Background
The oral odor is odor emitted from the oral cavity or other cavities filled with air, such as the nose, the sinuses and the pharynx, which seriously affects social interaction and mental health of people, and the WHO reports the oral odor as a disease and surveys the oral odor to show that the prevalence rate of the oral odor in China is 27.5 percent, and 50 percent of people in western countries has the oral odor all over the world, and local oral diseases are the main causes of the oral odor, but the oral odor is also the oral expression of certain serious systemic diseases, and some organic diseases also can cause the oral odor.
Along with the development of the current society, interpersonal communication is more close and frequent, social details are more emphasized, the influence of the halitosis problem on the social contact of people is increasingly highlighted, various epidemiological survey data at home and abroad show that a considerable proportion of adults are troubled by halitosis in the social contact process, the prevalence rate of halitosis is different from 19 to 43 percent, halitosis (halitosis) is an unpleasant smell emitted from the oral cavity, particularly the back part of the tongue, and Volatile Sulfides (VSC) mainly generated by oral cavity protein hydrolysis obligate anaerobes are caused.
The existing gargle for removing halitosis sold in the market has certain irritation to oral mucosa after use, is difficult to maintain fresh breath for a long time, has low selectivity for killing protein hydrolysis obligate anaerobic bacteria which generate VSC in oral cavity, and is easy to cause dysbacteriosis in oral cavity, for example, the gargle taking chlorhexidine as an effective component has short time for removing halitosis and has some non-negligible side effects, such as bitter taste, tooth and tongue surface coloring, even taste change and other problems caused by long-term use.
