Abstract

Description
本发明一般涉及电讯系统,更具体地涉及分布式电讯交换系统。
当今电讯系统的趋势为面向提高移动性,正如在接近90%销量的新蜂窝式电话为移动式单元的蜂窝式情况中所表明的。然而,移动蜂窝式电话需要较高的功率,对话持续时间有限,并且对于用户价格较高。再者,蜂窝式通信的传输路径从一个无线电端口到一个无线电端口控制器,在其中通过专用线路设备从本地中心局到中央交换设备。该中央交换设备将呼叫转接到附近的中心局,在那里将它中继回该本地中心局供传输。这种绕来绕去的转接路径操作起来是既昂贵又费时的。
电讯用户需要小型的重量轻的手持式移动电话,它们具有较长的通话时间及对于用户费用较低的低功率要求。需求与趋势引导到一种个人通信业务,服务于各种企事业及感兴趣的居民群体的无界限本地接入服务。然而,当前讨论的个人通信网是依赖于类似地用在蜂窝式通信中的传统有线交换系统的。这些传统有线交换系统采用导致上述冗长转接路径的中央交换设备。因此,希望能有一种能避免对中央交换设备的需求的通过低功率、长通话时间、手持式移动通信装置提供呼叫业务的分布式电讯交换系统。
从上文中可以理解,已兴起了对不使用中央交换设备便能处理呼叫信息的分布式电讯交换系统的需求。并且已兴起了对能向电讯用户提供改进的服务的个人通信业务网形式的通信网的特定应用的需求。再者,也已兴起对在实现其本身的系统结构的同时能够利用已有的有线设备的个人通信业务网的需求。此外,又兴起了对本地交换载波及中央交换设备依赖性最小的个人通信业务网的需求。
按照本发明,提供了一种分布式电讯交换系统,该系统基本上消除或减少了与传统的电讯系统相关联的缺点与问题。
按照本发明的一个实施例,提供了一种分布式电讯交换系统,该系统包括多个投送单元来为接收与发送去往与来自有线与无线通信装置的呼叫信息提供网络电话接口与无线电系统接口。各投送单元用通过其它投送单元或其它个人通信网的本地交换将呼叫信息提供给目的地通信装置。为了指示各投送单元向何地及如何投送呼叫信息,一个服务单元对在其控制下的所有投送单元提供中央控制、管理、操作与维护。
本发明的分布式电讯交换系统提供超过传统的电讯系统的各种技术优点。例如,技术优点之一便是使产生或终接大量业务通信的各感兴趣的群体或地理区域内提供呼叫信息交换的投送单元位于同一地点。另一个技术优点为通过提供独立的交换、独立的业务传送及智能网络业务而减少对本地交换载波的依赖性。又另一技术优点在于具有一个业务单元来提供对投送单元及它们的分布式交换的集中控制。还有另一个技术优点在于具有集中业务管理能力。从下面的附图、说明与权利要求书中,熟悉本技术的人员很容易明了其它技术优点。

图1为分布式电讯交换系统10的方框图。分布式电讯交换系统10包括一个业务单元子系统12,该子系统利用信息网络系统结构(INA)软件设计原理在高级智能网络(AIN)业务平台上提供控制与管理。分布式电讯交换系统10还包括多个投送单元子系统14,这些子系统在业务单元子系统12的控制与指导下提供呼叫信息的报文传送机制。业务单元子系统12与投送单元子系统14通过光纤环16互相通信。呼叫信息以异步传送模式(ATM)单元格式在光纤环16上的投送单元子系统14之间及业务单元子系统12与各投送单元子系统14之间传送。
业务单元子系统12提供分布式电讯交换系统10的控制与管理功能并且与投送单元子系统14的传送机制功能分开。这一功能性的分离允许业务单元子系统12与投送单元子系统14独立地发展与升级以支持用于业务单元子系统12或投送单元子系统14所独有的改进的新业务或新技术。业务单元子系统12能支持多种类型的投送单元子系统14,后者能提供包含宽频带、视频、传统电话及个人通信业务在内的多种业务。分布式电讯交换系统10的业务单元子系统12与投送单元子系统14可以在地理上集中在一个单一的区内或分散在若干个远距离的区中,同时保持所执行的交换功能的分布式性质。
图2为传统的交换系统结构11与分布式电讯交换系统10的系统结构的对比方框图。传统的交换系统结构11包括通过控制总线17与中继单元15通信的一个公共控制单元13。中继单元15通过一个具有中心级21的矩阵变换电路19互相接口。分布式电讯交换系统10区分成三种类型的子系统:业务单元子系统10、投送单元子系统14及分布式中心级交换子系统18。分布式中心级交换子系统18允许业务单元子系统12与投送单元子系统14之间以及多个投送单元子系统14之间通过具有加/减(Add/drop)多路复用器(ADM)20的光纤环16的通信来与子系统接口。
投送单元子系统14所接收与发送的信息在分别传输到或自分布式中心级交换子系统18的光纤环16与加/减多路复用器20传输之前与之后是时隙交换的。分布式中心级交换子系统18允许通过使用光纤环16来取代传统的交换系统结构11中的中心级矩阵变换电路21与控制总线结构17。
业务单元子系统12所提供的集中控制与管理允许终端用户连接在不同的投送单元子系统14上同时保持公用的电话簿号码。为了将一位终端用户连接在两个不同的开关上,传统的交换系统需要两个电话簿号码。业务单元子系统12通过提供在出现单点故障时不损失信息的故障耐受性而超过对电信可靠性地要求。业务单元子系统12还提供对业务、连接、维护及对其它交换系统的外部信令接口的集中控制。
投送单元子系统14提供分布式电讯交换系统10的交换结构。分布式电讯交换系统10能支持提供众多业务的多个投送单元子系统14。这些业务包括宽频带接口、电缆应用、电话接口及个人通信业务。投送单元子系统14可专用于一种特定类型的业务,也可在一个单一的投送单元子系统14中提供多种业务。
分布式中心级交换子系统18允许通过光纤环16的业务控制通信、用户通信业务传送(包括视频、数据、图象与声音)以及报文传送的操作、管理、维护与供给(OAM&P)。光纤环16提供优质信息传输与双物理道传输能力。信息可沿一部分光纤环16在子系统之间传输,留出光纤环16的其余部分供分布式电讯交换系统10中的其它子系统之间的同时传输。为了管理增加的信息传输需求的时间,分布式中心级交换子系统18能动态地分配与重新分配光纤环16的带宽。也可分配光纤环16的带宽以支持并发的多个业务及并发的多业务传送,以及在光纤环16的不同部分上同时传输期间允许使用同一特定带宽。
图3为分布式电讯交换系统10的开关连接路由选择的一个实施例的方框图。为了与分布式中心级交换系统18的光纤环16接口,各投送单元子系统14为终端用户在开关功能单元22与ATM转接器24中的ATM单元适配中执行交换连接。对于投送单元内部呼叫连接,开关功能单元22连接投送单元B内的终端用户1与终端用户2而无须与光纤环16接口。带有一次呼叫的对应始发与目的终端用户的所有投送单元子系统14都执行这种投送单元内部呼叫连接。
对于投送单元之间的呼叫连接,终端用户3始发一个由其对应的投送单元C处理的呼叫。投送单元C的开关功能单元22对ATM转接器24进行适当的连接并随后将信息放置在光纤环16上。分布式中心级交换子系统18为了将信息传输到目的投送单元D而选择一条主路径16a。分布式中心级交换子系统18还为在光纤环16的主路径16a上传输信息分配一个适当的带宽。目的投送单元D接收呼叫信息并在ATM转接器24上进行转接,并在开关功能单元22上连接到适当的终端用户4。
在主路径16a被破坏或不能获得的情况中,从投送单元C到投送单元D的呼叫信息传输仍可沿次路径16b发生。为了提供克服光纤环16中的断裂或切断的开关连接的连续操作,分布式中心级交换子系统18允许子系统的双路径互连。为了提高光纤环16的传输容量,如果呼叫信息能流过主路径16a,便可将对应于次虚拟路径16b的光纤环16部分用于其它投送单元在同一分配带宽上的多组呼叫信息的同时传输。
对于不同的分布式电讯交换系统的投送单元子系统14之间的呼叫,可以象分别带有始发终端用户1与3及作为远程目的投送单元的终端用户2与4的投送单元B或投送单元C与D那样进行呼叫连接。始发终端用户、目的终端用户与分离的投送单元子系统之间的链路确定不同的电讯交换系统之间的呼叫的适当连接。
图4为分布式电讯交换系统10的一种特定应用的方框图。图4示出在由感兴趣的多个业务团体构成的一个特定业务区中操作的分布式个人通信服务(PCS)系统30。分布式PCS系统30包括一个与多个投送单元14通信的业务单元12。投送单元14接收与发送来自与去往多个射频收发机32以及传统的有线设备的呼叫信息。射频收发机32接收来自一个特定的覆盖区36中的始发轻型移动个人电话单元17的呼叫信息,并将呼叫信息发送给由投送单元14与业务单元12所确定的类似移动个人电话单元34。如图所示,所有投送单元是用光纤环16互连的。投送单元14也可通过与感兴趣的特定团体内的各投送单元14在一起的本地中心局38接收与发送呼叫信息。
业务单元12示出为逻辑上集中配置的,但如上所述仍然物理上耦合在光纤环16上。业务单元12与各投送单元14通信,并且还通过SS7信令网43与其它无线网40、有线网41及移动数据库42通信。业务单元12还与网络管理员44通信以便进行外部操作及维护活动。
为了缩短开发周期及明显地提高新业务的开展速度与可靠性,业务单元12与一台业务建立环境(SCE)与业务管理系统(SMS)处理器45通信以便开发可以重复使用的业务。业务单元12采用能通过应用模块化、可重用性及可移植性快速引入业务的先进智能网(ATN)与信息网络系统结构(INA)概念。分布式PCS系统30的模块化特征允许操作不同的销售商在不同时期开发与修改的各种硬件与软件产品。业务单元12与投送单元14是按照将业务控制与业务投送功能分离的信息网络系统结构(INA)原理设计的。业务控制与业务投送的分离使分布式PCS系统30能随着新业务的开发与附加业务的提供而发展。
操作中,分布式PCS系统30处理去往与来自无线个人电话单元34的呼叫。呼叫信息是从个人电话单元34的覆盖区36内的始发个人电话单元34发送到始发射频收发机32的。将呼叫信息从始发射频收发机32传送到一个始发投送单元14。始发投送单元14执行必要的交换操作将呼叫信息投送到业务单元12所指示的适当目的地。业务单元12对各投送单元14提供集中控制、操作、管理与维护,以协助呼叫信息的投送。
始发投送单元14在光纤环16上将呼叫信息转接到适当的目的投送单元14。目的投送单元14将呼叫信息发送到一台适当的目的射频收发机32供其传输到一个适当的目的个人电话单元34。对于分布式PCS系统30外面的目的地或有线网内的目的地,目的投送单元14便将呼叫信息发送到其相关联的中心局38,供其在公用交换电话网上传输到一台有线电话或另一个分布式PCS网内的一个投送单元。
光纤环16为一自恢复异步传送模式(ATM)同步光学网(SONET)环,它沿往来于始发与目的投送单元14之间的两条可能的路径,提供呼叫信息的高速传送。光纤环16构成实现在分布式PCS系统30中的分布式电讯交换系统10的中心级。每当业务单元12内的应用软件确定两个或以上的投送单元14与一次呼叫相关联时,便利用光纤环16。在光纤断开的情况中,光纤环16的自恢复性质为传送呼叫信息提供虚拟路径路由的重新确定。当用光纤环16实现时,分布式PCS系统30具有最大的能力与灵活性。然而,如果分布式PCS系统30是由少数投送单元14构成的,则可在分布式PCS系统30中的投送单元14之间实现点对点的光纤连接供呼叫信息传输。
图5为示出其各种业务与应用的业务单元12的简化方框图。业务单元12为采用高级智能网(AIN)概念的分布式PCS系统30提供集中业务与连接管理。业务单元12提供管理、维护与网络级管理、以及呼叫处理功能,其中包括连接、业务与移动性管理。可编程的应用计算环境(PACETM)提供分布式PCS系统30的业务单元12部件的基础。业务单元12在高速数据链路46及对光纤环16的加/减多路复用器接口47上与投送单元14通信。业务单元12通过SS7网络43的SS7链路48与公用交换电话网与其它网络及数据库的本地交换载波与局间载波通信。业务单元12提供给其它网络与数据库49的SS7信令连接允许建立对外部网络与数据库查询与应答的呼叫。
在呼叫的处理期间,业务单元12通过建立使用户单元能够通信及通过指示适当的投送单元14去建立对适当的射频收发机32的声音连接来告警进入电话呼叫的用户,以控制告警过程。指定给用户的呼叫是投送给服务于该用户的活动区中的射频收发机32的适当投送单元14的。业务单元12指令适当的投送单元14将该呼叫投送给适当的射频收发机32。业务单元12与内部数据库互相配合来确定用户的无线电位置、状态、告警信息及端接特征。从存储在内部数据库中的信息中,业务单元12控制向何处与如何将呼叫投送给用户。
业务单元12还与适当的投送单元一起工作来提供无线呼叫的始发业务。业务单元12指令适当的投送单元14将呼叫的始发与用户相关联,并在适当的数据库中查询用户的始发特征并从该组特征控制投送单元14。如果用户从一个覆盖区36移动到了另一覆盖区36,业务单元12控制保持该呼叫的无缝连接所需要的动作。业务单元12通过控制投送单元14的开关动作来控制投送单元14之间的传送。
业务单元12提供必要的数据存储、维护、存取与控制来提供分布式PCS系统30的所有业务。提供适当的业务所必要的数据库中包含呼叫处理信息、密码信息、无线设备配置、确定路由指令、用户特征、用户位置图及用户状态。传统上放置在蜂窝式与公用交换电话网的交换模块中的呼叫模型,在分布式PCS系统30中是适当地集中放置在业务单元12内的。业务单元12所提供的安全措施包括用户与终端的鉴别与登记。业务单元12还通过对操作支持系统50的接口提供操作、管理、维护与供给(OAM&P)功能。业务单元12还记录并生成呼叫的细节来保证精确的记帐数据。通过集中控制,业务单元12保证各投送单元14能支持分布式PCS系统30的各种业务与特征。
图6为投送单元14的简化方框图。分布式PCS系统30的交换功能是通过在业务单元12的集中控制与管理下作为小型交换模块工作的投送单元14分布在业务区周围的。投送单元14是提供交换结构与网络接口以及用光纤环16与其它投送单元互连的本地接入部件。投送单元14对光纤环16的接口是通过ATM加/减多路复用器20的。
投送单元14包括一个集成的无线触排51、一个信道触排52、一个光纤触排54及一个电缆触排55。采用这些不同的触排使投送单元14能够提供不同的无线电技术与有线连接的集成。集成的无线电触排51提供对利用不同通信链路的射频收发机32的一个接口,这些通信链路中包括光纤、同轴电缆与铜线、基地台控制器56可提供对射频收发机32的外部接口并在到信道触排52的一条综合业务数字网(ISDN)通信链路上将呼叫信息通知给投送单元14。虽然示出为在投送单元14的外部,但基地台控制器56也可集成在投送单元14中而不是通过一个标准的开放接口与之互连,类似于对集成的无线电触排51所示的。投送单元14也可与一个无线网单元58接口,后者接收来自射频收发机32的通信数据,并通过光纤连接在光纤触排54上将数据转发给投送单元14。投送单元14还可通过与电缆头57接口的电缆触排55提供使用有线电视分配的交换业务。
如上所述,投送单元14具有接纳各种无线电技术的灵活性。投送单元14还能通过信道触排59与本地交换机载波及局间载波接口而支持传统的有线与交换技术。通过提供对附近中心局38的中继接口,投送单元14允许公用、本地及局间网络呼叫信息的进出,而无须出现在蜂窝式通信传输中的那种到中心开关的昂贵的迂回路程。投送单元14与中心局38同处一地允许访问无线电资源分配设备及用户的特定用途分门别类业务。投送单元14还具有一个公共的控制部件60来提供本地控制与管理及诊断能力。公共控制部件60还提供一个本地交换矩阵变换电路将触排信道连接到触排信道上或者将触排信道连接到对光纤环16的ATM加减多路复用器20接口上,以及在与业务单元隔绝的情况中提供独立的应急操作。
图7为投送单元14的公共控制部件60的方框图。公共控制部件60通过为光纤环16提供呼叫信息的调制与解调光学接收机61及光学发射机62与光纤环16接口。加/减多路复用器20分别处理来自与去往光学接收机61与光学发射机62的呼叫信息。业务单元ATM转接层(AAL)64处理业务单元12与投送单元14之间的通信。SONET帧调节器66格式化通过投送单元AAL65放置在光纤环16上的呼叫信息并提供光学接收机61通过投送单元AAL65得到的呼叫信息的转换。
去往及来自SONET帧调节器66的呼叫信息横越时隙交换器67。时隙交换器67为在投送单元14的各种触排中出现的去往与来自触排控制单元的呼叫信息执行适当的交换。包含时钟发生器、系统存储器与控制处理器的控制单元68的功能为根据业务单元12的指示来控制投送单元14的操作。一组业务电路69监控时隙交换器67的操作。
图8为用在投送单元14中的无线电触排70的一个实例的方框图。无线电触排70具有多个线路接口72,各线路接口72连接在数字链路74上的一个对应射频收发机32上,各线路接口72还连接在一个选择器矩阵变换电路76上。选择器矩阵变换电路76将来自适当的线路接口72的呼叫信息提供给多个数字信号处理信道78,并从多个数字信号处理信道78接收对一个适当的线路接口72的呼叫信息。数字信号处理信道78包括一个呼叫控制信令电路82,它是在控制处理器80的控制下的。呼叫控制信令电路82执行呼叫信息的加密与解密、呼叫信息、传真与数据业务的代码转换、以及其它数字信号处理功能。各数字信号处理信道80内的各呼叫控制信令电路82接收与发送来自与去往触排控制单元84的呼叫信息。触排控制单元84发送与接收去往与来自各投送单元14中的公共控制部件60的时隙交换器65的信息。
图9为与无线电触排70接口的射频收发机32的一个实例的方框图。射频收发机32在多个无线电端口92之一的冗余接收机90上接收呼叫信息。冗余解码器94处理呼叫信息并由分集开关96将其放置在信号线98上。质量测定电路100处理信号线98上的呼叫信息并由多路复用器102将其切换到线路接口104上。线路接口104按照时钟发生器106在数字链路74上将呼叫信息发送到无线电触排70上。为了发送给无线用户,呼叫信息在数字链路74上通过线路接口104从无线电触排70流动到多路复用器102。多路复用器102选择一个可利用的无线电端口92并在信号线98上将呼叫信息发送到编码器108。调制器110调制呼叫信息供功率放大器112传输给无线用户。
尽管所示的一个特定无线电触排及采用时分多址联接(TDMA)技术的射频收发机32单元地点,投送单元14可接纳具有不同无线电技术的其它无线电触排与射频收发机。
简言之,分布式电讯交换系统包括向多个投送单元提供集中控制、管理与维护功能的一个业务单元。各投送单元是与一个中心局相关联的以支持感兴趣的本地群体,并以最高效与经济的方式提供本地终接与始发的通讯的互连。投送单元为分布式个人通信网提供交换功能。分布式电讯交换系统内的各投送单元用光纤环或通过点对点的光纤连接互相连接各投送单元。各投送单元通过一系列射频收发机接收来自个人无线电话单元的呼叫信息。在一种特定的应用中,各投送单元还能通过与公用电话交换网的连接或通过其本身装备的有线用户接口接收有线传输。投送单元在业务单元的控制与监视下将呼叫信息交换到其它投送单元或其它有线或无线网。
从而,按照本发明显示已提供了一种满足上述优点的分布式电讯交换系统。虽然已详细描述了较佳实施例,便应理解在这里可作出各种改变、替代与更改而不脱离下列权利要求书所定义的本发明的精神与范围。
Claims (20)
1、一种分布式电讯交换系统,包括:
多个投送单元,用于提供特定呼叫的接收与发送呼叫信息的接口,各投送单元分布在整个系统中以便按照所述呼叫信息的目的地要求提供对其它投送单元的呼叫信息的本地交换;
一个光纤环,提供各投送单元与其它投送单元之间及所述业务单元与各投送单元之间的通信路径;以及
一个业务单元,为了指示各投送单元向何处及如何投送所述呼叫信息而用于提供所述投送单元的集中控制、管理与维护。
2、权利要求1的系统,还包括:
与各投送单元相关联的多个射频收发机,用于接收与发送来自与去往与各射频收发机相关联的多个单个的移动射频单元的呼叫信息,各投送单元从一个对应的始发射频收发机接收所述呼叫信息并按照所述业务单元的指示将所述呼叫信息投送到一个适当的目的射频收发机。
3、权利要求2的系统,其中各投送单元包含多个无线电触排来提供对本地用户的无线接口。
4、权利要求1的系统,其中所述光纤环提供用于同时投送多个呼叫的呼叫信息的多条通信路径。
5、权利要求1的系统,其中各投送单元通过点对点光纤连接与其它投送单元通信。
6、权利要求1的系统,还包括:
与各投送单元相关联的一个本地中心局,以允许由所述投送单元所服务的用户与由所述本地中心局所服务的用户之间的通信。
7、权利要求1的系统,其中各投送单元包含多个信道排以提供对本地用户的有线接口。
8、权利要求1的系统,其中各投送单元包含一个公共控制部件,在所述业务单元的指示下执行去往与来自其它投送单元的所述呼叫信息的交换。
9、权利要求1的系统,其中各投送单元为了在投送单元之间传递呼叫信息及在各投送单元与所述业务单元之间传递呼叫控制信息而在异步传送模式单元中处理呼叫信息。
10、权利要求1的系统,其中所述业务单元向网络用户提供各种业务,所述业务单元适应于提供附加的业务而不影响业已存在的业务的操作。
11、权利要求1的系统,其中各投送单元包含一个电缆排来提供电讯业务的有线电视分配。
12、一种分布式个人通信业务系统,包括:
多个投送单元,用于向多个无线用户提供有线与无线通信接口,以便发送与接收去往与来自所述用户的呼叫信息,各投送单元分布在整个网络中以便按照所述呼叫信息内的目的地要求来提供去往与来自所述无线用户的呼叫信息的本地交换;
一个业务单元,用于提供各投送单元的集中控制、管理与维护,以指导各投送单元向何处及如何投送所述呼叫信息;
一个光纤环,用于在各投送单元与其它投送单元之间及所述业务单元与各投送单元之间提供一条通信路径,各投送单元包含一个加/减多路复用器用于与所述光纤环接口以便通过异步传送模式单元处理与传送呼叫信息;以及
与各投送单元相关联的多个射频收发机,用于发送与接收去往与来自所述无线用户的所述呼叫信息,各投送单元在所述业务单元的指示下从一个对应的始发的射频收发机接收所述呼叫信息并将其投送到一个适当的目的射频收发机。
13、权利要求12的系统,还包括:
与各投送单元关联的一个公用中心局,以允许无线用户与有线用户之间及有线用户之间的通信。
14、权利要求12的系统,其中各投送单元包含一个信道排以允许无线用户与有线用户之间及有线用户之间的通信。
15、权利要求12的系统,其中各投送单元允许本地用户与包含公用电话交换网在内的其它网络上的用户之间的有线与无线通信。
16、权利要求12的系统,其中所述业务单元定位一个特定的用户并判定该特定用户能与指定给它的呼叫信息通信,所述业务单元指示与找到所述特定用户的覆盖区相关联的一个特定投送单元去建立一条到达所述覆盖区内的、并与所述特定投送单元与所述特定用户关联的一个特定射频收发机的通信路径。
17、权利要求16的系统,其中当用户在一次单一的连续呼叫期间从一个覆盖区移动到了另一覆盖区时,所述业务单元控制投送单元与射频收发机之间的所述通信路径的转接。
18、权利要求12的系统,其中所述业务单元指令与一个始发用户关联的一个特定投送单元去为来自所述始发用户的呼叫信息建立一条始发连接路径。
19、权利要求18的系统,其中当用户在一次单一的连续呼叫期间从一个覆盖区移动到另一覆盖区时,所述业务单元控制投送单元与射频收发机之间的所述始发通信路径的转接。
20、权利要求12的系统,其中所述业务单元为指定给外部有线或无线网的呼叫信息执行数据库查询及启动呼叫建立过程。
