一种变频器的功能安全装置，独立于变频器设置，其可在根据电机工作参数和变频器工作参数判定出变频器满足于预设功能安全触发条件时，触发变频器的功能安全操作，以保证变频器的功能安全。可见，本申请的功能安全装置与变频器产品各自独立设置，不存在部分软硬件模块共用的关系，从而降低了变频器产品的设计难度；而且，在后续产品设计升级时，功能安全装置与变频器产品互不干扰，从而降低了设计升级难度，灵活性较高。
