The invention relates to interior wall putty powder which comprises the following components in parts by weight: 1020 portions of coarse whiting powder, 8-10 portions of pregelatinized starch, 2-5 portions of polyvinyl alcohol powder and 4.5-5.5 portions of cellulose ether. The putty powder is prepared by adding polyvinyl alcohol powder and cellulose ether into coarse whiting powder to prepare interior wall putty powder, the obtained quality is far superior to that of common putty powder of starch and 821, meanwhile, the hardness of the interior wall putty powder is between that of gray calcium-based putty and starch putty, and the interior wall putty powder also has excellent scraping property, and the two kinds of putty have far inferior adhesive force, flexibility, polishing fineness and durability; the components of the formula are simple and feasible.
