At present, the tunnel hole defect of the friction stir welding circumferential weld of the storage tank cannot be fundamentally eliminated, the repair welding technical means is not mature enough, the quality and the efficiency improve the space, and the defects are mainly reflected in the following 2 aspects:

Although the plug repair welding is specially designed for the friction stir welding seam with a complex repair welding structure, most friction stir welding equipment used in the current factory does not have the plug repair welding function, the plug repair welding process is not mature enough, the application is difficult, and the cost of the modified equipment is high.
