Description

Hinge for door or window
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a hinge for doors and windows.
More specifically, this type of hinge belongs to the type known as "hidden hinge".
The definition of this type of hinge is given in terms of the fact that the hinge is not visible from the outside with the movable sash closed.
Background
In fact, in the prior art solution described in patent document EP1223278, a hinge of this type comprises:
-a first hinge body with a socket, which can be incorporated in a corresponding recessed cavity formed on the profile of the upright of the fixed frame;
-a pin defining a rotation axis of the hinge, positioned and constrained within the socket of the first hinge body;
-a tab formed in one piece with the pin, radially projecting from the pin and having a curved profile;
-a first connection plate coupled on the tapered free end of the tab;
-a second hinge body with a flat profile, fixed on the outer surface of the profile of the movable frame or sash;
-a second plate formed in a "C" shape, associated with and projecting from the second hinge body and configured to allow, by means of a horizontal movement, the front access of the first connecting plate between the "C" shaped flaps of the second plate, to position the first plate on both sides and in the interior of the "C", the second plate being equipped with opposite vertical cavities for the access of screw means for the locking between the first and second plates.
This solution, in which two separate hinge bodies can be mounted in a fixed position by means of actual rotation pins housed in a fixed frame, has various drawbacks.
The assembly between the two hinge bodies is extremely complex and requires at least two operators, since the front movement towards each other between the two hinge bodies in the horizontal direction is very complex and makes the assembly slow, in order to allow the correct coupling and fixing of the corresponding two screws for each hinge.
In the case of heavy doors or windows, the installation of such hinges is more difficult.
In addition to the above-mentioned factors, especially in the case of doors or windows subjected to forces during opening and closing at opening angles exceeding 180 °, the mechanical tightness of the hinges becomes low over time due to the fragility of the two plates being connected in cantilever fashion, and they must in fact be adjusted or replaced often.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a hinge for doors and windows that overcomes the above-mentioned disadvantages of the prior art.
More specifically, the object of the present invention is to provide a hinge for doors and windows which enables the assembly of the hinge body on the door or window to be simplified and more precise.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a hinge for doors and windows capable of improving reliability of a hinge body in use through simplification of hinge parts.
These objects are fully achieved by the hinge for doors and windows according to the present invention, having the characteristics of the appended claims.

Detailed Description
With reference to the figures and in particular to figures 1 to 3, the hinge according to the invention is generally designated 100, is of the "concealed" type and is used on doors and windows.
The hinge 100 for doors and windows comprises a first hinge body 1 having a central socket 2 (or hollow chamber).
The first hinge body 1 is coupled to a profile of a pillar 3 of a fixed frame having a matching cavity for housing a central socket 2 of the first hinge body 1.
The hinge 100 comprises a pin 4 defining a vertical rotation axis Z of the hinge 100 and positioned and constrained within the socket 2 of the first hinge body 1.
The hinge 100 further comprises a first wing 5 integral with the rotation pin 4 and radially projecting from the rotation pin 4.
Furthermore, the hinge 100 comprises a second hinge body 6 with a flat profile, fixed on the outer surface of the section bar of the upright 7 of the movable frame or sash.
The second flap 8 is formed integrally with the second hinge body 6 and protrudes from the second hinge body 6.
The hinge 100 further comprises means 9 for stable connection between the first 5 and second 8 flaps, positioned between the first 5 and second 8 flaps.
As shown (see also fig. 4 to 7), the stable connection means 9 between the first 5 and second 8 flaps comprise a pair of pins 10, 11 parallel to each other associated with the first flap 5.
The pair of pins 10, 11 protrudes transversely from the first fin 5, is parallel to the vertical rotation axis Z and is slidingly coupled in a corresponding pair of cavities 12, 13 formed on the second fin 8 to form a single rigid fin by the partial overlapping of the two fins 5 and 8.
In other words, the two projecting tabs 5 and 8 are rigidly connected by the coupling of a pair of pins by means of a vertical movement downwards from the top of the movable sash, so as to form a single superimposed tab for connection with high rigidity and robustness.
Preferably, the pair of pins 10 and 11 associated with the first tab 5 has a cylindrical shape and the pair of cavities 12, 13 has a corresponding shape (for example, cylindrical) for housing the pair of pins 10, 11.
Preferably, the first wing 5 is formed by a first segment 5a and a second segment 5b, which are mutually consecutive and are arranged at an angle to each other starting from the rotation pin 4 (for example, but without limiting the scope of the invention, forming an "L" shape).
In view of this, on the second section 5b of the first fin 5, which is furthest from the rotation pin 4, a part of a pair of pins 10, 11 that protrude is housed.
It should be noted that two cavities 14, 15 are formed on the second section 5b of the first vane 5, which partially accommodate the corresponding pins 10, 11.
In view of this, interposed between the second section 5b and each pin 10 and 11 are means 16 for stabilizing the portions of the cylindrical pair of pins 10, 11 housed in the cavities 14 and 15 formed on the second section 5 b.
In a first solution, shown in figures 6 and 7, the stabilizer means 16 comprise screw means 16a which can be housed in a corresponding hole formed on the outer surface of the second section 5b of the first tab 5. Preferably, the thread stabilization means 16a may be a corresponding screw capable of engaging, by interference, the outside of the surface of each of the cylindrical pins 10, 11 to block the pin 10 or 11 within the corresponding cavity 14, 15.
According to a second solution, illustrated in fig. 11 and 12, the stabilizer 16 comprises an end portion on each of the pins 10, 11, equipped with a wider head 16b and a threaded segment 16c (close to the head 16 b), which can be screwed onto the lower end of the corresponding cavity 14 and 15 after the insertion and passage of the pins 10 and 11 along the corresponding cavity 14, 15.
In other words, the pins 10 and 11 are each inserted along the cavity (from the bottom), and each of the pins 10, 11 is then locked in the socket by screwing and forming a reverse threaded connection within the cavities 14, 15.
Preferably (see also fig. 9 and 10) a pair of cylindrical pins 10, 11 is positioned such that the first pin 10 is located at the connection point between the first section 5a and the second section 5b and the second pin 11 is located at the free end of the second section 5 b.
Thanks to this arrangement, the first flap 5 has three points for support/connection at its three ends.
It should be noted that the second flap 8 is integral with the second hinge body 6 associated with the outer surface of the profile of the upright 7 of the sash or frame, so as to form an "L" shape with the second hinge body 6.
The second tab 8 has two cylindrical cavities 12, 13 for housing the projecting portions of a pair of cylindrical pins 10, 11.
In view of this, two cylindrical cavities 12, 13 are formed at the connection point between the second flap 8 and the second hinge body 6 and at the free end of the second flap 8, respectively.
In this way, during assembly, the second tab 8 is superimposed on the second section 5b of the first tab 5, so that, once the installation is completed, the combination between the two tabs and the hinge body forms a sort of "U" shape for the connection between the fixing frame and the sash.
Preferably, the hinge 100 comprises an adjustment member 26 positioned along the vertical axis Z of the hinge 100 between the first 5 and second 8 flaps and between the two cylindrical cavities 12, 13 for housing the two pins 10, 11.
The adjustment member 26 is configured for varying the height distance between the first fin 5 and the second fin 8.
In the first embodiment shown in fig. 6 and 7, the adjustment member 26 comprises an adjustment screw 26a which can be housed in a through cavity 26b formed in the centre of the second flap 8.
In use, the lower end of the screw 26a is in contact with the upper surface of the second section 5b of the first fin 5: in this way, the screwing in or out of the screw 26a allows to vary the height distance between the second section 5b of the first wing 5 and the second wing 8 (by means of the sliding between the second wing 8 and the pins 10 and 11) to adjust the height of the movable sash.
In the second embodiment shown in fig. 11 and 12, the adjustment member 26 always comprises an adjustment screw 26a which can be housed (from the bottom upwards) in a through cavity 26b formed in the centre of the second section 5b of the first flap 5.
In use, the upper end of the screw 26a is in contact with the lower surface of the second wing 8: in this way, the screwing in or out of the screw 26a allows to vary the height distance between the second section 5b of the first tab 5 and the second tab 8 (by means of the sliding between the second tab 8 and the pins 10 and 11) to adjust the height of the movable sash.
Preferably, the rotation pin 4 of the hinge 100 comprises a first lower bush 17, from which first tab 5 protrudes, a first portion of the pin 4 being rotatably housed in a through-going manner inside this first lower bush 17, this first portion having an end hinged in the socket 2 of the first hinge body 1.
The pin 4 further comprises a second upper bushing 18 which receives another part of the pin 4 such that the other end of the hinge projects into the socket 2 of the first hinge body 1.
It should be noted that the longitudinal extension and depth of the socket 2 of the first hinge body 1 are configured to at least partially accommodate the first and second flaps 5, 8 when assembled to correspond to the closed position of the movable frame or sash on the fixed frame (see fig. 10) by the two surfaces to which the first and second hinge bodies 1, 6 are fixed moving towards each other.
Preferably, the first hinge body 1 has two end flanges 19, 20 configured to allow relative fixing to the outer surface of the section bar of the upright 3 of the fixed frame.
The installation of a hinge constructed in this way is as follows:
-preparing and fixing a first hinge body on the upright of the fixed frame and with the first tab with the pin outside the socket (figure 1);
-preparing and fixing a second hinge body on the movable sash (fig. 1);
-raising the sash to superimpose the second tab on the second section of the first tab, thereby positioning the cavity of the second tab coaxially with the pin of the second section of the first tab (fig. 2);
-lowering the sash in a direction parallel to the vertical rotation axis to couple the cavity of the second tab with the pin on the second section, thereby connecting the two hinge bodies together (fig. 3).
If necessary, after assembly, any adjustment step of the height of the sash with respect to the fixed frame (along a vertical axis parallel to the rotation axis) is performed by means of screws on the first or second wing. Thanks to this structure, the hinge according to the invention achieves the intended aim.
The presence of a pair of cylindrical pins allows the rigid connection between the two fins to be combined with a quick and simple assembly.
The particular shape of the two flaps, after assembly, forms a U-shaped structure, ensuring excellent mechanical tightness for doors and windows of any weight unit, with a high degree of reliability over time, without the risk of structural failure.
The hinge also has a quick and easy system for adjusting the height of the movable sash.
