外壳160在前部170和后部172之间延伸。外壳160具有顶部174和底部176。外壳160具有在底部176和/或后部172处敞开的腔178以接收上触头模块162和下触头模块164。外壳160包括第一侧180和第二侧182。在所示的实施例中,外壳160是由电介质材料制成的单件式外壳。例如,外壳160可以由塑料材料模制。然而,在替代实施例中,外壳160可以是由多个件制成的多件式外壳,例如上外壳和下外壳,或前外壳和后外壳。
外壳160包括上延伸部184,上延伸部184具有上配合槽185(图3),上配合槽185配置为接收上可插拔模块106(如图1所示)的一部分。外壳160包括下延伸部186,下延伸部186具有下配合槽187(图3),下配合槽187配置为接收下可插拔模块106(如图1所示)的一部分。延伸部184在外壳160的前部170在前壁188前方延伸。配合槽185、187限定卡槽,卡槽配置为接收电路卡。在替代实施例中,可以提供其他类型的插座。上触头166布置在上配合槽185中以与上可插拔模块106配合。下触头168布置在下配合槽187中以与下可插拔模块106配合。
在示例性实施例中,上触头模块162和下触头模块164在前部170和底部176之间过渡,以将可插拔模块106与电路板102(如图1所示)电连接。上触头166从上配合槽185过渡到底部176以端接至电路板102。在各种实施例中,上触头166可以表面安装到电路板102。例如,上触头166可以包括焊接尾部,焊接尾部配置为表面安装到电路板102。在替代实施例中,上触头166可以包括顺应针脚,其配置为压配合到电路板102中。在实施例实施例中,上触头模块162包括触头保持器190(图4),其配置为保持上触头166。触头保持器190可以联接到外壳160,例如在底部176处。
下触头168从下配合槽187过渡到底部176以端接至电路板102。在各种实施例中,下触头166可以表面安装到电路板102。例如,下触头168可以包括焊接尾部,其配置为表面安装到电路板102。在替代实施例中,下触头168可以包括顺应针脚,其配置为压配合到电路板102中。在实施例实施例中,下触头模块164包括触头保持器192(图4),其配置为保持下触头168。触头保持器192可以联接到外壳160,例如在底部176处。
在示例性实施例中,通信连接器112包括光管保持器200(图4),其形成光管组件146的一部分。光管保持器200保持光管148。光管保持器200联接到外壳160,例如在底部176处。光管保持器200可以在触头保持器190和触头保持器192之间联接到外壳160。光管保持器200包括凹部202,凹部202在光管保持器200的底部204处敞开。凹部202位于光管148下方。凹部202配置为接收安装到电路板102的LED。
在示例性实施例中,外壳160包括从前壁188向前延伸的一个或多个平台210。每个平台210保持对应的(多个)光管148。在各种实施例中,一个或多个平台210可以整合为单个一体的结构。平台210位于上延伸部184和下延伸部186之间。每个平台210包括光管通道212,其接收对应的光管148。在示例性实施例中,光管148从外壳160的前部延伸穿过光管通道212进入外壳160的腔178中,或者光管过渡到光管保持器200。光管148的一些部分由外壳160包围,且光管148的一些部分暴露。例如,光管通道212包括封闭部分214和敞开部分216。光管148沿着封闭部分214由光管通道212支撑,且沿着敞开部分216由光管通道212支撑。光管通道212由顶壁220、底壁222、侧壁224、侧壁226限定。在所示的实施例中,底壁222比顶壁220长,以形成敞开部分216。在各种实施例中,一些侧壁224可以比其他侧壁226长。在其他各种实施例中,一些侧壁226可以比其他侧壁224长。光管148在敞开部分216处从上方暴露以与光管的其他部分配合,如下文更详细描述的。
图5是处于部分组装状态的插座连接器组件104的截面图,示出了准备在通信连接器112上联接到电路板102的插座笼110。图6是处于组装状态的通信系统100的截面图,示出了在通信连接器112上联接到电路板102的插座笼110且示出了电连接到通信连接器112的可插拔模块106。
间隔件142包括由间隙154分开的上面板150和下面板152。间隔件142将腔140分隔成上模块通道116和下模块通道118。间隙154为光管组件146提供空间。间隔件142在前部156和后部158之间延伸。前部156设置在插座笼110的前端138。后部158与后壁136间隔开,以提供接收通信连接器112的空间。间隔件142竖直地位于底壁132上方,底壁132也与后壁136间隔开以留下开口,该开口在插座笼110降低到电路板102上时接收通信连接器112。
在示例性实施例中,间隔件142包括光管保持器230,其保持光管组件146的一部分。在所示的实施例中,光管保持器230设置在间隔件142的后部158。可选地,光管保持器230可以在间隔件142的后方延伸,例如进入间隔件142后方的空间。光管保持器230将光管148在间隙154内相对于上面板150和下面板152定位。光管保持器230可以定位光管148以与由通信连接器112保持的光管148的其他部分配合。光管保持器230包括光管通道232,其接收对应的光管148。在示例性实施例中,类似于平台210的光管通道212,光管通道232包括封闭部分234和敞开部分236。
光管组件146包括第一光管构件240和第二光管构件242。第一光管构件240联接到通信连接器112。第二光管构件242联接到间隔件142。第二光管构件242在可分离的配合接口244(图6)处联接到第一光管构件240。当插座笼110在通信连接器112上方降低到电路板102上时,第一光管构件240的和第二光管构件242的端部在可分离的配合接口244处对准,以将第一光管构件240与第二光管构件242通信地联接。光信号可以跨越可分离的配合接口244从第一光管构件240传输到第二光管构件242。
参考图5,第一光管构件240包括第一光接收端250和与第一光接收端250相对的第一光发射端252。光接收端250在外壳160的底部176由光管保持器200保持。光接收端250从安装到电路板102的LED 206接收光。光发射端252在外壳160的前部170在平台210处接收在光管通道212中。光发射端252延伸到光管通道212的敞开部分216。光发射端252在光管通道212中暴露以与第二光管构件242配合。在示例性实施例中,第一光管构件240在光发射端252处沿着轴线254延伸。光发射端252以一角度切割,使得光发射端252的末端256横向于轴线254成角度。在示例性实施例中,光发射端252的末端256面向上方和前方。
第一光管构件240在第一光接收端250和第一光发射端252之间具有光传输体258。光传输体258可以通过全内反射在光接收端250和光发射端252之间传输光。在所示的实施例中,光传输体258在光接收端250和光发射端252之间通过90°的弯曲过渡。
参考图5,第二光管构件242包括第二光接收端260和与第二光接收端260相对的第二光发射端262。光发射端262位于插座笼110的前端138,且由操作者从插座笼的外部可见,以监测通信系统100的操作。光接收端260由光管保持器230保持在间隔件142中。光接收端260从第一光管构件240接收光。光接收端260延伸到光管通道232的敞开部分236。光接收端260在光管通道232中暴露以与第一光管构件240配合。在示例性实施例中,第二光管构件242在光接收端260处沿着轴线264延伸。光接收端260以一角度切割,使得光接收端260的末端266横向于轴线264成角度。在示例性实施例中,光接收端260的末端266面向下方和后方。
第二光管构件240在第二光接收端260和第二光发射端262之间具有光传输体268。光传输体268可以通过全内反射在光接收端260和光发射端262之间传输光。
参考图5和图6,在组装期间,第一光管构件240预装载在通信连接器112中且第二光管构件242预装载在插座笼110的间隔件142中。通信连接器112在插座笼110之前安装到电路板102。在配合期间,插座笼110在通信连接器112上方对准且在向下配合方向300(图5)中下降。光管保持器230在上延伸部184的前方偏移并错开,使得当插座笼110下降到电路板102上时,光管保持器230不与上延伸部184干涉。光管保持器230与平台210对准,使得当插座笼110下降到电路板102上时,光管保持器230与平台210对接。第一光管构件240和第二光管构件242在配合时在可分离的配合接口244(图6)处彼此对接。具有成角度的末端256、266使第一光管构件240和第二光管构件242之间的配合容易。成角度的配合接口244防止在配合期间发生短截线(stubbing)。成角度的配合接口限制了跨越光管构件240、242之间的接口的光传输的向后反射。当光管保持器230和平台210联接在一起时,配合接口244被封闭。光管保持器230和平台210围绕第一光管构件240和第二光管构件242。例如,光管保持器230的封闭部分234封闭平台210的敞开部分216,且平台210的封闭部分214封闭光管保持器230的敞开部分236,以通过光管保持器230和平台210完全地封闭光管通道。例如,第一光管构件240的光发射端252和第二光管构件242的光接收端260沿着顶部、沿着底部、沿着第一侧和沿着第二侧封闭。
在示例性实施例中,限定可分离的配合接口244的末端256、266横向于配合方向300成角度。限定可分离的配合接口244的末端256、266横向于穿过端部252、260的纵向轴线254、264成角度。限定可分离的配合接口244的末端256、266横向于光发射方向302(图6)成角度。
在示例性实施例中,当组装时,平台210联接到光管保持器230。平台210在敞开部分216处保持第一光管构件240的光发射端252。当光管保持器230联接到平台210时,平台210接收第二光管构件242的光接收端260的一部分。在示例性实施例中,光管保持器230的敞开部分236接收第一光管构件240的光发射端252的一部分。因此,第一光管构件240和第二光管构件242共同接收在平台210和光管保持器230中。平台210和光管保持器230可以在可分离的配合接口244处为第一光管构件240和第二光管构件242提供电介质覆盖物。平台210的和光管保持器230的边缘从配合接口244偏移,以确保配合接口244被覆盖并且确保光不会逸出。
参考图6,可插拔模块106可以是I/O模块,例如收发器模块。在示例性实施例中,每个可插拔模块106具有可插拔本体280,其可以由一个或多个壳体限定。可插拔本体280可以是导热的和/或可以是导电的,以便为可插拔模块106提供EMI屏蔽。可插拔本体280包括配合端282和相对的前端284。配合端282配置为插入对应的模块通道116或118。前端284可以是电缆端,其具有从其延伸到系统内的另一部件的电缆。可插拔模块106包括模块电路板288,其配置为通信地联接到通信连接器112。模块电路板288可以具有与模块电路板288相关联的导体、迹线、垫、电子器件、传感器、控制器、开关、输入、输出等,以形成各种电路。

Claims (13)

1.一种插座连接器组件(104),包括:
配置为安装到电路板(102)的插座笼(110),所述插座笼具有限定腔(140)的壁(114),所述插座笼在所述腔中具有间隔件(142),所述间隔件(142)包括由间隙(154)分开的上面板(150)和下面板(152),所述间隔件将所述腔分隔成上模块通道(116)和下模块通道(118),所述上模块通道(116)配置为接收上可插拔模块(106),所述下模块通道(118)配置为接收下可插拔模块(106);
配置为安装到所述电路板的通信连接器(112),所述通信连接器接收在所述腔中,所述通信连接器具有保持上触头模块(162)和下触头模块(164)的外壳(160),所述上触头模块具有上触头(166),所述上触头(166)与所述上模块通道对准以与所述上可插拔模块配合,所述下触头模块具有下触头(168),所述下触头(168)与所述下模块通道对准以与所述下可插拔模块配合;以及
光管组件(146),包括联接到所述通信连接器的第一光管构件(240)和联接到所述间隔件的第二光管构件(242),所述第二光管构件在可分离的配合接口(244)处从所述第一光管构件接收光。
2.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述第一光管模块和第二光管模块在配合方向(300)上配合,所述配合方向大致垂直于跨越所述可分离的配合接口(244)穿过所述光管组件(146)的光发射方向(302)。
3.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述第二光管构件(242)沿着纵向轴线(264)延伸,所述可分离的配合接口(244)横向于所述纵向轴线成角度。
4.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述第一光管构件(240)具有光发射端(252),且所述第二光管构件(242)具有光接收端(260),所述光接收端在光发射方向(302)上在所述可分离的配合接口(244)处从所述光发射端(252)接收光,所述可分离的配合接口横向于所述光发射方向成角度。
5.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述第二光管构件(242)接收在所述间隔件(142)的间隙(154)中,且在所述通信连接器(112)上降低到所述电路板(102)上,以使所述第二光管构件与所述第一光管构件(240)在向下配合方向(300)上配合,所述可分离的配合接口(244)横向于所述配合方向成角度。
6.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述第一光管构件(240)包括第一光接收端(250)和第一光发射端(252),所述第一光接收端配置为从安装到所述电路板(102)的LED(206)接收光,所述第一光发射端布置在所述外壳(160)的前部(170)且面向所述间隔件(142),所述第二光管构件(242)包括第二光接收端(260)和第二光发射端(262),所述第二光发射端布置在所述插座笼(110)的前端(138),所述第二光接收端邻近所述第一光发射端布置以在所述可分离的配合接口(244)处从所述第一光管构件接收光。
7.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述外壳(160)包括平台(210),所述平台从所述外壳的前部(170)朝向所述间隔件(142)延伸,所述平台具有接收所述第一光管构件(240)的光管通道(212)。
8.如权利要求7所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述平台(210)接收所述第二光管构件(242)的端部(260)。
9.如权利要求7所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述间隔件(142)包括接收在所述间隙(154)中的光管保持器(200),所述光管保持器具有接收所述第二光管构件(242)的光管通道(212),所述光管构件联接到所述平台(210)。
10.如权利要求9所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述平台(210)和所述光管保持器(200)包围所述可分离的配合接口(244)。
11.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述可分离的配合接口(244)包围在电介质覆盖物中。
12.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述通信连接器(112)表面安装到所述电路板(102)。
13.如权利要求1所述的插座连接器组件(104),其中所述第一光管构件(240)位于所述上触头模块(162)和所述下触头模块(164)之间。
