According to the castor oil modified emulsion for improving the directionality of the silver powder of the water-based silver powder coating and the preparation method thereof, provided by the invention, the castor oil which is an environment-friendly resource is used as a starting raw material, renewable resources are effectively utilized, an effective way for solving the energy crisis is provided, the silver powder orientation effect of the water-based silver powder coating is effectively improved, the use of expensive silver powder arrangement auxiliaries is avoided, and the production cost is saved.
