Background
With the development of flat panel display technology, consumer demand for large-sized foldable display devices is gradually increasing. Therefore, many research institutes at home and abroad are beginning to research and develop large-sized foldable portable devices such as foldable mobile phones and foldable notebooks.
The display assembly and the folding component of the existing foldable display device are directly attached, and the folding and the flattening of the display assembly are realized through the folding and the flattening of the folding component. However, in the related art, the display assembly is crushed, deformed or broken due to elastic expansion of the display assembly and the folding member, and in addition, the display device does not have good flattening property because there is no flattening state holding member when it is restored to the flattened state.

Disclosure of Invention
The invention provides a foldable display device, wherein a coupling layer of the foldable display device enables a flexible display screen and a folding structure to slide relatively when the display device is bent, and meanwhile, the display device has good flattening performance after being flattened under the stretching action of an elastic assembly of the folding structure.
An embodiment of the present invention provides a foldable display device having a folded state and an unfolded state, including:
a flexible display screen comprising a non-flexed display region and a flexed display region between the non-flexed display regions;
the coupling layer is arranged on one side of the flexible display screen, which is far away from the display surface;
the folding structure is arranged on one side of the coupling layer, which is far away from the flexible display screen;
the folding structure comprises a supporting layer connected with the coupling layer and an elastic component arranged on one side of the supporting layer, which is far away from the coupling layer;
the flexible direction of the elastic component is the bending direction of the display device.
According to an example of the present invention, the coupling layer is an elastic adhesive layer, and when the foldable display device is bent, the flexible display screen and the supporting layer slide relatively.

Fig. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of a foldable display device according to an embodiment of the present invention, the foldable display device having a folded state and an unfolded state, and specifically, comprising:
in the flexible display screen 100, the flexible display screen 100 includes a non-bending display region and a bending display region between the non-bending display regions, and usually, the bending display region is located in the middle of the flexible display screen 100 along the bending direction, as shown in fig. 1, the bending display region can be regarded as a bending axis, and can be bent around the bending axis to form a region, i.e., a bending display region. The direction perpendicular to the bending axis in the plane of the flexible display 100 is defined as the bending direction, as indicated by the arrow in fig. 1.
And the coupling layer 200 is arranged on one side of the flexible display screen 100, which is far away from the display surface.
A folding structure 300 disposed on a side of the coupling layer 200 facing away from the flexible display screen 100;
the folding structure 300 comprises a support layer 310 connected with the coupling layer 200 and an elastic component arranged on the side of the support layer 310 facing away from the coupling layer; the support layer 310 may be a layer of elastic alloy material with a thickness of 30 μm to 100 μm, and preferably, the support layer 310 of the present invention has bending resistance and high elasticity. The flexible direction of the elastic component is the bending direction of the display device, and the arrow direction in fig. 1 is the bending direction.
In an embodiment, the coupling layer 200 is an elastic adhesive layer, which may be a dimethyl silica gel layer, a methyl vinyl silica gel layer, or a methyl phenyl vinyl silica gel layer, and the thickness of the elastic adhesive layer may be between 5.0 μm and 50.0 μm, and preferably, the thickness of the elastic adhesive layer is 5.0 μm. The coupling layer 200 is an elastic adhesive layer, so that when the foldable display device is bent, the flexible display screen 100 slides relative to the support layer 310.
In another embodiment, the coupling layer 200 includes two magnetic layers, the flexible display screen 100 and the support layer 310 are connected by the magnetism of the two magnetic layers, and when the foldable display device is bent, the flexible display screen 100 and the support layer 310 slide relatively. It should be noted that the magnetic force of the two magnetic layers is required to ensure the relative sliding between the flexible display screen and the supporting layer, and to ensure the connectivity between the flexible display screen and the supporting layer.
In the two embodiments, the supporting layer of the flexible display screen can move relatively when being bent through the design of the coupling layer, the relative movement is in the order of magnitude range of tens of nanometers, and the relative movement between the two layers can effectively reduce the stress between the two layers, so that the probability of deformation or damage of the flexible display screen and the supporting layer caused by repeated bending is reduced, and the reliability and the stability of the foldable display device when being bent are improved.
Fig. 2 is a schematic structural diagram of a folding structure according to an embodiment of the present invention, in which the folding structure includes a support layer 310 and an elastic component, the elastic component includes an elastic member 321, specifically, five springs in this embodiment, each of which extends along a bending direction of the display device; the five springs are in a plane parallel to the supporting layer and are uniformly distributed along the vertical and bending directions. The elastic member is not limited to the spring structure described above, and may have a structure having an expansion and contraction performance in the bending direction of the display device.
In the embodiment of fig. 2, the elastic assembly further comprises two fixing elements 322 for fixing the elastic element 321, and the two fixing elements 322 can be respectively disposed at two ends of the support layer 310, as shown in fig. 2. The fixing member 322 may be a strip structure made of acrylic, metal, etc., and may be fixed on the supporting plate 310 by gluing or welding, etc. according to different materials, which, of course, does not exclude the case that the fixing member 322 and the supporting plate 310 are an integral structure. In the embodiment of fig. 2, the fastening elements 322, in addition to serving to fasten the elastic elements, may also serve to distribute the tensile force of the elastic elements throughout the supporting layer.
In the embodiment of fig. 2, two ends of each spring are connected to the fixing member 322 through a connecting member 323, specifically, two ends of each spring are respectively connected to two connecting members 323, and the connecting members 323 are connected to the fixing member 322. Since the stretching force of the elastic component can affect the folded state and the unfolded state of the display device, the connecting piece of the above embodiment is in a bolt structure, see the structural schematic diagram of the connecting piece in fig. 3; the spring comprises a bolt part 323a and a threaded section 323b, the bolt part 323a and the threaded section 323b can be of an integrated structure, the connecting piece is in threaded connection with the fixing piece 322, namely, each spring is connected with the threaded section 323b and is fastened on the fixing piece 322 through the bolt part 323a, and the rotation of the connecting piece adjusts the telescopic state of the elastic piece.
In this embodiment, the magnitude of the pretightening force of each spring can be adjusted by rotating the bolt structure, the initial state of the spring is a stretching state to ensure that the display device has a good flattening characteristic, the initial state is a flattening state when the flexible display screen is a plane, and the flattening state is one of unfolding states. Due to the pretension force of the spring, the folding structure of the invention ensures that the supporting layer and the flexible display screen on the supporting layer have good flattening property after being flattened.
In order to prevent the display components in the flexible display screen 100 from being damaged by the excessive folding of the foldable display device when the foldable display device is in the unfolded state, the folding structure of the embodiment of the invention may further include at least one stop component 330, where the stop component 330 is disposed on a side of the support layer 310 opposite to the bending display region, the side facing away from the coupling layer. In the embodiment of fig. 2, two sets of stop members 330 are included and are located at the portion of the support layer 310 corresponding to the bending display area.
Fig. 4-5 are schematic structural diagrams of a stop assembly according to an embodiment of the invention, in which the stop assembly 330 includes a plurality of stop blocks 331 arranged along a bending direction of the display device, and a projection of the stop blocks 331 in a plane perpendicular to the bending axis is rectangular or trapezoidal. When the stop component is the plurality of rectangular stop blocks 331 of fig. 4, the unfolded state of the foldable display device is a flat state where the flexible display screen is in a plane (180 ℃); the stop assembly may be a plurality of trapezoidal stop blocks shown in fig. 5, and the longer side of the trapezoidal stop block is in contact with the supporting layer. The stop block 331 can be made of metal or plastic and can be fixed on the support layer 310 by gluing or welding.
The folding structure of an embodiment of the present invention further includes at least one pi-shaped locking element 340 and two grooves disposed on one side of the supporting layer, and fig. 6 is a schematic view of the structure of the pi-shaped locking element. When the foldable display device is in the folded state, the pi-shaped locking piece 340 is inserted into two of the grooves to lock the folded state of the foldable display device. The folding structure can comprise a pi-shaped locking piece, and one side surface of the supporting layer is provided with two corresponding grooves; the folding structure can also comprise two pi-shaped locking pieces, and the two side surfaces of the supporting layer are respectively provided with two corresponding grooves.
The foldable display device provided by the embodiment of the invention can be any product or component with a display function, such as a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a television, a display, a notebook computer, a digital photo frame, a media player, a watch device, a pendant device, an earphone or earphone device, a navigation device, a wearable or miniature device, an embedded device of a system in which electronic equipment with a display is installed in a self-service terminal or an automobile, and the like.

The foldable display device of the invention is provided with a movable support piece, and when the foldable display device is in a folded state, the movable support piece is hidden in a non-bent display area; when the foldable display device is in an unfolded state, the movable support piece can support and protect the bending display area on the foldable display device, so that the technical problem that the bending area in the existing display screen is not supported and protected is solved, the foldable display device in the unfolded state is more stable, creases generated by bending can be effectively reduced, and the reliability and the service life of the display are improved; meanwhile, the use experience of the user on the foldable display device is improved.

The foldable display device of claim 1, wherein the folding structure further comprises at least one pi-shaped locking member and two grooves disposed on one side of the supporting layer, and the pi-shaped locking member is inserted into the two grooves to lock the folded state of the foldable display device when the foldable display device is in the folded state.
10. The foldable display device of claim 1, wherein the support layer is a layer of resilient alloy material.
