当松开或者张紧带头部的紧固件时,希望在不损坏或破坏头部的情况下拆除或张紧该紧固件。通常,紧固件头部是六面的,在本领域中以六边形头部所公知。当紧固一个六边形头部时,在相邻平面侧的顶点附近而非该顶点处施加一个力是非常重要的。这可以防止顶点被弄圆,从而能够用一个螺母调整器或类似工具轻易地旋转该六边形头部。
现有技术中存在着各种用于紧固六边形头部的工具。下面的美国专利显示了各种用于完成六边形头部的紧固或松开而进行的各种设计。这些美国专利限定了圆周定位并在六边形头部施加力的不同表面。这些工具显示在美国专利第4,581,957;5,481,948;4,882,957;5,012,706;5,284,073;5,131,312;4,512,220;5,092,203;4,930,378;4,598,616;4,765,211;5,219,392;和5,388,486中。尽管这些工具看起来似乎可以满足于其预定目标地工作,但发明者仍力争改进该现有技术。

参看附图,特别是参看图1,显示了一个螺母驱动套筒并用参考数字10标注。套筒10包括限定一中心孔14的一个壁12。该中心孔14具有一多边形形状,最好是一个六边形,以容纳紧固件的六边形头部16。
中心孔14由一组平面18和连接部分20所限定。各平面18彼此相互定位,使得彼此平行的这些平面间具有一个距离H。距离H限定了给特定套筒适用的头部尺寸。

工具接触六边形头部的点是沿着凸面的。该接触点位于相对于工具中心有一角度(α)的位置处。作一条从平面18的中点到中心的线L1,再作一条从中心到接触点的线L2,线L1和L2间的该角度在十九到二十三度(19°-23°)之间。接触点的该位置提供了在施加力方面的增加的机械优势。而且,在旋转的两个方向都可在六边形头部施加相等的力。

Claims (8)

1.一个用于驱动带头部的紧固件的工具,包括:
一个位于所述工具内的开口;
所述开口由所述工具的一个壁限定,所述壁具有一组平面,一个连接面在这些平面的端部将它们连接起来,从而形成所述开口,每个连接面具有一个与所述平面平滑连接的凸面,以及一个与所述凸面平滑连接的凹面,所述凹面和凸面限定了具有相等半径的圆弧。
2.根据权利要求1所述的工具,其特征在于,所述凹面相对于工具的中心轴线是对称的。
3.根据权利要求1所述的工具,其特征在于,所述凸面与所述平面相切。

5.根据权利要求1所述的工具,其特征在于,所述凸面与紧固件的头部接触以驱动所述紧固件,使得接触点位于大约十九到二十三度(19°-23°)位置,其中该角度是从一个平面的中点到工具中心的连线与从工具中心到紧固件头部接触点的连线间的角度。
