Disclosure of Invention
The object of the present invention is to improve the scale attachments known from the prior art in an advantageous manner with respect to use.
The technical problem is solved by the invention provided by the claims. The dependent claims not only show advantageous developments in the dependent claims, but also constitute independent solutions to the technical problem
A second aspect of the invention relates to a development of the device known from DE 564710, for example. The solution is solved. The device has a fastening device for fastening the device to a segment of a graduated scale, which is formed by a plurality of segments that are foldable about joint axes spaced apart from one another. The segments are typically medium scale segments in which one or more segments are deployed from a stack of a plurality of folded-together segments to measure an internal dimension. The fixing device is clamped to the uppermost segment of the remaining set or stack of segments. A first arm projects from the fixture, the arm having a first contact end. The distance between the first contact end and the distal end of the fixing means is preferably less than the distance between the two joint axes of the scale segments of the scale. The first contact end can be placed in a position in which it can measure the internal dimension by sliding the fixing device along the uppermost segment. The fixing device can only be adjusted between a limited travel section between the two joints of the rule segment, so that all internal dimensions cannot be measured via the first contact end of the first arm. According to the invention, the fastening device has a second arm, which is movably associated with the fastening device. The second arm can be placed in a first functional position in which the inner dimension can be measured by the first contact end of the first arm. The second contact arm can be placed in a second functional position in which an inner dimension can be tapped by the second contact end of the second arm. In this functional position, the distance between the second contact end and the distal end of the fixing device is greater than the distance between the joints of the scale. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the second arm is fixed to the device by means of a rotary joint. The length of the second arm, i.e. the distance between the second contact end and the joint axis, is preferably less than the joint distance of the scale joint. The length of the second arm is also preferably less than the distance between the first contact end and the fixing means. The second contact arm is fixed to the fixture with a joint axis which preferably extends parallel to the joint axis of the scale. The joint axis of the second arm is preferably arranged directly adjacent to the first contact end. The joint axis is preferably formed by a threaded pin on which a knurled nut is screwed, so that the second arm can be fixed in its two functional positions. The first contact end can be used to measure the inner dimension in a first functional position, in which the second arm can assume a pivoted position in which the second arm extends over the first contact arm with the second contact end pointing in the distal direction. The joint axis may also be arranged such that in the swiveled position the first contact end is formed by the second arm. The second arm is then designed as two sides, wherein each side forms a contact end by its end, and the two contact ends have different distances from the joint axis. The second contact arm can be brought from the first functional position into the second functional position by a rotation, in particular by 180 °. The second contact arm extends in the same direction as the first contact arm and constitutes an extension of the first contact arm to some extent. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the first contact end is arranged at the free end of the first arm. The fixing device preferably has two clamping blocks which are opposite one another and act on the narrow sides of the rule section. A channel through which the scale passes can be constructed between the two fixed blocks. The channel can have a base plate which rests against the broad side of the rule section facing away from the latter, on which broad side the fastening means are fastened. The cover of the fastening device then covers the upwardly directed broad side of the scale so that the scale can be inserted with its ends into the channels, the limiting surfaces of the channels facing one another being spaced apart from one another by a sufficient width. However, it is also possible that the fastening device does not have a base plate, so that the fastening device can be clamped directly onto the middle rule section. With the double-armed design of the fastening device according to the invention, all internal dimensions can be measured without leakage, wherein the internal dimensions can be read on the scale itself when the scale is further extended such that the scale section is located below the first or second contact end. Subsequently, the internal dimensions can be read directly on the first or second contact end. In both functional positions, the distance between the distal end and the first contact end or the second contact end can be varied.
Furthermore, further inventive aspects relate to stops which can be fixed on segments of a scale or on other scales. The fixing device has a stop element, which can be formed by a stop plate, which extends transversely to the direction of extension of the scale. The stop member has a front stop surface and a back stop surface. The two stop faces are preferably formed by the two broad side faces of the stop plate. And a fixing device is arranged on the rear stop surface, and the graduated scale can be fixed on the stop device through the fixing device. A window is provided here, the cross section of which is slightly larger than the cross section of the scale so that the scale can be inserted through the window. The scale can be inserted into the window, in particular, to such an extent that the end edge of the scale is located in the front stop surface. When the end edge of the scale is arranged flush in the front stop face in this way, the fastening device can be used in the first functional position in order to measure the dimensions via the front stop face. The window extends in particular in the stop face or in the stop. In the second functional position, the end edge of the scale rests on the rear stop face. For this purpose, the rear stop surface has a stop shoulder for abutting against the end edge. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the stop shoulder is directly adjacent to the window opening, wherein the stop shoulder extends along a longitudinal edge of the window opening. The means for fixing the scale to the apparatus has a channel extending along a plane normal to the two stop surfaces. The channel preferably has a first channel wall and a second channel wall, wherein the first channel wall is spaced apart from the second channel wall. The two channel walls are designed such that the scale rests either on the first channel wall by a first broad side or on the second channel wall by a second broad side opposite the first broad side. If the first broad side of the scale bears against the first channel wall, the end edge of the scale can be guided through the window. The longitudinal edge of the window thus extends in the plane of the first channel wall. In a second functional position, in which the second broad side of the scale rests against the second channel wall, the end edge of the scale is located in front of the stop shoulder. The distance between the first channel wall and the second channel wall is thus greater than the distance between the two longitudinal edges of the window, wherein the longitudinal edges of the window lie in the plane of the first channel wall, and the second longitudinal edge of the window forms an edge of the stop shoulder, which extends transversely to the second channel wall and adjoins the second channel wall. In the second functional position, the end edge is located in the back stop surface, since in this functional position the end edge is located in the back stop surface. Clamping elements are provided for holding the device in a holder on the scale. The clamping element also limits the scale in a position in which it lies either against the first channel wall or against the second channel wall. Clamping blocks are provided which act on the longitudinal narrow edges of the scale. The clamping force can be applied to the movable clamping block by means of the clamping screw.
Further, the invention discloses that the cap can be placed over the end of a graduated scale, in particular a folding scale (combination rule). The cap has a stop against which an end edge of the scale can be placed. A clamping element is preferably provided in order to fix the cap on the end of the scale by clamping. According to the invention, the scribing edge is formed by one or more wings which protrude from the housing of the fastening device. The fastening device preferably has a passage into which the end of the scale can be inserted until the end edge touches the stop. The wings preferably project from the housing transversely to the insertion direction, i.e. transversely to the extension direction of the scale. One or more wings may be provided. The fastening device preferably has two identically designed wings which each project in the direction of the narrow edge of the scale. In particular, one or more wings each have a window. The score edge may be formed by an inner edge of the window. The window is preferably annularly surrounded. The window may have a first rim extending transversely to the direction of extension of the scale. The end of the frame facing away from the scale, i.e. the free end, can be connected to a second frame, which extends obliquely to the direction of extension of the scale and connects the free end of the first frame to the housing. The end of the scale may be inserted into the channel, which preferably has two pressure surfaces facing each other. The housing can be composed of two housing halves, wherein one housing half can also be designed as a pressure block only. The two housing halves each form a pressure surface which can act on the wide side of the scale. Clamping elements are provided for applying pressure to the pressure surfaces. The clamping element preferably comprises a threaded rod which is fixedly connected to the pressure block and a nut which can be screwed onto the threaded rod. The threaded rod passes through a hole in one of the housing parts. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the stop is formed by a threaded rod. The threaded rod passes through the opening, which is here tangent to an imaginary line in which the scribing edge runs. Furthermore, the fixing device has a magnet. The magnet may be held by two housing halves. The magnet is preferably located at a front end of the housing, which is opposite the opening of the passage, into which the scale can be inserted in the insertion direction. The housing is preferably made of plastic. Two wings can be assigned to the upper housing part. They can however also be assigned to the lower housing part. The lower shell preferably supports a threaded rod, while the upper shell preferably has an opening through which the threaded rod can pass. However, it can also be provided that the lower housing part has an opening through which a threaded rod can be passed, the head of the rod resting against the lower housing half.

Detailed Description
Fig. 1 to 4 show a marking cap which can be clamped onto the free end of a scale 1, in particular a scale (combination). The fixing device has a lower housing part 9 and an upper housing part 12. The lower and upper housing parts 9, 12 can be made of plastic.
A threaded rod 16 projects from one of the two housing parts, preferably from the lower housing part 9. The threaded rod 16 projects from the floor of the channel 10. The channel 10 has an insertion opening, and the scale 1 can be inserted with its end edge 2 into the channel 10 until the end edge 2 touches the threaded rod 16. The threaded rod 16 thus forms a stop 7 which defines the position of the scale 1 in the fixture.
A magnet 11 is arranged opposite the insertion opening. The magnet constitutes an end portion of a front side of the scribing cap.
The upper shell part 12 has a hole 13 through which a threaded rod 16 extends. The clamping nut designed as clamping part 8 can exert a clamping force on the outwardly directed broad sides of upper housing part 12, so that the channel walls, which each form a pressure surface 15, 17, rest against two broad sides of scale 1 which lie opposite one another.
At least one wing 4 is provided here, which forms a scoring edge 6 and is assigned in particular fixedly to a housing part, which forms a stop 7.
In this exemplary embodiment, the lower housing part 9 has two wings 4 arranged mirror-symmetrically with respect to the longitudinal center plane. Each of the two wings 4 constitutes a substantially triangular window 5. The window 5 has a first frame side which extends transversely to the insertion direction E or in the insertion direction of the scale 1. Such transverse edges form two scoring edges 6, 6'. The first scribing edge 6' is formed by the outer side. The second scribing edge 6 is formed by the inside of the window. Only the scribe edge 6 lies on an imaginary line which passes through the stop 7 and extends through the end edge 2 of the scale 1. The scribing edge 6 is formed by the inner side of the window 5.
The other frame side of the window 5, which extends obliquely with respect to the insertion direction E, connects the outer end of the transverse side of the window 5 to the lower housing part 9.
The embodiment shown in fig. 5 to 15 is an internal sizing device 25 which can be fixed to the segments 22 of the scale 20. For this purpose, the internal dimensional measuring device 25 has a fastening device 26 and clamping blocks 27, 28, by means of which the internal dimensional measuring device 25 can be fastened to the rule 22. The two clamping blocks 27, 28 act here on the narrow sides of the scale 20. The clamping blocks 27, 28 form the walls of a channel into which the scale 20 can be inserted. The channel has a base plate 39 which can rest against the broad side of the rule section 21. The base plate 39 is opposite the top plate, the opposite broad sides of the rod 21 pointing towards the base plate and the top plate. The top plate is interrupted by a recess. The floor 39 extends below the recess.
The substantially material-conforming first member of the internal sizing device 25 is constituted by the fixing means 26 and the first arm 31. The arm 31 is fixed to the fixing device 26 in such a way that the arm 31 projects from the fixing device 26 in the direction of extension of the rule 22. The first member of the internal sizing device 25 has two ends in the direction of extension of the rule 22, which ends have a distance L1 from one another. Here, a first contact end 33 is provided, which is formed by the free end of the first arm 31, and here also the opposite end of the fastening device 26, which is referred to as the distal end 36.
The joint arrangement with the joint axis 30 is located in the region of the first contact end 33. The joint axis 30 is formed by a threaded rod on which a clamping nut 35 is screwed. The second arm 32 is rotatable about the joint axis 30. Said second arm 32 constitutes to some extent an extension of the first arm 31. The second arm 32 has a second contact end 34 at its end opposite the joint axis 30.
The second arm 32 can be placed in a first functional position in which it extends on the first arm 31, in which the first contact end 33 is designated on the distal end 36, so that the overall length of the device is equal to the length L1. In an alternative not shown, the first contact end 33 is not constituted by the first arm 31, but by the shorter side of the second arm 32.
In the second functional position, in which the second arm 32 occupies a position rotated by 180 ° with respect to the first functional position, the second arm 32 lengthens the device. The second contact end 34 is spaced apart from the distal end 36 by a distance L2. In an alternative embodiment, which is not shown, the second pivotable arm 32 has two edges of different length, which in particular form an angle of 180 ° with respect to one another and each form one of the two contact ends 33, 34.
The two dimensions L1 and L2 are selected such that the distance L1 between the first contact end 33 and the distal end 36 is smaller than the distance L0 between the two joint axes 24 of the scale 20, i.e. smaller than 20 cm. The distance L2 between the second contact end 34 and the distal end 36 is greater than the distance L0 between the two joint axes 24 of the scale 20, i.e. greater than 20 cm.
It is also advantageous if the distance between the second contact end 34 and the joint axis 30 is likewise less than the distance L0 between the two joint axes 24 of the scale 20, i.e. less than 20 cm.
The working principle of the internal sizing device 25 is first explained in connection with fig. 10 to 12.
An internal dimension is to be measured which is slightly greater than the length of, for example, the two folded-out lengths 21, 22, as shown in fig. 10 and 12. The measuring aid is mounted on the second rule 22 and is slid on the rule 22 by the second arm 32 in the first functional position to such an extent that the distance between the end edge 20' of the measuring stick 20 and the first contact end 33 corresponds to the inner dimension. The contact end 33 and the end edge 20 are then simultaneously in the stop position. The end edge 20' is currently spaced from the first contact end 33 by the inner dimension. In this position, the clamping block 38 is moved by means of the clamping device 29 with the clamping nut 37 in the direction of the clamping block 27 until the fastening device 26 is fastened to the rule section 22.
The scale 20 is removed from the measurement site together with the fixed internal sizing device 25. The other rule 23 is pivoted out about the joint axis 24 and is placed in the position shown in fig. 11 and 12, in which the internal dimensions at the first contact end 33 can be read off directly at point P.
If the internal dimension to be measured has a distance which is slightly less than the length of the folded-out lengths, the second arm 32 is brought into the second functional position and the second contact end 34, as shown in fig. 13 to 15, is used to measure the internal dimension. The measuring is also carried out by the internal measuring device 25 being moved relative to the rule 22 until the end edge 20' and the second contact end 34 respectively assume the stop position. The internal sizing device 25 is then secured to the rule 22 in the manner previously described, and the internal size is then read directly at the location P on the flipped rule 23 by flipping over the further rule 23.
Fig. 16 to 20 show a stop device in the form of a sleeve stop which can be inserted onto the end of the scale 1, in particular onto the end of the scale 20. The sleeve stopper 14 has a plastic housing with a stopper 41 configured as a stop. The stop 41 has two broad sides directed away from one another. A window 44 having a rectangular cross-section is located within the stop 41, wherein the window face is substantially comparable to the cross-section of the scale 1, but with a smaller interference dimension, so that the scale 1 can be inserted through the window 44. The window 44 has an opening 44' in the front stop face 42 and an opposite window opening 44 "in the back stop face 43. The two stop surfaces 42, 43 extend parallel to one another. The channel 46 extends in the direction of the surface normal of the stop surfaces 42, 43. The channel 46 has two channel walls 46', 46 "opposite each other. The first channel wall 46' is flush with the edge of the window 44. The second channel wall 46 ″ is spaced from the first channel wall 46' by a distance a, wherein the distance a is greater than the spacing b of the two long sides of the window 44.
A stop shoulder 45 adjoins the long side of the window 44 which is directed away from the first channel wall 46'. The stop shoulder 45 is located in the rear stop surface 43, which is opposite the front stop surface 42.
A clamping device 49 having a clamping screw 49 'is provided, wherein the clamping screw 49' acts on the clamping block 50. The clamping block 50 is opposite the clamping block 48. The two clamping blocks 50, 48 form to some extent the narrow side walls of the channel wall 46. They act on the longitudinal narrow sides of the scale 1 so that the scale is fixed inside the passage in the direction of its extension.
The scale 1 can occupy two functional positions.
In the first functional position, the broad side of the scale 1 abuts against the first channel wall 46' so that the scale 1 can pass through the window 44. The end edge 2 of the scale 1 is in a position flush with the front stop face 42, so that the stop face 42 can be used in order to measure the internal dimensions, for example, by means of the scale.
In the second functional position, the broad side of the scale 1 abuts against the second channel wall 46 ". The end edge 2 of the scale 1 is now supported on the stop shoulder 45, so that the rear stop surface 43 can be used by the scale 1 for measuring, for example, an outer dimension.
In both functional positions, the scale 1 is fixed inside the channel 46 by means of a clamping device 49.
Furthermore, a magnet 11 is provided in the housing, which magnet has a surface section, which extends in a plane in which the front stop face 42 extends.
