Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及移动打印与扫描设备，此设备用于利用蜂窝网络接收与发送信息并用于扫描纸张上的信息和在纸张上打印信息。此设备也能用于提供利用电子图像生成器扫描的图像。
背景技术
近年来，使用已建成的并已庞大扩展的蜂窝电话网络的新业务的需求显著地增加，这样的需求包括了更先进的硬拷贝业务的可能性。
该业务当今包括利用蜂窝网络发送与接收移动个人计算机中的数据的可能性。个人计算机也能配备与计算机一体化的或与之分开的打印机。市场上可买到的其他硬拷贝业务是由System Innovation研制与制造的以名称“FX1”售出的移动硬拷贝传真设备，此传真设备设计为用于经蜂窝电话网络的传输。
因此，在主要的需求是利用蜂窝网络获得不同类型通信的情况中，当今可利用的解决方案不是非常适合。例如，与打印机和扫描器组合的膝上型计算机当前相当昂贵。而且，这样的组合由于其重量与尺寸对于随身携带不是非常实际的，这样的组合的待机时间也由于所使用的功耗而非常有限。
发明内容
本发明的一个目的是提供一种打印和/或扫描设备，此设备能通过蜂窝网络与其他单元通信和交换信息，而且此设备能以低成本提供许多不同的先进的硬拷贝业务。
本发明的另一目的是提供一种设备，在用户想通过蜂窝网络通信时此设备能克服上述的所有问题。
本发明的还一目的是提供能接入和查找全球计算机网络的一种小的与低成本的打印设备。
利用在单个单元中包括打印机和/或扫描器的打印设备实现了这些目的与其他目的。此设备还包括用于处理此设备中的信息流的微处理器和诸如浏览器等的查找装置，从而，使此打印设备能访问和连到全球计算机网络中的地址。此设备能仅利用打印机与键盘作为人机接口来通过蜂窝网络与其他单元通信。
根据本发明的一种包括单个外壳的打印机，其特征在于：查找和连接装置，用于通过数据或电话网络查找并连接至大量Internet地址；和，控制装置，用于接收并控制在纸上直接打印出在通过基于纸的人机接口联络的地址上所具有的信息。
也有可能将扬声器与光指示信号用于给用户提供信息。然而，不要求LCD显示器，这是一个主要优点，因为这节省了空间与费用。
根据本发明的设备的使用与根据现有技术的现有解决方案相比具有大量的优点。
因此，通过利用本文所述的设备，能提供和利用大量的通信业务，这样的业务包括：下载和打印出在诸如全球网(WWW)的全球计算机网络中可获得的任何信息；接收与发送传真；打印出在用户的邮箱中收到的电子邮件；和建立能由第三方利用蜂窝网络接入的个人自己的服务器等等。

具体实施方式
在图1中，表示打印设备的示意方框图。因此，此图表示控制单元或微处理器101，在此示例中此处理器是可与Intel公司制造的常规486处理器兼容的微处理器。此处理器101经过线路105连到用于由处理器101始发的所有打印操作的打印头103。微处理器101也经过线路109与A/D变换器111连到扫描器107，此扫描器用于扫描要作为传真发送的或存储在与处理器101有关的存储器104中的任何类型的文件。
而且，处理器101也控制用于打印机103与扫描器107的步进电动机，这通过利用线路115控制步进电动器驱动器113来执行，步进电动机驱动器113则分别驱动扫描器电动机和打印机电动机117与119。
还有，微处理器101连到串行总线121，此串行总线也连到键盘123、发光二极管(LED)125和组合的多路复用器与A/D变换器127，其中键盘123用于输入命令给微处理器101，而发光二极管125能由此设备用于传送不同的操作状态给用户。组合的多路复用器与A/D变换器分别通过线路135，137与139连到分别用于扫描器与打印机的反射式传感器129、连到磁头与电池温度传感器131并且连到电池充/放电监视与控制单元133。
单元133用于监视电池和响应所获得的监视输出信号，以便输出用于打印机103的打印速度控制的控制信号。因此，通过使打印速度适应可获得的电池容量，在电池放电或暴露于温度变化之中时，能保持打印输出质量，这又将影响电池的输出容量。
通过以这样一种方式控制同一时间上正在打印的点数获得质量的保持，使得电池充电状态不影响打印输出质量。也通过监视电池电荷，在需要电池再充电时，发出光或声音信号，或能开始消息打印输出。
充电器输入141、DC/DC变换器单元143和电池145连到单元133。
而且，微处理器101通过线路149连到IrDA收发信机147、通过D/A变换器153与放大器155连到扬声器151并通过双向缓冲器159连到PCMCIA连接器或PC卡槽157。
图1所示的移动打印设备能执行大量不同的通信任务。因此，利用IrDA收发信机所提供的接口，能从诸如蜂窝电话机或个人计算机(PC)的另一单元中接收信息或发送信息给此单元而不必使用任何连接电缆。在IrDA连接不可能或不实际的情况中，能替代地使用PC卡。此PC卡插在PCMCIA连接器或PC卡槽157中，并允许通过传统的诸如公用交换电话网(PSTN)的电话与LAN网的通信。
因此，通过利用键盘123输入对应诸如万维网(WWW)的全球计算机网络中的特定地址的代码并按下输入键，其中此地址则最好由打印机磁头103打印在纸张上，在WWW中的那个地址或位置上可获得的信息通过蜂窝电话机与蜂窝网络发送给打印机设备并打印输出在纸张上。为此，即为了查找全球计算机网络，此打印设备配备有位于控制器101中的浏览器102。
以类似的方式能联络电子邮箱，并且利用电子邮箱接收的电子邮件能发送给打印机设备和直接打印在纸张上。
当打印页是写入HTML码或类似码的页时，其中在此码中表示至WWW中的其他地址的链路并且这些链路包括在此页中，那个特定页中每条这样的链路利用浏览器102给定一个单独的代码或号码，此代码或号码则最好与此页上的链路相关联地和/或作为打印机打印的页的底部的脚注打印出来，在此页的底部也能打印出完整的地址。
如果用户随后想连到打印页上所表示的任一条链路，则他/她只需要输入与那条特定链路有关的代码或号码，以便打印设备中的浏览器102查找并连到那个地址。
在打印页上的链接与可单击(clickable)图像相关的情况中，能以两种不同方式生成链接标号。第一种选择方案是：将可单击图象的每个部分能与紧接着此可单击图像的那部分打印的特定码相关，即基本上与上述相同的程序，并且相应的地址作为脚注打印在此页的底部上。在另一个实施例中，坐标系统与此可单击图像相关，并且通过输入对应与此可单击图象的特定部分相关的链接的坐标，选择那条链接，而且浏览器连到由那条链接给定的地址。
而且，此打印设备能用作传真设备。在这种情况中，希望发送的纸张利用扫描器107进行扫描并且此扫描器输出的模拟信号在A/D变换器111中变换为数字比特流。此数字信号随后最好通过IrAD收发信机147和蜂窝网络利用通过IrDA接口147与此设备相互作用的蜂窝电话机发送出去。此设备当然也能利用IrDA接口147接收传真，所接收的传真由打印机103直接打印在纸上。
此打印设备也能用作与PC相互作用的组合的移动打印机/扫描器，此打印设备则能提供由常规打印机以及由常规扫描器提供的所有常规业务。
在另一个优选实施例中，微处理器101也具有存储器104，其容量足以存储大量的由扫描器扫描的或由CCD或数字摄像机捕获的扫描页。在此实施例中，此设备也能用作服务器并读出和/或下载存储在存储器的信息，其他单元能连到此服务器，所扫描的或所捕获的图像则能作为能通过WWW进行存取的HTML页来存储。
在另外一个优选实施例中，扫描器107利用诸如电荷耦合设备(CCD)108或数字摄像机的电子图像生成器进行替换或补充，从而扫描器所扫描的图像无需打印在纸张上，而能是一个由CCD 108捕获的图像。
为了给用户提供更多的信息指示，能如上所述由处理器101点亮LED 125，打印机设备也能通过扬声器151输出声音。
在图2中，在201示出在单个单元中装入上面结合图1描述的所有部件与部分的设备的外部。此图也示出蜂窝电话机203与个人计算机(PC)205。设备201能通过207、209与211上所示的IrDA接口与蜂窝电话机201和PC 205通信。由此设备接收的信息利用打印机213打印在纸张上，并且能由用户利用键盘215与扫描器217以上面结合图1所述的方式发送或收集信息。
因此，本文所述的设备在用户必须通信时给他或她提供非常有效和有用的工具，所述的设备非常小并且重量轻，制造费用与提供类似业务的诸如具有连接的打印机和扫描器的PC的其他解决方案相比非常低，这主要是因为不要求图形接口。
而且，能无人值守接收消息而没有任何的电源浪费。待机时间的限制因素由用于连到蜂窝网络的移动电话机的待机时间确定。此设备也机械地进行加固并采用更少的部分和外部连接，因此适用于操作在恶劣环境中，诸如低温和高振动环境中。
最后，在最简单实施例中此设备具有仅由键盘与纸打印输出构成的简单的用户接口，此设备也具有导致长的再充电间隔的低功耗。

Claims (6)

1.一种包括单个外壳的打印机，其特征在于：
查找和连接装置，用于通过数据或电话网络查找并连接至大量Internet地址；和
控制装置，用于接收并控制在纸上直接打印出在通过基于纸的人机接口联络的地址上所具有的信息。
2.根据权利要求1的打印机，其特征在于：
用于查找计算机网络的装置是浏览器。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的打印机，其特征在于：
此数据或电话网络是蜂窝网络。
4.根据权利要求1所述的打印机，其特征在于：
