Abstract
本公开涉及液晶组合物,包含该液晶组合物的液晶显示元件、液晶显示器,属于液晶显示领域,本公开的液晶组合物包含式I所示的化合物、一种或多种式II所示的化合物、一种或多种式III所示的化合物、以及至少一种可聚合化合物,该液晶组合物兼具低的旋转粘度(γ1)、较大的介电各向异性(Δε)、快速的响应速度。
Description
技术领域
本公开属于液晶显示领域,更具体地,涉及液晶组合物及包含该液晶组合物的液晶显示元件、液晶显示器。
背景技术
早期商用的TFT-LCD产品基本采用了TN显示模式,其最大问题是视角窄。随着产品尺寸的增加,特别是在TV领域的应用,具有广视野角特点的IPS显示模式、VA显示模式依次被开发出来并加以应用,尤其是基于VA显示模式的改进,分别先后在各大公司得到了突破性的发展,这主要取决于VA模式本身所具有的宽视野角、高对比度和无需摩擦配向等优势,再有就是,VA模式显示的对比度对液晶的光学各向异性(△n)、液晶盒的厚度(d)和入射光的波长(λ)依赖度较小,必将使得VA这种模式成为极具前景的显示技术。
但是,VA模式等的显示元件所用的液晶介质,本身并不完美,与正介电各向异性的显示元件相比,其存在介电偏小,响应时间比较慢,驱动电压比较高等缺点,并且会更容易出现显示不良、残像等问题。
目前,应用于显示器件的响应速度优良、各种显示不良得到改善的液晶组合物仍然是人们期望获得的。
发明内容
为了解决现有技术中存在的问题,本发明人等进行了深入研究后惊奇地发现,通过使用本公开的含有后述的式I所示化合物、式II所示化合物以及式III所示化合物的组合的液晶组合物,在应用于液晶显示元件中时,表现出快速的响应速度,且本液晶组合物用于ODF液晶器件的制程,液晶显示器件无不良显示,从而完成了本公开。
本公开的第一个目的在于提供一种液晶组合物,该液晶组合物具低的旋转粘度(γ1)、较大的介电各向异性(Δε)、快速的响应速度。
本公开的第二个目的在于提供一种液晶显示元件,其含有本公开的液晶组合物。该液晶显示元件具有快速的响应速度。
本公开的第三个目的还在于提供一种液晶显示器,其含有本公开的液晶组合物。该液晶显示器具有快速的响应速度。
为达到上述目的,本公开采用下述技术方案:
本公开的液晶组合物包含式I所示的化合物、一种或多种式II所示的化合物、一种或多种式III所示的化合物、以及、至少一种可聚合化合物:

式II中,R1、R2各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基;
式III中,R3、R4各自独立地表示原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基。
本公开的液晶组合物中,对于前述的可聚合化合物,没有任何限定,本领域技术人员能够根据本领域的常识来选择适宜的可聚合化合物。
本公开还提供液晶显示元件,其包含本公开的液晶组合物,所述液晶显示元件为有源矩阵寻址显示元件或者无源矩阵寻址显示元件。
本公开还提供液晶显示器,其包含本公开的液晶组合物,所述液晶显示器为有源矩阵寻址显示器或者无源矩阵寻址显示器。
具体实施方式
[液晶组合物]
本公开的液晶组合物包含式I所示的化合物、一种或多种式II所示的化合物、一种或多种式III所示的化合物、以及、至少一种可聚合化合物。
其中:
式II中,R1、R2各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基;
式III中,R3、R4各自独立地表示原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基。
式II中,作为前述的R1、R2所表示的碳原子数为1-10的烷基,可以列举出例如,甲基、乙基、正丙基、异丙基、正丁基、异丁基、叔丁基、正戊基、异戊基、己基、庚基、辛基、壬基、癸基等。
式III中,作为前述的R3、R4所表示的碳原子数为1-10的烷基,可以列举出例如,甲基、乙基、正丙基、异丙基、正丁基、异丁基、叔丁基、正戊基、异戊基、己基、庚基、辛基、壬基、癸基等。
作为前述的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基,可以列举出例如,甲氧基、乙氧基、正丙氧基、异丙氧基、正丁氧基、异丁氧基、戊氧基、己氧基、庚氧基、辛氧基、壬氧基、癸氧基等。
作为前述的氟取代,可以是单氟取代、二氟取代、三氟取代等,氟取代可以是单个碳原子上的氟取代,也可以是多个碳原子上的氟取代。
作为氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基,可以列举出,前述列举甲氧基、乙氧基、正丙氧基、异丙氧基、正丁氧基、异丁氧基、戊氧基、己氧基、庚氧基、辛氧基、壬氧基、癸氧基等碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基进一步被单氟取代、二氟取代、或者、三氟取代等氟取代后得到的基团。
本公开的液晶组合物中,前述的可聚合化合物优选选自式RM-1至RM-8。
本公开的液晶组合物中,优选地,还包含一种或多种式Ⅳ所示化合物:

R5、R6各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基;并且R5、R6所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2任选被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基取代;
Z1、Z2各自独立地表示单键、-CH2CH2-或-CH2O-;
m、n各自独立地表示0、1或2且m+n≤2。
本公开的液晶组合物中,优选地,前述Ⅳ所示的化合物选自下述式Ⅳ-1至Ⅳ-13所示的化合物组成的组:

R51、R61各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、或者、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基或氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基;并且R51、R61所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2任选被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基取代。
本公开的液晶组合物中,进一步优选地,前述Ⅳ所示的化合物选自下述式Ⅳ-2至Ⅳ-5所示的化合物组成的组:
上述液晶化合物具有大的介电各向异性、适宜的光学各向异性、适当的旋转粘度和适当的K值,可以用于开发具有负介电各向异性的液晶显示器或液晶显示元件。
本公开的液晶组合物中,进一步优选地,前述Ⅳ所示的化合物选自下述式Ⅳ-2和Ⅳ-3所示的化合物组成的组:
上述液晶化合物具有大的K值,高的清亮点,可以用于开发快速响应和较宽温度显示范围的液晶组合物。
本公开的液晶组合物中,进一步优选地,前述Ⅳ所示的化合物选自下述式Ⅳ-4和Ⅳ-5所示的化合物组成的组:
上述液晶化合物具有的旋转粘度γ1,可以用于开发快速响应的液晶组合物。
本公开的液晶组合物中,优选地,以可聚合化合物之外的所有成分的总含量为100质量%,前述式Ⅰ所示的化合物的总质量含量为1-65%;前述式Ⅱ所示的化合物的总质量含量为1-15%;可聚合化合物在液晶总质量%基础上进行添加,前述式Ⅲ所示的化合物的总质量含量为1-25%;前述可聚合化合物的添加量为0.01-1%,优选为0.03-0.4%。
本公开的液晶组合物中优选还包含一种或多种式Ⅴ所示化合物:

R7、R8各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基;
本公开的液晶组合物,优选地,前述式Ⅴ所示的化合物选自下述式Ⅴ-1至Ⅴ-3所示的化合物组成的组:

R7、R8各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基;式Ⅴ-1中,R7、R8中的一者表示丙基时另一者不表示乙烯基。
本公开的液晶组合物优选还包含一种或多种式Ⅵ所示化合物:

R9、R10各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基;
本公开的液晶组合物中,优选地,前述式Ⅵ所示的化合物选自下述式Ⅵ-1至Ⅵ-3所示的化合物组成的组:

R91、R92、R93、R101、R102、R103各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基;且R92、R102不同时表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基。
[液晶显示元件]
本公开的液晶显示元件包含本公开的液晶组合物,所述液晶显示元件为有源矩阵显示元件或无源矩阵显示元件。
可选的,所述液晶显示元件可以为有源矩阵液晶显示元件。
可选的,所述有源矩阵显示元件可以为例如PSVA-TFT液晶显示元件。
包含本公开的液晶组合物的液晶显示元件具有较快的响应速度、较低的盒厚。
[液晶显示器]
本公开的液晶显示器包含本公开的液晶组合物,所述液晶显示器为有源矩阵显示器或无源矩阵显示器。
可选的,所述液晶显示器可以为有源矩阵液晶显示器。
可选的,所述有源矩阵显示器可以为例如PSVA-TFT液晶显示器。
包含本公开的液晶组合物的液晶显示器具有较快的响应速度、较低的盒厚。
实施例
为了更清楚地说明本公开,下面结合优选实施例对本公开做进一步的说明。本领域技术人员应当理解,下面所具体描述的内容是说明性的而非限制性的,不应以此限制本公开的保护范围。
本说明书中,如无特殊说明,百分比均是指质量百分比,温度为摄氏度(℃),其他符号的具体意义及测试条件如下:
Cp表示液晶清亮点(℃),DSC定量法测试;
Δn表示光学各向异性,no为寻常光的折射率,ne为非寻常光的折射率,测试条件为25±2℃,589nm,阿贝折射仪测试;
Δε表示介电各向异性,Δε=ε//-ε⊥,其中,ε//为平行于分子轴的介电常数,ε⊥为垂直于分子轴的介电常数,测试条件为25±0.5℃,20微米平行盒,INSTEC:ALCT-IR1测试;
γ1表示旋转粘度(mPa·s),测试条件为25±0.5℃,20微米平行盒,INSTEC:ALCT-IR1测试;
K11为扭曲弹性常数,K33为展曲弹性常数,测试条件为:25℃、INSTEC:ALCT-IR1、18微米垂直盒;
液晶组合物的制备方法如下:将各液晶单体按照一定配比称量后放入不锈钢烧杯中,将装有各液晶单体的不锈钢烧杯置于磁力搅拌仪器上加热融化,待不锈钢烧杯中的液晶单体大部份融化后,往不锈钢烧杯中加入磁力转子,将混合物搅拌均匀,冷却到室温后即得液晶组合物。
本公开实施例液晶单体结构用代码表示,液晶环结构、端基、连接基团的代码表示方法见下表1、表2。

将实施例1中的CC-3-V替换为CC-5-V作为对比例1。实施例1与对比例1相比,对比例1常温有晶体析出,介电、折射率性能相差较小,旋转粘度γ1变大,K33略有改变,γ1/K33的比值变大,响应变慢。由此可知,本公开的液晶组合物具有适宜的光学各向异性,适宜的介电各向异性,良好的低温互溶性,快速的响应速度。
对比例2
液晶组合物的配方及相应的性能如下表5所示。

将实施例1中的CPP-3-2替换为CCP-3-1作为对比例2。实施例1与对比例2相比,对比例2的介电、清亮点性能相差较小,但是折射率下降。由此可知,本公开的液晶组合物具有适宜的光学各向异性,较宽的温度显示范围,适宜的介电各向异性。
对比例3
液晶组合物的配方及相应的性能如下表6所示。

将实施例1中的Sc-2O-O4、Sc-2O-O2替换为Sb-4O-O4、Sb-5O-O2作为对比例3。实施例1与对比例3相比,对比例3的折射率降低,清亮点下降,γ1/K33的比值变大,响应变慢。由此可知,本公开的液晶组合物具有适宜的光学各向异性,较宽的温度显示范围,快速的响应速度。

Claims (9)
2.根据权利要求1所述的液晶组合物,其特征在于,所述液晶组合物还包含一种或多种式Ⅳ所示化合物:

R5、R6各自独立地表示碳原子数为1-10的烷基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷基、碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、氟取代的碳原子数为1-10的烷氧基、碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、氟取代的碳原子数为2-10的链烯基、碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基、或者、氟取代的碳原子数为3-8的链烯氧基;并且R5、R6所示基团中任意一个或多个不相连的CH2任选被环戊基、环丁基或环丙基取代;
Z1、Z2各自独立地表示单键、-CH2CH2-或-CH2O-;
m、n各自独立地表示0、1或2且m+n≤2。
8.一种液晶显示元件,其特征在于,包含权利要求1-7任一项所述的液晶组合物,所述液晶显示元件为有源矩阵寻址显示元件或者无源矩阵寻址显示元件。
9.一种液晶显示器,其特征在于,包含权利要求1-7任一项所述的液晶组合物,所述液晶显示器为有源矩阵寻址显示器或者无源矩阵寻址显示器。
