Description

混合装置
本发明涉及一种混合装置,特别是涉及用于通过拉伸变形使多种聚合物混合和均化的配混装置。
当生产聚合物混合料时,其各种成分,例如不同的聚合物、填料、添加剂等,应该加以均匀地混合以便得到尽可能均质的混合料。这种均匀地混合是通过将各成分在连续配混机或分批配混机中配混而成,连续配混机可以挤出机为例,它可以是双螺杆型中的单螺杆。当混合料中包含两个或更多个不同的聚合物时,应该将它们相互充分地混合以使它们理想地形成完全均质的聚合物共混料。为此,将各聚合物经外来加热或不加热混合以便使它们熔融并转变为液体,并且各液体聚合物以足够高的剪切速率混合。
虽然配混聚合物混合料的常规方式在很多情况下导致满意的结果,但当配混多状态的聚合物混合料,尤其是配混包含低分子量乙烯聚合物和高分子乙烯聚合物的多状态聚合物混合料时却遇到了一些问题。由此,当配混例如用于管材的聚合物混合料时,在配混好的材料中产生所谓“白斑”。这些白斑的尺寸约为10~50μm并且由没有被充分配混在混合料中的那些高分子量聚合物粒子构成。除有损于外观外这些白斑会对混合料的强度有不利的影响。此外,当配混例如用于生产薄膜的聚合物混合料时,经常产生尺寸约为0.01~1mm的凝粒。这些凝粒在制成的薄膜中表现为受损外观的不同质性并且由没有被充分配混在混合料中的那些高分子量聚合物粒子构成。
上述白斑和凝粒是聚合物工业中的一个严重问题并且该问题的解决将意味着采用其他优越的多状态聚合物混合料的障碍就被排除。
人们已试图通过对聚合物混合料施加大量变形能来解决关于凝粒和白斑的问题。通常,这是通过在高温下以高的剪切速率配混聚合物混合料达到的。然而,这样过量的能量输入常常导致聚合物的降解,当聚合物混合料包含粘度差很大的各聚合物材料时尤其如此。对于包含粘度差很大的各聚合物的聚合物混合料,已经证实通过施加拉伸变形进行混合比通过纯剪切变形进行混合更为有效和有利。

作为用于通过拉伸变形混合象聚合物混合料那样的粘性液体的装置的一个实例可以提及Xuan等人的专利US-A-5451106,其内容在此引入作为参考。该专利公开了一种混合机,它具有一竖立的圆筒形壳体,壳体内封装一下模头件和一可调的上模头件。相对的环状同心的模头件突起部限定了各交替的同心缝口和腔。设在壳体侧壁上的入口可使液体聚合物输入装置内通过各模头间的缝口和腔,在那里聚合物受到拉伸变形,最后聚合物通过中心底部出口排出。
按照US-A-5451106的装置具有若干缺点。例如,将入口设在壳体的侧壁和将出口设在壳体的底部导致材料在装置中不均匀的分布,这因为在混合腔中的压力差而产生磨损问题。这样的入口和出口设置还使其难以将混合装置以简单的方式连接到现有的配混设备上。此外,如果要保持装置的外径在允许的限度内,则具有同心突出部的各圆形模头的几何形状限制了同心突起部的数目,从而限制了拉伸变形。
本发明的一个目的是提供一种混合装置,它可以减轻或消除上述那类现有技术的装置中的缺点。因此本发明的一个目的是提供一种供材料均匀分布并易于连接到现有配混设备上或与之成一整体的装置。本发明另一个目的是提供一种可以包括大量交替的缝口和腔以便增强拉伸变形而不使装置外径过大的装置。

装置的芯杆或壳体可以是静止的或设置成可转动或摆动。因此,设置在壳体腔室内的芯杆可以是静止的,即不转动,或借助电机可转动的。目前优选的是芯杆(和壳体)是静止的,特别是因为这带来比较简单的结构。

如图1中所示,本发明混合装置包括一具有入口2和出口3的壳体1。壳体的内壁4限定一个与入口2和出口3连通的腔室5。在腔室5内部设置一芯杆6。腔室5和芯杆6都是成向着出口3逐渐变细的圆锥形并且将芯杆6腔室5绕一公共轴线同心地设置。芯杆6的尺寸稍小于腔室5的以便在芯杆与腔室之间限定一混合空间7。如图1和2中所示,芯杆在其表面上具有周向的突起部或凸缘8。这些突起部8将混合空间分成若干个缝口9和腔10。在图1和2的实施方案只有芯杆6设有突起部8,但正如先前所述,在芯杆6和腔室壁4其中一个或两个上设置突起部都属于本发明的范围内。如果芯杆6和腔室壁4都设有突起部8,则将这些突起部优选为相互面对面地设置以便各突起部的顶端限定各缝口并且在各突起部之间的区域限定各腔。虽然不算是优选的,以交错的方式设置各突起部也是可能的,亦即将芯杆上的突起部设在腔室壁各突起部之间。
如图1中所示,壳体1在其出口端设有带模孔12的模板11,混合好的聚合物材料通过模孔12输送。为了将芯杆6安装在壳体1的内部并且将缝隙,亦即一突起部8的顶端与对面的腔室壁4之间的距离,调整到一适当的值,芯杆和腔室壁是可以相互相对移动的,特别是芯杆是通过分别在芯杆和腔室壁上的螺纹13、14被拧在壳体中的。
在混合装置的入口端芯杆具有入口15用以将待处理的聚合物材料输入混合装置。该入口15经由四个输送通道16与混合空间7连通,图1中只示出两个输送通道16。
在图1和2中所示的实施方案中芯杆6是静止的,亦即它是不能转动的。然而,可转动的芯杆也是在本发明的范围内。这可以通过将芯杆安装在与轴线A共同延伸的轴(未示出)上并且用一轴承(未示出)代替螺纹13和14来达到。这个轴承应该属于能使芯杆与壳体之间可相对轴向移动的那种类型以便可以调整缝隙。或者,缝隙的调整可以通过使壳体的腔室壁可向着或背离芯杆方向径向移动(图1中未示出)来得到。
如图3中示意图所示,本发明混合装置是包括一台熔融挤出机17、一台均化挤出机18和一台切粒机19的配混设备中经优选的部分。挤出机17可以是单螺杆或双螺杆挤出机,它设有用于驱动螺杆的电机和用于供给待配混的聚合物材料的料斗21。熔融挤出机17可以是本领域技术人员已知的类型,因此勿需进一步详细描述挤出机17。本发明混合装置连接于熔融挤出机17的出口端以便从挤出机17接收基本上熔融了的聚合物材料。混合装置可以单独地连接于一台常规的熔融挤出机或可以设计成为熔融挤出机整体的一部分。在后一情况下芯杆6是可转动的并且固定在挤出机螺杆22的延长部上,如图3中所示意的。混合装置的壳体1同样可以构成挤出机筒体23的延长部并且可以设置温控装置(未示出),例如用于循环热交换流体的通道。为调整缝隙9壳体1的腔室壁4可以轴向移动,如箭头24所示。聚合物材料由混合装置通过出口3排出并输入后面的均化挤出机18。这种属于本领域技术人员已知类型的均化挤出机作为由电机25驱动的双螺杆挤出机示意地示于图3中。通过料斗26可以加进各种添加剂,如着色剂等。然后,聚合物材料和各种添加剂通过由图3中所示的挤出机18的双螺杆27、28进行的分散混合和分配混合而被均化。于是,均化好的聚合物材料被排入切粒机19中,切粒机19将聚合物材料粉碎成细粒。
另外,为设置图3的配混设备的不算是优选的另一方案是将熔融挤出机17、混合装置、均化挤出机18和切粒机都排成一行,并且都用一共用电机驱动。
图4和5示意地示出具有一台双螺杆熔融挤出机17、一台其腔室壁29可径向调整的双芯杆混合装置和一台双螺杆均化挤出机18的一个实施方案,其中各装置相互排成一行并且安装在由一共用电机(未示出)驱动的共轴30上。在该实施方案中聚合物材料在挤出机17中至少被基本上熔融并且由它的螺杆螺纹31送入混合装置,在混合装置中聚合物材料受到拉伸变形以便消除凝粒和“白斑”。由混合装置将聚合物材料排入均化挤出机18,在挤出机18中,类似于关于图3所描述的,聚合物材料通过双螺杆挤出机的螺纹32被均化。
如图4和5中箭头33所示,壳体的各腔室壁部分29通过未示出的装置可象一闸阀一样径向移动以便调整缝隙。不用并排设置的两混合装置,如图4和5中所示那样,也可以将两个或更多个混合装置相互前后串联地设置。
以上参照某些优选实施方案已对本发明的混合装置作了描述,但应该理解本发明并不限于那些并且在本发明由附属权利要求所限定的范围内可以作出各种变型。本发明的装置为混合聚合物材料和特别是为混合双状态或多状态聚合物以及通过使聚合物材料受拉伸变形消除由它们引起的凝粒和“白斑”提供了一种简单而紧凑的装置。本发明混合装置是特别有利的,因为为了大量的拉伸变形它能够在小的体积上形成许多缝口和腔,亦即该装置是很紧凑的,并且它还易于连接到现有的配混设备如挤出机上或将其与新设计的配混设备合成一体。

Claims (10)

1.一种用于通过拉伸变形混合和均化多种聚合物的装置,它具有:
一具有入口(2)和出口(3)的壳体(1);
该壳体具有限定一腔室(5)的内壁(4),腔室(5)与入口和出口连通;
一芯杆,设置在腔室内并在芯杆(6)与腔室壁(4)之间限定一混合空间(7);
该混合空间被各突起部(8)分为若干缝口(9)和腔(10);
其特征在于:腔室(5)和芯杆(6)绕公共轴线(A)同心地设置并且都是成向出口方向逐渐变细的圆锥形;而且为了达到拉伸变形,将各突起部(8)在芯杆(6)和腔室壁(4)其中至少一个上周向设计成连续环状凸缘,其留有的缝隙在0.5mm至10mm的范围内,缝隙的宽度在0至5mm的范围内。
2.按照权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于芯杆(6)是静止的。
3.按照权利要求1或2所述的装置,其特征在于为了调整缝隙(9)腔室壁(4)和芯杆(6)可相互相对地调整。
4.按照权利要求3所述的装置,其特征在于芯杆(6)可向着和背离腔室壁(4)的方向轴向调整。
5.按照权利要求3所述的装置,其特征在于腔室壁(4)可向着和背离芯杆(6)的方向轴向调整。
6.按照权利要求3所述的装置,其特征在于腔室壁(4)可向着和背离芯杆(6)的方向径向调整。
7.按照权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于混合空间(7)具有2~20个缝口(9)。
8.按照权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于装置的入口(2)连接于熔融挤出机的出口。
9.按照权利要求8所述的装置,其特征在于熔融挤出机(17)、入口(2)、芯杆(6)和装置的出口(3)具有公共轴线(A)。
10.按照权利要求1所述的装置,其特征在于装置的出口(3)连接于均化挤出机(18)。
