Description

Artificial eyelash row and its making method
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a cosmetic for the eye, in particular to an artificial eyelash, in particular a row of artificial eyelashes, to be fixed to the edge of an eyelid and a method for making the same.
Background
It is known practice to make rows of artificial eyelashes by manually bonding the fibers used to form the false eyelashes to a base for adhering to the eyelid. However, such manual manufacturing methods are complex and costly. Furthermore, the production time may be quite long, and thus the productivity may be limited.
Furthermore, there is a risk of false eyelashes coming off the base because they are held on the base by the adhesion of glue to the base, which is carried out on a very small non-flat surface, taking into account the fineness of the fibers used to form the false eyelashes.
Also known is patent KR 10-1045497, which relates to an artificial eyelash made by inserting in a zigzag shape two threads for forming false eyelashes, both fixed by means of chain stitches to two base strings, also constrained by chain stitches, each covered with an insertion thread.
In this configuration, since the false eyelashes are formed of two threads inserted in a zigzag shape and woven by a chain stitch, the manufacturing method is complicated.
There is a need to obtain eyelash arrangements and varying curvatures that cannot be obtained manually in a simple manner, more than manually.
There is also a need to benefit from manufacturing methods that can reduce production time and improve production regularity. In addition, it may also be useful to reduce delivery time and procurement costs.
Finally, it is necessary to improve the quality level of the multiple rows of false eyelashes obtained by repetition by automation, but with simple means, minimizing the number of parts of the production machine.
Disclosure of Invention
Braided false eyelash
The present invention is directed to addressing all or part of these needs and, in accordance with one aspect of the invention, this object is achieved by securing to the eyelid margin a row of artificial eyelashes having (i) a base for securing to the eyelid margin and (ii) false eyelashes,
the base has a first warp thread woven with a chain stitch through which the eyelash extensions are threaded instead of being tied.
By a "line of artificial eyelashes" is understood a line of eyelashes formed by synthetic eyelashes that are not entirely natural, in other words false eyelashes.
False eyelashes do not form chain stitches. The false eyelashes do not form a suture with the first warp thread.
The row of false eyelashes which are simple and quick to produce and low in cost are obtained. In addition, the false eyelashes may be disposed on the base in various ways.
Furthermore, the row according to the invention has a good durability, especially when it is handled and worn.
It is sturdy and durable, can be easily handled without the risk of false eyelashes falling off the base.
In one embodiment, all of the false eyelashes of the row are formed by a single weft thread. Therefore, only one weft is used to form all the false eyelashes. In a variant, the row may have a plurality of weft threads, for example two or more. It is thus possible to obtain a row of eyelashes with a more natural appearance, some of which cross others.
The base may have a first warp thread woven with a chain stitch through which the weft thread is threaded rather than tied. The weft yarns do not form chain stitches. The weft does not form a stitch with the first warp. The weft thread passes back and forth between the two bases which run in particular parallel to one another and symmetrically. In a variant, the two bases may not be parallel to each other, but form an angle with each other. The angle may for example have a non-zero value between 0.5 ° and 70 °.
According to this aspect of the invention, there are no two separate wefts that form all false eyelashes.
The first warp thread may form a closed chain stitch. In a variation or additionally, the first warp thread forms an open chain stitch.
The base may have a second warp thread woven with chain stitches through which the eyelash extensions are threaded instead of being tied.
The first warp threads and the second warp threads may be interwoven. The false eyelashes pass through the chain stitch but are not tied in the first and/or second warp thread. The weft threads pass through the chain stitch but are not tied in the first and/or second warp threads. The weft does not form a stitch with the first warp.
The second warp threads may form a closed chain stitch. In one embodiment, the first warp thread and the second warp thread each form a closed chain stitch. In a variant, the first warp thread forms an open chain stitch and the second warp thread forms a closed chain stitch.
In a variant or in addition, the second warp threads may form open chain stitches. In one embodiment, the first warp thread and the second warp thread each form an open chain stitch. In a variant, the first warp thread forms a closed chain stitch and the second warp thread forms an open chain stitch.
By "chain stitch" is understood a stitch forming a plurality of loops arranged one after the other in the manner of a chain of links, the thread forming one loop passing through the top of the previous loop, thus forming a row of stitches.
An "open chain stitch" is understood to mean a ring whose ends overlie the top of the previous ring at a non-zero spacing, which is approximately the width of the ring.
"closed chain stitch" is understood to mean a loop in which the ends of the loop overlie the top of the previous loop at an almost zero spacing, with the ends being substantially adjacent or even touching.
The creation of open and closed sutures results in sutures made in the opposite direction. An undetachable effect is obtained when both are made around a needle with two threads.
The false eyelashes can be regularly distributed on the base, in particular arranged at regular intervals, which are for example always the same.
In a variant, the pitch may be irregular. It may decrease and then increase along the base. The pitch between two successive false eyelashes of the row of eyelashes is, for example, between 0.07mm and 2mm, better still between 0.5mm and 1.5mm, or between 0.9mm and 1.25mm, better still between 0.99mm and 1.11mm, for example about 1 mm.
In one embodiment, the eyelashes may be provided in multiple sets of eyelashes, with a smaller first spacing between the eyelashes of the same set and a larger second spacing between two successive sets. A group of eyelashes may have 2 to 12 eyelashes, more preferably 3 to 10 eyelashes, for example about 6 or 8 eyelashes. The set of false eyelashes of a row of eyelashes may have the same number of false eyelashes, or in variations, the number may vary from one set to another along a row of eyelashes. In one embodiment, the row of eyelashes has two successive sets of false eyelashes, or in a variant, for example, alternating sets of two false eyelashes and eight false eyelashes.
The first and second warp threads may be made of a first synthetic material, for example selected from the following non-limiting list: the polyolefin, PE, PP, PU, PA, PET, PBT, PEs, PTFE, or the first and second warp threads may be made of a thread consisting of a core material of polyolefin, PE, PP, PU, PA, PBT, PEs, PTFE and coated with a heat-activatable adhesive or heat-activatable resin, TPU silicone, CoPA, CoPES, TPU, TPE, EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), polyolefin, polyethylene, polypropylene, PA, PEs, PVC.
The color chosen for the first synthetic material may be similar or analogous to the color of the skin of the user, or in a variant the synthetic material may be transparent. The first and second warp threads may have one or more colors. As described below, the first warp threads and the second warp threads may each have one or more strands.
The false eyelashes, in particular the weft, may be made of a second synthetic material, for example selected from the following non-limiting list: polyolefin, PE, PP, PU, PA, PET, PBT, PEs, PTFE, or any other thermoplastic fiber, or even natural fibers. It may also be a thread consisting of a core of polyolefin, PE, PP, PU, PA, PBT, PEs, PTFE and coated with a heat-activatable adhesive or resin, TPU silicone, CoPA, CoPES, TPU, TPE, EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), polyolefin, polyethylene, polypropylene, PA, PEs, PVC.
The color selected for the second synthetic material may be similar or analogous to the color of the user's eyelashes, or in contrast to a color that contrasts sharply with the color of the user's eyelashes, such as red, black, green, blue, and this list is not limiting.
The diameter and color of the weft threads may be different. The false eyelashes, in particular the weft, may have one or more colors. They may have, for example, 1 to 5 different diameters.
The first and second warp threads and/or the false eyelashes, in particular the weft threads, can be washed in a washing tank according to the Oekotex and REACH standard to ensure adequate hygienic conditions.
The base may have an additional thread interwoven with the first warp thread of the chain stitch weave, in particular with the first warp thread of the chain stitch weave and the second warp thread of the chain stitch weave.
The additional thread is capable of blocking knots and sutures. It is also possible to further limit the risk of the first and/or second warp and weft yarns unraveling. It also provides a stiffening effect to the base to which it belongs, facilitating a good retention of the row of artificial eyelashes.
Additional threads may be added within the base of the first and second warp threads comprising the chain stitch weave. In a variant, the additional thread may be added within the base of the first warp thread comprising a single chain stitch weave.
The additional thread may be threaded in the base in a zigzag manner.
Assembly for forming multiple rows of artificial eyelashes
Independently of or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject of the invention is an assembly for forming rows of artificial eyelashes (in particular as defined above) to be fixed to the eyelid margin, the assembly having at least two bases for fixing to the eyelid margin, the bases being arranged parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane, and false eyelashes formed by a weft thread, in particular a single weft thread, passing back and forth between the two bases.
The weft threads are arranged substantially perpendicular to the base, with a slight draft. The weft is intended to cut between the two bases to separate them, so as to form at least one row of false eyelashes, in particular two rows of false eyelashes. The separation may in particular take place in the median plane or, in a variant, in a plane parallel to a base, close to the same, for example flush with said base.
Each base may have a first warp thread woven with a chain stitch through which the weft thread passes rather than being tied. The weft yarns do not form chain stitches. The weft does not form a stitch with the first warp.
Each base may have a second warp thread woven with a chain stitch through which the weft thread is threaded rather than being tied.
Each base may have an additional thread interwoven with the first warp thread woven with the chain stitch, in particular the first warp thread woven with the chain stitch and the second warp thread woven with the chain stitch, as described above.
In one embodiment, the assembly has two bases disposed parallel and symmetrical to each other with respect to the median plane.
In an embodiment variant, the assembly may have three bases arranged parallel and symmetrical to each other with respect to the median plane. The median plane may, for example, pass through the central base, the other two bases being arranged on either side of the central base, parallel and symmetrical to each other with respect to the median plane. In this case, there are two wefts, a single weft passing back and forth between the two bases.
In another variant, the assembly may have more bases, for example four or five.
Braiding machine
Independently of or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject of the present invention is a machine for knitting an assembly for forming rows of artificial eyelashes (in particular as defined above) to be fixed to the eyelid margin, with a compound needle.
A "compound needle" is a needle formed of two parts, namely a body and a sliding element. The body may be composed of a butt, a rod and a hook. The sliding element may consist of a butt and a rod. The sliding element can slide within the stem of the body to close and open the hook of the needle. The body of the needle and the sliding element can thus be moved independently and in a synchronized manner.
The composite needle can produce a tighter suture than the latch needle. This tightness ensures that the eyelash extensions are well secured to the base.
The knitting machine may in particular be free of latch needles. The latch needle is a needle consisting of a butt, a rod and a hook and a tongue piece hinged on the rod. The tongue performs an oscillating movement along the axis of the rod and opens and closes the hook of the needle. The latch needle needs to be used in conjunction with a broach for forming the suture.
In the present invention, the braiding machine may in particular not have a drill. The braiding machine according to the invention therefore has no broaches for forming the stitches.
Manufacturing method
Independently of or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject of the invention is a method for making an array of artificial eyelashes, having at least the following steps: (a) weaving an assembly for forming rows of artificial eyelashes to be fixed to the eyelid margin, in particular as defined above, having at least two bases for fixing to the eyelid margin, said bases being arranged parallel and symmetrically to one another with respect to the median plane, and false eyelashes formed by a weft thread, in particular a single weft thread, passing back and forth between the two bases.
The weaving may be performed by: such that each base has a first warp thread woven with a chain stitch through which the weft thread is threaded rather than tied. The weft yarns do not form chain stitches. The weft does not form a stitch with the first warp.
The weaving may be performed by: such that each base has a second warp thread woven with a chain stitch through which the weft thread is threaded rather than tied.
In an embodiment, each base may have a first warp thread woven with a chain stitch forming a stitch (the eyelash is threaded through the chain stitch instead of being tied thereto) and a second warp thread woven with a chain stitch forming a stitch (the eyelash is threaded through the chain stitch instead of being tied thereto).
The first warp threads and the second warp threads may be interwoven.
The knitting step may be carried out by compound needles. The knitting step may in particular be carried out without latch needles. The braiding step may in particular be carried out without a drill.
In one embodiment, the assembly has two bases disposed parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane.
In an embodiment variant, the assembly may have three bases arranged parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane. The median plane may, for example, pass through the central base, the other two bases being arranged on either side of the central base, parallel and symmetrical to each other with respect to the median plane. In this case, there are two weft threads, one weft thread passing back and forth between the two bases.
In another variant, the assembly may have more bases, for example four or five.
The method may also have at least the following steps: (e) the heat fusible warp or plurality of warp strands are activated to secure the base stitches. Activation may comprise heating, in particular, for example by baking or heating rollers or steam. The activation step (e) may preferably be carried out after the weaving step (a) and before one or more of the steps (b), (c) and/or (d) described below. In a variation, the activating step (e) may be performed after one or more of steps (b), (c), and/or (d) described below.
Next, the assembly is cleaned.
The method may have the following additional steps: (b) the row of artificial eyelashes and/or the base and/or the false eyelashes are bent by applying a mechanical load in the presence of an energetic stimulus that causes the false eyelash material to heat up, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating.
The bending step (b) may preferably be performed after the weaving step (a). This bending step (b) may occur simultaneously with or before one or more of steps (c), (d) and/or (e) described above or below, or in a variant after. In particular, steps (b) and (c) may be carried out simultaneously, or in a variant, sequentially, preferably step (b) occurs before step (c), or in a variant, step (c) may occur after step (b). Step (b) may be performed after step (d), or in a variation, step (d) may be performed after step (b). The separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) and the bending step (b) may be carried out simultaneously or sequentially.
The heating may involve applying steam.
The method may also have the additional steps of: (c) in particular in the median plane, the two bases are separated by cutting the weft, so as to form in this way at least one row of artificial eyelashes, in particular two rows of artificial eyelashes, in particular by mechanical cutting, by application of ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. The median plane may be the plane of symmetry between the two bases.
In one embodiment, two bases disposed parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane are separated in the median plane.
In an embodiment variant, the three bases are separated in a separation plane parallel to and close to one of the bases, for example flush with said base. This may be, for example, a central base and side bases.
Finally, the method may have a step of washing the base in a washing tank according to Oekotex and REACH standards, before or after separation, to ensure adequate hygienic conditions.
The bending step (b) and the separating step (c) may be performed sequentially or simultaneously.
The method may also have the additional steps of: (d) the rows of artificial eyelashes are cut to the desired length, in particular by mechanical cutting, by application of ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. In this step (d), a plurality of rows of eyelashes are cut perpendicular to the median plane. For right or left eyes, etc., there may be different shapes, regular or irregular.
The bending step (b), the separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) may be performed sequentially or simultaneously.
The manufacture of multiple rows of artificial eyelashes is simple, inexpensive and rapid, and can be easily automated.
The method may also have the additional step of post-treating the eyelash so that disorder of the free ends of the eyelash can be achieved. In this post-treatment step, a row of false eyelashes may be passed through one or more cylinders, so that friction may be applied to the false eyelashes. The cylinder may also be heated to promote disorder. In this way, a crossing of false eyelashes that is not manually obtainable can be achieved.
Curved false eyelash
Independently of or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject of the invention is a method for making an array of artificial eyelashes, having at least two of the following steps:
(a) an assembly woven for forming rows of artificial eyelashes to be fixed to the eyelid margin, having at least two bases for fixing to the eyelid margin, said bases being arranged parallel and symmetrically to one another with respect to the median plane, each base having a first warp forming a stitch, in particular a warp woven with chain stitches, and a false eyelash
(b) The array of artificial eyelashes and/or the base and/or the false eyelashes are curved by applying a mechanical load in the presence of an energetic stimulus that causes the false eyelash material to heat up, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. The heating may involve applying steam.
The false eyelashes may be formed by a single weft thread passing back and forth between the two bases.
The false eyelashes may be held in the base suture rather than tied thereto. The weft does not form a stitch with the first warp.
The first warp threads and the second warp threads may be made of a thermoformable material. The false eyelashes, in particular the weft, may be made of a thermoformable material.
In a variant or additionally, the first warp threads and/or the second warp threads can be made of a heat-shrinkable material. The heat-shrinkage property of the first warp threads and/or the second warp threads may allow a fan-like effect of the eyelash. The first warp threads and/or the second warp threads may have heat shrinkage characteristics of different shrinkage rates.
The method may have at least the following steps: (e) the heat fusible warp or plurality of warp strands are activated to secure the base stitches.
The bending step (b) may preferably be performed after the weaving step (a). This bending step (b) may occur simultaneously with or before one or more of steps (c), (d) and/or (e) described above or below, or in a variant after. In particular, steps (b) and (c) may be carried out simultaneously, or in a variant successively, preferably step (b) occurs before step (c), or in a variant step (c) may occur after step (b). Step (b) may be performed after step (d), or in a variation, step (d) may be performed after step (b). The separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) and the bending step (b) may be carried out simultaneously or sequentially.
The bending step (b), the separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) may be performed simultaneously or sequentially.
In step (b), the energy stimulation may comprise applying ultrasound.
In step (b), the energy stimulation may comprise applying high frequency.
In step (b), the energy stimulation may comprise applying heat.
The method may also have the additional steps of: (c) in particular in the median plane, the two bases are separated by cutting the weft, so as to form in this way at least one row of artificial eyelashes, in particular two rows symmetrical with respect to the median plane, in particular by mechanical cutting, by application of ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. The median plane may be the plane of symmetry between the two bases. The separation may in particular take place in the median plane or, in a variant, in a plane parallel to a base, close to the same, for example flush with said base.
The method may also have the additional steps of: (d) the rows of artificial eyelashes are cut to the desired length, in particular by mechanical cutting, by application of ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. In this step (d), a plurality of rows of eyelashes are cut perpendicular to the median plane.
The separation step (c) and the cleavage step (d) may be carried out simultaneously or sequentially.
The bending step (b), the separating step (c) and/or the cutting step (d) may be performed using a cutting tool.
The bending step (b), the separating step (c) and/or the cutting step (d) may be performed using an anvil.
The bending step (b), the separating step (c) and/or the cutting step (d) may be performed using the same cutting tool and/or the same anvil.
Independently of or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject of the present invention is a cutting implement for implementing a method for making a row of artificial eyelashes, in particular as described above, configured to allow the application of mechanical cutting, ultrasound or high frequency or heat to an assembly for forming rows of artificial eyelashes to be fixed to the eyelid margin, the assembly having at least two bases for fixing to the marginal eyelid, the bases being arranged parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane. The cut may or may not occur on the median plane. The separation may in particular take place in the median plane or, in a variant, in a plane parallel to a base, close to the same, for example flush with said base.
False eyelash with blocking suture
Independently of the above subject matter or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject matter of the present invention is a row of artificial eyelashes intended to be fixed to the eyelid margin, having (i) a base for fixing to the eyelid margin, and (ii) false eyelashes,
the base has a first warp thread, in particular a chain stitch woven warp thread, forming a stitch, the false eyelashes passing through the stitch of the base, in particular the chain stitch of the first warp thread, and being held in the stitch of the base instead of being tied thereto.
In this way, a blocking of the stitches and the false eyelashes in the stitches is obtained, so that the row of artificial eyelashes may be prevented from untwisting when being handled and/or used. In this way, a higher safety is achieved for the user and the life of the row of false eyelashes is increased.
Independently of the above subject matter or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject matter of the present invention is a row of artificial eyelashes to be fixed to the eyelid margin, having (i) a base for fixing to the eyelid margin, and (ii) false eyelashes,
the base portion has a first warp thread woven with chain stitch, and the false eyelashes pass through the chain stitch of the first warp thread and are held in the chain stitch of the first warp thread instead of being tied thereto.
The first warp may have a plurality of strands. This construction with multiple strands makes it possible to increase the tightness of the stitches of the warp threads, in particular due to the greater internal friction of the threads. The number of warp threads may be between 2 and 100 per warp thread, more preferably between 20 and 70 per warp thread, for example about 34 per warp thread. The cross-section of the strands may have a maximum dimension which may be between 4 μm and 0.3mm, better still between 0.05mm and 0.15mm, for example about 0.07 mm. The cross-section of the strands may have a shape selected from the following non-limiting list: circular, non-circular, elliptical, oval, polygonal, square, rectangular, triangular, hexagonal, lobed, trilobal, multilobal. The strands may be hollow in cross-section.
In one embodiment, the base may have a second warp thread, in particular a chain stitch woven warp thread. The first warp thread alone may have a plurality of strands, or in a variation, the first warp thread and the second warp thread may each have a plurality of strands, so that the tightness of the stitches of the warp threads may be further increased and the firmness of the row of artificial eyelashes may be improved.
In an embodiment, the base may have a first warp thread woven with chain stitch forming stitches (the false eyelashes are threaded through the chain stitch instead of being tied thereto) and a second warp thread woven with chain stitch forming stitches (the false eyelashes are threaded through the chain stitch instead of being tied thereto). The first warp threads and the second warp threads may be interwoven.
Preferably, at least one warp or warp strand is heat-fusible. The heat fusible threads or strands may be activated after the weaving step to secure the sutures of the base. The term "activation" refers to an increase in temperature of the row of artificial eyelashes such that partial or complete melting of the heat-fusible strands can be achieved without damaging the other non-heat-fusible strands. The melting of the heat-fusible strands allows them to adhere to adjacent strands, thereby further enhancing the firmness of the row of artificial eyelashes.
The first and second warp threads or warp strands may be made of a first heat-fusible synthetic material, for example selected from the following non-limiting list: the polyolefin, PE, PP, PU, PA, PET, PBT, PEs, PTFE, or the first and second warp or warp strands may be made of a thread consisting of a core of polyolefin, PE, PP, PU, PA, PBT, PEs, PTFE and coated with a heat-activatable adhesive or resin, TPU silicone, CoPA, CoPES, TPU, TPE, EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate), polyolefin, polyethylene, polypropylene, PA, PEs, PVC.
The first and second warp or warp strands may be formed by drawing.
The first and second warps or warp strands may be subjected to a surface treatment to facilitate their retention.
The false eyelashes can be held in the base's stitches by plastic deformation of the false eyelashes and/or warp threads, in particular by applying a mechanical load in the presence of an energy stimulus that causes heating of the false eyelash material and/or warp threads, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. The heating may involve applying steam.
Independently of or in combination with the above subject matter, another subject of the invention is a method for making an array of artificial eyelashes, having at least the following steps: (a) assembly for forming rows of artificial eyelashes to be fixed to the eyelid margin, in particular as described above, which assembly has at least two bases for fixing to the eyelid margin, at least one base being arranged parallel and symmetrically to one another with respect to the median plane, the base having a first warp forming a stitch, in particular a warp knitted with a chain stitch, at least one warp or a plurality of warp strands being heat-fusible.
The false eyelashes may be formed by a single weft thread passing back and forth between the two bases. In one embodiment, all of the false eyelashes of the row are formed by a single weft thread. Therefore, only one weft is used to form all the false eyelashes. In a variant, the row may have a plurality of wefts, for example two. It is thus possible to obtain a row of eyelashes with a more natural appearance, some of which cross others.
The false eyelashes may be held in the base suture rather than tied thereto. The weft does not form a stitch with the first warp.
The method may also have at least the following steps: (e) the heat fusible warp or plurality of warp strands are activated to secure the stitches of the base. Activation may comprise heating, in particular, for example by baking or heating rollers or steam. The activation step (e) may preferably be performed after the weaving step (a) and before one or more of the steps (b), (c) and/or (d) described above. In a variation, the activating step (e) may be performed after one or more of steps (b), (c) and/or (d) described above.
Next, the assembly is cleaned.
The bending step (b), the separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) may be performed simultaneously or sequentially.
The method may also have at least the following steps: (f) the plastic deformation is applied to the false eyelashes and/or the warp threads, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. The heating may involve applying steam. The step (f) of applying plastic deformation may preferably be performed after the knitting step (a). This step (f) of applying plastic deformation may be carried out before one or more of the above-mentioned steps (b), (c), (d) and/or (e), or, in a variant, after. The bending step (b), the separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) may be performed simultaneously or sequentially.
The shaping step (f) may bend the base to be fixed to the edge of the eyelid so as to impart the shape of the eyelid thereon. This step (f) may be carried out, for example, simultaneously with the step (b) of curving the false eyelashes, or, for example, after all the other steps.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a row 10 of artificial eyelashes for attachment to the eyelid margin. The row 10 has (i) a base 12 for securing to the eyelid margin, and (ii) false eyelashes 14.
The base 12 has a first warp 16 woven with a chain stitch through which the eyelash extensions 14 are threaded rather than tied. False eyelashes do not form chain stitches. As shown, they are bent into a U-shape, the base of which is held in the first warp yarn 16 without knots.
As shown in fig. 2a in the conventional schematic depiction, all false eyelashes 14 of the row 10 are formed by a single weft thread T. Therefore, all the false eyelashes are formed using only one weft. In a variant, there may be a plurality of weft threads, in particular in the case of threads having different colours. The base 12 has a first warp 16 woven with a chain stitch through which the weft thread T is threaded rather than tied. The weft thread T passes back and forth between the two bases 12, the two bases 12 extending parallel and symmetrically to each other.
Fig. 2a shows an assembly 20 for forming rows of artificial eyelashes (in particular as described above) to be fixed to the eyelid margin. The assembly 20 has two bases 12, at least one for fixing to the eyelid margin, the two bases 12 being arranged parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane P.
The assembly 20 also has false eyelashes 14 formed by a single weft thread T passing back and forth between the two bases 12.
The weft threads are arranged substantially perpendicular to the base. The weft thread is intended to be cut between the two bases, in particular in the median plane P, in order to separate the bases 12, so as to form two rows of artificial eyelashes. The false eyelashes can be regularly distributed on the base, in particular arranged at regular intervals, which are for example always the same. The weft threads may not be cut between two bases in the median plane P, but close to one of the two bases. In this case, only one row of artificial eyelashes can be obtained.
In the embodiment variant shown in fig. 2b, the assembly has three bases 12, which are parallel to each other and are arranged symmetrically with respect to the median plane P. The median plane may, for example, pass through the central base, the other two bases being arranged on either side of the central base, parallel to each other and symmetrical with respect to the median plane. In this case, there are two weft threads T, a single weft thread passing back and forth between the two bases.
In this embodiment variant, the three bases are separated in a first separation plane P' parallel to one base, close to this one base, for example flush with said base, and in a second separation plane P ″ parallel to one base, close to this one base, for example flush with said base. In the example shown, the base in question is a central base.
In the assembly 20 of fig. 2a, each base 12 has a first warp yarn 16 woven with a chain stitch through which the weft yarn T is threaded rather than being tied. The weft threads do not form chain stitches. The weft does not form a stitch with the first warp.
In the example shown, the first warp threads 16 of the base 12 form a closed chain stitch. In a variation or additionally, the first warp thread forms an open chain stitch.
In the embodiment just described, the row has only one first warp yarn 16.
In a variant, as shown in the embodiment in fig. 3a to 5b, the base 12 may have a second warp thread 18 woven with chain stitches. The false eyelashes 14 pass through the chain stitch of the second warp thread 18 instead of being tied thereto. In the assembly 20 of fig. 3a to 5b, each base has a warp second thread 18 woven with chain stitches through which the weft thread is passed rather than tied. The first warp threads 16 and the second warp threads 18 may be interwoven.
The second warp threads may form closed or open chain stitches.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 3a and 3b, the first and second warp threads each form a closed chain stitch. The closed chain stitches are arranged symmetrically with respect to each other.
In the embodiment shown in fig. 3c and 3d, the first and second warp threads each form a closed chain stitch, which are all overlapping, meaning that they each follow exactly the same path. Furthermore, the first warp threads and the second warp threads each form a closed chain stitch.
In a variant, the first warp thread forms a closed chain stitch and the second warp thread forms an open chain stitch, as shown in fig. 4a and 4 b.
In a further variant, as shown in fig. 5a and 5b, the first and second warp threads each form an open chain stitch.
In the embodiment just described, the row has only one weft thread. It may have, for example, two weft threads, as shown in the examples in fig. 5c and 5 d. In this example, the second weft thread T' does not pass through all the chain stitches of the warp thread. In addition, the second weft T' partially crosses the first weft T. This makes it possible to advantageously form a row of eyelashes with a more natural appearance, some of which intersect others.
The embodiment of fig. 10 is similar to the embodiment of fig. 3b, except for the following differences. In the embodiment of fig. 10, the base 12 has an additional thread 24 interwoven with the first warp thread 16 woven with a chain stitch and the second warp thread 18 woven with a chain stitch. In particular, there are two additional wires 24, one at each base 12.
The assembly 20 may be obtained by means of a knitting machine 30, as shown in fig. 6. Knitting machine 30 has compound needles 32.
The compound needle 32 is formed by a body 33 and a sliding element 34. The body 33 is composed of a butt 33a, a rod 33b, and a hook 33 c. The sliding element 34 consists of a butt 34a and a rod 34 b. The sliding element can slide inside the stem of the body to close and open the hook 33c of the needle. The body of the needle and the sliding element thus move independently and in a synchronized manner.
In particular, knitting machine 30 does not have latch needles with tongues hinged on the bars, nor does it have a drill.
The knitting machine 30 has a thread guide 35 on which the weft thread T to be formed into eyelash is placed. The thread guide moves from right to left and from left to right over the compound needle 32.
Braiding machine 30 also has a first guide 36 for feeding first warp yarn 16. The first guide bar 36 moves from right to left, left to right, top to bottom, bottom to top to rotate the compound needle. The side-to-side motion may vary depending on whether the warp yarn 16 is intended to be woven with an open or closed chain stitch.
Finally, the knitting machine 30 has a second guide bar 38 for feeding the second warp thread 18. The second guide bar 38 is moved from right to left and from left to right and makes it possible to place a second warp thread in the hook 33c of the compound needle. This second warp thread 18 makes it possible to better secure the first warp thread 16, thus making it difficult to unravel the chain stitch of the base. The braid obtained is therefore not untwistable.
A method for manufacturing a row of artificial eyelashes will now be described.
In a first step (a), by means of a compound needle-weaving assembly 20, the assembly 20 has two bases 12, at least one for fixing to the edge of the eyelid, which are arranged parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane P, and false eyelashes 14 formed by a single weft thread T passing back and forth between the two bases.
The weaving occurs such that each base has a first warp yarn 16 woven with a chain stitch and a second warp yarn 18 woven with a chain stitch, the weft yarn is threaded with a chain stitch instead of being tied thereto, and the weft yarn does not form a chain stitch.
The method may have step (b): the row of artificial eyelashes and/or the base and/or the false eyelashes are curved by applying a mechanical load in the presence of an energetic stimulus that causes the artificial eyelash material to heat up, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating.
The process then has step (c): the two bases 12 are separated by cutting the weft thread T, in particular in the median plane P, so as to form in this way at least one row of artificial eyelashes, in particular two rows of artificial eyelashes. Step (c) may be performed by mechanical cutting, by applying ultrasonic waves or high frequency, or by heating. The median plane P may be a plane of symmetry between the two bases 12.
The method may finally have the step (d) of cutting the rows of artificial eyelashes to a desired length. In this step (d), the rows of eyelashes are cut perpendicular to the median plane P. The cutting may be achieved by mechanical cutting, by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating.
The bending step (b) may preferably be performed after the weaving step (a). This bending step (b) may be performed before, simultaneously with or after one or more of the steps (c), (d) and/or (e) mentioned above or below, or in a variant. Steps (b) and (c) may be carried out simultaneously or in a variant successively, preferably step (b) is carried out before step (c), or in a variant step (c) may be carried out after step (b). Step (b) may be performed after step (d), or in a variation, step (d) may be performed after step (b). The separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) and the bending step (b) may be carried out simultaneously or sequentially.
Fig. 7a shows a bending tool 39 and an anvil 50 for performing the bending step (b). The curving tool is configured to allow the application of a mechanical load in the presence of an energetic stimulus that causes the eyelash material to heat up, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency to the assembly 20 or by heating the assembly 20, as shown in fig. 7 b. Heating may involve the application of steam.
The bending tool 35 and the anvil 50 may have complementary shapes, as schematically shown in fig. 8.
Fig. 7c shows the cutting tool 40 and anvil 45 used to perform the bending step (b) and/or the separation step (c). The bending step (b) and the separating step (c) may be performed using the same cutting tool and/or the same anvil. The cutting tool is configured to allow mechanical cutting, ultrasound or high frequency or heat to be applied to the assembly 20.
The cutting tool and anvil may have complementary shapes as schematically shown in fig. 9.
Further, the cutting tool and the anvil may have a separating edge 42 (as shown in fig. 9) to perform the step (c) of separating the base by cutting the weft thread T.
In the embodiment variant shown in fig. 7c, the anvil 45 is U-shaped. It may be used to perform the separation step (c) and/or the cutting step (d). The separating step (c) and the cutting step (d) may be performed using the same cutting tool and/or the same anvil. The cutting tool 10 is configured to allow application of mechanical cutting, ultrasound or high frequency or heat.
In one embodiment variant, the weft thread is held in the stitches of the base instead of being tied thereto, so that the stitches and the false eyelashes in the stitches can be blocked.
For this purpose, the first warp thread may have a plurality of strands and/or the second warp thread may have a plurality of strands, and/or the first warp thread and the second warp thread may each have a plurality of strands.
In one embodiment, the at least one warp thread or at least one warp strand may be heat-fusible. The heat fusible threads or strands may be activated after the weaving step to secure the sutures of the base.
In these embodiments, the method has the step (e) of activating the heat fusible warp thread or plurality of warp threads to secure the sutures of the base. Activation may comprise heating, in particular, for example by baking or heating rollers or steam. The assembly is then cleaned.
The activation step (e) may preferably be performed after the weaving step (a) and before one or more of the steps (b), (c) and/or (d) described above. This activation step (e) may be performed before or (in variations) after one or more of steps (b), (c) and/or (d) described above.
Next, the assembly is cleaned.
The false eyelashes can be held in the base suture by plastic deformation of the false eyelashes and/or the warp threads, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. Heating may involve the application of steam.
In this embodiment, the method has the step (f) of applying plastic deformation to the false eyelashes and/or the warp threads. The step (f) of applying plastic deformation may be performed by applying ultrasonic waves or high frequency or by heating. The step (f) of applying plastic deformation may preferably be performed after the knitting step (a). This step (f) of applying plastic deformation may be carried out before one or more of steps (b), (c), (d) and/or (e) described above, or in a variant, after.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments just described.
In one embodiment of the invention, the process is carried out by the following successive steps:
(a) an assembly for forming rows of artificial eyelashes to be fixed to the eyelid margin is woven, having at least two bases for fixing to the eyelid margin, said bases being arranged parallel and symmetrically to each other with respect to the median plane, and false eyelashes, each base having a first warp forming a stitch, in particular a warp woven with a chain stitch.
(e) The heat fusible warp or plurality of warp strands are activated to secure the stitches of the base. Activation may comprise heating, in particular, for example by baking or heating rollers or steam. The assembly is then cleaned.
(c) The two bases are separated by cutting the weft, in particular cutting the weft on the median plane, so as to form in this way at least one row of artificial eyelashes, in particular two rows of artificial eyelashes, in particular by mechanical cutting, by application of ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. The median plane may be the plane of symmetry between the two bases.
(d) The rows of artificial eyelashes are cut to the desired length, in particular by mechanical cutting, by application of ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. In this step (d), a plurality of rows of eyelashes are cut perpendicular to the median plane.
(f) The plastic deformation is applied to the false eyelashes and/or the warp threads, in particular by applying ultrasound or high frequency or by heating. The heating may involve applying steam.
The expression "having" is to be understood as being synonymous with "comprising at least one".
