Description

Laundry treatment appliance
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a laundry treatment apparatus, comprising: a closed drying air circuit provided with at least one fluff screen, a heat pump thermally coupled to the drying air circuit, flushing means for flushing particles from the fluff screen and the evaporator of the heat pump, and at least one collecting container for collecting particles flushed from the fluff screen and/or the evaporator, wherein the collecting container has at least one first inlet opening through which particles flushed from the fluff screen reach the collecting container and at least one second inlet opening through which particles flushed from the evaporator reach the collecting container.
Background
In a drying process carried out by means of a laundry treatment appliance with a heat pump, drying air circulates in a closed drying air circuit, during which drying process particles (e.g. fluff) adhering to the laundry to be dried are received by the drying air and carried away together. In order to minimize the adverse effects that may be associated with the transport of particles in the functional area of the laundry treatment appliance, in particular in the area of the heat exchanger of the heat pump, conventional laundry treatment appliances are then equipped with at least one so-called fluff screen for separating a large part of the particles from the drying air stream.
Further, such laundry treatment appliances are known: these laundry treatment appliances have a flushing device by means of which the lint pickers can be automatically cleaned (or flushed) using condensate (water) that accumulates during the drying process. This has the advantage that: the user does not have to remove and manually clean the lint screen after each drying process of the laundry treatment appliance. Such laundry treatment appliances may additionally have a collecting container for collecting particles washed off the lint screen.
However, an adverse effect may occur by the cleaning (or flushing) of the fluff screen by means of condensate, since the openings of the fluff screen may be temporarily blocked by water, which in turn may mean such a high flow resistance that a drying air volume flow sufficient for a suitable drying function does not occur during the drying process. This clogging of the lint screen has a great disadvantage for the performance of the laundry treatment appliance. The lower the ambient temperature, the greater the likelihood of such blockage.
DE 10 2008 041 998 A1 discloses a dryer having a drying chamber for receiving wet objects and a substantially closed process air guide for circulating process air through the drying chamber. The process air guiding device has a heat source for heating the process air before it enters the drying chamber, a heat sink for cooling the process air after it exits the drying chamber, and a first fluff filter arranged between the drying chamber and the heat sink for collecting fluff from the process air, wherein the first fluff filter is provided with a first cleaning device. The first cleaning device has: a collector for liquid; a first flush tube attached to the collector; a first control mechanism located in the first flush tube; a first distributor attached to the first washout tube for distributing liquid delivered by the first washout tube onto the first fluff filter and for receiving collected fluff from the first fluff filter; and a first discharge pipe for discharging the liquid with the received fluff from the first fluff filter to the collector.
Disclosure of Invention
The object of the invention is to improve the power and energy efficiency of a laundry treatment machine provided for drying laundry.
In the following description and the accompanying drawings, advantageous configurations are described, wherein these configurations can each constitute an expanded, particularly also preferred or advantageous aspect of the invention on their own or in different combinations of at least two of these configurations with each other.
The laundry treatment appliance according to the present invention comprises: a closed drying air circuit provided with at least one fluff screen, a heat pump thermally coupled to the drying air circuit, flushing means for flushing particles from the fluff screen and the evaporator of the heat pump, and at least one collecting container for collecting particles flushed from the fluff screen and/or the evaporator, wherein the collecting container has at least one first inlet opening through which particles flushed from the fluff screen reach the collecting container and at least one second inlet opening through which particles flushed from the evaporator reach the collecting container. At least one air outlet opening, which is arranged separately and independently from the inlet opening, is formed in a wall section of the collecting vessel facing the upper wall of the lint screen arrangement, which is configured and arranged such that a portion of the drying air flowing into the collecting vessel during the drying process via the first inlet opening flows out of the collecting vessel via the air outlet opening towards the evaporator, wherein the wall section is arranged on the bottom side below the area between the lower end of the lint screen and the evaporator.
According to the invention, an additional flow path for the drying air flowing through the drying air circuit during the drying process is provided by the additional air outlet opening of the collecting container, whereby the adverse effect on the drying process caused by the fluff screen being temporarily blocked by water during the execution of the flushing process by means of the flushing device is reduced. As a result, air output and good drying operation can also be better ensured on all boundary conditions, as a result of which shorter drying times and overall higher effective output can be achieved.
The evaporator of the heat pump is loaded with dry air via an additional air outlet opening of the collecting container. The laundry treatment appliance (or collection container thereof) according to the present invention may also have two or more corresponding air outlet openings.
Such a closed drying air circuit has a heat exchanger section in which the evaporator and the liquefier of the heat pump are arranged, a container in which the laundry drum is rotatably arranged, and at least one fan for circulating drying air in the drying air circuit during the drying process. The fluff screen is arranged in a section of the drying air circuit through which drying air from the container flows to the heat exchanger section.
The flushing device may be arranged for flushing the lint screen and the evaporator simultaneously. Alternatively or additionally, a flushing device may be provided for flushing the lint screen and the evaporator separately. The collection container may be removable from the laundry treatment appliance so that the collection container can be cleaned individually by the user.
The laundry treatment appliance can be configured, for example, as a laundry dryer or a laundry dryer.
According to one advantageous configuration, the air outlet opening is arranged at a step of the upper wall of the collecting container. For example, that section of the upper wall which is arranged below the evaporator, on which section the second inlet opening is configured, is arranged deeper than that section of the upper wall which is arranged below the fluff screen, on which section the first inlet opening is configured, wherein a step is configured between these wall sections.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the opening plane of the air outlet opening is arranged obliquely away from the evaporator. The drying air flow emerging from the air outlet opening is thereby directed upwards, so that the evaporator can be loaded with drying air over its height.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the laundry treatment appliance has at least one filter screen arranged on the air outlet opening, said filter screen extending at least over the entire air outlet opening. Thus, a larger filter surface is available for filtering the drying air, thereby increasing the air utility of the laundry treatment appliance, which in turn contributes to a better energy efficiency of the laundry treatment appliance.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the filter screen is arranged such that it is flushed during a flushing process by means of a portion of the flushing liquid used for the flushing process by means of which the evaporator is flushed. Thus, the lint screen does not require excessive maintenance, as it is also automatically cleaned during the evaporator flushing process.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the screen opening size of the filter screen is greater than the screen opening size of the fleece screen. The filter screen is thereby reliably prevented from being blocked by the flushing liquid. This configuration is particularly feasible when the functional surface of the filter screen is relatively small compared to the functional surface of the fleece screen, so that only a small stream of dry air, which is loaded with particles, passes through the filter screen.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the laundry treatment appliance has at least one closing element which is arranged movably at the air outlet opening and which in a closed position completely closes the air outlet opening and in a release position at least partially releases the air outlet opening. The air outlet opening is thus not necessarily provided with a filter screen, since no continuous drying air flow flows through the air outlet opening due to the closeability thereof, and only relatively small amounts of particles are conducted through the air outlet opening to the heat exchanger. The closure element can be moved into the release position during a flushing procedure performed with the flushing device. The closing element may be configured, for example, as a flap or the like.
According to a further advantageous embodiment, the laundry treatment appliance has at least one electrically controllable drive connected to the closing element. This makes it possible to automate the release and closure of the air outlet opening by means of the closure element. The drive means may have an electric motor and be connected to the appliance electronics of the laundry treatment appliance.
