Description
The present invention is a divisional application of the invention having application number 201611183931.5 (a liquid crystal display panel and a display device) filed on 2016, 12 and 20.
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of liquid crystal display, in particular to a liquid crystal display panel and a display device.
Background
Liquid crystal display panels are becoming mainstream display devices in the market due to their advantages of being light and thin, and low in power consumption.
With the continuous development of technologies such as processes, equipment and materials, the thin film transistor liquid crystal display technology (TFT-LCD) breaks through the technical limitations and simplifies the manufacturing process to reduce the cost, and meanwhile, in response to the market demands for low power consumption, fast response, high pixel density (high resolution), wide viewing angle and portability of more media display devices, new technologies are introduced into the TFT-LCD design to meet the market demands and expand the application range of the TFT-LCD.
In terms of portability, the TFT-LCD display panel is required to be oriented to be light and thin and develop a new market for glass thinning, and as the application display area of portable devices (such as mobile phones and PDAs) is continuously enlarged, the market is urgently required to improve the TFT-LCD panel design and reduce the area of the non-display area of the TFT-LCD panel in order to increase the displayable area of the devices without increasing the overall size of the devices, so that various new technologies are developed to narrow the frame of the TFT-LCD.
Along with the requirements of high resolution, narrow frames and the like, the number of stages of a Gate driver circuit (Gate on array, GOA) is increased, so that the requirement for increasing the occupied width of the GOA of the left frame and the right frame is higher, however, the reduction of the width of the GOA requires the reduction of the size of a TFT, and the performance of the GOA is affected, so that the arrangement of signal routing and virtual pixels between the GOA and the AA area needs to be improved on the premise of not reducing the performance and the width of the GOA.
Fig. 1 is a circuit design of a peripheral circuit of a liquid crystal display panel in the related art (for the sake of illustration, fig. 1 shows only a line arrangement from a left frame of the panel to an AA area), and as can be seen from fig. 1, the related art liquid crystal display panel includes an AA area 8, a dummy pixel area 9, a G0A area 6, a common line 5, a first signal line 1, a second signal line 2, and a third signal line 3 are arranged between a GOA area and the dummy pixel area 9, the first signal line 1, the second signal line 2, and the third signal line 3 are used as signal lines for an array substrate test, the dummy pixel area 9 includes a dummy signal line 4 because it is obtained from a unit pixel area array in the AA area, the dummy pixel area 9 is mainly used to ensure etching uniformity of an image of the AA area 8 near the panel frame, and therefore the dummy pixel area 9 has no other practical purpose, in fig. 1, the width between the left frame 7 and the AA area 8 is the frame width of the liquid crystal display panel. How to reduce the width between the left border 7 and the AA area 8 without degrading the GOA performance and width becomes a key to narrow border design.
Disclosure of Invention
On the premise of not reducing GOA performance and width, the invention provides the liquid crystal display panel, reduces the width between the frame and the AA area, and realizes the narrow frame design of the liquid crystal display panel.
The invention provides a liquid crystal display panel, which is characterized in that a gate driving circuit area, a virtual pixel area and a display area are sequentially arranged from a frame to a display center, the direction of the frame is set to be a Y direction, the direction vertical to the Y direction is set to be an X direction, a common line, a first signal line and a second signal line are sequentially arranged from the gate driving circuit area to the virtual pixel area along the X direction, the common line, the first signal line and the second signal line respectively extend along the Y direction, the virtual pixel area comprises a virtual signal line, and the display area is formed by a plurality of unit pixel areas in an array mode in the X direction.
Because the main function of the virtual pixel area is to ensure that the etching of the display area close to the edge is uniform, the virtual pixel area has no other practical functions in the use of the liquid crystal panel, so that the virtual signal line in the virtual pixel area is used as the third signal line, namely, the first signal line, the second signal line and the virtual signal line are used as the test signal line of the array substrate, and therefore, the performance and the width of the GOA area of the liquid crystal display panel are not changed, the function of the liquid crystal display panel is ensured, the width of the third signal line is saved, and the frame of the liquid crystal display panel is narrowed.
As a further improvement of the invention, the virtual pixel regions are obtained by arraying the unit pixel regions of the display region along the X direction, so that a mask does not need to be made again, and the virtual pixel regions are made together with the display region, thereby reducing the manufacturing process and ensuring the etching uniformity of the display region close to the frame.
As a further improvement of the invention, a gap is arranged between the common line and the first signal line, and a gap is arranged between the first signal line and the second signal line, so that the common line, the first signal line and the second signal line are ensured to be mutually insulated, and the occurrence of short circuit is avoided. Meanwhile, when the widths of the first signal line and the second signal line are equal, the manufacturing process of the signal line is further simplified.
The invention also provides a liquid crystal display panel capable of realizing narrow frame design, which comprises a gate driving circuit area, a virtual conductive film image area and a display area from a frame to a display center in sequence, wherein the direction of the frame is set to be Y direction, the direction vertical to the Y direction is set to be X direction, a common line, a first signal line, a second signal line and a third signal line are arranged from the gate driving circuit area to the display area in sequence along the X direction, the common line, the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line respectively extend along the Y direction, the areas of the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line are overlapped with the virtual conductive film image area but insulated from each other when viewed along the normal direction of the liquid crystal display panel, the display area is formed by a plurality of unit pixel area arrays in the X direction, the unit pixel region includes a conductive film image and a data line.
The virtual conductive film image area is mainly arranged to ensure uniform etching of the display area close to the edge, because the virtual conductive film image area does not contain signal lines, the virtual conductive film image area can be arranged in the areas of the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line, namely, the area where the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line are positioned and the virtual conductive film image area are overlapped with each other when viewed along the normal direction of the liquid crystal display panel, but the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line are in different physical layers with the virtual conductive film image, therefore, the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line are insulated from the virtual conductive film image, the performance and the width of the GOA area of the liquid crystal display panel are not changed, the function of the liquid crystal display panel is ensured, and the independent arrangement of the virtual conductive film image area is saved, thereby narrowing the bezel of the liquid crystal display panel.
As a further improvement of the liquid crystal display panel provided with the dummy conductive film image region, the conductive film image in the dummy conductive film image region is obtained by the conductive film image array in the unit pixel region, and although the dummy conductive film image region is not completely the same as the unit pixel region and a mask needs to be newly formed, the effect of narrowing the frame of the liquid crystal display panel is obtained.
As a further improvement of the liquid crystal display panel provided with the dummy conductive film image area, a gap is provided between the common line and the first signal line, a gap is provided between the first signal line and the second signal line, and a gap is provided between the second signal line and the third signal line, so that mutual insulation among the common line, the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line is ensured, and short circuit is avoided. Meanwhile, when the widths of the first signal line, the second signal line and the third signal line are equal, the manufacturing process of the signal lines is further simplified.
The invention also provides a display device comprising the liquid crystal display panel.

The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
The first embodiment is as follows:
fig. 2 is a first embodiment of the present invention, and as can be seen from fig. 2, the liquid crystal display panel provided in the present invention sequentially includes a GOA area 61, a dummy pixel area 91, and a display area 81 from a frame 71 to the center of the display area 81, the frame 71 is set in a Y direction, a direction perpendicular to the Y direction is set in an X direction, and a common line 51, a first signal line 11, and a second signal line 21 are sequentially disposed from a G0A area 61 to a dummy pixel area 41 along the X direction, wherein the common line 51, the first signal line 11, and the second signal line 21 respectively extend along the Y direction, a gap is formed between the common line 51 and the first signal line 11, and a gap is also formed between the first signal line 11 and the second signal line 21, so as to ensure mutual insulation therebetween, and simultaneously, the width of the first signal line 11 is equal to the width of the second signal line 21, thereby simplifying the manufacturing process.
In addition, as can be seen from fig. 2, the dummy signal lines 41 are included in the dummy pixel areas 91, the existence of the dummy pixel areas can ensure the uniformity of the display areas 81 in the etching process, and the etching solution concentration near the display areas at the edges of the panel is not too high to cause the quality degradation of the etched image, and since the dummy pixel areas 91 do not play a role in the panel function, there is no strict requirement on the etching uniformity of the dummy pixel areas 91, so the dummy signal lines 41 in the dummy pixel areas 91 are generally in a floating control state.
In this embodiment, the common line 51 is used as a common terminal of the data lines of the display region 81, and the first signal line 11, the second signal line 21 and the dummy signal line 41 are used as the test signal lines of the array substrate, and these three signal lines are used as control signals such as CTEN signals or switching signals such as Demux _ CK signals during the test of the array substrate, and when these three signal lines are insulated from each other, no mutual interference is generated between the signals, which is beneficial to the test of the array substrate. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the width from the frame 71 to the display area 81, that is, the frame width of the panel, is no longer provided with a third signal line as in fig. 1, that is, the frame width of the liquid crystal display panel in the present embodiment is reduced by the width of one signal line compared with the prior art, so as to ensure the performance of the liquid crystal display panel, and simultaneously, the GOA performance and the width are not reduced, which is beneficial to the design of the high-resolution liquid crystal panel.
In this embodiment, the display region 81 is formed by a plurality of unit pixel region arrays along the X direction, and the dummy pixel region 91 is also formed by the unit pixel region arrays, so that the dummy pixel region and the display region can be manufactured together with the display region by using the same mask in the manufacturing process of the panel, thereby saving process steps and reducing manufacturing difficulty.
Example two:
fig. 3 shows a second embodiment of the present invention, and as can be seen from fig. 3, the liquid crystal display panel in this embodiment is sequentially provided with a GOA area 62, a dummy conductive film image area 90 and a display area 82 from a frame 72 to the center of the display area, the direction of the frame 72 is set to be a Y direction, the direction perpendicular to the Y direction is set to be an X direction, a common line 52, a first signal line 12, a second signal line 22 and a third signal line 32 are further sequentially provided along the X direction from the G0A area 62 to the display area 82, the common line 52, the first signal line 12, the second signal line 22 and the third signal line 32 respectively extend along the Y direction, wherein a gap is provided between the common line 52 and the first signal line, a gap is provided between the first signal line 12 and the second signal line 22, a gap is provided between the second signal line 22 and the third signal line 32, so that the common line 52 and the three signal lines are insulated from each other, while the manufacturing process is further simplified when the width of the first signal line 12, the width of the second signal line 22, and the width of the third signal line 32 are equal.
In the present embodiment, the display area 82 is formed by an array of a plurality of unit pixel areas in the X direction, the unit pixel areas include conductive film images and data lines, the conductive film images in the dummy conductive film image area 90 are obtained by arraying the conductive film images in the unit pixel areas in the X direction, and when viewed in the normal direction of the liquid crystal display panel, the areas where the first signal line 12, the second signal line 22, and the third signal line 32 are located coincide with the dummy conductive film image area 90, and since the first signal line 12, the second signal line 22, and the third signal line 32 are located in different physical layers from the dummy conductive film images, the three signal lines and the dummy conductive film images are insulated from each other, so that the dummy conductive film images do not affect the use functions of the three signal lines, and therefore, the three signal lines can be normally used as in the prior art, and during the test of the array substrate, the three signal lines are used as control signals such as CTEN signals or switching signals such as Demux _ CK signals, and when the three signal lines are insulated from each other, mutual interference among the signals cannot be generated, so that the test of the array substrate is facilitated.
In addition, because the virtual conductive film image area is arranged on the periphery of the display area 82, the etching uniformity of the display area 82 at the panel edge in the etching process can be ensured, and the etching quality of the display area cannot be reduced.
The liquid crystal display panel in the embodiment saves independent setting of the image area of the virtual conductive film, so that the frame of the liquid crystal display panel is narrowed, the narrow frame design of the liquid crystal display panel is realized, the performance and the width of G0A are not changed, and the design of the high-resolution liquid crystal display panel is facilitated.
