Background
The muscovy duck academic name Carina moschata, also called musk duck, belongs to different species from common domestic ducks. The muscovy duck is one of the very promising poultry species for meat and liver. It has the advantages of large size, rapid growth, good liver production performance, etc.
The muscovy ducks can be raised in a free-range mode, a semi-free-range mode or a house-in-house mode, and the industrial raising is generally performed in a whole house-in-house mode due to environmental protection. Because the muscovy ducks have nest holding habit, nest holding appears after laying eggs for 3-4 weeks. The prior measures are to select the nest-holding ducks, and the nest-holding ducks are caught up with other duck houses to wake up, so that the nest-holding ducks are raised in the whole house instead. There is no playing field outside. And small channels, and windows are all plugged, so that the selection is difficult; in addition, the muscovy ducks like to lay eggs at the wall edges and other relative hidden positions, the ideal egg laying positions in the existing duck shed are not more, the yield is reduced to a certain extent, and difficulties are brought to the egg picking of workers.
