO2含量为16.6%(重量)的硅酸钠溶液
(b)比重为1.12(17.4%重量的溶液)的硫酸溶液。
以下方法适用于制备沉淀二氧化硅,以及随后经聚醚二醇处理。
将142.5升水置于含1.15升硅酸钠溶液的300升容量的容器中。搅拌该混合物并加热至94℃。然后在94℃下经20分钟同时加入114升硅酸钠和42升硫酸。加入硅酸盐和酸溶液期间流速应均匀以确保容器内的pH在10-11之间保持恒定。经10分钟加入硫酸调节该浆液的pH,使得该间歇最终时的pH为4.5。
此时分离最终所得浆料。用水过滤和洗涤一半量的最终浆料以去除过量电解质。一般地,用于牙膏时,其中剩余电解质应低于2%(重量)(以干重计)。所得的二氧化硅在下文中被称为标准二氧化硅。最终浆料的另一半中加入393g分子量为6000的聚乙二醇(PEG 6000),在60℃、pH4.5条件下进行混合30分钟。然后按上述相同的方法过滤并洗涤经处理的浆料。将第二部分所得的二氧化硅称为本发明的二氧化硅。洗涤后,各滤饼经快干从二氧化硅中迅速去除水以保持二氧化硅的结构,并粉碎。将本发明的二氧化硅粉碎成两种不同粒度,即本发明(I)和(II)的二氧化硅。
所制备的沉淀二氧化硅的一般物理特性列于表1中。
将聚醚二醇用于二氧化硅颗粒的另一途径是将本文定义的二氧化硅颗粒在水中再成浆,加入聚醚直至其在溶液中充分分散。然后过滤处理过的颗粒,干燥并(任选地)粉碎成所需的粒度。
另一处理方法是例如在流化床中将聚醚二醇溶液喷洒至二氧化硅颗粒之上形成涂层,然后干燥并(任选地)经粉碎步骤。所有这些方法均能将聚醚二醇有效地涂敷在颗粒材料上,但出于成本和加工方面的考虑,优选在二氧化硅制备过程中进行涂敷。

牙膏实施例2、3、4、5、6和7(表3)
表2给出了许多加入了上述实施例1描述的方法制备的高结构化二氧化硅的牙膏制剂,二氧化硅可以是标准二氧化硅(不含PEG 6000)或本发明的二氧化硅(I)或(II),即施用了PEG 6000的二氧化硅。
在不透明牙用制剂A(实施例2、3和4,见表3)中加入相同百分比重量的上述无定形二氧化硅。三种牙膏均具有适于商用的稳定性和用法,但在牙膏制剂中加入本发明的二氧化硅(I)和(II)后经粘性测定表现出与粒度无关的改进的结构。
用山梨醇替代牙膏制剂A中的游离聚乙二醇1500(即制剂B),采用实施例1的标准二氧化硅(实施例5)制得较低结构性牙膏,粘性相应下降。但是,在相同制剂中采用了本发明(I)的二氧化硅的实施例6显示该牙膏具有与实施例2相同的结构特性。
实施例7说明牙膏制剂A仅含少量PEG 1500时的效果,该用量与本发明的二氧化硅所用的处理用聚乙二醇的量相同。实施例7与实施例5的对照表明尽管加入少量PEG 1500可改进牙膏的结构特性,但对结构的改进作用不如经聚乙二醇预处理的标准二氧化硅(实施例6)那么大。

在高含水凝胶牙膏(制剂D)中加入第二种保湿剂(PEG 1500)不能制成视觉上透明的牙膏(实施例8和11)。即使少量加入(0.12%PEG1500-制剂F)也会对最终的牙膏透明度产生不利影响(实施例10)。除去第二种保温剂(PEG 1500-制剂E)可得到视觉上透明的牙膏,但采用了标准二氧化硅的最终牙膏的结构性会显著降低。实施例12中用本发明的二氧化硅(I)替代标准二氧化硅表明在不影响最终牙膏透明度的同时,仍能保持牙膏的结构性。
Claims (6)
1.一种生产用于牙用组合物的颗粒二氧化硅材料的方法,其中二氧化硅是通过下述方法制备的:使碱金属硅酸盐溶液与酸接触以制备二氧化硅,然后将其粉碎成至多30微米的重均粒度,其特征在于所述二氧化硅是增稠二氧化硅,和在粉碎到所需粒度之前或之后将选自聚乙二醇和聚丙二醇且平均分子量为200-20000的聚醚二醇的水溶液与如此形成二氧化硅相混合,且该二氧化硅随后经干燥再加入到所述牙用组合物中。
2.权利要求1的方法,其中二氧化硅是沉淀二氧化硅。
3.权利要求1或2的方法,其中聚醚二醇是平均分子量为5000-10000的聚乙二醇。
4.权利要求1或2的方法,其中二氧化硅的吸油量高于125cm3/100g、汞注入孔隙体积高于2.0cm3/g、以及在105℃下的水分损失低于25重量%。
5.一种牙用组合物,其中含有水、保湿剂体系以及分散的颗粒材料,其特征在于该颗粒材料含有在该颗粒加入到牙用组合物前混和合了聚醚二醇的二氧化硅颗粒,且其中组合物中基本上全部的聚醚二醇载带于二氧化硅颗粒上。
6.权利要求5的牙用组合物,其中颗粒材料是增稠剂。
