一般地提供Ferrium钢,以及用于对由其形成的组件的表面进行硬化的方法。根据具体实施例,Ferrium钢可以经受渗碳和氮化。不希望受任何具体的理论所束缚,据相信,渗碳工艺导致所得Ferrium钢组件的高核心硬度,同时氮化工艺导致Ferrium钢组件的极高表面硬度。因此,经处理的Ferrium钢合金可以维持在渗碳工艺之后获得的高有效硬化层深度以具有极高核心硬度和机械性质,同时增加其表面抗疲劳性。另外,热稳定性可以在高温下增加(例如,在齿轮箱组件的出油条件中)。
I.渗碳和回火工艺
例如经由低压渗碳随后进行骤冷(例如,直接高压气体骤冷)可以对Ferrium钢进行渗碳。举例来说,在一个实施例中,可以经由低压渗碳(LPC)工艺对Ferrium钢进行渗碳,所述工艺可以在真空熔炉中使用烃类气体(例如,甲烷、丙烷、乙烯类、电石气等或其混合物)在极低压和升高的渗碳温度下实行。在某些实施例中,渗碳温度可为约850℃到约1100℃(例如,约900℃到约1050℃,例如约930℃到约1025℃)。渗碳压力可以是例如约0.1毫巴到约1毫巴(例如,约0.25毫巴到约0.75毫巴)。
在某些实施例中,LPC工艺可以在渗碳温度(例如,约850℃到约1100℃)下执行,且其特征可在于在总时间(例如,约250分钟到约400分钟,例如约300分钟到约350分钟)中的升压和碳扩散的交替循环。在渗碳之后,组件可以直接从渗碳温度骤冷。举例来说,渗碳工艺可以通过骤冷结束,例如氮气(N2)骤冷(例如,在约760托到约7500托的氮气压力下,例如约2250托到约5250托)。
在渗碳和骤冷之后,组件可以经受零下处理以便获得马氏体中的奥氏体的完全变换且避免残留奥氏体的存在。举例来说,Ferrium钢可以经受零下处理(例如,在约0℃到约100℃的温度下,例如约-50℃到约-100℃)。
处于或极接近于其最硬的可能状态的骤冷渗碳Ferrium钢可以随后经回火以使硬度逐渐减小到更适合于所需应用的点。因此,渗碳Ferrium钢可以在渗碳之后且在氮化之前进行回火,以便调整所得经处理Ferrium钢的表面性质。通常,回火是通过减小合金的硬度而实现较大韧性的热处理技术。硬度的减少通常伴随着延展性的增加,进而减小金属的脆性。
回火大体上涉及将渗碳Ferrium钢加热到回火温度(例如,约400℃到约550℃)。举例来说,渗碳Ferrium钢可以通过两次回火工艺进行双重回火。在一个实施例中,可以执行第一温度工艺以获得大量碳化物沉淀和残留奥氏体的转换,且可以执行第二温度工艺以精炼和稳定二次碳化物结构。举例来说,第一回火工艺可以涉及加热到第一温度(例如,约425℃到约460℃),且第二回火工艺可以涉及加热到高于第一温度的第二温度(例如,约460℃到约500℃)。第一和第二回火工艺的加热过程可以相同或不同,例如约5℃/分钟到约25℃/分钟(例如,约5℃/分钟到约15℃/分钟)。类似地,第一和第二回火工艺的持续时间可以相同或不同,例如从约5小时到约10小时(例如,约7小时到约9小时)。
II.氮化工艺
通常可以在钢组件已经受渗碳之后执行氮化工艺。氮化工艺可以将氮气扩散到金属组件的表面中以产生表面硬化的表面。通过等离子氮化,可以修改钢组件的表面的微结构以便在其中包括氮。在某些实施例中,在氮化处理之后,组件的表面中的最大氮含量可为按重量计约0.5%(例如,按重量计大于0%到约5%,例如按重量计约0.05%到约0.5%),以便避免可能带来裂缝产生的有害长氮化物的产生。在特定实施例中,可以选择氮化工艺以避免白色层的存在。举例来说,可以在氮化工艺之前研磨组件以便避免其上的白色层的形成。
参看图1,经处理Ferrium钢组件10示出为由渗碳Ferrium钢的核心12形成。外表面13暴露于含氮等离子场16,以使得氮扩散进入表面13以形成组件10内的表面部分14(例如,表面部分14中的氮的按重量计大于0%到约0.5%)。举例来说,在组件10的表面部分14中从外表面13到约35μm的深度(例如,约0.1μm到约30μm),氮都是可测量的。
氮化工艺可为在含氮气氛中在反应温度下执行的氮化等离子工艺。在特定实施例中,含氮气氛的反应性是由于气体电离状态,其是由于热处理温度与在将氮化的表面处施加的电场的组合而形成。举例来说,可以使用电场来产生将氮化的表面周围的气体的电离分子(即,“等离子”)。
在一个实施例中,将电施加于组件10的表面13以便产生电场。在此类实施例中,施加于组件10的表面13的电的电压可为约450伏特到约550伏特。
由于氮离子不同于气体或盐浴是通过电离而可用,因此等离子氮化效率不取决于温度。等离子氮化可以在宽温度范围中执行,例如约260℃到约600℃。然而,在某些实施例中,可以利用适度温度来氮化Ferrium钢而不需要形成氮化铬沉淀。在一个实施例中,氮化工艺可为涉及在含氮气氛中约350℃到约500℃(例如,约400℃到约475℃,例如约425℃到约460℃)的热处理温度的等离子氮化工艺。
在等离子氮化工艺中,含氮气体(例如,氮气等)可以用作氮源,其可以形成存在或不存在任何额外气体的等离子气氛。也可以存在例如氢气或惰性气体(例如,氩气)等其它气体,例如载气。举例来说,含氮气体可为等离子气氛的按体积计约1%到约50%(例如,按体积计约5%到约25%,例如按体积计约5%到约15%)。在一个实施例中,可以在氮化工艺之前在部件的加热期间使用氩气和/或氢气以清洁将氮化的表面(例如,以从表面移除任何氧化层)。举例来说,处理气氛中的氢气的存在可以允许在组件的表面上的任何氧化物的继续移除。也可以执行其它清洁工艺,例如通过使用溶剂、蚀刻等。
如图2所示,组件10可以放入具有受热壁22的熔炉20(例如,热壁熔炉)中。组件10可以例如定位在平台24上以使得等离子16形成于组件10上方。熔炉20内的总压力可以受流动系统26控制,所述系统可包括阀28,所述阀控制从箱体30进入熔炉20的气体系统的流动速率。在某些实施例中,熔炉20内的处理气氛的总压力是约0.5毫巴(mbar)到约10毫巴(例如,约1毫巴到约5毫巴)。
在某些实施例中,经处理组件可以准备好在等离子氮化之后的使用,而无需任何额外机械加工、抛光或任何其它氮化后操作。然而,在其它实施例中,可以在研磨或另外机械加工组件之后使用渗碳和氮化物Ferrium合金。
IV.Ferrium钢
在特定实施例中,Ferrium钢可在渗碳之后但在氮化之前具有一种组成,其按重量计包括约0.10%到约0.2%的碳(C)、约7.0%到约10.0%的镍(Ni)、约16.0%到约18.5%的钴(Co)、约1.0%到约2.0%的钼(Mo)、约3.0%到约4.0%的铬(Cr)、高达约0.05%的钨(W)以及余量的铁(Fe)。举例来说,Ferrium钢可在渗碳之后但在氮化之前具有一种组成,其按重量百分比计包括约0.10%到约0.15%的C和/或约7.5%到约9.5%的将镍(Ni)。
示范性Ferrium钢可包括Ferrium C61和C64。Ferrium C61和C64是高度可硬化的二次硬化马氏体钢,其在渗碳处理之后但在氮化之前达到极高核心硬度和机械性质。举例来说,Ferrium C61可具有在洛氏标尺(Rc)上约60到约62的表面硬度,且Ferrium C64可具有约62到约64的Rc表面硬度(给定的值表示在渗碳处理之后但在氮化之前的硬度)。不希望受任何具体的理论所束缚,据相信,这些合金由于在Ni-Co板条马氏体基质中的纳米尺寸M2C碳化物分散度而达到其性质。

Ferrium C61和Ferrium C64在双硬化处理(例如,包括渗碳和氮化)之后可在齿轮箱应用中经由两种处理的优点的利用而提供集成式组件(例如,一体式座圈行星齿轮)的改进性能:通过渗碳得到的高核心硬度和有效硬化层深度,以及通过氮化得到的极高表面硬度。

Claims (10)
1.一种处理钢的方法,所述方法包括:
氮化渗碳Ferrium钢组件以使得所述Ferrium钢组件具有氮含量按重量计大于0%到5%的表面部分,其中氮化所述Ferrium钢组件增加所述Ferrium钢组件的表面硬度。
2.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于所述表面部分具有按重量计0.05%到0.5%的氮含量。
3.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于氮化所述Ferrium钢组件包括:在包括含氮气体的处理气氛中等离子氮化所述Ferrium钢组件。
4.根据权利要求3所述的方法,其特征在于所述处理气氛具有0.5毫巴到10毫巴的处理压力。
5.根据权利要求3所述的方法,其特征在于所述处理气氛包括所述含氮气体和载气,其中所述处理气氛包括按体积计1%到50%的所述含氮气体。
6.根据权利要求5所述的方法,其特征在于所述处理气氛包括按体积计5%到25%的所述含氮气体,且其中所述载气包括氩气、氢气或其混合物。
7.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于进一步包括:
在氮化之前,在400℃到550℃的回火温度下对所述渗碳Ferrium钢组件进行回火。
8.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于在400℃到550℃的回火温度下对所述渗碳Ferrium钢组件进行回火包括双重回火工艺,所述双重回火工艺包括:
在第一回火温度下对所述渗碳Ferrium钢组件执行第一回火工艺;以及
随后在高于所述第一回火温度的第二回火温度下对所述渗碳Ferrium钢组件执行第二回火工艺。
9.根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于所述渗碳Ferrium钢组件在渗碳之后但在氮化之前具有一种组成,所述组成按重量计包括0.10%到0.2%的碳、7.0%到10.0%的镍、16.0%到18.5%的钴、1.0%到2.0%的钼、3.0%到4.0%的铬、高达0.05%的钨,以及余量的铁。
10.根据权利要求9所述的方法,其特征在于所述渗碳Ferrium钢组件在渗碳之后但在氮化之前包括按重量计0.10%到0.15%的碳的组成。
