Microbial remediation refers to a bioremediation technique that utilizes a functional microbial population existing in nature or cultured artificially to promote or strengthen the metabolic function of microorganisms under a suitable environmental condition, thereby reducing the activity of toxic pollutants or degrading the toxic pollutants into nontoxic substances and reducing or avoiding ecological risks, and the bioremediation technique becomes an important component of the bioremediation technique of contaminated soil.
