Description

Smoking article
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a smoking article having a capsule member.
Background
A filtered smoking article, such as a typical filtered cigarette, is formed as follows: the filter portion is formed by wrapping a filter body including cellulose acetate fiber bundles or a filter body formed by bundling and folding nonwoven fabrics including pulp and forming the filter body into a rod shape with filter wrapping paper, and the tobacco portion is formed by wrapping dry tobacco leaves with wrapping paper and forming the tobacco portion into a rod shape by wrapping the filter body into a rod shape, and by winding the filter portion and the tobacco portion over the entire circumference with a tipping paper member so as to bond both the filter portion and the tobacco portion in a state where the ends are adjacent to each other.
For example, as shown in patent document 1, conventionally, flavor capsules have been introduced into a filter body for a cigarette, and the flavor capsules are broken with fingers at the time of use, so that the flavor of the content liquid is enjoyed at the time of smoking, and the smell of the cigarette butt is masked after extinguishing a fire. Details of the perfume capsule are described in patent document 2, for example.
In addition to the cigarettes described above, there are also smoking articles such as cigars and cigarillos in which a tip of an aerosol-generating rod containing a tobacco material is burned to generate a smoke, and there are also a large number of smoking articles in which an aerosol-generating rod containing a tobacco material, a flavor component, and an aerosol base material such as glycerin is heated without being burned to generate a flavor component. As a method of heating without combustion, there are heating methods using resistance, IH, chemical change, or phase change, and the like, depending on the required level.
Aerosol-generating rods comprise tobacco rods formed into rods by wrapping dry tobacco leaves with cigarette paper. In addition, it also includes wrapping dried tobacco leaves with tobacco sheets and making tobacco rods in the shape of rods; a tobacco rod or the like is produced by impregnating a base material other than tobacco leaves with an aerosol source such as glycerin and a flavor component, wrapping the base material with paper, and forming the rod-shaped tobacco rod or the like. In any shape, the aerosol-generating rod is generally cylindrical, and the filter portions are often arranged side by side at one end and wrapped with a tipping paper and connected.
Smoking articles that generate a flavor component by heating an aerosol-generating rod without combustion are disclosed in, for example, patent documents 3 and 4.

Detailed Description
[ embodiment ]
An embodiment of a cigarette as an example of a smoking article will be described. Note that the smoking article includes: cigarettes, leaf cigarettes, hand cigarettes, cigarillos, smoking devices (electronic tobacco) capable of absorbing tobacco flavor by heating tobacco with a heater or steaming tobacco with steam, smoking devices capable of absorbing tobacco flavor by heating tobacco with a carbon heat source or the like, non-heating type smoking devices capable of absorbing tobacco flavor, and the like.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, the cigarette 11 includes: an aerosol-generating rod 14 including a tobacco shred 12 (tobacco leaves, tobacco) and a wrapping paper 13 wound around the tobacco shred 12; a filter portion 15 disposed adjacent to the aerosol-generating rod 14; and a joint paper member 16 wound around the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15 so as to straddle and connect the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15. In the cigarette 11, a central axis C may be defined which passes through the centre of the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the centre of the filter portion 15.
The filter portion 15 includes: a filter body 17 made in a cylindrical shape; a filter wrapper 21 wrapped around the filter body 17; a capsule member 23 which is located at a position embedded in the filter portion 15 (in the filter body 17) and holds the content liquid containing the flavor in the film 22; and an adhesive 24 that bonds the filter body 17 and the capsule member 23.
The tab paper member 16 of the packing filter portion 15 may or may not have a plurality of ventilation holes in a part of the outer periphery thereof. When the vent holes are provided, the number of the vent holes may be, for example, 10 to 40. In this case, the plurality of vent holes are arranged in a ring shape so as to be aligned in a row on the outer peripheral portion of the tab paper member 16 of the package, for example, the filter portion 15. The plurality of vent holes are formed at substantially regular intervals. By providing a plurality of ventilation holes, air is taken into the filter portion 15 from the ventilation holes during smoking. The mainstream smoke is thinned by the outside air from the ventilation holes, so that the product design of the expected tar value can be realized.
As shown in fig. 2, the cigarette 11 has: an aerosol-generating rod 14 including a tobacco shred 12 and a wrapping paper 13 wound around the tobacco shred 12; a filter portion 15; and a tipping paper member 16 wound around the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15 so as to straddle and connect the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15.
The capsule member 23 is embedded in the filter body 17. There may be 1 capsule member 23 or a plurality thereof (for example, 2 to 10 capsule members) in the filter portion 15. The capsule member 23 is provided on or near the central axis C of the filter portion 15. The capsule member 23 is located at a position shifted by 15mm in the direction of the central axis C from the suction end 26 of the filter portion 15 toward the aerosol-generating rod 14 or on the side closer to the suction end 26 than the position shifted by 15 mm. More preferably, the capsule member 23 is located closer to the suction end 26 side than a position shifted by 10mm in the direction of the central axis C from the suction end 26 of the filter portion 15 toward the aerosol-generating rod 14. It is further preferred that the capsule member 23 is located closer to the suction end 26 side than the position moved 7mm in the direction of the central axis C from the suction end 26 of the filter portion 15 to the aerosol-generating rod 14. By adopting such a configuration, even when the user bites the capsule member 23 not only with fingers but also with teeth at the time of smoking, the capsule member 23 is easily broken, and the flavor generation source approaches the mouthpiece end, so that the smoker can enjoy a strong flavor feeling.
The capsule member 23 is composed of the film 22 and a content liquid which is contained in the film 22 and contains a perfume. The film 22 may be made of, for example, starch, dextrin, polysaccharides, agar, gellan gum, gelatin, various natural gelling agents, glycerin, sorbitol, calcium chloride, etc., and may further contain a perfume or a coloring material. It is preferable that the capsule member 23 is colored so as to be recognizable when the smoker squeezes the capsule member 23 even if the capsule member 23 is surrounded by the opaque filter wrapping paper 21 and the tipping paper member 16, and the film 22 preferably contains a coloring material such as blue No. 1. When the film 22 of the capsule member 23 contains a hydrophilic material, it can be said that the film is made of a material which is weakened by water absorption.
As the flavoring agent of the content liquid, any flavoring agent used in smoking articles such as menthol and plant essential oil can be used. Examples of the main flavor include menthol, tobacco extracts, natural plant flavors (for example, cinnamon, sage, vanilla (herb), chamomile, kudzu, dichroa, clove (clove), lavender, cardamom, clove (チョウジ), nutmeg, bergamot, geranium, honey essence, lemon, orange, cinnamon, caraway, jasmine, ginger, coriander, vanilla extracts, spearmint, mint (peppermint), cinnamon (cassia), coffee, Celery (Celery), caraway, sandalwood, cacao, ylang, fennel, anise, licorice, carob bean pod, plum extract, peach extract, etc.), sugars (for example, glucose, fructose, isomerized sugar, caramel, etc.), cocoa types (powder, extract, etc.), esters (for example, isoamyl acetate, isoamyl propionate, butyric acid, linalyl acetate, etc.), and the like, Ketones (e.g., menthone, ionone, damascone (damasconones), ethyl maltol, etc.), alcohols (e.g., geraniol, linalool, anethole, eugenol, etc.), aldehydes (e.g., vanillin, benzaldehyde, anisaldehyde, etc.), lactones (e.g., γ -undecalactone, γ -nonalactone, etc.), animal perfumes (e.g., musk, ambergris, civet, castoreum), hydrocarbons (e.g., limonene, pinene, etc.). These perfumes may be used alone or in combination.
As the solvent of the content liquid, a solvent suitable for perfume can be used, and medium-chain fatty acid triglyceride (MCT) (specifically, tricaprylin/tricaprin), propylene glycol, water, ethanol, and the like can be used. The content liquid may further contain other additives such as other solvents, pigments, emulsifiers, viscosity increasing agents, and the like.
The method for producing the capsule member 23 is not particularly limited, and if, for example, a dropping method is used, the capsule member 23 having the seamless coating film 22 can be produced. In this method, the content liquid is ejected from the inner nozzle and the liquid coating material is ejected from the outer nozzle simultaneously by using the double nozzles, whereby the coating liquid can be contained without a seam.
The capsule member 23 may have a shape of, for example, a sphere or a cylinder, and here, the sphere also includes any shape of a sphere having a substantially circular cross section and an ellipsoid having an elliptical cross section. The capsule member 23 preferably has the shape of a sphere having a substantially circular cross section. The capsule member 23 may have a diameter of, for example, 1.0 to 8.0mm in the case of a spherical body having a substantially circular cross section, a maximum diameter of, for example, 2.0 to 8.0mm and a minimum diameter of, for example, 1.0 to 7.0mm in the case of an ellipsoidal body, and a diameter of, for example, 1.0 to 8.0mm and a height of, for example, 1.0 to 8.0mm in the case of a cylindrical body. When a spherical capsule member is used in a general-purpose cigarette, a capsule having a diameter of 7.5 to 8.0mm smaller than the diameter of a general-purpose cigarette or a filter portion should be used. When a spherical capsule member is used in a general-purpose cigarette, a capsule member having a diameter of 3.0mm to 4.5mm is preferably used. When the diameter of the capsule is too small, the following problems may be mentioned: the amount of the flavor applied to the cigarette is reduced, and the satisfaction given by the flavor is reduced; it is difficult for a smoker to observe the existence of the capsule when breaking the capsule. When the diameter of the capsule is too large, the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the capsule to the cross-sectional area of the filter body becomes large, and therefore, the ventilation resistance of the filter portion when the capsule is not broken becomes too large, which makes it difficult for a smoker to feel suction.
The filter body 17 may be formed of a filter material of cellulose acetate tow (cellulose acetate tow) as in a general filter cigarette. The filter body 17 may be formed of only a filter material of acetate tow, or may be formed of a filter material of acetate tow and a filter wrapping paper 21 wrapped around the filter material. In the case where the filter portion 15 includes a plurality of filter bodies 17, the filter body 17 on the tobacco shred 12 side and the filter body 17 on the suction side may be made of the same material and structure or may be made of different materials and structures.
The acetate fiber tow may have, for example, a single fiber fineness of 1.9 to 12.0(g/9000m), a total fineness of 10000 to 44000(g/9000m), a fiber number of 830 to 23500 (fibers), and an air flow resistance of 100 to 600(mmH2O/120 mm). The filament fineness, total fineness, and number of fibers are designed so that the fluorescence can achieve a target value of ventilation resistance according to a set circumference (14.0-26.0 (mm)) of the filter body. A plasticizer such as triacetin may be added to the acetate tow, the plasticizer may be added in an amount of 5 to 12 wt% based on the weight of the acetate tow, and when activated carbon is dispersed and added between fibers of the acetate tow, the plasticizer may be added in an amount of 2 to 12 wt% based on the weight of the acetate tow.
The filter portion 15 has a circumference of, for example, about 14 to 26mm, and may have a length of, for example, 17 to 40mm as in a conventional filter.
The aerosol generating rod 14 is composed of the tobacco shred 12 and the tobacco wrapping paper 13 wound therearound, and may have a circumference of, for example, about 14 to 26mm and a length of, for example, 20 to 70mm, as in the case of the ordinary cigarette 11.
The adhesive 24 is provided over the entire length of the filter portion 15 in the longitudinal direction (the direction of the center axis C). The adhesive 24 is provided in a linear shape along the central axis C of the filter portion 15 on or near the central axis C of the filter portion 15. Since the capsule member 23 is also positioned on or near the central axis C, a part of the adhesive 24 is positioned in a projection cross section of the capsule member 23 with respect to the direction of the central axis C. The adhesive 24 bonds together the capsule member 23 and the filter body 17, which are also located on the central axis C.
The adhesive 24 is partially disposed in an arc shape so as to follow the outer shape of the capsule member 23. The adhesive 24 is made of a thermoplastic resin (hot melt adhesive). The adhesive 24 is liquefied at a high temperature of 100 to 200 ℃ when applied to the filter portion 15. However, the adhesive 24 is completely solid at the time of product shipment. In the manufacturing line of the filter portion 15, the adhesive 24 is continuously applied to the filter tow in a straight line at a ratio of 10 to 50mg per 120mm length on average in the longitudinal direction of the filter body 17. As shown in FIG. 3, the adhesive 24 may cover 1/20-1/3 of the total surface area of the capsule member 23. On the other hand, the area covering the surface of the capsule member 23 is desirably set to 1/2 or less, for example. If 1/2 or more of the surface area of the capsule member 23 is covered with the adhesive 24, the adhesive 24 functions as a kind of paint, and therefore the capsule member 23 becomes too hard and is hard to be broken with fingers.
The fragrance may be uniformly added to the adhesive 24. It is considered that the appropriate amount of the perfume when these perfume components are uniformly contained in the adhesive 24 is set to an amount at which deterioration of the function of the adhesive 24 does not occur. In order to add flavor to the mainstream smoke of the cigarette 11 (smoking article), the amount of flavor uniformly contained in the adhesive 24 may be adjusted to be increased or decreased as appropriate.
These perfume components may be directly dispersed in the adhesive 24, or these perfume components may be combined with an inclusion body such as dextrin, α -cyclodextrin, or β -cyclodextrin and dispersed in the adhesive 24. By adopting such a method, the adhesive can be dispersed in the adhesive 24, and the influence on the adhesive force of the adhesive 24 can be reduced.
Examples of the flavor to be added to the adhesive 24 include the following flavors. Examples of these include anisole, acetophenone, acetylpyrazine, 2-acetylthiazole, alfalfa extract, amyl alcohol, amyl butyrate, trans-anethole, star anise oil, apple juice, creuma oil, beeswax absolute (beeswax absolute), benzaldehyde, Benzoin resin (Benzoin resinoid), benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, benzyl phenylacetate, benzyl propionate, 2, 3-butanedione, 2-butanol, butyl butyrate, butyric acid, caramel, cardamom oil, carob absolute (carob absolute), beta-carotene, radish juice, L-carvone, beta-carotene, cinnamon oil, cedar wood oil, celery seed oil, chamomile oil, cinnamaldehyde, cinnamic acid, cinnamyl alcohol, cinnamyl cinnamate, citronella oil, DL-citronellol, sage extract, cacao, coffee, cocksco oil, caraway oil, cumin oil, and the like, Artemisia annua oil, delta-decalactone, gamma-decalactone, capric acid, dill oil, 3, 4-dimethyl-1, 2-cyclopentanedione, 4, 5-dimethyl-3-hydroxy-2, 6-dihydrofuran-2-one, 3, 7-dimethyl-6-octenoic acid, 2, 3-dimethylpyrazine, 2, 5-dimethylpyrazine, 2, 6-dimethylpyrazine, ethyl 2-methylbutyrate, ethyl acetate, ethyl butyrate, ethyl caproate, ethyl isovalerate, ethyl lactate, ethyl laurate, ethyl levulinate, ethyl maltol, ethyl caprylate, ethyl oleate, ethyl palmitate, ethyl phenylacetate, ethyl propionate, ethyl stearate, ethyl valerate, ethyl vanillin glucoside, ethyl vanillin, dill oil, 3, 4-dimethyl-1, 2-cyclopentanedione, ethyl butyrate, ethyl laurate, ethyl levulinate, ethyl maltol, ethyl caprylate, ethyl oleate, ethyl palmitate, ethyl phenylacetate, ethyl propionate, ethyl stearate, ethyl valerate, ethyl vanillin, glucoside of ethyl vanillin, and glucose, 2-ethyl-3, (5 or 6) -dimethylpyrazine, 5-methyl-3-hydroxy-4-methyl-2 (5H) -furanone, 2-ethyl-3-methylpyrazine, eucalyptol, Fenugreek absolute (Fenugreek absolute), caragana absolute (bloom absolute), gentian infusion (gentiopic root infusion), geraniol, geranyl acetate, grape juice, guaiacol, guava extract, gamma-heptolactone, gamma-caprolactone, hexanoic acid, cis-3-hexen-1-ol, hexyl acetate, hexanol, phenyl hexyl acetate, honey, 4-hydroxy-3-pentenoate, 4-hydroxy-4- (3-hydroxy-1-butenyl) -3,5, 5-trimethyl-2-cyclohexan-1-one, 4- (p-hydroxyphenyl) -2-butanone, sodium 4-hydroxyundecanoate, Echinacea absolute (immurtelle absolute), beta-ionone, isoamyl acetate, isoamyl butyrate, isoamyl phenylacetate, isobutyl acetate, isobutyl phenylacetate, jasmonate absolute (jasmine absolute), coconut tincture, laudane fat, lemon oil free of terpenes, licorice extract, linalool, linalyl acetate, angelica archangelica oil (ロページ root oil), maltol, maple syrup, menthol (L-menthol), menthone, L-menthyl acetate, p-methoxybenzaldehyde, methyl-2-pyrrolidone, methyl anthranilate, methyl phenylacetate, methyl salicylate, 4' -methylacetophenone, methyl acetate, methyl salicylate, and mixtures thereof, Methylcyclopentenone, 3-methylpentanoic acid, mimosa absolute (mimosa absolute), molasses, myristic acid, nerol, nerolidol, gamma-nonalactone, myristica oil, delta-octalactone, caprylic aldehyde, caprylic acid, neroli oil, orange oil, orris oil, palmitic acid, peppermint oil, petitgrain oil (petitgrain oil paraguay), phenethyl alcohol, phenylethyl acetate, phenylacetic acid, piperonal, plum extract, propenyl guaethol, propyl acetate, 3-propyleneiminobenzofuran, dried plum fruit juice, pyruvic acid, grape extract, rose oil, rum, sage oil, sandalwood oil, spearmint oil, storax absolute (styrax absolute), calendula oil, tea distillate, alpha-terpineol, terpinyl acetate, 5,6,7, 8-tetrahydroquinoxaline, 1,5,5, 9-tetramethyl-13-oxoheterocycle (8.3.0.0.9)) and the like, 2,3,5, 6-tetramethylpyrazine, thyme oil, tomato extract, 2-tridecanone, trimethyl citrate, 4- (2,6, 6-trimethyl-1, 3-cyclohexenyl) 2-buten-4-one, 2,6, 6-trimethyl-2-cyclohexene-1, 4-dione, 4- (2,6, 6-trimethyl-1, 3-cyclohexadienyl) 2-buten-4-one, 2,3, 5-trimethylpyrazine, γ -undecalactone, γ -valerolactone, vanillin, veratraldehyde, Violet leaf absolute (Violet leaf absolute).
These perfumes may be used alone, or a plurality of them may be mixed for achieving the desired fragrance.
The flavoring dispersed in the adhesive 24 is fixed in the adhesive 24 before smoking, and hardly volatilizes out of the adhesive 24. On the other hand, during smoking, mainstream smoke passes near the adhesive 24. The flavorant fixed in the adhesive 24 is volatilized in the mainstream smoke by the heat of the mainstream smoke and/or the moisture (vapor) contained in the mainstream smoke. This makes it possible to provide a difference between the flavor of the cigarette 11 (smoking article) before smoking and the flavor of the mainstream smoke during smoking, and thus provides a surprise to the smoker. In addition, a predetermined time may be required from the start of smoking until the flavorant fixed to the adhesive 24 volatilizes in mainstream smoke, that is, a retention time interval (time lag) may be set until the flavorant fixed to the adhesive 24 volatilizes in mainstream smoke from the start of smoking.
The binder 24 may be uniformly mixed with a pigment such as a dye or a pigment. As such a coloring matter, for example, an edible coloring matter can be used. Examples of the food color include: natural pigments such as gardenia yellow pigment, annatto pigment, allspice pigment, purple cabbage pigment, monascus pigment, gardenia blue pigment, and the like, synthetic pigments such as edible red No. 2, edible red No. 3, edible red No. 102, edible red No. 104, edible red No. 105, edible yellow No. 4, edible yellow No. 5, edible blue No. 1, edible blue No. 2, and the like.
The operation of the cigarette 11 of the present embodiment will be explained. In the cigarette 11 of the present embodiment, the cigarette is ignited at the tip of the aerosol-generating rod 14, and the mouthpiece end 26 of the filter portion 15 is gripped by the mouth and sucked, whereby the user can enjoy the tobacco flavor. At this time, the flavor contained in the content liquid of the capsule member 23 or the flavor volatilized from the adhesive 24 is mixed in the mainstream smoke, and a predetermined flavor is exhibited in the oral cavity of the user. When the capsule member 23 is crushed, the user can easily crush the capsule member 23 at a desired timing in order to hinder the movement of the capsule member 23, thereby enjoying a varying fragrance.
Next, a manufacturing process of the cigarette 11 as an example of the smoking article of the present embodiment will be described. Aerosol-generating rod 14 is formed by winding paper 13 around tobacco shred 12 as usual. On the other hand, in the manufacturing line of the filter portion 15, the manufacturing device of the filter portion 15 continuously supplies the adhesive 24 in a straight line (line shape) to a position near the central axis C of the filter portion 15 before completely gathering the filter main body 17 into a cylindrical shape. At this time, the adhesive is heated to 100 to 200 ℃ and is in a molten state. Further, the manufacturing apparatus of the filter portion 15 supplies the capsule member 23 to the vicinity of the central axis C of the filter body 17 in the state where the adhesive 24 is supplied as described above. Further, the filter portion 15 is completely formed into a cylindrical shape, and then the filter portion 15 is left at room temperature, whereby the adhesive 24 is cured. Thereby, the position of the capsule member 23 relative to the filter body 17 is completely fixed.
Next, a movement prevention function of the capsule member 23 in the cigarette 11 as an example of the smoking article of the present embodiment will be described. The inventors performed a test of "biting the capsule member with the teeth and consciously pushing out the capsule member 23 in the oral cavity" on 7 subjects using the cigarette 11 of the present embodiment. The cigarette 11 of the present embodiment was used in the test, and as a comparative example, a cigarette in which the conventional capsule member 23 and the filter body 17 were not bonded was used. Thus, in the conventional cigarette of the comparative example, 1 of the subjects 7 can push out the capsule member 23 in the oral cavity. On the other hand, in the cigarette 11 of the present embodiment, among the subjects 7, there is no one who can push out the capsule member 23 in the oral cavity.
In the present test, a test was performed to "intentionally push out the capsule member 23 in the oral cavity", and therefore, in the comparative example, 1 out of 7 subjects can push out the capsule member 23 in the oral cavity. On the other hand, it is considered that the possibility of pushing out the capsule member 23 in the oral cavity is extremely close to zero in the comparative example, if the capsule member is in a normal use state. According to the present embodiment, even when the capsule member 23 is intentionally pushed out, the capsule member 23 cannot be moved and pushed out from the filter portion 15, and therefore, it can be said that the cigarette 11 with extremely low possibility of movement of the capsule member 23 can be realized.
According to the present embodiment, the smoking article includes the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15 provided adjacent to the aerosol-generating rod 14, and the filter portion 15 includes the filter main body 17, the capsule member 23 that holds the flavorant therein and is embedded in the filter main body 17, and the adhesive 24 that bonds the filter main body 17 and the capsule member 23.
Generally, the fibers constituting the filter portion 15 extend in the axial direction (the central axis C direction) of the filter portion 15. Therefore, if an external force is applied to the capsule member 23, it is rare that the capsule member 23 moves away in the extending direction of the fiber. However, since it is rare that such an event occurs, the manufacturer side hardly considers such an event to be a problem. According to the above configuration, the capsule member 23 is fixed to the filter body 17 by the adhesive 24, whereby the capsule member 23 can be prevented from being positionally displaced in the filter portion 15. This prevents the capsule member 23 from moving away and being not easily broken, thereby improving convenience for the user.
The adhesive 24 is a thermoplastic resin. According to this configuration, since the resin is completely solid in the product shipped state, the capsule member 23 can be prevented from moving in the filter portion 15, and a smoking article in which the capsule member 23 is easily broken can be realized. In addition, since moisture is not discharged from the adhesive 24 during curing, the capsule member 23 can be prevented from being weakened by water.
The coating film of the capsule member 23 is made of a hydrophilic material, that is, a material which is weakened by water absorption. In particular, the capsule member 23 has a coating film formed of a material selected from the group consisting of starch, dextrin, polysaccharides, agar, gellan gum, gelatin, natural gelling agents, glycerin, sorbitol, calcium chloride, and a mixture thereof. According to these configurations, by using a moisture-free adhesive such as a thermoplastic adhesive, the capsule member 23 is not weakened and the capsule member 23 can be prevented from being hardly broken without using a moisture-containing adhesive such as a vinyl acetate paste.
The capsule member 23 is located near the central axis C of the filter portion 15, and the adhesive 24 extends linearly along the central axis C near the central axis C of the filter portion 15. According to this configuration, even when the position of the capsule member 23 is displaced in the direction of the central axis C due to variations in manufacturing, the adhesive 24 extends linearly along the central axis C, so that a small amount of displacement of the capsule member 23 can be allowed, and the capsule member 23 can be reliably fixed to the filter portion 15.
The capsule member 23 is positioned in the vicinity of the center axis C of the filter portion 15, and a part of the adhesive 24 is positioned in a projection section of the capsule member 23 with respect to the direction of the center axis C. With this configuration, the adhesive 24 can be disposed at a position overlapping the capsule member 23. This prevents the adhesive 24 from being applied to a position beyond the capsule member 23, thereby preventing a problem that the adhesion between the capsule member 23 and the filter portion 15 cannot be smoothly performed.
The adhesive 24 contains a fragrance. According to this configuration, since the adhesive 24 can contain the flavor, it is not necessary to additionally provide the flavor-containing cotton or the like in the filter portion 15. Thus, various flavors can be added to the mainstream smoke, the degree of freedom in product design can be improved, and the manufacturing process can be simplified and the manufacturing cost can be reduced as compared with the case where a cotton yarn or the like containing a perfume is additionally provided.
The adhesive 24 contains a pigment. With this configuration, the adhesive 24 can be colored, and the cured portion of the adhesive 24 can be decorated. That is, the color of the portion of the filter portion 15 to which the adhesive 24 is applied is generally almost the same as the color of the portion of the filter portion 15 to which the adhesive 24 is not applied. However, in the filter portion 15 alone, the portion to which the adhesive 24 is applied is harder than the other portions. According to the above configuration, the aesthetic appearance can be positively improved at the position where the adhesive 24 is applied, and the degree of freedom in designing the smoking article can be improved.
The capsule member 23 is located closer to the suction end 26 side than a position moved 15mm or 10mm in the direction of the central axis C from the suction end 26 of the filter portion 15 to the aerosol-generating rod 14. With this configuration, the capsule member 23 can be disposed close to the mouthpiece end 26, and flavor can be added to the mainstream smoke at a position close to the mouth of the user. This makes it possible to dispose the capsule member 23 at a position where the flavor is most efficiently delivered to the oral cavity of the user. Further, in the present embodiment, since the capsule member 23 and the filter portion 15 are bonded together by the adhesive 24, even when such a configuration is adopted, the occurrence of a problem that the capsule member 23 falls off from the filter portion 15 can be prevented.
(first modification)
Next, a first modification of the smoking article (cigarette) of the embodiment will be described. In the first modification, the capsule member 23 differs from the above-described embodiment in the material of the film 22 and the type of the adhesive 24, but the other portions are common to the above-described embodiment. Hereinafter, the description will be mainly given of portions different from the above embodiments, and the description of portions common to the above embodiments will be omitted.
The capsule member 23 (the film 22) is formed of a resin material (a synthetic resin material). More specifically, the capsule member 23 is formed of, for example, a polyethylene resin material, but may be formed of other types of resin materials (synthetic resin materials) such as polypropylene, polyurethane, and polyvinyl chloride. The melting point of the capsule member 23 made of polypropylene is, for example, 104 to 120 ℃ lower than the melting point of the thermoplastic resin (hot melt adhesive), i.e., 150 to 180 ℃. Therefore, if a thermoplastic resin (hot melt adhesive) is used as the adhesive 24, a problem may occur in that the capsule member 23 is perforated when it is melted.
Unlike the embodiment, the adhesive 24 of the present modification is composed of an aqueous dispersion adhesive. The aqueous dispersion adhesive exhibits adhesive ability by evaporation of water at normal temperature (room temperature). In the present embodiment, as the adhesive 24, for example, a vinyl acetate resin emulsion adhesive among aqueous dispersion adhesives can be suitably used.
The arrangement of the adhesive 24, the mixing of the fragrance with the adhesive 24, and the mixing of the coloring matter with the adhesive 24 are the same as those in the above embodiment. According to the present modification, since the capsule member 23 is formed of a resin material, the strength of the capsule member 23 is improved, and it is possible to prevent troubles such as the capsule member 23 being unintentionally broken during conveyance.
According to this modification, the adhesive 24 is an aqueous dispersion adhesive. With this configuration, an inexpensive and safe adhesive can be used as the adhesive 24. Therefore, the adhesive 24 is in a liquid state from the beginning, and therefore, heating for melting the adhesive 24 is not necessary. Therefore, when the capsule member 23 is formed of a resin material or the like, the adhesive 24 made of a thermoplastic resin (hot melt adhesive) is heated and melted, and when the adhesive is applied to the filter opening portion 15 and the capsule member 23, the capsule member 23 can be prevented from being perforated by heat.
The film 22 of the capsule member 23 is formed of a resin material. According to this configuration, when the aqueous dispersion adhesive is used as the adhesive 24, the capsule member 23 does not absorb moisture emitted (volatilized) from the aqueous dispersion adhesive, and the capsule member 23 can be prevented from being easily broken due to the moisture.
(second modification)
Next, a second modification of the smoking article (cigarette) of the embodiment will be described with reference to fig. 4. In the cigarette 11 of the second modification, a second filter portion 31 is provided in addition to the filter portion 15, which is different from the above-described embodiment in this respect, and the other portions are common to the above-described embodiment. Hereinafter, portions different from the above-described embodiments will be mainly described, and portions common to the above-described embodiments will not be described.
As shown in fig. 4, the cigarette 11 comprises: an aerosol-generating rod 14 including a tobacco shred 12 (tobacco leaves, tobacco) and a wrapping paper 13 wound around the tobacco shred 12; a filter portion 15 provided on the same axis as the aerosol-generating rod 14; a second filter portion 31 disposed on the same axis as the aerosol-generating rod 14 at a position between the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15; and a joint paper member 16 that is wound on the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15 so as to span the aerosol-generating rod 14, the second filter portion 31, and the filter portion 15 and join them.
The filter portion 15 is different in that the length of the central axis C is about half of the length of the first embodiment, and the other portions are the same as those of the above-described embodiment. The filter portion 15 is provided with a capsule member 23 as in the above-described embodiment.
The second filter portion 31 is configured in the same manner as the filter portion 15 of the present modification. The second filter portion 31 is different from the filter portion 15 in that it does not have the capsule member 23, and the other portions are the same as the filter portion 15. In the present modification, the second filter unit 31 is formed of 1, but may be formed of 2 or more.
According to the present modification, at least 1 or more second filter portions 31 are provided at positions between the aerosol generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15. According to this configuration, even in the cigarette 11 using a multi-stage filter, the capsule member 23 can be prevented from moving relative to the filter portion 15, and a cigarette 11 in which the capsule member 23 is easily broken can be realized.
(third modification)
Next, a third modification of the smoking article (cigarette) of the embodiment will be described with reference to fig. 5. In the third modification, the position where the capsule member 23 is provided is different from that of the above embodiment, but the other portions are common to the above embodiment. Hereinafter, portions different from the above-described embodiments will be mainly described, and portions common to the above-described embodiments will not be described.
The filter portion 15 is configured in the same manner as the embodiment except that the position where the capsule member 23 is provided is different. In the present modification, the capsule member 23 is provided closer to the suction end 26 than the position moved 20mm from the suction end in the direction of the center axis C. In other words, the capsule member 23 is provided at an intermediate portion in the central axis C direction (longitudinal direction) of the filter portion 15.
Even in the case where the capsule member 23 is provided at the intermediate portion in the longitudinal direction of the filter portion 15 as in the present modification, the adhesive 24 prevents the capsule member 23 from moving relative to the filter portion 15, and the user's convenience can be improved.
(fourth modification)
Next, a fourth modification of the smoking article of the embodiment will be described with reference to fig. 6. In the fourth modification, the smoking article 41 is not a cigarette, but belongs to the field of so-called electronic cigarettes in which the aerosol generating rod 14 is heated by a so-called electric heater or the like. Hereinafter, portions different from the above-described embodiments will be mainly described, and portions common to the above-described embodiments will not be described. Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view of the lower half of the rod member 46 of the smoking article 41 and the main body 45 cut by a plane including the central axis C.
The smoking article 41 has: a main body 45 having a battery 42, an electric heating portion 43, and a recess 44; and a rod member 46 detachably inserted into the recess 44 of the main body 45. The recess 44 is provided in a part of the case 45A of the main body 45. The battery 42 can be charged and discharged. The electric heating portion 43 is a so-called heater having a heating element provided so as to surround the recess portion 44. The heater element of the electric heater 43 heats the aerosol-generating rod 14, and emits the flavor from the filler 61 of the aerosol-generating rod 14 into the surrounding air. The heating temperature of the aerosol-generating rod 14 by the electric heating unit 43 is, for example, 400 ℃ or lower, which is much lower than the combustion temperature of a conventional type of cigarette that is ignited by 700 to 800 ℃. By heating at such a low temperature, the amount of mainstream smoke generated by the aerosol-generating rod 14 is smaller than that of the cigarette 11 and the like of the embodiment. Therefore, when the filter function in the filter portion 15 of the present modification is lower than that in the filter portion 15 of the cigarette 11 of the embodiment, the mainstream smoke amount shared in the mouth of the smoker is more appropriate. In the present modification, the length of the filter portion 15 in the direction of the central axis C is shorter than that of the above-described embodiment in order to reduce mainstream smoke filtration by the filter portion 15. The length of the filter body disposed in the entire length of the filter portion can be shortened, and the cylindrical portion and other portions having a low filtration rate of mainstream smoke can be disposed at the remaining positions.
The rod member 46 is formed into a cigarette shape. The lever member 46 has: a cylindrical portion 51; an aerosol-generating rod 14 provided at one end 51A of the cylindrical portion 51; a filter portion 15 provided at the other end portion 51B opposite to the one end portion 51A of the cylindrical portion 51; a second filter portion 31 disposed on the same axis as the aerosol-generating rod 14 at a position between the aerosol-generating rod 14 and the filter portion 15; and a joint paper member 16 connecting the cylindrical portion 51, the aerosol-generating rod 14, and the filter portion 15.
The cylindrical portion 51 is formed in a cylindrical shape by, for example, a thick paper having a thickness of 100 to 300 μm, and has a predetermined rigidity. The joint paper member 16 is supported by the rigid cylindrical portion 51, and even when the lever member 46 is pressed in the direction of the central axis C, the joint paper member 16 is not broken in the direction of the central axis C. The joint paper member 16 and the cylindrical portion 51 have a plurality of vent holes 53 in a part of the outer periphery thereof. The plurality of vent holes 53 penetrate the joint paper member 16 and the cylindrical portion 51. The number of the vent holes 53 is, for example, 10 to 40. The plurality of vent holes 53 are arranged in a row, for example, in parallel and annularly on the outer periphery of the cylindrical portion. The plurality of vent holes 53 are formed at regular intervals.
The aerosol-generating rod 14 has: the cut tobacco 12 (cut tobacco leaf, tobacco), cut tobacco sheet folded or wrapped in a circumferential shape, a filler 61 containing a filler other than tobacco or the like, gathered by giving wrinkles to the cut tobacco sheet, and the wrapping paper 54 wrapped around the filler 61. The roll paper 54 may be paper, and is formed of paper to which a metal foil having good thermal conductivity, such as an aluminum foil or a stainless steel foil, is bonded.
The filter portion 15 has substantially the same configuration as the other embodiments, except that the length of the filter body 17 in the direction of the central axis C is short. The filter portion 15 includes: a filter body 17 made in a cylindrical shape; a filter wrapper 21 wrapped around the filter body 17; a capsule member 23 which is located at a position embedded in the filter portion 15 (in the filter body 17) and holds the flavor-containing content liquid in the film 22; and an adhesive 24 that bonds the filter body 17 to the capsule member 23. The capsule member 23 is located closer to the suction end 26 side than the position moved 10mm in the direction of the central axis C from the suction end 26 of the filter portion 15 to the aerosol-generating rod 14. More preferably, the capsule member 23 is located closer to the suction end 26 side than a position shifted by 6mm in the direction of the central axis C from the suction end 26 of the filter portion 15 toward the aerosol-generating rod 14.
The second filter portion 31 is different from the filter portion 15 in that it does not have the capsule member 23, and the other portions are the same as the filter portion 15. In the present modification, the second filter unit 31 is formed of 1, but may be formed of 2 or more. The filter portions 15 and the second filter portions 31 are joined by a second filter wrapper 62.
The present modification exhibits the same operation as the above embodiment. That is, the user can enjoy the flavor of the smoking article in the oral cavity by sucking directly through the filter portion 15 and the cylindrical portion 51 in a state where the rod member 46 is attached to the main body 45.
According to this modification, the smoking article 41 has an electric heating portion 43 for heating the aerosol-generating rod 14. According to this configuration, similarly, in the smoking article 41 belonging to the field of so-called electronic cigarettes, the fragility of the capsule member 23 can be improved, and the convenience of the user can be improved. In particular, when the configuration using the electric heating unit 43 is employed, the length of the filter body 17 in the filter portion 15 tends to be short in order to reduce the amount of mainstream smoke. According to the present modification, the movement of the capsule member 23 can also be prevented in the filter body 17 having a short length. In this way, in the smoking article 41 having a short filter body 17 in which the capsule member 23 is highly likely to fall off the filter body 17, the movement of the capsule member can be effectively prevented, which is extremely useful in product design.
The smoking article is not limited to the description of the above embodiment and each modification, and the components may be modified and embodied in the implementation stage without departing from the scope of the invention. Therefore, it is needless to say that the present invention can be applied to a smoking article which enjoys tobacco flavor without heating. Note that, several constituent elements may be deleted from all the constituent elements shown in the embodiments, and it is needless to say that different modifications may be combined with each other as appropriate to constitute one invention.
